Character description:
(She began her journey at 12. Now she is 16.)

Spoiler:

Personality: A bright and optimistic 16 year old girl who looks for the best in everyone. She believes anyone evil has a logical reason and is never beyond redemption. She makes friends really easily because she's extremely outgoing.

History: She wasn't exactly a 'wanted' child. Her parents abandoned her when she was a baby and an orphanage picked up on raising her. The orphanage wasn't exactly in the best part of the world. A lot of crime and violence outside of the orphanage, so the children were always kept within the protective gate of its property. Amy always wondered what it was like to explore the outside world, and read about it in books, but never got the opportunity to see it for herself.

The children can only protected from the outside world so long, before they're set out on their own. Unfortunately, these children never grew up to be adults before they were let go. A businessman wanted the property of the Orphanage, and gave them a low offer for the property because it was in a bad neighborhood. When he was turned down, the disgruntled businessman hired some local scum to burn the orphanage to the ground. In the middle of the night, the fire alarms were set off, and children ran around in a panic, looking for an exit. Quite a few of the occupants and children were killed in the fire, but Amy managed to escape. Out in the cold night, in a harsh world, in a bad neighborhood, she tried to find a new home and new friends at an early age of 12.

Like a lot of humans with special abilities, their powers are usually discovered, but never controlled. Mist knew of her special abilities but never actually 'practiced' or had to use them. Today, however, she would. Walking down the street, she noticed she was being followed. Startled, she began to walk faster, but two men were keeping up with her. Afraid, she ran down an alley hoping to cut through the street and onto another one, but it was a dead end. One of the men pulled a gun, and asked for her money. Obviously, she had none. His trigger hand shook uncontrollably at the small girl, seconds later he pulled the trigger.

Mist crossed her arms and shielded her face instinctively, and attempted to trigger her ability. She transformed into a misty substance of water and the bullet sailed through her and smacked against the brick wall behind her. Mist ran towards the man in her form. Startled, the man fired again, with the same results. When she reached him, she transformed back into flesh and bones, grabbed the gun, then transformed the gun and herself back into a misty cloud, slipping the gun out of his hand as if he had been holding onto nothing. She took two steps back and changed back into her flesh form, and shot the gun at his foot. The man howled in pain and fell to the ground. The second man punched her in the face before she could react to the swing. She fell down to the ground and aimed the gun up to the second man, arms shaking.

(BANG)

Since then...

Having nowhere to run off to when the Orphanage was burned down, she was eventually found and adopted by Nightkill at the young age of 12. Or as she refers to him, Mr. Khan. For the past 4 years, she has been under his care and supervision. Under his tutelage, learning advanced combat techniques and gaining a higher education than what she previously had at the orphanage.

-Water Vapor Transformation-

She has the ability to make herself completely turn to a cloudlike vapor of water. When in contact with inanimate objects, such as clothes or objects, they also transform when she does. However, when she goes back to a solid state, the objects return as well. This ability does not work on other people, enemies or allies. Only for herself and whatever she comes in contact with. (Non-organic) Her main weakness is obviously fire or flammables, but she also has to be quick to trigger her ability or else she'll get hit with a blunt/sharp object like any normal person in combat.

The cooldown for her powers are as long as she was previously in her mist-like state. If she transforms into water vapor for an entire post, she cannot change back for an entire post. Or if she was only in her water vapor state for a few seconds, she could reactivate her power a few seconds later.

Roleplay example:

Amy had been skulking around the City ever since she had been attacked by two men the night before. She was so confused, she had never actually been involved in anything like this before. She injured a man by shooting him in the foot with a gun she had wrestled out of the thugs hand, then shot the second in the gut. She didn't know until now, but that second man had died of blood loss. She pressed her face against the glass of a Electronics store window, where it was all over the news.

"Little mutant girl attacks two men, kills one. Anti-mutant movements across the nation are protesting to eliminate the rights of these vicious monsters."

That story wasn't true at all, she was attacked! She didn't mean to kill anyone. She still had the small pistol she stole from the man she encountered, tucked away in her backpack with what little belongings she had. She didn't know what to do with it, what to do with herself. On the news, there was a sketch artists rendering of what she looked like, as described as the first man that was shot and lived.

It did resemble her, but now people would be looking for her. She kept walking past the store, following the sweet scent of noodle soup from a nearby Chinese restaurant called "Oni's Kitchen". She didn't have any money, but she could still wish. The owner of the store, Oni was out setting up tables, but there were no customers. He noticed her and she smiled back.

"Hay, you look hungry!" Oni said. He put his hands on his hips and smiled. "I think I've seen you somewhere before..."

Oh no... He had recognized her already, it hadn't even been a day! "You're one of those orphans who got their home burned down. I'm sorry to hear that. Here, have some soup on me! Come inside, come!"

Oni came out of the kitchen after a 20 minute wait. She hadn't eaten in over 24 hours, the soup tasted so good. "Thank you, Mr. Oni... But I have no money to pay you."

"I didn't ask for your money, I have no customers. Eat, enjoy! You know, you shouldn't be out all alone in this city. Its very dangerous. I know it was you on the news that killed that man."

Her heart sunk and she looked at the door. She had only had a few mouthfuls and she was considering dashing out the door. "I-I didn't attack him! He attacked me, I didn't know what to do!"

"Hush hush... Your secret is safe with Oni. Calm down now. But I heard you had a gun. You know if the Police do catch you, your fingerprints are all over that gun. They will lock you up forever. Give Oni the gun, Oni will dispose of it. Nobody will know your secret."

It seemed like a good idea, she didn't know what to do with the gun, and Oni was very helpful and nice. She took the gun out of her backpack and slid it over the table to Oni. The chinese man reached his hand over and picked it up with a latex glove. "What the..."

"All clear!" Oni shouted and ran off with the gun. Amy shrieked when 4 men in riot gear came through the entrance of the restaurant. She looked to the back where the kitchen was, for a rear exit, and two more cops in riot gear were blocking that exit. Amy got up from her seat, trying to figure out where to run. One of the cops pulled out a net-launcher cannon and blasted a wire net at Amy. She screamed and shifted into a misty cloud figure of herself, and the net went clear through her and wrapped around the chair she was sitting on.

Amy darted for the back door with only two men blocking the kitchen. The two guards pulled out their riot shields, and electric batons. In either of her forms, Amy couldn't go through solid walls, or in this case, the riot shields or officers blocking the door. Usually things went around her. Things small enough to move inbetween the water molecules. She'd have to somehow beat these two cops and get past them. She took a deep breath and charged, both the guards simultaneously swung their clubs trying to hit her in her watery form, which was impossible.

After the swing, both the police officers were puzzled. They were both missing their batons, and Amy had one in each her hands, in her flesh and bone form. She lunged forward with both electric prods at the police officers. One of the batons was blocked with a riot shield, and the other hit an officer in the neck. The electric shock caused him to vomit on the inside of his visor and fall to the floor. Amy then swung that same baton and hit the other officer on kneecap, causing him to fall down as well. But when she tried to open the kitchen door, it was locked!

She spun around to the other four officers, who now had a clear shot at her with the two officers on the floor. They pulled out semi-automatic rifles. She gasped then changed into her mist-like form seconds before the officers turned the door behind her into swiss cheese. The officers rifles ran out of ammo, and Amy was still standing.

"Thanks for the noodles, Oni!"

She waved and then ran into the door, which was full of holes, and seeped through to the other side, and ran out the back door of the restaurant.
