Personality: Gauntlet marches to the beat of his own drum, other people’s rules are not for him to follow. Principled and cunning he fights for his own means, not on anyone else’s agenda unless it suits his goals. He’s charismatic and charming, somehow always talking his way through or out of anything. His dark past makes him cautious and wary of others, trust is a hard thing for him to come by, only relying on himself to pull through anything.

History: Kal Geriko was born in a hospital in Boston in the middle of winter. He was intelligent growing up as a child, always ahead of the class but very secluded in nature. As a teenager he was a trouble maker, but always charming. One day, on his 16th birthday Kal entered yet another argument with his parents. Kal was usually in control of his temper but once sparked, he is an unstoppable flame, with his rage uncontainable. The rage inside him summoned a blast of energy all around him, in a flash, the only family he had was dead. Blamed by the law, Kal exiled himself from everything he knew, living in the streets of the city, entertaining in the street for money to make his way. Eventually he was apprenticed with a martial arts teacher, teaching him to fight for his own way. He specialized in Staff Fighting when he left his master. Kal spent months searching for ways for him to heighten and control his power. By the time he was 19 he had created a pair of Gauntlets to help control, regulate, and concentrate his energy power. Since then he has made his way through jobs of his power’s status, weather Legal or Not.

Powers: Gauntlet has the power to release powerful Kinetic-Thermal energy from his body powered by his life force. He can release it in almost anyway including sending a powerful Energy Aura from his body destroying and scorching things around him. His most common form of fighting is by shooting beams, spheres, or discs of energy from his hands using his gauntlets to concentrate his power. His life force is drained slightly whenever he uses his powers and if unchecked it can kill him based on how strong the attack is. He can also channel the energy from his body into an object while he uses the object. He uses the Gauntlets to regulate his power, the gauntlets allow him to concentrate the attacks from his hands but they also regulate the amount of energy he uses so he doesn’t kill himself in the process. Kal can use more powerful but less precise attacks without the gauntlets but does have a chance of becoming unconscious or killing himself in the process. He is also trained in general close combat and he specializes in using a pole in his close fighting.

Roleplay Sample: Gauntlet walked quietly down the ally-way. It was late and he was getting sick of this rain. Lost in his thoughts as he walked, he looked up to see two silhouettes under a veil of orange light in the middle of the ally-way. There was a long pause as the two shadowy figures stood, seemingly staring at Gauntlet in the center of the ally-way, their steaming breaths forming clouds in front of them in the rain. He saw it as if in slow-motion, the blade of a switch blade make a *click* as it glinted in the orange light of the lamp. "I would think twice guys, no one needs to die today." One of the men, the one without the knife laughed quietly and nodded at Gauntlet as the man with the knife came at him quickly. Ready for the attack Gauntlet side-steps the swipe and unclips the foot long rod from his belt. He quickly flicks his wrist, extending it to a full 6 foot fighting Rod. As the rod extends, it strikes the knife wielding man in the back, throwing him to the ground. Gauntlet follows up with a quick 180 rotation of the rod striking the man horizontally in the back right side of his head, knocking him seemingly unconscious. "One down one to go" says Gauntlet as he stands up straight, staring at the the remaining man menacingly from about 10 feet away. The man yells, terrified as Gauntlet steps towards him, taking him and pinning him by his neck against the brick wall with his gauntlet wrapped around his throat. The man grabs his hands on Gauntlet's arm as he helplessly dangles from his grip. Gauntlet says gruffly "You tell your friends, who not to fuck with. If I ever see you again I'll do what I did to that poor S.O.B." Gauntlet tilts his head to indicate the man on the ground. "But worse!" He yells loudly as he lets the remaining man fall to his knees on the ground gasping for breath.
