Re: Just another day at the office...
Chelle had stayed up most of the night, getting little to no sleep. Thankfully, she did not require sleep to function correctly. She stretched and reached for her ringing phone. A mess of blankets surrounded her, making for a comfortable cocoon. She smiled to herself and peaked an eye open toward her bedside clock. Eleven AM? She grabbed the phone just before it went to voice mail. She flipped it open, pressing SEND without question. "Yes?" She asked, her tired voice possibly melting the ear on the other end of the phone. When she heard her old alias, Alora Price, she chuckled. "Ah, Seth Khan. Good to hear from you so soon. I guess I did not mention my true identity, did I?"
She laughed, making it seem as if she were such a simple girl. She sat up in bed, reaching for her coffee that was being carted to her bedside by Alice. "Mistress..." she whispered, her timid voice barely audible. Chelle nodded and blew her a kiss, accepting the delicious caffeine. She sipped happily, holding the phone between her ear and shoulder. "So, what has you calling so early, Mister Khan?" She asked, sliding out of bed, her hands cupping around the cappuccino mug. She sipped again, waiting for his answer. While they chatted, Chelle made herself comfortable in front of her boudoir. She cleaned her face and and drank the contents of her coffee after finishing their phone conversation.

Chelle was also looking at a large box, and inside the box was a lot of hundred dollar bills. The Employer had made his payment, and delivered half the reward, as promised. On the other end of the line, Khan chuckled. "There's no such thing as calling early to talk to a pretty woman." he joked, and then continued speaking. "Actually, I was wondering when you wanted to arrange a meeting so that I could hire you. If you want, you can come to my office anytime and I'll hire you then, you can fill out the various forms and such." he said. "On another note, would you like to have dinner with me later tonight?" he asked.

Re: Just another day at the office...
Chelle flipped through some of the money and pointed toward Hannah. She made a motion that was recognized as "take this to my private bank and have it deposited, after checking for counterfeit currency." She listened to Seth pleasantly and smiled to herself. Dinner? "Ooh, sorry. Can we just make it a dinner hire thing? I've a few plans for lunch. I might be able to make it in before dinner, but I'm not promising anything." She bit her lower lip, acting her part physically as well as vocally. She smiled and stood, slipping a pair of pants on, her hands grasping for a button up. It was white, and her pants were a dark denim. It was something to wear for now. She was intent on making sure her payment was exactly what she was promised. Half of the original sum.

Re: Just another day at the office...
"Very well." Khan said, sounding pleased. "We'll have it at an Italian restaurant I own." he said, giving the address. "See you then." he hang up. Azad raised an eyebrow. "Going on a date?" the Muslim man asked.
Khan shrugged. "In a way. More of a recon mission, I suppose. Alora is certainly hiding something, and I need to know what. So, I may as well find out if she's a friend or a foe." Nightkill explained. "And if a friend, useful. If a foe...I'll deal with it, though I'll regret it." he said.
Azad nodded. "Smart choice, sir. Going armed?" he asked, knowing fully well that his boss didn't actually need it.
Nightkill shrugged. "Likely not. I'll go as I am." he said.
Later that night, Nightkill had been right. It was raining a bit. But the man sat dry in the Italian restaurant, sitting at the reserved table and waiting for his guest.

Re: Just another day at the office...
Chelle was slipping a diamond dangling earring through her earlobe when she noticed the time. She cursed beneath her breath and snatched up her purse, slinging the thin metal strap over her shoulder. She allowed herself to go unarmed. She was going to admit something very dangerous to him. She just didn't know how to do it. She dashed to the elevator, bare footed. She held her stilettos in her right hand, car keys being fished with the other. She used her left foot to press the elevator button, allowing a moment to calm herself. She was freshly bathed, her skin glowing. Those melting amber hues of her's were not masked by tacky contacts. She was going as herself. Deep red lipstick painted the plump mounds of flesh. A strapless dress that had a slit up her thigh dressed her. It was a deep purple with silver designs across the bosom. Her shoes were black with an open toe. Straps for her ankles.
She slipped into her black Lamborghini, a classic gas guzzler, and cranked the machine. She sped toward the restaurant, allowing the valet to take her baby, only giving him the single spare key. She tipped him one hundred dollars to being with. She stepped into the restaurant and looked around. Her hair was loosely pulled back, a chopstick holding a messy bun into place. The natural curls framed her face, almond eyes decorated in harsh black, her lashes prettied up for this occasion. A necklace, diamonds that added a bit of pizzazz to her whole attire, was the final piece to her evening. She had put her shoes on just before getting out of the car, so she wasn't walking in barefooted. It was a busy evening, but a waitress found her and escorted her back to Seth Khan. She smiled, her pearly whites shining in the candle light. "Good to see you, Mister Khan. I'm Chelle Takeiro, it's a pleasure to meet you."
Her attire was definitely a sign that she was not just a secretary, and she was not going to be accepting his job offer. She laid down her purse and sat down, accepting the chair that was pulled out for her by either the waiter that replaced the waitress, or Seth himself.

Re: Just another day at the office...
Nightkill raised an eyebrow, examining the woman with mild surprise. "I suppose you really weren't spying on Biggot after all. Judging by how you have utterly changed your appearance, I can assume you aren't here to accept any job as a secretary." he said. "A damn shame, I needed someone to organize my schedule." he said. The handsome middle-aged man seemed tired and slightly older now, placing a hand on his head and brushing some black hair to the side.
He wore a different suit than the one he had worn yesterday, and he absent-mindedly brushed some dust off it. "Very well. What do you require from me, Ms. Takeiro?" he asked. "Rather interesting how Ms. Price happened to quit Apple just as I was there to see it..." he smiled.

Re: Just another day at the office...
She crossed her legs and allowed her elbows to lean into her right thigh. She hunched over, her chin being placed upon her left finger tips. She smirked and couldn't help but chuckle. "So, you did think it was a bit odd that someone would just quit like that, yes?" She shrugged and relaxed her figure, sitting upright and letting her hands fold in her lap. "I was hired to kill you." She said, flat out, her eyes boring into his. She was searching for his soul, if he had one. "Nightkill... So clever. You are quite the busy man, aren't you?" She cooed some of her words, her attention being drawn away by the waiter. She asked for white wine, and also ordered an alfredo tortellini stuffed with cheese and mushrooms. The waiter was patient for Seth's order, as well.

Re: Just another day at the office...
"I'll have the five cheese pasta and some Coke, please." he told the waiter. When the waiter left, he turned back to Chelle. "It did strike as being rather odd, but stranger things have happened. So I did call this dinner so that I could find out what you're hiding. Didn't expect you to just come out and tell me." he said. Then she told him she was going to kill him. "Ah. Well, I assume you decided to change your mind, since we wouldn't otherwise be having this conversation, or I rather hope so." he said. "Do you know who it was who wanted to kill me? I have many, many people trying to do so on a regular basis, trying either to kill Seth Khan, or Nightkill. Very often both." he said. He stared right back into her own eyes. His eyes would reveal some amusement and interest, but looking deeper would reveal exhaustion. What was revealed in Chelle's eyes would be a different story, if anything was shown.

Re: Just another day at the office...
She nodded, a bit grim on the subject. She thought back to yesterday, when the buyer had spoken to her over the phone. "You apparently killed his family." She shrugged and accepted the wine that was poured for her, a smile creeping her lips. She sipped the alcoholic beverage with a dainty complex. She set the glass down and started to draw within the fog that crawled along the crystal. She looked at him again, taking her eyes from the wine. She saw the amusement, and even the exhaustion within his gaze. Her own eyes would show sorrow, for him. She had no idea why. Maybe it was her own life. She had done so many wrong things, but.. sometimes it is right to do wrong. She blinked and took a slow, steady breath. "All I can really say is, he's paid me a lovely amount of money, the other half will be given to me if I complete the job, if I don't, I am to forget I even knew a single thing about you." She shrugged again, taking a second sip of her wine.

Re: Just another day at the office...
Nightkill nodded. "If he says I have, I likely have. But if I did, it was most likely necessary. I try to avoid pointless deaths." he said. "So I regret that they had to die, but I do not regret I killed them." he said quietly. "And do you know the name of the one who hired you?" he asked. "I'd rather like to deal with him, if possible. And deal with him with a minimum amount of trouble for us all."
He then leaned back in his chair. "So you are a mercenary. May I ask you a question? Why did you choose to not kill me? You had the perfect oppurnity. Several times, I'll bet. Why did you choose to not?"

Re: Just another day at the office...
"That is true.. And I must agree with you. I have killed, and I do no regret it." She paused and listened, taking her hand off of the wine. Two sips in, and she was already losing interest in it. She was actually hungry.
This is the first time in a long time that she has actually come forward with a contract. "Names are never exchanged. I am known as Mistress to those who hire me, and I call them my Employer. They give me a job, I do it. Sometimes, though, things become emotional. When this occurs, I terminate the contract.. but, because of his press to even give me more time to kill you, I've found it interesting how attached he is to you."
She sighed and looked up to see their food being carried in. She smiled to the Waiter and asked for a sweet tea to replace her wine. The request was completed, the waiter going off to fetch her a tea. "Yes. A mercenary. Questions are more than welcome," she said, cutting him off. She let him finish, a light smile creeping across her face.
"I have had perfect shots to end you. But, every time my Employer called, he seemed stressed. He was always pressing to make sure I did things right. Ended it quick. Revenge, avenge, or just cold murder.. I haven't the idea, but I'd like to think that he once knew you." She trailed off and looking down to her food, her silver fork pushing around the tortellini. "I chose not to kill you because I have been in your shoes before. Wanted dead because of a choice I made in my past."

Re: Just another day at the office...
There was quiet for a moment before Nightkill spoke. "Well, Ms. Takeiro, I thank you for informing me of this. I require you do me a favor though. I can assume this man has some way to contact you. When I first spoke to you, I sensed that you had two cell phones on your person." He said. Electrokinesis was useful when you wanted to see electrical devices. "I assume one of them is you work phone. I'll bet that your Employer will contact you with that phone eventually, so if you will, I'd like you to come with me for a while so I can use my advanced technology and track the man down."
Nightkill stared into his pasta. "Possibly I can make my apologies to him before I kill him as well. I don't enjoy what I have to do, but I understand why I must do it. You and I are similar in that way. Killing is needed for us, even if we dislike it."

Re: Just another day at the office...
Chelle nodded, gently. She was a bit sad that she was so alike to a stranger. But, it was fine. She was sure there were others like them out there. "Yes, killing isn't loved, but it is sometimes necessary means of survival... I believe he will be calling shor-" and she was cut off, a buzzing occurring in her purse. She had only brought her work phone with her, trashing the social phone after deleting all the data from it's SIM card. "Well, I'll be damned..." She said, picking up the blackberry and pressing SEND. "Yes?" she questioned, putting the phone on speaker and lying it in the middle of the table.

Re: Just another day at the office...
(Not in this one, Cain.)
"Are you close to finishing the job?" the Employer asked, and then a wire suddenly blasted out of Nightkill's arm, attaching itself to the phone. Nightkill raised an eyebrow. "Victor Khalan?" he asked, sighing. "Figured you had died ten years ago." he said.
On the other end, the voice showed a burst of panic. "Khan? Mistress, you betrayed me-"
"She did. Now shut up, Khalan. You have tried to kill me, and now I have to deal with you. I will regret this, but now I know precisely who you are, and where you are." he said. The line cut. Khan stared at his pasta for a moment, and then he stood up. The waiter was returning now, and Nightkill handed him a check. "I'll be going now, I'm afraid." he turned to Chelle. "Would you like to come and help me deal with my old friend?"

Re: Just another day at the office...
Chelle calmly watched as Nightkill used a bit of advanced technology to tap the line and find the Employer's location. It was nice to know that she was right on her hunch. They knew one another. "Lovely. I'd like to join you. Waiter, can you give me this to go?" She asked, smiling politely. She was still hungry, and that wasn't going to stop her. She turned her attention to Nightkill. "My car? Or yours?" She rose a brow and took the to-go-box and plastic utensil's she was given, along with a few napkins. She slid her work phone back into her clutch and grinned. She looked like she was ready for anything. She loved the thrill of a game like cat and mouse. "The only issue I have is the Employ- Khalan still owes me. I know I didn't finish the job, but I figure the money should still be mine. She chuckled and allowed that streak of avarice to rise to the surface, her feet leading her toward the exit.
