The talk -Invite only;Pain.-
I hate hospital’s… The smell, the too white walls with the fake happy posters plastered over them, telling you you’re going to be okay. God it makes me feel sick, Scarletta grumbled to herself as one of the nurses fluttered round her wounds frantically. Scar wanted to just get out of there, even if she didn’t have a place to go. She didn’t have a home but a posh motel sounded good at that moment. With a pool. Yeah she wanted a hotel with a pool. Away from the nurses and their worried glanced and probing questions. Not that Scar could really blame them, her mind flashed back to how she’d arrived there.
Her stomach wound had ripped back open again though thankfully the eternal bleeding had stopped due to her stitches – again praise St John Ambulance and her mother and fathers need for her to do something ‘worthwhile’ with her life. Her arm was bloody and she had bad cuts and bruises all over her body. Unfortunately though she'd protested Pain had carried her to the hospital then into the hospital and ordered she was seen straight away. Oh god it had been so embarrassing and she knew her cheeks had been a perminante shade of red when he was cradling her to his chest - so gently. She had a right to free medical care and she was on the List – thanks to her blood (half of which was all over the concrete back at the fight scene but she had enough left to kick up a fuss!) The nurses had been terrified and had wondered how she’d got that bad. She just said it was a stabbing, there were plenty around these areas and how else could she explain a blade wound? Of course that had meant she was kept in hospital for a week – a week. In which she hadn't seen anyone other than doctors and nurses. She was going mad.
And now freedom was in sight. She’d healed ‘miraculously fast’ which to Scar still seemed agonizingly slow. A week in a hospital with crappy cable TV and some sick bastard had thought it was funny to just put on Hospital Shows which showed you all the lovely things which could go wrong. She’d thrown h control out the window in annoyance. Now her insides had healed and she was on the mend. She didn’t really need to be in here anymore.
“Okay Miss Carleen,” she smiled, a hint of worry in her eyes.
“I’m fine, honest,” Scar smiled and petted the girls shoulder before putting on a pair of clean jeans and a top – she’d sent the nurse to get her clothes washed and some new ones with her money. The girl was a fashion genious. Comfy hipster jeans and a slightly baggy top so it didn’t irritate her newly healed wounds. She shimmied into them as the nurse began to beg again.
“You should talk to the police, they could catch them,” she insisted. Scarletta had a image of innocent humans vs. Chaos and shivered.
“No… I’m fine, they came off bad as well,” her lips tweaked up. They had come off bad, she’d one quiet well actually. She’d had Pain.
Scar grabbed her rucksack and waved to the jittery nurse before heading out of the hospital. The fresh wind hit her and for a moment she stood outside the hospital, breathing in the cool fresh air, letting it pick up her loose blonde hair and make it dance.
Freedom.

Re: The talk -Invite only;Pain.-
The Big Man was waiting for her outside the hospital, he didn’t wanna’ go back in that place again, he hated hospitals. Didn’t stop him from visiting her every day though, he felt guilty for her injuries, and a part of him still cared for her; even if the other part of him didn’t want to admit it. Pain was leaned up against the hospital’s wall, not too far from the entrance. He stood with his powerful arms crossed over his muscular chest, and a thick joint hung loosely between his lips; something to pass the time. He kept his head low and his eyes shut, ignoring anyone who may have been looking at him; he couldn’t care less what anyone else thought. “The hell is takin’ her so long…” He quietly mumbled to himself out of the corner of his lips before exhaling a thick cloud of gray smoke through his nostrils. ‘She said she’d be good to go and out here twenty minutes ago. Damn hospitals.’ He thought to himself as he inhaled more of the sweet smoke into his lungs. His mind was flooded with thoughts of the young girl who claimed to be his daughter, and he couldn’t help but believe it now; she looked far too much like him for it to be false. That was far from the only thing on his mind though, he couldn’t stop thinking about Raine either, and why she would hide something like that from him. On top of all that, Scarlet was in his life again, and he couldn’t help but feel like a ton of things were left unsaid; he couldn’t stop thinking of her either. The past week had been hell for him, and he spent nearly all of his time trying to be as far from sober as possible.
About two minutes passed before Scarlet came out, her long beautiful blonde hair dancing with breeze. He nodded over to her as he inhaled a heavy drag from the shriveled joint before speaking up in his rough voice. “Yo girlie, you’re late.” The Big Guy gave her a slight smirk, he was obviously teasing her. “You’re lookin’ good, better than you was in that hospital bed.” He teased her even further and a brief moment later exhaled the smoke through his nose.

"Sorry the nurse was asking me to go to the police," Scar murmured, pausing for a moment in the sunshine and arm breeze, savouring the feel of it on her exposed skin. Scarlet's eyes opened and the dark green eyes turn to a light jade green when the sun hit them. She glanced towards the voice which could only belong to one person, a smile on her lips until she spotted the smoke.
"Oh come on, outside a hospital?" she tutted and made her way over slowly. He'd carried her into the hospital, demanded service straight away and then visited her every single day she'd been in there. She'd ended up with a 'We love Pain' fan group asking her question's at every opportunity. She'd been bleeding pretty badly though and had looked like utter shit for most of the rest of the time in there. It wasn't the kind of way you' like your ex to see you. Scar gently touched her stomach, a reminder of what had happened. The long faded wound twinged in memory and she shook herself quickly; never dwell on the past.
"That's like a big Fuck You to health," she tutted slightly and began walking, not even bothering to wait for him, he could catch up the man moved as fast as she did though he took longer strides. She was on the hunt for a nice greasy Cheeseburger - hospital food sucked. Healthy crap that looked like mashed up sick with extra chunky bits. She needed real food with real taste. Pushing her back pack further up on her shoulder she glanced up at him through her thick dark eyelashes.
"I feel better.. How about you? How're you holding up?" she asked the question softly, genuine concern in her voice. She wasn't talking about the physical injuries that was for sure; considering he had none whatsoever.

Re: The talk -Invite only;Pain.-
“You know me.” Pain chucked softly at her, his bright blue eyes staying locked onto her as she began walking away from him. She was truly an attractive woman all around; it was difficult for him to not look at her. “Ain’t gotta’ worry about health.” He stated playfully in his rough voice as he continued to puff on what little was left of his joint. The Big Guy uncrossed his arms, began walking after her and quickly fell into step with her. His big hands moved to dig into his pockets as he walked beside her with somewhat poor posture. He wasn’t sure where they were headed, but he hoped they were off to get something to eat; his stomach had been growling for awhile now.
She looked over at him with her luscious green eyes, both looking and sounding very concerned about him. He exhaled a cloud of smoke out of his nose before replying. “Good to hear, and me, well, I’m holdin’ up alright.” He removed his right hand from his pocket, moving it to grip the tiny joint in between his lips. One last big puff was taken before he tossed it to the floor. The same hand then moved to rub the back of his neck, he really wasn’t doing that alright, but he wasn’t about to dump all his problems on her. He had a lot on his mind, and it was fairly obvious despite him trying to hide it. His hand moved back into his pocket, exhaling the last hit he took out of the corner of his lips and aiming the smoke away from her. “How ‘bout we get somethin’ to eat.”

Re: The talk -Invite only;Pain.-
"Where d'ya think I'm going?" Scar snorted and easily skipped out of the way of a mother and her screaming, ice-cream covered children, walking single file in front of Pain till the traffic had passed and then sliding back to his side with little concentration or effort.
"You haven't been force fed what can only be described as sick for the past week," she pulled a face at him. "Oh no, you've been out here in the world of good food - Oh! Burgers how I have missed you," she exclaimed, cutting off on her rant when she spotted a burger bar. She cared for him sure but there was nothing in her stomach and she needed food to help. Besides, the big guy said he was hungry. Food then talk.
The burger place smelled like haven to Scar who had been stuck in a building that smelled of blood and disinfectant. She breathed it in over-dramatically and flashed the guy a big grin.
"I'm sorry, you're stuck with a girl who can out eat you - sucks to be you right this moment," she winked playfully. She was a bundle of energy and happiness now that she was out and better yet he'd actually waited for her. She hummed as she wondered over to the bar and went on her tip toes so she could rest her arms on the counter, bouncing up onto the balls of her feet. Scar was a small woman, 5ft 5, and the counter was large - which seemed appropriate as the girls seemed to be in 5 inch heels and the guys were at least 6ft plus. She hadn't noticed the girl staring wide eyed at Pain like one of the Fan Group.
"The biggest burger you have please with everything on it and fries please," she said in her Southern English accent, glancing up at the man filling out her order with bright eyes. If he was looking at her in any way she didn't notice, the food was coming!
"And a banana milkshake please," she added and then glanced to her companion. "And you Brock?" she blinked lazily, her food was on it's way she could stay here all day now.

Re: The talk -Invite only;Pain.-
The Big Guy shrugged and replied in his rough voice, "Guess to get some food." He slowed his pace just a bit to allow Scarlet to step in front of him until they passed the annoying family. He just ignored them and fell back into step with her, listening to her talk about food. Man, this gal really liked food, but not as much as he did, and a burger sounded great at the moment. He followed her into the burger shack and couldn't help but smile at the way she acted. It was nice to see her that happy, she seemed so miserable for the past week. Though he could tell that when he visited her it did cheer her up a lot; couldn't blame the gal for hating hospitals. "Out eat me?" He softly chuckled at her, yeah right, like anyone could out eat him; especially not her. "I doubt that Scar." He finished with a slight smirk as he followed her over to the bar. He stood barely a foot behind the significantly smaller woman, towering over her as he waited for her to order. Out of the corner of his eye he noticed another young woman staring at him very oddly, almost like she wanted to attack him and tear his clothes off. It was one of those looks that just made it obvious what the person was thinking; didn't take a genius to figure that out. Pain chose to ignore it, he was used to the attention and thought little of it. All he cared about right now was getting rid of this stupid pain in his chest. He couldn't shake this pain, but it wasn't a physical wound or anything like that, it was something much deeper. Something that his healing abilities or super human body could not stand up against, and that was heartache. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't stop thinking about everything. Seeing that picture of Raine, finding out he had a fucking daughter with the woman, finding out he'd been left in the dark for more than nineteen years, beating the shit out of his own flesh and blood, telling her he wasn't her father and being so cruel, and on top of all that now Scarlet was back in his life; the least of his worries right now was Chaos. He couldn't put his finger on this feeling, but it was dark, he felt cold and like he was dying on the inside; depressed to sum it up.
The Big Man couldn't let it keep him down though, he couldn't let it stop him from his responsibilities, he couldn't let it destroy him, but this was one of the most difficult things he had ever faced. All this thinking made him lose his appetite, and he was completely zoned out until Scarlet said his name; his real name. That pissed him off, he was Pain, that was his name to everyone else, no one was allowed to know his goddamn name. He scowled in frustration, but he couldn't get that mad at her. It's not like she meant to piss him off, but that didn't change the fact that it happened, and that everyone around heard her. He was an extremely famous man, and now these civilians knew his true name; what if that got out? Then the whole world would know. Pain shook his head at her, replying somewhat coldly to her in his gruff voice. "I'm good." His icy blue eyes drifted off to look out the window, staring off into the street and beginning to lose himself in his thoughts once again. He wanted to say something to her about saying his name, but that would just drag even more attention from the people around; he'd bite his tongue until they could talk in private.

Re: The talk -Invite only;Pain.-
Scarlet winced at the ice cold tone and inwardly sighed. She'd forgotten he was so famous round here. She was use to people being less well known, under cover, doing work in the lines under the cities she'd visited, especially in Rome. Well she felt bad till she caught the bitch's look. Her lips twisted down and her eyebrows knitted together slightly, a crease forming in-between her eyebrows. She didn't like people staring at Pain as it was but when they looked at him like that and openly... She didn't trust those kind girls, no idea what kinda crabs they had lurking down below. Ignoring his request for no food she ordered another cheese burger and fries, took the order and then - openly and in public - took Pain's hand and lead him out of the burger place. The look on the woman's face was perfect and priceless. Shock, anger, annoyance and jealousy. Scar resisted the urge to stick her tongue out at the woman and flip her off.
"I'm sorry.. I completely forgot about how well you're known round here... I haven't hung out with a Super whose well known in a while," she mumbled softly, walking towards one of the quest spots in the city; the park. Most people were at school and work at this time. She held her bag to her stomach protectively until she found a tree which provided some shelter from the rest of the park and sat down carefully, handing him his cheese burger.
"You need to eat..." she said softly, watching his reactions. "Or I will end up out eating you," she nudged him gently, playfully. She didn't like to see him so sad. She popped a fry in her mouth and chewed before attacking.
"Don't lie to me in future Pain, you're not doing well, you've got that far away look in your eyes and you look miserable. So what''s upsetting you the most? Raine and Paine?" she guessed. "Talk to me," she popped another fry in her mouth.

Re: The talk -Invite only;Pain.-
Maybe he had been a bit harsh, and he was definitely lying about not being hungry. The Big Guy hadn’t eaten much for the past week, he would never starve himself but this whole thing messed with his appetite. All he could do was try to stop thinking, and just enjoy a decent meal. Even for a superhuman, that couldn’t have been good to do to himself. Pain felt his stomach growl, and was a little glad she ignored him and ordered anyway. Sometimes he was just too damn stubborn, even he noticed it, but even if he seemed annoyed, it was a good thing someone was fighting to get through that thick skull of his. His bright blue eyes drifted from the window, moving back over to Scarlet, and the look on her face was a little amusing. She looked pissed, glaring viciously at another woman who was eying him up. What she did next surprised him even more, taking his hand and dragging him out of the burger shack. He didn’t stop her or hesitate to follow, but his expression was clearly puzzled, optics darting back and forth between the two women. It almost looked like a fight was going to break out, but thankfully the woman didn’t follow them after their quick departure. He couldn’t help but wonder what the hell that was, and why Scarlet was claiming him like that; man he’d never understand women.
He wasn’t sure where she was taking him, but he didn’t really care at this point. Pain trailed behind her, being pulled by her to wherever she was headed. ”Don’t worry about it.” He stated calmly in reply to her, feeling almost like he was taking things out on her. Turns out she was dragging him to the nearby park, which sounded pretty nice actually; at this hour it was mostly empty. He took a seat beside her on the bench, a seat he normally came to due to the massive tree hanging over it; he liked the shade. He took the bag of food from her, placed it on his lap and gave a weak smile. When she nudged him, he softly chuckled at her statement. “Ain’t gonna’ let that happen now.” He dug his hand down into the bag and pulled out his burger, which he quickly unwrapped and brought to his lips for a massive bite. It’d probably take four or five more bites like that to finish it, but he still had to chew. With his mouth full and closed, he looked over at Scarlet, who was eating a couple of fries. He finished chewing before replying calmly in his rough voice. “I wasn’t lyin’ Scar, I’m doin’ alright, but I’ve had better days.” He moved to take another massive bite from his burger, quickly devouring almost half of it in two bites. He winced when she mentioned their names, and once again waited to finish chewing before speaking up. It was nice that she was concerned about him, but he didn’t need anyone but himself to get through this; at least that’s what he thought. She told him to talk, and he really didn’t know where to start or even wanted to. ”It’s been a long week, living with this, it’s been a long time since I felt so sick. I appreciate it, its nice knowin’ someone cares, but I ain’t about to dump my problems on ya’.” He finished speaking and went back to devouring his burger; it wouldn’t last much longer with the way he ate. “I can handle this on my own.” He stated calmly after he gulped down another bite.

Re: The talk -Invite only;Pain.-
Scarlet pulled her bottom lip between her teeth and chewed it slowly as she watched him, her food now forgotten. She was worried about him and the milkshake was filling so she sipped that and nibbled on the fries. When he finished she offered him her burger.
"I'll take the fries you have the burgers," she stated, placing the much larger burger in his lap and going back to her fries and shake. She watched his reactions before thinking of what to say next.
"I'm not just anyone Brock..." she said softly, looking at him straight in the eyes. "We may not have been together long but I'd hoped I'd at least become your friend. I'm not going to let you do this on your own, nobody should do this alone it is a lot to deal with. I know you're holdin' up," she mimicked his phrase. "but sometimes even Batman needs to just have a break and let some secrets out - he had the butler. Well you have me and all those other guys who look up to you," she played with the hem of her frayed jeans and plucked at them, letting them flutter to the floor. She was staring at the rest of the park now. It was beautiful. Lush green grasses and flowers which swayed in the breezes. It looked like a place to relax and to watch people have a good time without worrying about things like they did. She took a deep breath, preparing herself for asking a question to which she wasn't sure she wanted an answer.
"I'm not mad at you, like I said the other day, I'm not mad at all... Just..." she looked up at him then through her thick eyelashes. "I don't see why you..." she winced. She'd been hurt, badly when he had dumped her. She'd gone back to their room straight away, packed her stuff and just left. Gone to England, Russia, Italy, Greece... She cleared her throat.
"Why did you dump me Brock?"

Re: The talk -Invite only;Pain.-
Pain enjoyed the final bite of his burger, swallowing what little was left of it in one big chomp. He brushed his hands off and wiped off his lips using his forearm before flashing a smirk at her. “Deal, thanks for the burgers girlie.” He took her burger off his lap and brought it to his lips to take another massive bite. She considered him a friend, really? After all the shit he put her through she still thought of them as close? She really did care huh? That made him feel a little better, knowing someone out there could put up with the monster he was. Though something felt wrong, calling her his friend didn’t feel right; something in his gut said that they were not meant to be friends. He pushed all his thoughts on everything else to the back of his mind as best he could and just focused on Scarlet; she deserved his full attention, it was the least he could do. He took one more bite before tossing the burger over his shoulder off somewhere far behind him, they wouldn’t ever being seeing that thing again. “I appreciate that Scar.. I really do, but this ain’t your problem, it’s mine. A man should deal with his own burden, alone, that’s what makes him a man.” He turned to her, giving a subtle and sincere smile before speaking out in his rough voice again. “Havin’ you around, that’s all the help I need.”
While her eyes darted about the park admiring her surroundings, his focused on her. It was far from the usual lecherous look he gave, he was truly admiring her beauty. Her skin stretched perfectly over perfect placed bones that shamed the greatest architects. Her luscious green eyes more powerful and vibrant than any he had seen in a long time. When it came to a woman, the eyes were the most important and green had been his favorite kind. His eyes darted from her and moved to the landscape, the park was a nice place, but he had been here far too many times for it to impress him anymore. He listened with a heavy heart as she spoke, knowing exactly what question was coming next. When she asked him, he closed his eyes and inhaled a deep breath through his nose. He knew it had to come up, but he had hoped it wouldn’t be so soon. Couldn’t blame her though, he would have done the same thing in her position; no one likes to be left in the dark. He exhaled a deep breath and revealed his bright blue optics to her, aligning them with hers. “Cause I’m just good for a one night stand, and I can't control this monster I am..” His eyes cut away from hers, looking down to his left hand resting on the ground. “I’m…Sorry for hurting you. You deserved better than that. ”

Re: The talk -Invite only;Pain.-
Scarletta couldn't look at him. She was scared he was going to say he had only wanted a one night stand and her stomach began to clench as he breathed out. She managed to force her eyes back on him when he began speaking and she tilted her chin up slightly hoping to show she wasn't going to be effected by his answer. She was stubborn as well and she didn't want him to know how much it had hurt. However what he said made her double take. He'd fallen in love with her? Her heart raced and it felt like she was flying. He'd loved her! It felt childish and silly but she was a woman who didn't sleep around and had only fallen in 'love' twice times. Pain and another guy a long time ago. She closed that thought off quickly
"You're not a monster Brock..." she said softly and lightly touched his hand which had torn up a hole in the ground. She was looking at her hand and his now. She carefully unpried his fingers and let the earth fall back into place, delicately holding his hand in hers for a moment. "You're far from a monster," she said softly and looked up into his eyes, she looked sad. She hated he thought that about himself. Her eyes ran over his face, the way his emotions fought with him flickered over his face, showing his internal battle. She felt awful, he had a lot to deal with already he didn't need her asking questions and fucking him up worse. She'd seen his reaction with Paine and this Raine woman. She must of really hurt him.
"You have not fucked up being a father," she gently cupped his cheek and looked into his eyes. "Brock you have not fucked up anything... Do you hear me?" she frowned then. She didn't like the idea of him blaming himself for anything. She wanted to make his pain go away. Odd... she wanted to make Pain forget pain. She realized how close she was to him and her heart sped up slightly. She was mere inches away from his face. She paused but her heart was soaring high and she had nothing else to loose. She leaned forward and lightly kissed him, just a soft brush with her lips, a little added pressure to show she meant it and then she pulled back slightly, her cheeks red.
"I told you I'd be there for you and I'll be there for you anyway you want me to be there for you. I've never stopped loving you Brock even if you did what you did, I don't care," she spoke softly, looking directly into his eyes. Whatever his reaction was going to be she'd respect it but she had made it perfectly clear how she felt. There was no denying it.

Re: The talk -Invite only;Pain.-
Pain nearly instantly dropped the chunk of earth when he felt her soft hand touch his. Though the feeling was numb, he knew it was there, it was all too familiar and comforting. His bright blue optics lifted back up to view her beautiful green eyes, gazing into them in a bit of a daze. Though he already knew she thought highly of him, it was nice to hear her say all that. Right now he was just feeling sorry for himself; he needed to just get over it and move forward. Now going about that was the difficult part. Scarlet seemed very concerned about him, to the point it was obviously upsetting her. It was kinda’ nice to have someone care like that. Maybe he wasn’t so bad after all, like always he was just being too hard on himself. He softly shook his head as a subtle smirk came to his face, “Yeah I hear ya’,” He had noticed her slowly drawing in closer to him, but thought little of it and said nothing. The Big Man was taken by surprise, her bold move was completely unexpected, his eyes widening for a brief moment before lulling to a close. It was a short, but sweet moment, feeling her soft warm lips pressed against his reminded him of all the time they spent together. You’d figure she wouldn’t want anything to do with him, but it’s obviously the opposite. He didn’t really want to jump into anything and screw everything up, but this was nice, having her around was nice..
Pain’s icy blue eyes opened up to view Scarlet turning bright red, kind of funny, for such a bold woman she sure was nervous around him. He liked that though, he had always been able to make a woman weak at her knees, but this was a little different, it felt deeper. He listened to her words very carefully, but found it difficult to believe she could’ve kept loving him all this time. Well, a part of him did, the part of him that always wants to push everything and everyone away, the part that protects him from being abandoned. Her words seemed sincere and true, they were difficult to deny, even for a man as stubborn as Pain. “Thank you Scarlet.” Was all he could really muster up off the top of his head, he wasn’t really sure what to say. “I’d like for you to stick around, but Scar how-…How could you keep loving me?.” His curiosity got the best of him, he just had to know. Why didn’t she move on, she could’ve found something better..

Re: The talk -Invite only;Pain.-
Scar was glad he didn't pull away, that had been her main worry and she'd been left with hurt pride as well as humiliation. He could have moved on, could have found someone else but no. It made her feel as light as a feather. It felt like there was an ease in the tension around her now and she relaxed back , crossing her legs as she began plucking at the grass, despite her hayfever. She use to to it all the time, it helped her think and she wasn't sure exactly how to answer Brock's question. She just Did.
"I did try," she said slowly to begin with. Oh hell she had tried to much. "Trust me I did. I was so annoyed you just ended it then went of to fight, just like that. I didn't want to bring the team down especially Faith - no idea where she is know," she paused and glanced up at him to see if he knew before carrying on. "I just left. Trust me I tried to hard to find someone else. Went on dates, joined some new secret agency who works in the pipelines, threw myself into that. Got a lovely partner but it just..." she wrinkled her nose up. "I know this sounds cheesy but it did't feel the same. It just felt like he was my friend and that was that. None of the other guys took my interest, they were either immature or just not... right," she took a breath. "I don't know, I really don't. Maybe because you were the first person whoever just stopped and took notice of me for who I was, not because I had an angel, not because I could apparently produce demon children, or anything stupid like that. You didn't see me as something to use as a weapon," she sighed softly. "I guess being with Faith rubbed off on me," she muttered and rubbed the back of her neck, looking up at the clouds. She could imagine Faith's response to this. An I told you so and a string of laughter probably.
Bloody angel.

Re: The talk -Invite only;Pain.-
Pain had to be honest with himself, he still very much had a soft spot for this woman, but he was not ready to consider it love and did not cling onto it while they were separated. He didn’t wait for her, and expected the same from her. The Big Guy respectfully remained quiet while Scarlet spoke. His eyes had moved away from her and stared off over her shoulder while he listened to everything she said with a bit of a guilty conscious. As she continued, he felt even more like a jackass, she was a very sweet woman and he just tore her heart out. After all this time she still cared for him like that? He wasn’t sure of anything right now, his head was in such a mess, he couldn’t even think right. Pain didn’t really question if it was the truth though, for some reason he trusted Scarlet; guess that’s what made being around her so nice. His eyes darted back to look into hers, and he wasn’t sure what to say to her; he was at a loss for words. Scarletta was one of the few women in his life he felt like he could trust, and the only one currently.
He took in a short breath through his nose before speaking up in his rough voice. “I’m sure I ain’t the only one who saw more than that Scar. It’d take a real idiot to not see that.” Pain exhaled a deep breath before rising back to his feet. The Big Man just went with his gut and moved in front of Scarlet. He extended his massive hand down to her, offering to help her back to her feet. “I hope you weren’t waiting long, and I hope this night makes up for time lost.” He said softly as he smirked down at her, waiting for her hand. He had no idea what he was going to do to make it up to her, so he guessed he would just roll with things and hope for the best. He wasn’t exactly the romantic type, so if this worked out, he hoped she would be able to make up for him in that department. The only thing Pain feared right now is this backfiring, but he kept confident, standing tall and proud before her. ‘Worst case scenario, fuck it, I been in worse.’ He thought to himself.

Re: The talk -Invite only;Pain.-
Scar decided to let the idea of others seeing her for her slide. She knew she didn't have a lot of self confidence, probably due to the lack of a parent model and perhaps due to the drug-dealing brother who came home and hurled abuse at her at 6 years old for not washing a shirt he'd only taken off the previous day. Maybe it was due to the bitches at school who tossed her books on the floor, knocked her lunch off the table and laughed. Maybe it was due to her professors thinking she acted out because she didn't get her way, because her parents were rich. Maybe it was because people friended her because they saw a price-tag over her head and a cool place to hang out rather than her. Maybe it was anyone of those reasons or all of them. So letting the comment slide was probably a good thing to do rather than get into one of those annoying arguments teenagers had.
"Thanks," she murmured in response and placed her delicate and small hand into his large one before allowing him to help her to her feet. She brought her feet under him and pushed lightly added with the pull Pain had on her hand she rolled nimbly onto the balls of her feet. She had to tilt her head up to look at him in the eyes and her eyebrows lifted at the words and her lips curled up into a smile. He was promising her a night of just them two which was something she deeply needed, if they were friends or more than that. Or friends with benefits. Someone to just talk to and have a laugh with..
"Huh I owe you dinner don't I?" she mused, remembering the deal she'd struck when the pebble had hit Chaos. "So where do you want to eat dinner?" she picked up the small bag she had brought from her travels, letting it bounce against her back as she slid one arm into the straps.
"Or do you have a plan already?" a teasing smile now. The seriousness was over, now it was more of a time to have fun.
