Deluge in New York, once again.(open) Empty Deluge in New York, once again.(open)

Post by Arcana September 27th 2011, 9:31 pm

The moon was a pale sickly white, well what moon shone in New York anyway. Though its light was lost on the lights of the city that never slept. Pure luminescence that permeated the night sky, even blocking out the great stars that dotted the heavens. Making the sky a black dome overhead, seeming almost endless. Sean sighed, enjoying the cold night air, as his breath came out in a transparent white cloud. That quickly faded away, as if it never was there. It had been a while seince he had been to New York, but it was nice to be home. He loved the big city, with all its big lights. His black, and white converse tapping against the sidewalk, in a melidous manner. Head swaying side to side, though it drew attention. Though who wouldn't look to the short punk swaying with headphones plugged deeply into his ears. Hair a black streaked with blonde seeming somewhat luminescent in the streetlight.

He wore a graphic tee with a large grinning skull on it, colors splattered on it. Jean tight, and faded blue with ripped up knees that seemed somewhat ragged. yet had a certain style to them. It worked for hima anyway, so he thought. People didn't tell him differenlty, so it was all good. On his back was a thick black bag that held his favorite gear for hero work. Made himself, so they were pretty useful in a fight. Sean looked down at the newspaper almost forgotten in his hand, another headline story about the great hero Pain. As well as something minor about the weird party, though that had past a while ago. Now he was just getting by. Rent for the large apartment he had managed was beggining to take its toll, as well as his cellphone, and food. Though the alcohol was not a big help at all.

Considering he found it a necessity to get pissfaced drunk every night. Stumble back into his home with man in tow, and you can quess where that leads. Usually he woke up in their arms, but sometimes they were gone. Either way didn't affect him in the least. Alice usually was asleep by then, so that made things okay too. A convenience store was around the corner, which was a much needed relief. Well it was more accross a walk, and on a corner. Though that was close enough. Waiting for the signal, he walked across the walk, making his way through the door. Picking out a just a simple sprite, and a bag of chips. His stomach growling in need, as he quickly payed for it with a crinkled five. Smiling he moved to walk out, though he heard a gunshot behind him, and a man pushing him away as he ran past. Mask over his head, which meant he had just witnessed a robbery."Just fucking brillant, can't a guy get a break?" Sean grumbled to himself, as he shoved the food in his back pack, and chased after him.

His city.

That's what New York was. It was his city, and he loved it. Nightkill looked around with a smile, examining the city and all it's wonders. And in some cases... Nightkill sighed, hearing a gunshot and a man running off, going by Nightkill. The man- and that is what he considered him, just a man- sighed, and ran after him. Not at super speeds, but quick enough to catch up.

The man fired at Nightkill, who quickly moved to the speed, briefly moving super fast. He could not afford to be hit by a bullet. Those things had the terrible habit of killing you when you least wanted it.

Nightkill was soon right behind the robber, who tried firing again, to no avail. His gun was jammed. While trying to fix the problem, Nightkill had grabbed his wrist, and threw the gun away to the side. He then punched the man once in the stomach, enough to double him over. Nightkill then saw a young man, a teenager of somewhere between 16 and 19, running after him.

"Ah, good to see you." he said. "Can you do me the favor of calling the police?" The robber lay on the ground, breathing heavily. "Not that we need backup."

Deluge in New York, once again.(open) Empty Re: Deluge in New York, once again.(open)

Post by Arcana September 28th 2011, 4:38 pm

Sean ran at full speed after the man, which he knew was faster than the guy could muster, but he had the advantage of being ahead. Still that wouldn't help him for long, not if Sean had anything to say about that. Strands of hair threatened to fly into his eye, though he ignored it, as hsi eyes narrowed on the guy with a gun. Why was he running after him again? That gun could kill him, yet he ran. For a guy so smart, Sean tended to act like an idiot. Something fast ran pst him, quickl dispatching the strange man quickly. Sean gulped, as the man turned. Asking himt to callt he police, which he planned to. Pulling a quant looking cellphone from his pocket, flipping it open.

Quickly dialing 911, and telling the location for the police. Closing the cellphone with a clip, and sticking it back into his pocket Taking a small chip form his bag, and nibbling on it lightly."That was pretty cool what you did. You a hero, or somethin?" Sean questioned plainly, speaking in the comfortable manner he was accustomed to. Taking another chip, gnawing on it tenativly. As he waited for an answer, evaluating the strange man. Raising a periced eyebrow, as he took a quick swig of his sprite.

"Not a hero, just a man." Nightkill replied. The robber wasn't going anywhere, but Nightkill gave him a gentle THWACK on the head just in case. The man was soon out cold, and he nodded to another bystander. "Mind talking to the police for me? You can take the credit for this, I don't really care." he said.

He turned to Sean. "You want some coffee? I know an excellent coffee shop close by." he said. He then spoke in a quieter voice so only Sean could hear."And you seem to be a boy interested in superhumans. It'll give us a chance to talk." he said. Nightkill had guessed that the boy in front of him was a superhuman. It was really just a hunch, but his hunches tended to be correct. If it was correct, Nightkill would be rather proud of himself.

Sean was only more curious about the strange man who had taken out that guy with ease. Though he didn't put too much thought into it Eyes narrowing on the bystander who was most likely to get all the credit, but he didn't care. The cops wanted him anyway, so it was better this way."Sure, coffee sounds good." Sean answered him absently. Though his statement that came next was like a blow to the gut, though he hid that well. This guy was smarter than he seemed. Nodding Sean made sure his poker face was up, as he waited to be lead to this coffee shop. Now somewhat wary of the strange man he had just met.

Deluge in New York, once again.(open) Empty Re: Deluge in New York, once again.(open)

Post by Hermes_kun September 29th 2011, 9:53 pm

It had been a week since Adrian had entered this time, and currently was facing a dilemma. He had no contacts, which was a problem, there was no way he could get anywhere with his plans without them. He was walking down the side walk, wearing a black suit with a white undershirt and black tie. Then something came to his attention, there was a bunch of people crowded around something. He walked up to the crowd just in time to see the end of what appeared to be a very short fight.

The man who disposed of the robber seemed to interest him, especially when he turned down the claim of being a hero, hopefully he was someone who could help him. Deciding to tail the man, he stood at the back of the crowd to make sure he wouldn't get a good look at him, waiting for him to make his next move.

They walked to the nearest Dunkin Donuts.

There were many cops there, but none of them were paying attention to anything except their food. Nightkill sat himself and the boy at the farthest table. He went up to the counter, and got a coffee for himself and the boy. He picked the first item on the list, not really picky on the taste. That wasn't really why they were here anyway.

He turned to Sean. "Let's start things off. What's your name?"

Sean walked in with Nightkill into the shop, ordering a small coffee, and a single chocolate frosted donut. He was lead to the farthest table, as he sat down. Placing his large backpack down on the checkered floor. As he took a huge bite of the donut, not wanting to reveal to the man his name. Though he was taught it was rude to just flatout deny someone who was hospitable to you. Still, Sean didn't want to give his name out like he gave certain other things. Especially to strange men who knock people out. So he went with a simple solution to his problem, as he took a sip of his warm coffee."You can call me Deluge. I've just met you, so I can't be too forthcoming with my name." He explained simply, taking another bite of his donut.

Following 20 paces behind the pair, he quickly reached a Dunkin' Donuts, which he watched the other two enter. He examined the building, it was full of cops... that wasn't good, especially if those two turned out to be super heroes, he knew that if they were, they would definitely misunderstand his goals.

Normally not one for random destruction, he couldn't think of a better way to gauge the two. So, he walked inside, "how may I help you" asked a teenage girl at the counter.

"You can give me all your money" he said, as his sleeves burned away, leaving only his energy braces.

Nightkill raised an eyebrow, and turned to Deluge. "I believe that should be dealt with, don't you?" he asked him. Not waiting for an answer, he started standing up.

The cops, however, had already put their guns up and pointed at the strange man stating he would rob Dunkin Donuts. Which was a stupid move, who the hell tried to rob a Dunkin Donuts? There were so many cops there you'd have better lack robbing the police headquarters...

"Stand down, son." one cop with a mustache - why do cops always have mustaches- said in a deep voice. "Nobody has to get hurt."

Sean looked to the strange man preparing to rob the shop. Which was not too smart of a move, considering the amount of officers in there. Though he had to admit, the guy had guts for even attempting to rob the place. Though that still didn't lessen the stupidity of what he was doing. There was no way he would get out of this easily. This does not have a good feeling to it at all." Sean thought to himself a little annoyed, as he thought over the best strategy to go in this situation. There would be no easy way, so he would be stuck with what was handed. So he simply would let this play out, and try to get the hell out if he could. This was closer to officers than he felt comfortable being."Yeah, I guess we should." Sean said weakly with a well faked smile.

Adrian simply smirked in response to the cops demand. Quickly scanning the room, he saw that most of the cops were sitting on one side of the shop, while two sitting on the opposite side. Not wanting to kill anyone, but knowing he couldn't take all the cops, he merely grabbed the girl across the counter by her collar.

"You're right, no one does have to get hurt. So why don't you all put down your weapons and walk out of here." he commanded as his bracer began to glow.

Nightkill didn't stand up or do anything fancy to attract attention to himself. But the lights in the building all flashed on and off. Then the electricity from the lights all flowed into a small ball levitating over the robber's head. The cops all stared at it in shock, and then Nightkill changed into an alien form while everyone's attention was focused otherwise.

He stood up, and stood near the robber, the ball of energy now in his hand. "That's precisely correct. Nobody has to get hurt. Now, you are outclassed and outmatched. I suggest you give up now and turn yourself in."

Sean sighed deeply as the man took a hostage. This was not going to help his case in the least. Eyes quickly darting over to Nightkill as he changed into a scorion, which was odd. Causing him to double back, quickly making some distance between them. he had heard of a scorpion before, and that person had one name attached to that visage. It was Nightkill, a villain he had heard of once before. Since he was a villain, that meant Sean had to defeat him right? He was supposed to be a hero afterall. He was a villain Yet he was trying to stop a robberry? That made no sense, and was only more confusion for him.

Quickly his eyes darted around, giving the simple command. As water condensed form the air, spouted from any opening as it began to rapidly flood the store. Slickening the floor, and quickly reaching Sean, and Nightkill. Going upto his knees, but not rushing out the door. Though the water didn't soak Sean in the least. It caused the people to react as he expected, turning to see the scorpion, and panic ensued.
