League of Rouges

The League of Rouges ((OOC: Name is subject to change))

Johnny Snow sat in front of the running camera in his villain costume, a normal parka with a plethora of gadgets on the inside and a pair of square glasses to protect his eyes. The man was nervous and a little withdrawn being on the shooting end of the contraption and shifted his gaze to the giant half human half crocodile man standing off to the side. “I don’t see exactly why I need to be the one on the video. Won’t this be your organization anyway?” Johnny asked with a slight quiver in his voice.

“I’ve already told you,” Reginald said with a slightly exhausted tone to his voice. Sighing briefly, he then re-explained why the other man was doing what he was doing at the moment, “I want you to be my front man for the group. Put simply, I do not want my presence associated with a league of,” he paused for a moment to find the proper term before he again continued, “less than reputable people. Are we at an understanding?” The question was soft but it carried the hidden tone very well, there were to be no more questions asked.

Not wanting to anger his employer, Johnny had seen what happened to people that made the boss mad, he decided to do as he was told and took a deep breath in and began to try and control himself. Watching his boss talk to the man directing the ‘film’ he knew it was almost time for things to get moving. There was a pause with everyone present and then a man spoke.

“Alright, quiet on set,” he then brought up what looked to be a rectangle, Johnny had a hard time seeing it with the bright lights on him, and began to count aloud. “Five, four, three, two,” He yelled at the top of his lungs and then motioned to Johnny, giving him the go ahead to begin his prepared speech.

Johnny said the words just as they were written by Reginald, “Hello, if you are watching this then that means you have been chosen as a potential member of a new league. What is this league called or about, you may ask. It is a league set to topple the old order of heroes keeping all the glory to themselves and our name will be The League of Rouges, I’ll be getting to the reasoning for the name in a little bit.

“First things first, while I say toppling the old order what I mean is the destruction of the heroes that have unjustly pushed us to the side. The people that claim to be helping the world but while they do this many people, myself included, sit on the side lines being taken advantage of and I will tolerate this no longer. For a long time I was an upstanding member of society constantly being broken down by those with money and it’s not until I finally stand up for myself that any action is taken but now it’s against me. In this world I cannot defend myself but they get away with putting everyone else down. I have a way of changing this though.

“And now, onto the naming of this group which is very simple. I am recruiting people to work with me in my endeavors to overthrow the old oppressors. We will be the rouges that do to them what for so long they have been doing to us by turning the tables on them. This will not be an exactly pleasant ordeal for them and I hold no illusions that this league will go forward with no blood spilt because through revolution good and bad things must happen for any progress to be made. That leaves one final question, whose blood will it be that hits the ground, ours or theirs?

“The address to your designated meeting spot will be on the piece of paper that was included with this disc. I will not offer this position again and it should be known that I am not a patient man. You have just been given the offer of a life time and now the ball is in your court. Choose wisely,” and with the end of his speech said the cameras shut off and everyone gave a round of applause though some less enthusiastically then others, people who had listened to the speech more closely were not happy about what they had heard. Johnny Snow walked off the stage, he was just happy for everything to be over and done with, and over to his boss. “Was that good enough, boss?” he asked hoping that he would not have to get in front of the cameras again.

“That was marvelous, my boy,” Gentleman Crocodile said with a slap on the smaller man’s back, almost knocking him down in the process. As the small man regained his balance the crocodile-man led him to the door without so much as batting an eye at what he was doing. Johnny obediently followed without asking a single question. As the two exited the building Reginald snapped his fingers and mercenaries began to march into the building guns ready to fire and not letting a single person in the studio to leave. With the two villains seated in the stretch limo, with an extra tall ceiling, the sound of gunshot after gunshot could be heard with the faint sound of screaming coming from the supposedly soundproof set. “The ad for this lot said soundproof,” the crocodile man said with a hint of anger gracing his voice. “Let this be a lesson always check the facts, alright Johnny.”

“Yes sir, boss,” and with that said the limo began to pull away from the lot and head off to scout more talent to bring into the upcoming organization. The sun was setting and a new horizon was coming into view but there was no rainbow wrapped around this bright and shining world to come. Things would be changing but almost most definitely not for the best.

((OOC: Alright here’s how things are going to work for this group; you’ll all be posting as if it were a topic and you’ve just received the disc mysteriously in the mail. All locations that were mentioned will be different and you don’t have to be in a certain state to receive one, so your location can be wherever you like. Also no one will, as of now, know that Gentleman Crocodile is leading the group, some people will be told but if you think your character would know for some reason ask me first. Remember post here as though it were a topic and if you have a question ask me in the c-box or PM me if I’m not there. Thank you for your interest in my group. ))
