Re: Sometimes... Life just Sucks.
Alice bounced her legs nervously as she waited for the verdict... was she going to be let go... or was she going to court. And then... the verdict. She looked up at the sound of footsteps, seeing a middleage police officer seemingly trying to stare her down. She put on a brave face, though the fear still showed in her eyes. At his words though, she felt tears prickle at her eyes. She blinked them away quickly, trying not to appear too vurnerable... besides... she was sure the evidence would be on her side.... kinda. If she wasn't so panicky right now, she'd probably realize that something was off.... unfortunately... no. And so she stared at the cop, nervousness in the very fiber of her being currently.

Re: Sometimes... Life just Sucks.
Sachin watched a middle-aged cop walk past him, and then the Asian girl be taken away. He gave the girl an encouraging thumbs up. He was sure that they would get away with it, in his mind that got it's law information from TV shows and comic books.
Actually, the hero was always found guilty, then he had to break out and find some evidence proving he didn't do it. But this was real life, it didn't work exactly like that. In any case, HE would be safe, and the reporter-should probably get her number-, and probably the Asian girl as well. The testimonies would line up, and he was pretty sure the shapeshifter was dead. He had shot the mirror, after all. He waved at a police officer. "Can I have a laptop?" he asked. The officer facepalmed and ignored him. Sachin was annoyed. He just wanted to listen to some songs. He was getting quite bored in the jail cell.
Maybe he could write up a story about this whole incident and market it in one of his comics. He had a feeling it'd work out as a good tale, and get the food on the table.

"Don't worry hunny. We just need to let a judge sort this out." Lucy lied through the teeth of the face she stole. She brought out a pair of handcuffs and sought to restrain Alice in case her facade fell through. "I won't make them tight; we just got to follow procedure here." Lucy made the most of her new vocal cords in hoping to soothe the girls worries. If everything went smoothly Lucy would escort Alice out to a squad car.
Lucy lifted a pair of keys off of the officer she incapacitated in the bathroom, but knew nothing of the cars before her. "I need a clicker now." She looked around the eight squad cars around the lot. A voice sounded from behind her. She opened the back door to the squad car that the keys motioned to. "Sometimes I forget which one it is. We should paint them different colors." She tried to imitate a kind hearted officer. She would then help Alice into the back of the car; hopefully her ploy of reassurance tricked her into believing justice was on her side.
"Stop that thing!" An officer shouted as he erupted though the door. "That's not Jeff; its an imposted! Stop it before it takes that girl!" Three officers flooded out of the precinct, as Lucy tried to hurry up her heist of the girl.
"Time to go." Lucy would slam the door and hop into the driver's seat to speed away.

Re: Sometimes... Life just Sucks.
Alice nodded slowly as the cop secured her hands with handcuffs. She knew he was trying to comfort her and put her at ease... but something about the man.... something wasn't right. They were soon outside, the officer trying to find his car. Under any other circumstance, she would have realized that something was off, but in her nervousness, she let out a chuckle at the man's comment. Finally, it was found, and she was helped into the back. Just as she sat down, the doors of the station burst open. Wait... the cop was an im... "NO!" she tried to exit the car, but found the door slammed in her face, trapping her inside. "No no no no no no no..." Alice repeated as they sped off, her mind trying to work out an escape plan. "What do you want with me!?"

Re: Sometimes... Life just Sucks.
The aging police officer adjusted the rear view mirror to get a good look at Alice. The visage of the officer faded into the image of Alice. Lucy turned the wheel abruptly from side to side. Spinning out of the parking lot Lucy fired off three rounds rounds from the pistol she acquired from the officer into the roof of the car. "We're going to have fun!" Lucy shouted in Alice's own voice. "Haven't you ever wanted to play with yourself at a circus?"
The out of control squad car hurried down the roads with a siren blasting. The edge she held over the police, besides the girl in the back, was that she did not care about the any one else on the road. Road signals and pedestrians could not stop the head strong charge of a villain with a purpose. "You're going to be the first person I murder that I really enjoy!" Lucy remembered some of her earlier killings; she dazed off for a few minutes until a car horn erupted into her senses.
A collision shook the frame of the car and spun the squad car into an open lot. "Get off your cell phone, asshole!" Lucy screamed as she fired bullets recklessly out her window. "We're almost there." In fact, she spoke true. Rims kicked up dust and gravel of the open lot, as the car shot towards the derelict carnival.
Lucy spun the squad car through the wall of the House of Mirrors. The reinforced side of the car allowed it to crash through the side of the attraction that long since fell into disrepair. It once served as a maze full of twists and turns. Those times shattered under the brute force of the car. Lucy pressed her shoulder against the door, springing it open like the spring of a mouse trap. Hundreds of mirrored panels encircled the squad car, reflecting the blinding colors of the flashing squad car lights. The door to the back seat opened and the frail form of the teenage girl stood before herself. "Honey you got ninety-nine problems, and a bitch is all of them." Lucy grabbed at Alice's legs to drag her out of the car and subject her to the most fantabulous killing of her life.

(I personally don't care... I warn you though, my charrie's and your charrie's powers are gonna cancel each other out.)
Alice watched in horror as the police officer became... her. "Fuck." she swore, tugging at her handcuffs even though she knew that it was futile. "Wait..." she took a deep breath, summoning a small blade of shadow. "This'd better work." she concentrated on making the blade as dense as possible, "Well... here we go." with that, she began to cut at the thinnest part of the chain as quietly as possible. Alice nearly cheered when she managed to cut the chain. Glancing at her captor... well... she was still preoccupied. Alice then zoned Lucy out as she tried her best to come up with an escape plan, but they arrived all too soon. She attempted to get away as she was dragged out of the car. This.... this was not good... she held her hands together as if they were still chained, making sure that her one tiny advantage was kept hidden... either way though... this was not good.

Re: Sometimes... Life just Sucks.
Sachin and the reporter were let out, seeing as there was no reason to be kept in jail. Sachin thanked the police officer, and then nodded to Wendy. The police were already following the shapeshifter and the Asian girl, but it was unknown if they would get them.
Sachin had a vague, horrible idea that he would have to do something. That's what happened in these things- the bold, dashing, handsome and charming hero saved the day. Sachin didn't fit these qualifications properly. For example, bold, dashing, handsome and charming heroes didn't quiver in their boots. Or their sneakers. He sighed though, and walked outside. "I have got the horrible feeling we have to do something about this." he told the reporter, and then he got on a leftover motorcycle. Some sucker had left the keys in the ignition. No police officer was paying attention, all of them focusing on finding the shapeshifter. Nobody was caring about the small Indian guy in the parking lot. "You coming?" he asked Wendy, getting on the motorcycle.

Re: Sometimes... Life just Sucks.
"I've gotta get back to the newsroom. The public needs to know about this girl, and the police won't say anything until they think people are safe. People can only be safe when they know the truth." Wendy turned her back and walked off to try and hail a cab in a city with a failing public transportation system. "Good luck."
"Good luck, kid." Lucy sneered with a foot held over the girl's face. She retrieved a camera phone from her bag and pointed it towards Alice. The phone contained a catalog of murders Lucy perpetrated throughout the country that she nonchalantly placed on-line. Domain registrars removed the pictures within days, but that never stopped Lucy from sharing her memoirs. Just to throw some levity and possible masochism into the mix, she even included a picture of herself with a bomb strapped to her chest.
"Now smile for the camera, so I can remind you what you looked like when you had teeth." Lucy hoped to land the heel of her shoe against Alice's bottom lip, hopefully dislodging her mandible from her cranium, and giving a terrible shot of pain to the poor girl. "I guess I could always let you view my face once I'm done beating yours into a pulp."

Re: Sometimes... Life just Sucks.
As Lucy started talking, Alice quickly attempted to roll out of the way and partially succeeded. The foot missed her teeh but caught the ends of her hair, sharp jolt of pain when she got up. Wincing, she stumbled slightly before starting to run. She went as fast as she could but that wasn't very fast considering the mirrors. She kept a hand in front of her, hoping to prevent herself from crashing into one. BANG! "OW!" Alice stumbled back, stunned for a moment. Shaking her head, she continued deeper and deeper into the maze.
Finally, the shadows started to grow longer, darker, denser... Alice sighed before closing her eyes, letting her powers take over. She slowed to a walk, feeling the world around her... Lucy wasn't in her little bubble yet. She started down the maze quietly, hiding herself within the shadows, avoiding touching anything besides the ground. She knew she needed to get out somehow...

Re: Sometimes... Life just Sucks.
Sachin drove away on the stolen motorcycle before the police could notice he was driving away on a stolen motorcycle. He had the sneaking suspicion that they would not like it. The police car with the girl and the shapeshifter was headed toward a carnival. And that's where he went.
He parked the motorcycle somewhere close, and hoped the sound of the bike hadn't been heard. The police car had smashed itself into the House of Mirrors. With some feeling of 'Oh bloody fucking mother of God shit', Sachin recalled that the shapeshifter used mirrors in some way, considering she had once entered one...before he shot it.
"Oh bloody fucking mother of God shit." the Indian boy muttered under his breath, reloaded his pistol which he had taken back from police custody, and started walking toward the House.

Re: Sometimes... Life just Sucks.
"And now you die." Lucy looked at the mirrors that lined the corridor. "Where do you think you're running?" Laughter crackled out from behind Alice. Lucy gazed off into the mirrors; the reflection of the Asian girl staring back at her. Knowing that the maze presented her with no shortage of places to ambush Alice from Lucy could not help but smile at the idea of attack. In a few seconds Lucy entered the world behind the looking glass.
Lucy walked through the mirrors at the far end of the maze, and made her way towards Alice. Borrowing from "Duck Soup," Lucy sought to do her greatest Groucho Marx impersonation with Alice in the mirror. Sadly Lucy could not find her. She knew that Alice entered the maze. In the back ground she heard something; a new visitor to the house of mirrors. Years of torturing and hunting people gave her good insight into predicting the emotions and actions of others. To her dismay she failed to locate the girl; this brought much trouble to Lucy.
Lucy waited for Alice to come close enough towards the glass so that she could spring her attack without giving the girl a chance to defend herself. Lucy stalked the mirror world and knew that Alice remained within the maze, but she needed a way of smoking out the little rat. Oh wait. That will work, she thought.

Re: Sometimes... Life just Sucks.
Alice let out a mental sigh of relief as the minutes ticked by. It seemed that she hadn't been found yet. Alice looked around cautiously, trying to gauge whether it was safe to move or not. A few more minutes later, she decided to risk it, taking nearly silent steps, always making sure to stay in the shadows where she was safe and invisible. She felt herself wanting to panic, a feeling she quickly pushed away.
Suddenly, a noise was heard towards the front of this maze... maybe help was coming! But still, she was smart enough to remain as quiet as ever as she continued to attempt to get out of this maze... after all, there was always an exit. She always kept a wary eye on the mirrors, for reflections that didn't belong, movement... something.

Re: Sometimes... Life just Sucks.
Making her way to the far side of the tent Lucy spotted several police entering the wreckage of the old amusement park. Time to execute part one of her little plan. Fire should light the place up nicely, she thought. Faulty electronics always made for terrible construction choices. The investigators could always chalk a fire up to that, but Lucy did not live in the make believe world of justice, so she would need a real way to change this place place into a hellscape.. She reached into her back of goodies and pulled out a lighter and a small bottle of ether she used to knock people out. Setting a building on fire did not seem like a bad use of it either. The bottle label read 'flammable.' Lucy chuckled at the incorrect wording. "This world deserves to be burned down."
Lucy dowsed a rag and lit it. She walked away from the maze that now reflected a fire throughout the entire maze. Lucy appeared in her still guise of Alice; walking back from the mirrored maze that Alice found refuge in. "Officers!" She cried out, frantically. "You gotta save me from her!"
