New York Has Issues Empty New York Has Issues

Post by Archer Roland April 13th 2011, 11:12 pm

Jack was with his friends, like any other day. Class was out for the day, it was nice and cloudy, and he didn't have any homework to do, it was going to be a good day after all. His friends were talking about about some sports team, Jack wasn't really listening but rather just relaxing, he didn't get to do that very often anymore. Ever since he had started the whole superhero thing everything else had been getting a lot more complicated. Was that normal?

Listening to everything around him, Jack noticed the faint sound of a bird, he wasn't sure what kind it was, focusing in on that he decided to try and possibly try and forget the world around him, if only for a moment.

"Do you guys hear that," Jack's friend Calvin asked.

"Yeah, it sounds like sirens," Tim, another of Jack's friends, answered.

"Let's go check it out," Calvin said getting up from his seat.

Jack stood with his two friends, it seemed he'd never get a chance to relax. The three ran to the source of the sirens and found themselves in front of a mall, which was currently being surrounded by police officer's cars, this couldn't be good. Before the three could even get close enough to get a good look a police officer stopped them dead in their tracks, "No way kids, you gotta stay farther back. There's a dangerous person inside and he might have a gun or something."

"Hey guys," Jack said under his breath, "I have to go." He looked around, not being completely sure how to do this without seeming too obvious or like a coward, "it's getting late."

"Whatever man, I want to see this whole thing play out," Calvin said with out turning around.

"I'll see you at school tomorrow," Tim said waving good-bye.

Jack walked away, but once he was sure that he wasn't being watched ducked into a close by alley and quickly made to change his outfit. This was not going to be a relaxing day at all.

New York Has Issues Empty Re: New York Has Issues

Post by Skylar James April 14th 2011, 8:21 am

((OOC: Love the power.Very Happy reminds me of my main character on another account. Can do pretty much the same thing.))

It was a nice peaceful day. Take away the clouds and you had a nice day. Spencer was walking along. On a little shopping trip. SInce Sean demanded it. He needed more clothes. Since he was so damn stubborn. That and he had buisness of his own. Tough Guy buisness he called it. So Spence didn't bother with it. Just going to the mall to buy his favorite jeans and shirts. At where else but hot topic. Though he just like the belts there. He always did like a good belt.

He wore the ususual clothing. A loose fitting blue shirt. Comfortable fitting blue jeans and faded nikes. Toussled brown hair unaffected by the wind. Sparkling green eyes examining the area. When he reached the mall he noticed something. Police blocking it off. "Just wonderful." Spencer spat sarcastically. How the hell was ge supposed to get the damn clothes now. No way was he going to return to Sean without them. Didn't want him to freeze the damn room over like last time. Sometoimes he wished Sean never got more powerful. Now he could pull water from the damn air. It was rediculous, but he managed. He walked upto the officers. "You can't go in theres a guy with a gun. " Spencer ignored him. Brushing the officer aside like he was nothing. "A gun? As if that will do anything." He just walked in. Looking around through the mall. First to find the gun toting man. Seeing a strange man a gun pointed at a woman. He turned to look at Spencer. Pointing it at him. Spitting a threat of shooting him or something. Which he laughed at. Walking forward. Making it only a few feet before a bang filled the mall. The man had pulled the trigger. Bullet bouncing off of his skin. "Really now. Is that all you have. Man i mean im unimpressed. Didn't even tickle." Now he knew this would be nothing. Till the man put the gun to the womans head.

New York Has Issues Empty Re: New York Has Issues

Somebody else was in the mall, Frost just couldn't tell if he was a good guy or not. Jack was hiding on the second floor and was preparing to make his move when he heard a gunshot moving as quietly as possibly he looked at the new guy and the guy with a gun and listened in as best he could. The new guy could deflect bullets apparently, 'that must be nice,' Frost thought to himself. Then the man turned the gun on a woman he was holding hostage, not good.

Moving back and getting ready for his next move. Once he was ready Frost ran forward as hard as he could and launched himself from the railing and toward the man with the gun. While still in mid air Frost kiscked the man's gun from his hand, the woman was safe. Unfortunately to kick frost had to sacrifice his landing and hit the ground pretty hard but that wasn't anything out of the usual, he was quickly back on his feet and in a fighting stance.

"Who are you," the now gunless robber almost yelled, he was scared. Between frost and bullet proof over there that was understandable.

"Name's Frost," he'd been hoping somebody would ask him what his name was, "I'm the new hero in town."

It seemed Spencer would have to do this the hard way. Since he pulled the gun on a civilan. That would only make it harder on him. Lightning came to life in his clenched fist. Ready to leap from his fingers. Effectivly disarming the gun man. Then a guy jumped from the second story. Kicking the gun from the guys hand. Making things all to easy. The guy seemed scared. Spencer chuckled a little. Get rid of his gun and he was as helpless as anyone. Well anyone without any special powers that is. The guy then broke into a run. Trying to force his way past Spence. Probably thinking tough skin was his only trick. Well unfortunatly that was not all he could do. As hte man ran past him. His arm shot out. Taking ahold of the mans wrist. With a death grip. Causing the man to stumble. As Spencer soursed electricity through his body. Only enough to knock him unconciouss. The man slumping to the ground. "Well that was easy." Spencer sighed. Placing his hands on his hips. "Now i need to get back to what i was doing. Don't need Sean pissed at me." Then he walked towards Frost. Well really he was going to walk past him, but to some people. It would seem like he was walking towards him. Though SPencer had no time to waste with a random hero. That would be a waste of time for him.

"Thanks for the distraction," Frost said, " I wasn't sure if the jumping thing would work out quite that well." He then stepped forward with his hand extended shake the other man's hand. "This was my first time saving hostages," it was obvious from his tone of voice that Frost was in good spirits because things had gone smoother than he had thought they would, "I'm kinda glad another hero showed up to help. Cool powers by the way," he finished standing in front of the man, hand still extended.

He was stopped when the guy shook his hand. Apparently he wanted a chat or something. "your first time? Well you did pretty good i guess." He was curious. What power did he have. Did he have any kind of power at all? Still he had to take this slow. Not too slow, but slow enough. "You like my power eh? Not too fond of it myself, but it helps. Do you have a power yourself? Anything at all?" He thought why waste time being disctrete. Metahumans were regarded as heroes. Well the ones who didn't go around killing people. "Anyway its nice to meet you. My names Spencer. Spencer Suede." He wasn't really expecting an answer. From what he gathered the guy didn't want his real name known. So he wore a costume. Spencer could understand that. So he would judt settle for a hero name. Maybe it would give him a clue on what his power was. Hopefully anyway.

"I like to go by Frost," he said to the slightly older guy. "I can control water," Frost the moved his hand towards the fountain in the middle of the mall. The fountain's water began to raise and spiral in a vortex that was spinning at an incredible speed. "I can freeze it too," the water froze in place still looking as though it was still a deadly whirlpool. "And unfreeze it," the water the crashed to the ground no longer frozen but ratherin it's original state of being, before Frost had messed with it anyway.

Spencer looked at the display bemused at best. He had seen this power before. Used before. Afterall he was dating someone who could use that power. To the same degree he wasn't sure. Still it seemed he had a good control of his power. So that seemed a plus. "I know someone who can do that too. Dating them actually, but that doesnt matter." He blinked for a second. "Anyway what else can you do? Can you turn it into steam. Bring it to a boil? Your power seems interesting Frost. While all i can do is this pretty much." He held his hand out in front of his. Clenhing his palm shut as sparks leapt from it. Opening his hand as sparks leapt from finger to finger. All around his palm Dancing. Yet it didn't escape from his hand. Then he grasped his hand closed. Stopping the flow of electricity. As the sparks died down and stopped. "I can do that but on a much higher scale." he was half bragging. Still curious what the kid could do. If he had full control over water like Sean or not.

"I can kind of control prespiration, in that I can pull it together and use that water," Frost the lifted his hand to about parallel with his forearm and brought his fingers closer together, almost like he was about to clench his hand into a fist, water drew from the air and into a small sphere levitating in his hand. "The lightning thing is pretty awesome," I think I'd be kinda screwed if you and I got into it," he said with a laugh. "It's been cool meeting you but I need to go before the police bust in and I have school tomorrow," Frost turned ready to leave, "maybe we can get together sometime and beat up some thugs."

"Hmm thats interesting. Nice power." Spencer was impressed. Not much but still he was. Maybe if he had a little work he could do more with the water. Then the boy just decided to run off. Which was also Spencers que to do so as well. Witht hat he returned to his duties. Not having Sean throw a bitch fit at him. So with that he made his way to buying the clothes he needed. A bit amused by the day's adventure.

New York Has Issues Empty Re: New York Has Issues

Post by Archer Roland April 14th 2011, 3:33 pm

It was already starting to get dark by the time Jack got out of his costume and back into his pedestrian clothes once more. Time sure had a way of speeding up when things got out of hand like that, or at least that's what it felt like to Jack every time he helped people. He looked up and down the street to make sure that there wasn't anyone that might recognize him, not that that was really likely this was New York after all. Jack felt like he had been on edge almost all the time since he started doing the whole hero thing and he again wondered if it was worth it. Then he thought back to the person he had saved, there was no telling what could have happened to her if he hadn't been there, it was deffinately worth it.

Walking into the living room of the spacious living room of his and his father's apartment he instantly saw the note. Jack made his way over to it and picked it up, it was like all the other ones, his father was going to be late, like usual. He didn't have any homework so he just plopped down in front of the television and flipped through the channels until something caught his eye, just some stupid cartoon.

((OOC: this is topic end))

After the long day of shopping Spencer eturned to his hotel. Walking throught he door with a sigh. Sean lyed on the bed over to the other end of the room. He seemed pleased that Spence returned. Arms filled with bags of clothes. "Got em just like you asked.." He smiled throwing the bags on the bed closest to him. It belonged to Erius who was out somewhere. Sean greeted him rolling over. Now he would return to his normal life. Maybe even mention his encounter with Frost. Afterall its not everyday you meet another water manipulator.
