It's all about the Money! (Invite Only)

Ghurk and Slick went at each other, but Slick had to be extra cautious. He would extend his quarterstaff to prod the beast in the chest like a spear if he got too close. It didn't seem to phase it, Ghurk leaned into the pole pushing Slick backwards from his position, digging his heels into the dirt. Ghurk raised another claw and clasped it around Slick in a death grip. He threatened to close his claw and snap the man in half. Secreting as much oil as he could, he slipped from the grasp and fell on his back on the floor. Ghurk raised both claws into the air and tried to pin him to the ground. Slick rolled around dodging the blows, kicking the claws away with his feet.

Rush tried to find an opening to help his brother in capturing the beast. He waited until Slick was frustrating Ghruk to the point of fully distracting all of his attention. Rush pumped adrenaline through his veins to increase his speed and reflexes. His pupils dilated then enlarged from the sudden rush. He was a true addict. He leapt up and onto Ghurk's back in an attempt to put the neural inhibitor around his cranium. All three weren't paying any attention to Project Gluttony.

She raised an eyebrow in frustration. Were they ignoring her? Something like thats he could not forgive. Never had Maria been fond of being ignored. Never. Even when in the project she made sure to get attention. In fact thats how they punished her. Locked her away. In a heavily reinforced cell. Where noone would talk to her. Only opening the door to bring food to her. Thats what solitary confinement was for her. So she didn't want to fail. Angered she rushed the crab. Ignoring the men attacking it. Blood pumping through her body. Just because she looked eight meant nothing. WHen she got close enough. She swung her leg at full force. Aimed at the back of its leg. The joint right behind the knee. Where she had an idea what it would do. At the least cause it to flinch. Giving her a chance to hit it again. Going on until it was unconciouss. Then she could deal with the men. Them she could eat. Sonce the project didn't care for them. So maybe she would have a meal afterall. That made her slightly happier. Just slightly.

While distracted, the purpose was supposed to be for Rush to get the neural inhibitor around Ghruk's skull. However a young girl intervened, swiping at his leg. In appearances, it was like watching a tick kick a Saint Bernard. But much to their surprise, the massive 9 foot creature toppled backwards landing on its back, flailing its arms in the air. Rush who was mounted on the back of the crablike creature started to sway from the motion of the toppling goliath. He backflipped off the creature and landed on his feet before Ghruk toppled to the ground.

Infuriated, Slick put his mouth up to his earpiece, communicating the the helicopter pilots. "Take her out!"[b] he yelled. The three attack helicopters that were circling the battle revealed their gatling guns and opened rapid fire at the young girl. They were so close to capturing Ghruk and she foiled their plan. Now she needed to pay.

She frowned. They thought they could kill her with their guns? How pathetic they truely were. In a moment of reaction. Not even thinking she reached for the crab. As it flailed wildly. Probably una ble to understand what was happening. Hoping to grab it by the leg. Heafting it with her full strength, and tossing it at one of the helicoptors. Hoping to crash it. In a nice blaze of glory. While performing the action. A bullet grazed her. Not peircing the skin of course, but it stung. Ripping her sopping wte pants. No way was sjhe letting them dissmiis her as nothing. Once she was done with her throwing of the crab. Her next plan was to rush the one with the staff. A sweep kick prepared to knock him down. If that worked she would follow with a powerful punch to the stomach. She knew they wouldn't fire at her near their own comrade. Well she hoped they didn't. That would put a damper on her whole plan. She didn't need any more complications.

Ghruk was lifted into the air and hurled at one of the helicopters. Rather than appear to be defenseless, the giant crab man extended both his claws and tore a hole through the vehicle. The helicopter burst into flames and spun out of control, crashing into the ground in a ball of flames. Ghurk landed on his feet, and began running again.

The plan appeared to fall apart. This girl needed to die. All of their attention was now focused on her, as she neared Slick the helicopters did indeed cease their barrage of fire. But Slick was no normal man, his reflexes and fighting skills far outmatched the young girl despite her extended strength, he was going to use it against her.

As she leaped forward at him with an extended leg, he knelt low to the grouned and held the quarterstaff out like a spear hoping to impale her on her own strength. He positioned the quarterstaff so that if any force was extended on the weapon, instead of pushing Slick back, it would snag into the earth and come to a complete stop. The question was could she withstand a pinpoint blow to the ribs with her on strength?

"Slick, he's getting away!" Rush exclaimed

"Follow him! I'll take care of the girl." he responded.

The transport helicopter swooped down to pick Rush up. He climbed aboard, and one of the attack helicopters pursued Ghurk along with the Transport helicopter. Which only made Slick and one attack helicopter alone to face Project Gluttony. Though the helicopter was more of an observer for now.

Her kick connected with the quarterstaff. Instead of it breaking like she hoped. It didn't budge. As the other end caught her in the stomach. Doubling over in pain. Never had she been hit so hard. It hurt like hell. She didn't like it one bit. In the voice of a young girl she yelled."Dammit!!! That hurt you cheeky bastard!!! Now i eat you!!!" She was pissed beyond all comprehension. Slowly she stood up. Slamming a fist into the ground. As it rippled for a second. As the ground cracked and chunks pulled up. Satisfied she hefted a huge chunk of earth. With that she threw the huge chunk of earth at Slick. Hoping it to crush him. Either that or gve her an opeining to eat that nice staff of his. Then him of course.

Slick raised himself up from his kneeling position and extended his quarterstaff at his opponent which was wounded. She was going to 'eat' him? Apparently, she was not wounded enough. She slammed her fist against the ground, causing debris to rupture from the ground. His feet shook on the ground and he readied his quarterstaff for another attack.

She hurled a large chunk of the ground that she had just separated from the earth at him, which was surprising to say the least. But he was no amateur. The object was large and easy to target. He jumped into the air and extended his pole firmly into the chunk of debris. The momentum of the object flung him backwards, but the full strength of the blow was absorbed into his quarterstaff. As the object descended to the ground he leaped over it and landed on his feet. He wasn't sure if he should go offensive, or defensive. However, with the blow knocking him back several feet it opened up an opportunity for the helicopter. it blasted an array of bullets, with shells rapidly falling to the ground.


Rush and the other helicopter caught up to their target. Ghruk was clipping any trees that got in his way by the base. They toppled over with ease when he smashed his shoulders into the cleaved wooden obstructions. They were trying their best not to hurt Gruhk, they wanted him as an ally. They all never fired a shot, but it was up to Rush alone to put the restraint around his skull. The transport lowered near Ghruk and they threw canisters of chloroform at his face, missing the moving target. Before the transport reascended, Rush leaped off and landed on Ghruk's back, hanging onto the crustacean's back. It roared in protest, but Rush was insistent on completing the task.

This was it. Her chance.She saw an oppurtunity to strike. Well when she did the helicoptor took fire on her again. Raining bullet down on her. Pissed she looked around. Then acted. Picking up the next largest hunk of debris. As a bullet impacted her shoulder. It hurt for sure, but didn't peirce. She growled as she lifted the hunk of rock. Swinging it at the chopper at full force. Then charging Slick. This time she had no plans to kick or punch. She lunged forward. Mouth wide open. Teeth ready to rip into flesh. To devour him and his damn little staff. She was sick of him. Wanted him dead. Him and his little friend. "Die you bastards." She thought as she hurtled toward Slick.

The helicopter dove and spun out of the way, coming close to losing control and crashing to the ground. As she went for Slick, the helicopter climbed to reach a higher altitude to get away from the girl. She seemed to have a mouth on her, but she also didn't appear to be too bright. It was only moments ago where he impaled the girl on her own lunging attack, and she attempted a similar attack with shorter range.

Lunging forward teeth first, Slick once again twirled his quarterstaff and knelt low to the ground. He positioned himself so that the back end of the quarterstaff was against the ground and the front end was extended towards Gluttony in an attempt to jab her in the exact same spot as he did before.

His reflexes were faster, his skill was more accurate. Even if she found a way to counterattack he would probably be able to react again. She was probably bruised from the initial blow. It put all of her own strength against herself. Hopefully doing it twice would knock her out of commission.


Ghurk clawed at his back trying to snap Rush like a twig, but he didn't know exactly where he was. Rush dodged, twisted, and evaded the claws with relative ease while the creature was in a sense blinded. It began to slam its back against the trees and boulders trying to crush Rush. But the agile man was too quick for the beast. He finally got a good position on Ghurk and placed the neural inhibitor around his cranium. Activating a button on his wrist, Ghurk screamed. Rush leaped off the beast and watched. Ghurk put his claws over his head trying to resist but it didn't last long. His mind was no longer his own, he could be easily guided by anyone who decided to. Rush signaled the transport helicopter, and it lowered and landed. Rush guided Ghurk onto the transport chopper as it began to take off.

Rush put his mouth to his earpiece and requested the attack helicopter lowered its altitude, and an extension rope. When it responded, Rush grabbed the extension rope and harnessed himself to it.

"Let's pick up Slick!" he ordered the mercenaries. The helicopter tilted its nose towards the ground and sped towards his location. Rush was being dragged, suspended from the helicopter by the extension rope harness.

The man had reacted again. With the same tactic as before. She cursed internally. Knowing that this blow would knock her out if it connected. The ehr body moved before her mind registered. Feet shotting towards the ground. Digging in deep. As she tried to stop her momentum. Every muscle in her body straining. Returning to a semblance of an upright position. Right hand shooting out infront of her. Hitting the pole instead of her chest. It hurt way worse than her chest did. Yet she worked though it. Keeping in mind that sje would be in solitary confine ment. Then she grabbed the staff. Mouth open as she wrenched the staff to fer mouth. To take a huge chunk of it with her teeth. Knowing that if the staff was gone. The man couldnt hurt her. Pain shot through her hand which she feared was broken. Then realized it was only bruised. Now she had to deal with the current problem.

She took a bite-sized chunk out of the quarterstaff, which suddenly informed him of what she meant by attempting to 'eat' him. He knew now more than ever that this disturbing little girl was not only a metahuman, but a huge threat. Slick pulled his staff away out of the reach of the girl. Looking at the tip of the quarterstaff, he noticed it was sharp now that she put her teeth into it. Above all else he had to keep himself away from her jaws, he wasn't sure what it was capable of.

Hanging from a suspension cable hanging from the helicopter, Rush pulled out his dual pistols. Slick could see him in the distance. He knew what it meant. It meant that Ghurk was theirs, and Rush was coming back for Slick. The mission was over. He gazed back to Project Gluttony.

"You've lost. We already got him. There's nothing you can do to get him. There's no need to fight now."

She sighed. He had a point it seemed she couldn't beat them both. It would be just too hard. Aggitated she gritted her teeth. Feeling the peices of staff in her mouth. Swallowing them with ease. Eevn though it seemed she had to fight on she gave up shrugging. "Guess theres no point in trying at this point. I'll let you get away with the crab. Though those dumbasses at Project Perfection may blow a gasget. Doesn't matter." She didn't really care if they knew where she was from. Maybe it would strike some fear in them if they knew. Though maybe they would just ignore that and move on. They lost herinterest. "Sorry about your staff. Things tend to get broken when i fight." For reasons even she didn't understand she was apologizing. She turned around walking off. "Have fun with your crab. Maybe well meet again. Well after confinement of course." Then she was done blabbling. Telling to many things. Then she walked off. Deciding not to go back to the project. Istead she would search for Spencer. Yeah thats ounded good to her. better than being locked in a cell for a month.

Slick was actually relieved. He hadn't had much success in negotiating lately. It all started in Los Angeles where three so-called 'heroes' wanted to fight him to protect the civilians he had captured. But the more they forced him to fight, the more citizens he killed. They didn't seem to get the point in their thick skulls that they were killing these people, not him. But this girl was different. She seemed to get the point of a logical battle.

She apologized for his quarterstaff, he was just glad he still had all his fingers. "It'll be alright. You are an interesting piece of work. It's too bad we had to meet this way. Perhaps our next meeting won't have to be so....hostile?" He smiled. Like Hurricane, he had a mutual respect for any metahuman. He respected power, and despised the fear that drove weakling humans into their anti-metahuman actions.

He watched the girl walk away as Rush swooped down with the helicopter. He nodded to Rush, he would catch his own ride. The second helicopter lowered enough for him to climb aboard. The team got out of the vicinity with their prize.
