Costume Description/Image:
Alan Schezar M9u5c1

Personality: Alan is a confused and questionable character. Some would call him quiet, but he knows when to hide certain emotions and when to express. Generally, he is a very introverted thinker who, despite his sympathy for most people, he tends to be an outcast in this violent world due to his peaceful nature,

Due to a very bizarre and misguided upbringing, Alan's instinctive emotions have been twisted and bent. His morals and values are highly controversial, himself having an ever-changing mindset on life and the universe. Outwardly, Alan comes off as a quiet, aloof (at times), man; inwardly, he is deeply disturbed and bordering on the edge of mental insanity.

While he does see some common ground with the majority of the human race, he tends to fall upon the grip of misanthropy. Alan is a devote antiquarian, having a love for history and objects of the past, and also a self-proclaimed nihilistic bohemian.

Alan does have a very unpredictable side of his being, where dancing, random jokes, and other general acts of craziness are to be expected. He also does have a series of twitches, usually small and quite unnoticeable.

Alan tends to become attached to those that he feels truly understand him, which is hard objective to accomplish in itself. While he rarely ever feels connected with the human race, he does understand them. Alan takes great interest in studying human behavior and thought and uses this often in situations when helpful. In addition to this, he also has a heavy interest in philosophy and knowledge in general.

He tends to stray away from violence and prefers to talk situations out but when push comes to shove he will fight but only enough to defend himself never to kill.

History: Deep within the Appalachian mountains, atop the snow-capped peaks, is a poor, small mining town by the name of Brumma. It's population is never past the double digits and will occasionally lower to single digits in times of disease and famine. Alan Schezar happened to be one of the few unlucky human beings to have been born there. Alan's father, Regis Schezar, was an avid traveler in his hayday, as well as being a idealistic writer. His mother, Kelly, was a former drug addict that Regis met in his travels. The two returned to Brumma, Regis' hometown, and had one child: Alan Schezar. Alan was raised a poor child, never having enough to eat or anything to entertain himself with. He had few friends, although the ones he did have were very close. As he reached his early teens, Alan became very interested in philosophies and developed a never-ending quest for the ultimate understanding of life, earth, and the universe. At this time, he became obsessively interested in the books which his father had brought back from his travels. Writers such as Poe, Wells, Gurdjieff, Lovecraft, and Huxley became his central idols, his influences in thought and ideals, the unique basis of his being.

As he grew into a young man, that being around the age of 15, Alan began work in the mines. Mining was very difficult work, and the constant dark and formaldehyde set deep indentions in Alan's developing mind. At the age of 16, Alan was trapped for four days in a natural cave collapse. The falling boulders gruesomely killed two of his fellow miners next to him instantly, and mortally wounding another. Alan was lucky enough to where he only received minor injuries physically, but mentally the incident crippled Alan. Throughout the four days, sitting in pitch dark next to two rotting corpses and having to bear the dreadful dying words of the fatally wounded miner as he slowly slipped into the dark grip of death, these aspects of the occurrence changed Alan as a person. Afterward, Alan was plagued with horrific nightmares and, on occasions, vivid hallucinations and delusions. He became a very misunderstood recluse, often wandering the mountainside alone with nothing but a journal to record his thoughts; the majority of these hikes were done in the dead of night. Through the four days of listening to the dying words of his fellow miner, Alan had also gained a profound interest in human thought, emotion, and mind; psychology.

Alan's mother, who had recently become very ill from pneumonia, died one September night from starvation and sickness. This event put Alan's father in a deep depression, himself becoming more of a recluse than his troubled son. He would spend days, sometimes weeks, at a time within the confines of his study; he lived through his pen as he expressed thoughts of his growing insanity through the output of writings -mainly scribbles- and detailed drawings of his late wife, along with his deceased brother whom had died in his arms years ago. Two months later, on November 4th, Alan's father hanged himself in his study, surrounded by gibberish notes, numerous sketches of his wife and brother, and a solitary photo of his son. Alan was 17 at this time, and this, coupled with his mother's death and the mining incident, rendered Alan's mental stability collapsed and destroyed. Within a week after his father's suicide, Alan decided to leave his disturbed homestead and see what else the world held in store. With nothing more than a journal, his father's guitar, and a collection of books Alan set off into the unknown, leaving behind him a troubled past and disfigured memories.

Upon venturing out of the decrepit mountains, Alan found himself along the eastern coast, New England territory. Many months were spent in lonesome traveling, sleeping in dingy hotels, and eating whatever he could salvage. Yet, these depressing times ended when Alan found refuge within a traveling group of 'entrepreneurs'. They called themselves the Jacques of the Third Eye (shortened as 'the Jacques' or sometimes the Third Eye), and claimed to be spreading self-discovery and understanding for 20 dollars a pop. Their leader, Richard Leroy, had formed the group upon his creation of a new drug, dubbed Moloko. It was a strong psychoactive chemical substance which caused intense hallucinations, unimaginable euphoria, and abstract thought.. Having the curious mind Alan does, it took little convincing to get him to begin dosing along with the rest of his new 'family'.

Alan was soon completely sucked into the psychedelic atmosphere of these bizarre travelers, and would later claim that his time with them was the defining beginning of his quest for self-discovery. He spent many nights with them, heavily sedated on high doses of Moloko, wandering alone in the countryside; hallucinating vividly, embracing the natural world, and observing the universe. The group itself, although highly bohemian and unpredictable, graciously followed the influential word of their all-seeing leader; Richard Leroy, who not only wanted to spread the good nature of his new drug, but also wanted to make a profit off of it as well. He wanted to put the drug on the market, particularly along the eastern coast-line. And so he did just that, his spiritual flock following along his footsteps, and ended up in s small town just outside of Philadelphia. It was here that Moloko was first sold publicly, quickly becoming popular due to its powerful long lasting effects. Alan, being in debt to the Jacques for their taking care of him, was enlisted as a messenger and, occasionally, debt collector. Although not realizing it at the time, Alan was falling deeper and deeper into the grips of a drug-induced conscious lapse, that meaning that he was slowly being sucked into all the activity and traffic and drugs that the Jacques had created. In the process of this, Alan was also introduced to morphine, that of which slowly tied the misunderstood traveler to the unbreakable bond of addiction.

Alan's life was that of a junkie and heavy drug user for many years, and his existence transformed into a euphoric drug-haze. This stream of seemingly un-ending success and prosperity ceased to operate on one fateful night, when a highly powerful drug faction who ran the local Lsd and Cocaine market decided that the Jacques were interfering with their business, and thus put a very bloody end to the once-peaceful group. In truth, a massive drug war had inflamed between the Jacques and this unnamed faction, but Alan only saw one bit of it. He was in one of the many safe houses in the woods The Jacques set up for when cops were looking for a member, out of his mind on Moloko and attempting to IV some high-quality Morphine that he had recently scored, when a gang of hired thugs busted in and proceeded to systematically murder each and every one of the inhabitants of the building. Alan, along with many other of his fellow junkies, ran for their lives as the screams of the unlucky echoed throughout the woods. Once far enough away, one of Alan's 'brothers' informed him that an all-out war had sparked that night and it was his duty to pick up a gun, and defend his 'family'. Alan, who had always put his personal survival above all else, had a different idea. He frantically grabbed all the drugs he could and ran for the hills. He abandoned his once-loved brothers and left them to a brutal slaughter, yet he did not care, for he had all that he needed to survive: his conscious mind and drugs.

A deep depression set in soon after he fled, the realization of his friend's deaths and his merciless abandonment of them had finally set in, but he went on. Death was abstract for him, yet not mournful. After this incident, Alan was once again directionless and without purpose. And so he walked, and walked, and walked; no destination in mind, no objective or mission, he simply walked, hoping that somehow, someway, he'll find whatever it is that he is meant to find.

Eventually he ran out of money and had no way to get around any longer sold his last supply of drugs to a small community of supposed witch doctors in New Orleans, unknown to him the doctor's lured in those they found sinful to there small commune in order to cleanse there souls and bring them to peace with nature. After several months of being heavily sedated by magic and strange natural drugs Alan awoke a brand new person he was at one with nature. He made a vow with the doctors to use his powers to help out the world and make the world a better place and that if he ever touched a drug again in his life his powers would be stripped from him and a curse of untold power would be laid on his soul. Alan now wanders America with his guitar helping out everyone he can.

Stone storm may be too strong with the other abilities listed. Most of your abilities are defensive, but your speed is high. Do your rock abilities slow down your speed when used?

Your Endurance is 3. What does your rock armor do to that? Does it go up, or does it just take damage for him, and how much damage can the shield take?

I think your endurance should be 4 and your speed should be a 3.

The rock armor doesn't really do anything for his endurance it just absorbs the damage sent towards him.
And I was thinking my guy would be a little slower when using his skills since he would have to concentrate but not drop it a ton.

We're working on how EP works at the moment, so it will temporarily halt your approval since you have two EP powers, but don't worry we will have it sorted out very soon! This application looks great, I love a good personality and history, we just have to sort out the way multiple powers work before I can approve you.

In order to control both nature and earth, you'll have to split your EP. 3 EP for Nature, 3 EP for Earth.

Like Elaine said, II think 4 END would work better for you than 3 SPD, but it is completely your choice.

This application is pretty much ready for approval, just want you to know the new rules of EP in case you wanted to make any changes to your character. Also what color would you like your powergrid to be?
