Long Live the King - Page 2 Empty Re: Long Live the King

Post by The Black Arrow February 28th 2011, 2:44 pm

(I left it out because I didn't think I had to quote all of your actions word for word, and because I started doing something while you were helping them out but if it matter's I won't be trying to arrest you, and I will point out that you did the right thing going back there and helping them out. But it even if you helped, Jason still caused the truck the flip and crash, which isl against the law. So I guess that gives me a good reason for only fighting him anyway.)

Black Arrow stood with his arms crossed across his chest in the middle of the street, waiting as the car started to approach him. She stopped the car not far the caltops that were a couple yards away from his feet. She either saw the caltrops on the road or didn't have it in her to run him over. Either way he got her attention. The car stopped and Chelle stepped out, followed by her passenger, Jason. Arrow kept his arms crossed hiding the smoke and flash bomb, waiting for one of them to make their move.

Chelle leaned back onto her car, and ordered Jason take the lead and try and deal with Black Arrow by himself. She would soon learn from her mistakes. Steven was a cocky, but he also didn't underestimate his opponent. Jason keeled down admiring Steven's razor sharp caltop, and gave Steven the option of running, or making the first move. Foolish choice. Black Arrow could do some quick damage if given the chance, especially when he was already prepared. Steven looked down at Jason, "Sorry to interrupt your 'Special Business', but neither of us are going to be walking away just yet." He said in a deep voice staring straight into Jason's eyes. Looking away from him and over at Chelle, Black Arrow nodded his head at her and spoke, "Good job, I'm happy that you went back to help. 'Ya saved me the trouble." Turning his attention back to Jason, he continued his sentence, "But your friend isn't going anywhere." Directly after finishing his sentence he moved his thumb inside the pin on the flash bomb. Moving his thumb up, pulling then pin out of the flash bang then dropping it out of his right hand. The flash bang started to fall to the floor, falling right in front of his left leg just as he planned. While it was falling, Steven slid his left foot back and watched as the flash bang hit the floor then bounced up a few inches into the air. The second it made it bounced up off the ground, Steven slid his foot forward kicking the flash bang at Jason's face. With a three second trigger, by the time the it got to Jason it should be ready to blow. Even though Steven didn't know Jason's full potential, this would be a good way to test his speed, and endurance. Chelle was far enough away from the smoke bomb that the most it would do to her would be make squint her eyes for a moment, and maybe make her ears ring, but it was the cost for effectively stunning Jason. Right after kicking the flash bang, he moved his left hand out in front of him and clenched his fist, popping the smoke bomb in the palm of his hand. Opening his hand, letting the smoke cover the area between him and Jason, Black Arrow then jumped back, away from his smoke cover and out of the range of his flash bang (That seemed like three seconds, right? If 'ya got a problem just let me know and I'll change it.). Reaching into his quiver, Steven prepared for his next attacked. Switching into thermal vision so he could see through his smoke, then pulling out a frozen arrow all Arrow had to do now was wait and watch Jason's reaction. No matter where he went or what he did, Steven could afflictively see and prepare for it.

Long Live the King - Page 2 Empty Re: Long Live the King

Post by Mechafox February 28th 2011, 3:53 pm

Jason saw the movement and was ready, the grenade was flying through the air, and smoke seeped out the bowman's hands. His body moved like a well oiled machine honed by he training.

One foot leapt out, dragging his body behind him to a gap in the caltrops, the motion dropping his arm inside his jacket, where a familiar body of metal wrapped in well used leather lay. He leapt for the second spot, meeting the grenade partway, using the momentum to aid his swing. He landed on a foot, twisting to bring garoken's scabbard around, impacting the grenade with all the force of a major league home run, denting the cylinder and sending it flying back the way it came.

Ducking down to minimize the impact of the shockwave, he started blindly hurling nearby caltrops through th smoke. Hardly balanced and with no obvious target, he figured the barrage would keep his opponent off balance, although with all the smoke a lucky hit wasn't out of the question.

Long Live the King - Page 2 Empty Re: Long Live the King

Through the smoke, Steven watch Jason's moves. Clearly he was well trained, and knew how to handle himself. Arrow would have to keep on his toes this battle or Jason might end up getting a few to many good hits in. Watching him knock the flash bang back, Black Arrow didn't hesitate. He held his ground examining ever single one of Jason's move so he could use it to his advantage later on in the fight. The second the flash bang was knocked back, Steven didn't even move. He had been counting in his head and the flash bang was set to explode before it would get back to him. It exploded in the middle of the smoke, between the two. It had little effect on both Steven and Jason, the only thing it did was make Steven's ears ring slightly, but it wasn't a big deal. He was more interested in evading Jason's next move.

Jason ducked so the shockwave would have less effect, then he started to throw Black Arrow's own caltrops back at him. Luckily for Steven, he knew just how deadly his own caltrops were, if they were to pierce into something they would spin rapidly and tear open it's target. Thanks to his thermal vision, Arrow was able to see and avoid all of the caltrops with ease by simply rolling to the left. He was still inside range of the smoke so Jason couldn't see him. Steven was going to use this to his advantage by shooting the frozen arrow from a angle hoping to throw off Jason and get shot in. The thermal vision was blurry and his aimed was slightly messed up from the flash bang, so Steven aimed for a easy target. Aiming the frozen arrow for Jason's right leg since it was the easiest target from his current angle. Releasing his grip on the string, the arrow soared through the air right for Jason's leg. If the arrow hit, it would freeze over part of his knee and lower his moving capabilities so he could charge in for his next attack.

The shockwave washed over him, but with his low profile it Jason was unmoved. He shifted, crouched like a sprinter when an landed in the ground next to him. The tip shattered, and a chill washed over him as water condensed and froze on the ground. His boot had been there a moment earlier. Despite the smoke his enemy could see.

Jason uttered a mental curse, the man was clearly a master of the bow, and was doing a fine job of keeping him at a distance. He wondered how, the first thing that came to mind was thermal sight.

-Lets turn up the heat- Insdie Jason's jacket numerous pockets held short blades, but even more held cards, dabbed with ink depiciting arcane runes. The complex etchings were limited by the size of the cards but even their tiny effects could alter the battlefield. He grabbed a few as he leapt to another clear point in the caltrops and tossed them into the smoke, activating each.

(Rune: Heat: Able to generate temperatures of up to 150C, which triggers autoignition of the card stock, consuming it before it can go any higher. The rate of heat is set by Jason before starting.)

Each card began warming, radiating more than 10 degrees above the average human body. The cards began to warm the surrounding levels, Jason felt the air warm, focusing on evasion until he was sure thermal became useless.

Long Live the King - Page 2 Empty Re: Long Live the King

Post by The Black Arrow March 4th 2011, 2:51 pm

Steven watched and examined every move Jason made. He may not of known it, but with every step he made Steven gained information. His reaction time to his arrow was magnificent. Much better then Steven expected. Clearly this man was trained well, but Arrow still needed more information before he would resort to using some of his more lethal gadgets. Ya can never be too careful, besides killing people wasn't his style anyway. He used some kind of device that heated the area, and shut down Steven's ability to see him with his thermal vision. Black Arrow felt the increase in temperature and instantly ruled out heat vision as well. Heat vision in these conditions would only blind. Clicking a button on his mask, switching out of thermal and into his normal vision. Damn, so now Steven didn't have the advantage of sight over Jason. So it seemed this guy had gadgets of his own.

All these thoughts ran through his mind in the blink of a eye. Without hesitation, right after he flipped into his normal vision he made his move. Wrapping his bow back around his shoulder, Arrow was gonna take this fight in for a bit of hand-to-hand combat, see just how well Jason could handle himself. Sprinting forward through the remains of the smoke at Jason, Steven closed in the gap quickly with his super-human speed. When they were about ten feet from eachother, Black Arrow jumped off the ground flying through the air. Sticking his leg out trying to do a fly-kick with the momentum he picked up from sprinting. He expect Jason would have some kind of reversal to his attack, so he kept the toxin bomb in the palm of his hand, hidden.
