Ines sped through the lower burbs of London, kicking up littered pieces of trash and loose newspaper. The club she sought out lay only a few miles before her. She thought her anger burned more explosively than any other source in London.

She was wrong.

A car burst into the road, sending Ines to the sidewalk. She slammed on her breaks with all her might, attempting to avoid collateral damage from any on lookers. A large well dressed man brandished a butcher's knife at a masked man. Not knowing the details of the event, Ines judged the situation by the knife. The ongoing saga of the ripper and the abrasive mannerisms lead to the next course of action.

She reached to her side and pulled on the latch that released the latch on the trunk and grabbed a trip wire. She threw it towards the man's knife in an attempt to disarm him. Hopping out of the car she raced towards the trunk, flinging it open and pulling the Winchester out by the handle. She loaded a pellet pouch into the chamber and fired the blunt pouch towards the man's stomach in an attempt to incapacitate him.

Tobais just watched from the sidelines, Amazed by this classic fight of hero vs villian. But he could not tell that Crimson shadow was losing. All he cared about was the cool play on fight he percieved. But then the Thug landed a solid punch on the detective, Tobais was angered, he ran up to the thug as he shouted at the detective. "You shouldn't minded yer own business, This ain't all Hallow's eve anyway ya mask wearing 'Jim-dandy!''

Tobais found this hilarious, "Shouldn't minded yer own business?" This was a double negative that says something along the lines of "Involve yourselves into my business." Tobais was finally at his back. With a fail of a war cry, he smacked the lower back of the thug.

Just then this second car drove up to them. It squealed to a stop, and this woman cam out and ran to the trunk. She grabbed a gun and shot at the thug. The sound of the gun surprised tobais, and made him duck in cover.

(further research on the topic of 'Golden Age" may clue you in to how these sorts of archetypes acted, rolling up and shooting a suspect in the guts with absolutely no proof of his involvement is highly unlikely in this moral setting. After all the man may have been banishing a knife in self defense. )

As the sounds of gun fire erupted, the Crimson Shadow ducked down. When he looked up the thug with a knife was keeled over and holding his midsection. The prostitute was free of his clasp and in retreat toward her other peer in career. The disguised thug dropped to his knees and coughed up a large splatter of blood, his arms wrapped around his body and he looked around dumbstruck as the unexpected carnage unfolded.

The Crimson Shadow looked up and took the horrifying scene in, the amount of carnate, unseen since his days in the war and certainly never on the streets of his home town. His view shot up and saw the girl standing next to a car, she was brandishing a fire arm and had it pointed in this direction. The Crimson Shadow's mind went instantly to incocents of the surrounding area. The young lad, that had tried to help, the poor working class girls that coward in fear at the road side,he knew he had to act fast. Both of his customized fire arms came up and he pulled each trigger as fast as he could. He aimed at no lethal target, but instead above the head of newly arrived assassin. The gas light above her head exploded and shots continued to ring out.

"Boy get those girls to cover before they get killed!" The Crimson Shadow screamed as he let lead fly.

(That was a blunt pellet pouch, a bean bag sack. It would not have penetrated the skin, nor would it have caused him to cough up gallons of blood).

Tobais attack did not even faze the thug. In fact this woman that just started coming out of nowhere started to shoot bullets madly. The thunderous boom of the bullet made Tobais cry and run for cover. It wasn't so much the guns being brandished. It was the sound, a massive sound that pierced the silence of the night like a hot knife in butter. Tobais ears rang. His still developing ears not used to such exposure. Tobais dropped the book again and shoved his fingers in his ears to try to avoid any more gunshots.

"Boy get those girls to cover before they get killed!" The crimson shadow yelled at tobais, but He could not hear the detective. Tobais was already running into a nearby alleyway. Luckily, He did not need to escort the girls anyhow. They fled from the gunners in terror for their own lives. It was understandable. They needed to get out of there anyhow.

Tobais unplugged his ears slightly, to hear if there was anymore shooting. There was none at the moment. Tobais peeked around the corner looking for the crimson shadow and his book. He also noticed that everyone was looking away, He snuck up on his book and tried to recover it.

The Crimson Shadow recovered and made it to his feet, He was ducked down low, ready to utilize his mystical scarf if the gunner started shooting again. But as he looked more closely at the thug he realized that he hadn't been shot at all, there was a limp bean bag laying next to the prone crook. Who ever this gun toting female was, she had used these; if not out of time period, rounds to incapacitate the thug and save his life and surly the lives around him. After returning his weapons to their respective holsters, he nodded in thanks to the woman, most others would have missed that point at this distance, but his detective eye had discerned the fact from her shapely figure in the dim lamplight.

He reached down an picked up the thick tome, his new young friend couldn't seem to keep a hold of and held it with both of his hands. The wounded crook huffed an puffed, trying to get back to his feet, The Crimson Shadow, stopped him with a hardy thud to the side of his head with the thick book. It knocked him out and sent him to the ground with no further argument.

Ines placed her weapon back into the trunk of her vehicle. Flashing a sly smile she walked gently back to the driver seat and blew a kiss to the man she injured. The car started up and Ines took to the streets to finish her own work on her own time.

Golden Age Heroes - Page 3 Empty Re: Golden Age Heroes

Post by Coffinhunter January 2nd 2011, 11:11 am

The Crimson Shadow watched in awe as the mysterious woman disappeared as quickly as she'd arrived. What her motives were, or how she'd known whom to shoot in the first place were a mystery to him. He reached down and picked up the tiny bean bag. Usually these projectiles were shot from shotguns not rifles, in fact he didn't even know how it was possible. 'Strange' he thought to himself.

His attention turned next to the terrified child, this young lad had shown quite a bit of intestinal fortitude when the action had started. Surely the unexpected gun fire had been what had finally broke the lad's nerve. But he hadn't bolted, that was both brave and bold for the inexperience of youth that was par for age. He reached out and held the book at arms length, hoping the offer of his books return would snap him out of his fear stricken mindset.

"It's OK....Who ever that celestial woman was, she was using dummy rounds. He's alive, Are you alright? You did really well kiddo, What was your name?" The Crimson Shadow asked, he did his best to make his his growling masked hero voice as comforting as he could without revealing his true tone.

The real villain had gotten away, but that was a fleeting victory, he'd left this thug behind and now the master detective had someone to question. But the well dressed, and now conscienceless thug was a large chap, too heavy for the Crimson Shadow to carry back to the abandoned airstrip that he used as his secret HQ. Maybe he could talk this brave lad into helping him lug the beefy criminal back for interrogation.

He reached down and pulled the billfold from the psuedo-gentleman's breast pocket. Just as he'd suspected it had a stash of money, probably to help lure one of the poor prostitutes back into whom ever's car that was. He pulled half the wad of paper notes out and offered it up to the young lad.

"You wanna give me a hand packing this portly fellow back to my lair? We can see what he knows..." The Crimson Shadow said as he reached down and picked up the majority of the mans bulk, leaving his feet for the boy to help.

How about a nicely worded PM instead of pointing out flaws in this manner? Just saying...

(OOC he did say it was a mystery to him, meaning he does not WANT to figure out the logic. Nor is there any need to. Slam please back off, I have recieved some actual "Nice PM" concerning your last post. I see an improvement. There is actually nothing wrong with his last post. It was IC not OOC.)

Tobais Was scared and confused. The woman left almost as quickly as she arrived. He went to get his book, it was now slightly waterlogged from the snow. Hopefully it was still readable. Just as Tobais got to his book, The Crimson shadow beat him to it. Tobais whined quietly that his book was taken again. He then gave the book to Tobais, who took it promptly, almost rudely. "It's OK....Who ever that celestial woman was, she was using dummy rounds. He's alive, Are you alright? You did really well kiddo, What was your name?" He said heroically. Just then The crimson Shadow walked over and fiddled with the thugs body. Tobais stuttered a bit and managed to say, "T-Tobais, sir" Then after a minute, he offered tobais a small wad of money.

"You wanna give me a hand packing this portly fellow back to my lair? We can see what he knows..."

Tobais took the money and stuffed it into his pocket, "Ok, sure!" Tobais said, as he grabbed the legs of the thug. Tobais could not do well because of his preadolescence muscles and his book hampered him from using both hands. but he tried nevertheless .

(you are spamming Slam, you could have just as easily took your own advice and PMed, if you thought that I did something wrong. But you chose to do it publicly. My character was giving inner monologue that is relevant to the story, he's a detective. You should stop now, you are only making yourself look as immature as I believe you to be.)

The Crimson Shadow nodded as Tobias grabbed at one of the thugs feet and did his best to help. They wouldn't have to make it too far, The masked vigilante had parked his car just on the other block. The would load him into the trunk and then set off to the abandoned air strip.

The ride wasn't long, but long enough for the red masked hero to ask his new friend some questions; " Sooo, where'd you get that book anyway? Do you know what it is, from what I can guess it looks pretty old." The Crimson Shadow asked as he cruised the back dirt roads. He had the pedal pegged and was driving very fast, though he often took his eyes off the road and started down at the boy. It was an unnerving act to anyone that wasn't an experience fighter pilot. To the Crimson Shadow this car drive was as exciting as a child's amusement ride. What looked reckless to others was barely enough to elevate his breathing.

As they arrived at the air field he spike the cars brakes and spun the vehicle around backward and into a hanger. The huge buildings door barely opened enough to allow the skidding car entry before returning to it's closed position once again. The Crimson Shadow looked down at the boy to try and get a feel for the excitement the young lad must be feeling.

The lights of the giant building come on automatically, another sly innovation to someone who had never seen that sort of technological marvel before. Inside was a large tarp covered mass that could only be a WWI bi-wing fighter plane. The Crimson Shadow popped the trunk and lugged the now conscience and struggling Thug out of the trunk and over to a chair that was bolted to the ground. He spent the next couple of minuted binding the thug down before finally squaring off in front of the now blubbering criminal.

The menacing visage of the Crimson Shadows masked face came in close, almost nose to nose. His unblinking stare glaring at the criminal yet not saying a word, until finally whispering in his gruff hero tone; "Who do you work for?"
