Rating
Sexual Content 2: Sexual content is permitted. References and writing about genitalia and sex acts are permitted, but explicit detail is not. Fade to black, or use the dotdotdot rule. (Let's keep it PG-13.)
Violence 2: Graphic violence is permitted. Explicit description or in-game narration violence is allowed.
Despite these ratings, keep in mind that there is a limit, and you should not cross it just to garner attention. Also, resorting to curse words is also like adding senseless fluff to your posts.

In the wake of shadows
The sun was bright. Unusually bright he realized.
It felt like his eyes were burning, boiling in the sun despite the sunglasses he wore. Samael squinted, looking down as if that would somehow lessen the intense glare of the star. Colorless black eyes were watering, though luckily the small glamour in his sunglasses protected them from the common man and their prying eyes. Were he not so blessed, he was sure his skin would have been burnt red by now. This was the rare quiet time between jobs, when he wasn’t out doing whatever the kingpins of the secret world wanted him to do.
Despite the heat he was dressed in the usual fashion with black pleather jacket, jeans tucked into boots and shade set upon his nose with a glamour to keep his eyes looking more mundane. It was daytime which meant Adam was doing his whole sleep of the dead thing, Isroh was likely busy doing other things and he was sure Lily didn’t exactly like talking to him. That meant there wasn’t much he could do as far as downtime activities. Especially when he already visited the second or third large tower at least fives times. Honestly at this point it was one of those boredom things he could do without.
He massaged the bridge of his nose, feeling a pounding headache coming on. Honestly he wished Adam could be here, maybe they could head to one of those vamp restaurants with the blood recipes. He didn’t like the iron smell of the blood meals, though he knew how much vampires liked being able to enjoy anything. These thoughts were small things that made his life overall a little easier. Despite the hell sphere that was the sun beaming down on the city down above. Looking out over the great lake that jutted into Chicago, he wondered what he could do to waste some time.
Of course that was when he noticed something that normally didn’t happen around the city. Not that metahumans were an overly uncommon occurrence these days. It was a large wave, one that rose high above the water; higher than usual anyway and the speak of someone surfing along the wave.
Was that normal?
Not really and he had the feeling people were really paying attention to the sight, With a sigh he moved towards the wave, seeing some walking along the shore turning their attention to it as well. Wet sand crunched under his boots as he crossed the small beach. Mostly jagged rock, though some of the shore had been worn away into something that resembled what he was used to seeing on Oceanside vistas. Already without thinking he had removed the red crystal stylus, imbuing a rune into the flesh of his lower arm. It was just meant to confuse the mundane eye, make him appear as something or someone else. Just to avoid any cameras connecting him with his felon status.
Wings slipped through the back of his leather jacket. Blacked and feathered things that stretched in the open air, and he was off in a split second. People saw and remembered just a black blur, though he tried to be sure the glamour didn’t affect the person he was flying towards. Banking close enough to the crest of the wave to be heard when he spoke. ”Little bit of a flashy display isn’t this? Might draw the right kind of attention!” He didn't have to interfere and something in him fought against it, but he saw enough on the news to worry that someone would make their own move if he didn't.
