the Past of the Meta-Human Part 1 Empty the Past of the Meta-Human Part 1

Post by Joseph Pokakaa December 21st 2009, 3:18 am

Meta-Human flew to the perch at the top of the second tallest tower; sitting looking down at the lights. Cold, dark, and no shine except for the light of the moon; the city's smog was completely blocking out the stars from the sky. It’s the only night time that people can truly tell that the patch of earth, redundantly named the same thing twice, is completely polluted by their own actions. No star shine, barely any moon and smog; a lot of smog. Was Meta-Human just another mutant born from the pollution of the earth? A simple answer was not given to him when he was left alone in an orphanage at his first year of light. Did his father ever look into his baby brown eyes and just go," Did I just father the most insignificant creep of the twenty-first century?"

To every son guy that just sits and waits for his kids to get home from school, and hug them; he had a pain. He had only his girlfriend Trisha, and his best friend Zeke; at age twenty-two. No one to take him home and give him hugs, just nothing, for twenty-two years. Who were his parents? Meta-Human stood up and spread his arms out. Just jumped and slowly moved his arms into dive position to break bugs and turbulence. The people cried out when they saw him until he started to fly up. They cheered as the hero flew up into the sky to do nothing, but save them. That was the norm for him flight, pulled punches, muggers thrown in jail.

The next morning he got up to scout out the air again. He flew high into the sky to see where all the major locations of the city were and just to get away from some of the noise. He floated through clouds and smog for an hour before he heard a yell from a bomb squad. Flying down immediately, he quickly inspected the area. Landing on the pavement, and watching the bomb about to blow. The bomb squad yelled to him that the bomb was about to blow. He thought fast and grabbed it with both hands in his suit. He flew as high as he could, atmospheres of pressure fading little by little. Just as he heard a tick, it was flung. Then covering his ears and bracing for impact he waited; nothing came. The hero looked up at it to see that the bomb had just started to fall back at him. He shot back down to the earth’s atmosphere to escape it. He turned back just quick enough to see if he was escaping it. It was a trap coming to kill him; chasing him like a cheetah. It hit him hard as he caught it; it gripped him, clung. Just to make matters worse, the bomb's countdown restarted at ten seconds, but didn't count down.

On the Earth's surface, the bomb squad man pulled out a trigger device from his pocket; pressing the button. The squad man's button jammed and didn't respond. He pressed it as hard as he could, break it completely. Frustrated he threw the broken button to the ground harshly; shattering it. The man took to the skies after the Meta-Human, who had just gotten the bomb off of him and threw it away. Turning back to go down to earth he was immediately punched with a huge attack. The bomb squad figure he saw stood, in air, hovering like Meta-Human. Older, and bald, with the eyes of a dead vulture eaten by its family, was burning into the hero's forehead. Like that, quicker and more forceful than his powers, the old man was on him; the cold wrinkled figures digging into his head.

Within his mind he saw images of an evil malevolent villain that was leveling all that stood. Everything was in a post apocalyptic state, with people scattered all over the place; dead. At that point he knew it was the old man that was going to cause all of that. His evil plan to kill and get rid of him was going to succeed if the bomb had gone off. Then as fast as the man had dug his filthy hands into his skull, he was gone. He had to stop that man at all cost or there would be no earth.

Late that night he stopped off at his friends’ house, Trisha and Zeke, to maybe get a feel on what he could do about the man. They had no clue that there could really be someone as strong and as fast as their friend, The Meta-Human. They could not believe another complete version of him, older and stronger though. They discussed with him the possibilities he could go through and even the vision that was shown to him; Zeke slid back at the computer.

Trisha stared at Zeke on the computer looking up the near-disaster," What did you find on him Zeke," she quickly asked, attempting to get a peak at his screen; no luck.

Zeke sighed and typed continuously without looking at the keys or Trisha," I've got nothin over here Trish, just accounts of super powered old men, and Viagra. The internet is as crazy as squirrel gathering popcorn from teenage mothers."

Joseph, The Meta-Human, just rolled his eyes grabbing a chair to sit backwards in," You and your southern proverbs," replied Joseph with a sigh," They are crazier than that internet that is crazier then those squirrels

Trish laughed at the joke, while Zeke scuffed a bit; jamming his fat fingers on that keyboard. Joseph went upstairs with Trisha to talk more while Zeke made a comment to himself," Guy with a red-head."

Joseph could hear him from up the stairs in Trisha's room," At least I have got a red-head," he yelled quickly, much to Trisha's delight," So what were we doing just last night?"

Trisha rolled her eyes," Nothing and it will stay nothing until we get married," she kissed his cheek," You just hurry up and save the world again super-boy,” said Trisha as she pushed him towards the window,” Go out on patrol I’ll be here when you get back.”

Joseph stopped at the window and lifted it open so he could fly out; then he turned to Trisha saying,” I’ll see ya later Trish,” kissing her before fly out the window.

The three islands had two gangs within them; both murderous. The Transients and the red hoods both ruled over two islands and were currently fighting over the third. They didn’t care who got hurt in the process, or how many lives were shattered; all they wanted was territory. Territory is profit to them; but meaningless when you truly look at it. What did they want the territory for; Drugs, women. They really had no reason to do such, they didn’t sell drugs and they had no women, who volunteer anyway. The hoods were just thugs, but the transients had a reason. They had specifics as to what exactly they wanted. Although the Meta-Human had no clue to what; it was clear they weren’t as fortunate as the hoods. Transients wear green trash bags over their heads with spray paint of white on the face of it. Absolutely absurd behavior for homeless people apparently.

These gangs were under control though, and the Meta-Human was able to suppress their battles over the third island for a time. The true evil came from the old man. He had ambitions to destroy everything in his path and he was going to accomplish it if that bomb had blown on Joseph. To rule the world he had to eliminate the only person that could stop him. The images that were passed through his head were clear, and the possible future of all that lived was shown.
