Avalon

Avalon is an organization of heroes founded by a retired hero Liam Lockwood with the intention of doing good around the world while keeping the identity of its members a secret. It was a group founded on the ideals of what it meant to be a true hero, to really be a force of good in the world. With an advanced system of teleportation Avalon's members can be all over the world in an instant to help protect it from any of dangers whether they be other empowered people or forces of nature or some otherworldly threat. No matter the crisis, Avalon will do whatever it can to stand against it and support the people of the world.


Avalon, being a group of heroes, has taken upon several different goals and missions. There are many dangers that lurk in this world and beyond, threats that loom overhead, but Avalon's goal stretches beyond just dealing with these problems. Additionally, Avalon seeks to be a haven for metas, providing them with the means to make a life for themselves and to better control their abilities, no matter how dangerous they are.

While these goals are challenging, Avalon has established the means to achieve them. Working with a new form of teleportation Avalon's members can travel around the world in an instant, allowing them to handle threats that may emerge at any moment.  The group also provides several opportunities to improve the talents and abilities of metas which is achieved via several different styles of training and sparring or through making technical improvements to a hero's gear and attire.

In order to provide a safe place for metas to reside in and learn to better control their abilities Avalon has established itself in a very small town in upstate Maine. These members of this town are all members of Avalon, in one way or another. The town was converted over to a company town by Liam Lockwood who established another branch of his business there. In this low populated area it gives metas the chance to get a home and be part of a community that will help them grow and develop. There are several groups within the town dedicated to just that, even the school offers after-school programs to help the younger metas learn to better control their abilities.

To ensure the safety of the members of Avalon there have been several measures made to keep its existence a secret, or, at the very least, its location. Many members of the town, while still being part of Avalon, work to make the town seem normal for anyone who may be passing through. They also keep a watch for anything that may be amiss or for any unwanted guests. To the naked eye, the town looks as though it is just another boring, small town. Social networking of the residents of the town is also highly monitored, ensuring no one makes a post or uploads a video that may threaten the security of the organization. The networking section of Avalon also protects against anyone who would attempt to hack in or spy on the group's or town's activities.


The town known as Haven is Avalon's base of operations! This small town is located in upstate Maine on the mainland away from the coastline. It nestled between a well sized lake and a small mountain that looms over it. It was originally a mining town, but when the mine dried up most of the town folk left to seek the means to survive elsewhere. The town was then revived when Liam Lockwood constructed a nuclear power plant in this small and converted it over to a company town. Through hard work and getting the right people he quickly had the town of Haven in the ranks of Avalon. The town since has acquired quite the number of places of interest, at least for the residence there, these being in addition to what had already been there. These locations include:

• Nuclear Power Plant: The power plant constructed by Liam Lockwood's company. He has several built around the nation and is his main source of income. Several members of the are employed at the plant.
  
  
• North Pine Mountain/Old Mine: At the north end of town there is a small mountain with an old abandoned mine that the town was founded around. It was used to mine gold, but the deposit was quickly mined dry. Today, the mine is used as a training course for Avalon. It can be re-outfitted to suit the needs of anyone running the course.
  
  
• Haven's Orphanage: A local orphanage/charity that provides a home for young metas who have lost their parents. Additionally, the private wealthy donors who keep Avalon funded donate to this orphanage, the money is then split and a large portion of it goes to Avalon.
  
  
• Wolasto Lake: A medium sized lake that rests at the south side of Haven. It is the perfect place for swimming or for fishing! The Power Plant also uses the lake as a method of cooling.
  
  
• Haven's School Distract: Due to the low population of the town the school distract is just as small. Despite this it is very good learning institute, especially for young metas. The school offers several after-school programs to help young metas learn how to better control their powers.
  
  
• Lakeview Casino: There is a small casino in the town, nothing too large, but it partly takes blame/covers for the large power drain the base needs. Most of the upstairs section of the casino are just empty blank rooms that are always “occupied” and going through “renovations”.
  
  
• Housing: For anyone seeking residence in the town of Haven there is a good quantity of open houses for sale! They come in a great variety and at decent prices.
  
  
• Lockwood Manor: Liam Lockwood’s original residence in the town, however he has since turned his home into Avalon’s base of operations. He spent years constructing an underground section to his home that could facilitate Avalon’s needs. Several features of his home had also been renovated to further his vision of Avalon. His manor rests several miles from the town, overlooking it from the side of the small mountain that town is built at the base of.
  
  

Avalon’s main base needed to be both a stronghold and a place metas could feel safe and at home. Liam Lockwood worked hard to make his home such a place. It contains many facilities and specialized personnel.

The property itself has a nice good size to it, comprised of three main buildings, a courtyard, and is walled off by an eight foot stone wall. The main building sits at the far end of the property, opposite side of the gate leading in, and the other two buildings sit on either side of the gate. Directly below this property there is an underground section of the base where the more technical part of the organization functions. The facilities that can be found on site are:

• Courtyard: A very sizable portion of the property. For the most part the courtyard is clear of hedges, pottery, statues and other lawn decorations, it only consists of well-trimmed grass. Around each side of the courtyard this is stone paved walkway which leads from the front gate to the other buildings on the property. The courtyard center can actually open up in a sliding motion, and acts as an exit for the underground garage.
  
  
• Main House/Entrance Zone: The main house consists of a few facilities that are free use for any member of Avalon. The most important feature of this house is the main entrance to the underground base. Going down into the basement there is a wine rack, that, when the correct bottle of wine is pulled, will open into a small room containing a staircase leading down into the base, as well as two elevators leading into the entrance hall.
  
  
• Main House Facilities: In the west wing there is a small library, a study, and a lounge. The east wing contains the dining hall, the kitchen, and an indoor pool. The upstairs contains another study and lounge area, as well as several guest rooms and the master bedroom. There are of course several bathrooms and closest for storage. Behind the house there is a second, slightly larger, pool!
  
  
• West Gate House:  The right gate house acts as a garage for Liams private vehicles as well as any guest’s vehicle. This building also acts as the ground level security station, housing a monitoring room, a small armory, and bunks for the guards who patrol the grounds.
  
  
• East Gate House: The left gate house primarily acts as another lodging for guests and visitors. It contains four master bedrooms, a small kitchen/dining room combo, a small gym, and a media room.
  
  
  Lower Level
  
  All the rooms in the underground are connected by central hallway which loops around the base forming a square shape. Elevators and emergency staircases that lead to the ground levels and sub-levels are found all around this loop. These additional entrances are guarded at all time.
  
  
• Entrance Hall: This will be the first room people enter upon using the main entrance. Here there is a large semi-circular desk operated by two or three receptionists who will greet members of Avalon upon entry, help newcomers find their way around, and update those who enter of any messages or urgent tasks Avalon has issued.
  
  
• Debriefing room: This room is found in the west hallway between the Network Room and the Workshop/Armory. This room contains a small stage and is surrounded by several rows of seats forming a semicircular, increasing in height the close it gets to the main doors of the room. This room is mainly used for debriefings, demonstrations of new tech, and general important meetings.
  
  
• Networking Room: This room is found in the west hallway between the Debriefing Room and the Arcway. It is a large computer room in which all of Avalon’s systems function from and all forms monitoring and reporting take place. They keep a watch and report any sightings or information regarding malicious activities. This room also functions as the archives for the base, keeping both digital and written reports of Avalon’s activities.
  
  
• Armory/Development Room: This room is located in the western wing between the Debriefing Room and the Entrance Hall. This is where all of Avalon’s armaments are kept (Minus those that metas wish to keep on their person). Maintenance and Research teams also work in here to keep the base functioning and to develop new technology which can be used by the agents. Improvements to hero costumes and their armaments can be made here as well.
  
  
• Arcway: This is a long hallway that is found on the Northern side of base, it borders the Networking Room, the Round Table, the Security Room, and one of the Dojos. There are several stationary rooms attached this hallway. These rooms act as teleportation beacons that connect to several cities around the world. Using these teleporters heroes can travel back and forth between the preset destination. There are currently beacons in: Vienna, San Fran, Shanghai, Toronto, Melbourne, Berlin, Sydney, Moscow, Madrid, Seoul, DC, Brussels, Beijing, Chicago, Singapore, LA, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Paris, London, NYC, Lagos, Cairo, Dar es Salam, Nairobi, Accra, Johannesburg, Mogadishu, Tripoli, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Bogota, Santiago, Quito, Lima, New Delhi, Ulaanbaatar, Damascus, Kabul, and Pyongyang.
  
  
• The Round Table: This room is found on the Northern end of the base, it borders the Arcway and Security Room. This room acts as a private meeting room for the council that leads Avalon for them to discuss important matters regarding Avalon. It contains a large round table with a center computer console in the table. This console can emit large, 3D holographic images for the council members to look over.
  
  
• Security Room: This room can be found on the Northern end of the base between the Arcway, the Round Table, and a Dojo. This room acts as a monitoring room for the cameras around the base, a meeting room for the guards, and the general place of operation for the guards. There are a few secure lockers in which a small supply of armaments is kept for the guard. The entrance to jail cells is also kept here.
  
  
• Dojos: The dojos can be found on the east end of the base. There is a total of three dojos, all right next to each other. These dojos border the Arcway and the Medical Center. The dojos act as a place for metas and members of Avalon to train and workout. The rooms can be set up with a variety of obstacles and hazards to make training more challenging.
  
  
• Medical Center: This section of the base can be found on the East end of the base between the Entrance Zone and the Dojos. This room has been separated into thirteen smaller rooms. Twelve of these rooms are dedicated to housing patients and the thirteenth acts as an operation room for those who are seriously injured. The medical center has a vast amount medical supplies, equipped to handle most medical emergencies.
  
  
• Garage: The garage is at the very center of the base, located between pretty much every room. The garage contains a good variety of vehicles for use during missions and training exercises. The center platform of the garage can raise up out of the ground and into the Courtyard above. The vehicles in the Garage include: Two tactical long-bed trucks (Used to transport people, each can carry up to twenty four people),  two military grade jeeps (Good for traveling over tough terrains), two skimmers (Small aircrafts meant for stealthy approaches, can carry up to six people), two amphibious transports (a small craft that can be operated on land or sea, can hold up to eight people each), and one siege tank (a single operated tank, meant for handling large beasts and creatures normal means could not remedy).
  
  
• Vault One: Vault One is a sublayer of the underground base, its entrance is located in the security section of the base. Vault One is a well sized area which contains a variety of cells meant to house captured criminals and villains and hold them until further action is decided upon. The cells can be reoutfitted to hold unique and special metas who would normally have an easy time escaping. (Vault One and Two are not connected)
  
  
• Vault Two: Vault Two is a sublayer of the base, its entrance is located down a hallway between the Workshop/Armory and the Entrance Zone. In this section of the base several powerful objects and artifacts are stored here, kept in safe containment units to ensure they cannot be used for harm or any other malicious purposes. (Vault One and Two are not connected)

What assets, such as money or technology, would your membership bring with it? “I am capable of creating things, I can create anything that's not a sentient creature, so I can feed people and create resources of material’s, and I am able to reverse recent injuries. So I could help with generally anything.”

"I could... I could teach while I study my fighting programs. I can project all my combat simulations real time on a screen or hologram. I've got loads of those up in my head."

Do you consider yourself a hero? ”That’s the big question, isn’t it? Yeah, I consider myself a hero. Question is, do other people? I fight for justice and free will but do people see that? I worry about it all the time because it’s like, all the greatest monsters of our generation think they’re fighting for the greater good. What if ‘m doing more harm than good?”

Why do you wish to join Avalon? ”Look. I spend every day and night fighting crime, on the streets and otherwise. I’ve seen the scum of the earth get away with crimes that would make the Third Reich sick and I’ve dealt with super criminals that kill and abuse and destroy things with impunity just because they can. And despite this, heroes fight against. Through overwhelming odds, the good ladies - and gentlemen - of this world who aren’t batshit crazy fight against these injustices. I feel as if I’ve done my part as a cop. It’s not solving anything, not with corruption rampant in the highest levels of the office. Shit, you can’t book a convict without three lawyers threatening you with lawsuits! I’m tired of it. Avalon can change that.”

You could always talk ta that Pinnacle guy, if he’ll let ya. He’s as mysterious as a cowpoke in a gator farm, but he’s alright folk. Then there’s Samuel Grayson. Had a few run-ins with the little guy, he knows what I’m all about.

Where do you feel you would best fit within Avalon? ”A leadership role. I’ve spent a decade in the New York Police Department, and half of that was as a detective and leader of the SWAT. I’ve experienced tactical situations that most normal people haven’t and can bring my instinct and knowledge to this organization..”

What assets, such as money or technology, would your membership bring with it? ”Honey, I don’t got money or nothing like that. Just me, whatever that’ll get me. I’m not rich, I don’t have an army, all I got are me and my skills and possibly the advice and knowledge of an omniscient ever-present god. If she doesn’t feel like being a bitch.

Why would I consider myself a hero? I wanna help people. Whether or not I’m a hero is a matter of opinion and circumstance. A hero isn’t just some job title that can be handed out to just about anyone. It’s something that should be earned. In this day and age, we treat anyone as a hero just because they put on a cape and call themselves captain buttcheeks. Look at the “hero” lightyear. Sure, he’s stopped a bank robbery once or twice. But his actions are selfish. He does it for the glory. So if you want my answer; it’s actually fairly simplistic. No. I don’t consider myself a hero. I see myself as somebody who would jump on the frontlines to save someone else. Calling anyone a hero these days is insulting real heroes.

Ouros. He’s the head of the infinity academy. Samael Christensen may also vouch for me, though I wonder how his reputation fairs currently what with him being blackmailed into joining that pumpkin headed freak and his cronies.

Seeing as i'm a homeless man on the run from a black ops Israeli program; I can tell you with absolute certainty; that the only money and tech I can bring you is what I manage to salvage from fights. It isn’t thievery if the parts to make something was already stolen after all.

Why would I consider myself a hero? I wanna help people. Whether or not I’m a hero is a matter of opinion and circumstance. A hero isn’t just some job title that can be handed out to just about anyone. It’s something that should be earned. In this day and age, we treat anyone as a hero just because they put on a cape and call themselves captain buttcheeks. Look at the “hero” lightyear. Sure, he’s stopped a bank robbery once or twice. But his actions are selfish. He does it for the glory. So if you want my answer; it’s actually fairly simplistic. No. I don’t consider myself a hero. I see myself as somebody who would jump on the frontlines to save someone else. Calling anyone a hero these days is insulting real heroes.

Seeing as i'm a homeless man on the run from a black ops Israeli program; I can tell you with absolute certainty; that the only money and tech I can bring you is what I manage to salvage from fights. It isn’t thievery if the parts to make something was already stolen after all.

So. Sock has been traveling the southern US for about 6 years now. I didn’t put anything into history, but he did defeat a few villains in that time.

Nathaniel is best known for being Tyuki's uncle, Chelle's brother, and son of Lucifer. Nathaniel is likely best known for his smaller feats of stopping bank robbers, or jewel thiefs. He's always been a fly under the radar type of hero, and he doesn't like to stand in the lime light.

Had a few run-ins with the little guy, he knows what I’m all about.

I’ve experienced tactical situations that most normal people haven’t and can bring my instinct and knowledge to this organization..”
