Sock is a very protective person. He will not back down from a fight unless it is 100% necessary. Especially if it involves an ally or an innocent.

Sock spends his days with a sarcastic attitude and a general disinterest towards small things. However you can count on him to make the harder choices.



When Isocrates was young, and going under the name Thomas Cresswell Jr, his mother and father got into an awful fight. Thomas Sr. wanted something his mother didn’t, and when he saw his mother suddenly agree for no real reason; he knew that Thomas Sr. had used his power. That night, his power manifested. Thomas was powerless just long enough for his mother to call the cops.

It wasn’t long before the men showed up to take him away. People with his ability were rare, and they wanted to train him to become a weapon. They turned him into a secret weapon in an arms race. An arms race that would no doubt involve other kids.

Isocrates trained day in and day out before he escaped with the help of a few other inmates.

He spent some time living on the streets, when a man took him in and taught him how to live his life. He taught him kindness, mercy, and how to cook. Over the years, this man, as Isocrates later found out, was actually supposed to retrieve him but seeing the - now age 16 - boy, had taken pity on him.

Eventually, Sock left for college on a culinary arts degree. In his fourth year, a super villain attacked his school. The only thing that saved his class was his training, but they kicked him out anyway. Saying that since the super villain community knew of such a threat, they’d surely come after the school. Paranoia? Perhaps. Unreasonable? Of course. But nothing was going to change their minds.

Sock spent the rest of his time traveling the United States by greyhound bus, making money through his cooking, and doing hero work here and there.

Power Nullification Field - In a 30 foot radius around him, Sock can create a nullifying field that completely negates superhuman abilities and effects created by superhuman abilities including gear created by enhanced intelligences, and attacks. Superhuman is anything that cannot be accomplished by a normal human. This is achieved through a very specific form of reality warping. This is not an aura and must be turned on and off. Exhaustion - After 3 posts; Sock loses the ability to sustain his field for another 2 posts.

Human - Sock has no defense against things a normal human could kill him with. Including blades, guns, fists, etc. and relies on martial arts training to avoid being immediately destroyed.

Mind Control - Any type of mental tampering done before the field goes up continues to function in Socks mind.



Sock has to rely on human technology. Thus, his items are all mundane. Bullet resistant jacket, an array of knives, and a mask that covers his face.



Visibility - When something enters the field, it begins sparkling for their own sight allowing them to see the radius.

Martial Arts Training - Sock was trained in the art of Krav Maga as a child, and has managed to obtain a second degree blue belt.

Professional Chef - Sock is capable of creating a four star meal quite easily and is uniquely suited to finding proper ingredients.
