An Interesting World (Samual Grayson, Night Walker, Witchcraft and Nolan Darner)

Nolan growled as he turned around and saw that his sister had run off. Again. Where the h*ll did she run off to this time?! Shaking his head slightly, he ducked into a nearby ally and started climbing the fire escape. Upon reaching the top, he shifted, bones tearing through the skin of his back, skeletal tail doing much the same, bones soon covered by the thinnest layer of flesh possible. Oh... yes... He smirked at the pain his transformation caused him as it continued, skin paling even further, nails sharpening and teeth forming to be needle-like points.

Ten minutes later found him hovering above an abandoned carnival, watching as demons moved towards a small, blonde girl. So that's where she went... He was about to fly down when he noticed another silhouette hidden slightly by the thin fog.

Sam tossed another ball with surprising accuracy. The stack of cans came tumbling down onto the stand's floor. With a smile, Sam gives a small fist pump and hops over the railing to fetch his old, dusty prize. All that was left was a half dozen teddy bears (most of which were missing a limb or two), a few stuffed lizards, and an old plastic sword. He took the only teddy bear with all of its appendages.

He hopped back over the railing and looked around. For a moment all he saw was the old, destroyed carnival, but soon his eyes fixated on a figure. Small and bouncing. It was girl, skipping through the mist that touched the ground. He rubbed his eyes once to make sure it wasn't just the fumes from the mold and dust, but sure enough...she was there.

"Hey!" He called out, waving a arm. He beganto jog towards her, though she far and it took him a moment. Once there he took a few breaths, then straightened and smiled at her. "Hey there, little lady! What you doing out here? Where are your parents?"

Nolan watched as his sister didn't even turn her head to glance at the man, the demon's form soon gliding slightly lower, close enough to hear Dolly's soft tones, an underlying hint of malice in her voice.

"Does it matter?" She looked around, gaze soon settling on what looked to be a small puppy, its tail a black, shining snake. "Finally!" She knelt lightly, her brother frowning.

Not a hellhound... Nolan groaned slightly, a small grimace on his face. I've told her a thousand times... I'm not going to let her keep one... WIth a sigh, the demon flew down, landing between two nearby stalls, out of view but still able to hear, and shifted back to human, senses still enhanced.

Sam blinked at the girl and let out a small chuckle. "Of course it matters! Someone must be worried sick. What's your name, sweetheart?"

Sam looked up and tried to see what she was staring at. He tilted his head at the empty road ahead. Maybe one of the tents on the side of the road?

"You doing alright? Oh!" An idea crossed his mind. "Ever been to a park like this? I used to work in one, I could show ya around, buddy! I know these places like the back of my hand! I'm sure I could get a few rides running if this place still has some juice."

Nolan's sister replied, tone sharp. "Dolly."

Slowly, the king began moving towards the pair, still listening.

"Like I'd be interested in this stuff." The young girl reached out to scratch behind the ear of the hellhound pup. "I'm here for the wild... dead..." She smirked as if it was an inside joke.

"Ah...is that so?" He looks around the area, trying to spot any form of parental figure. He goes to scratch the back of his head, but remembers the teddy bear in his hands. He holds it out to her. "Hey! Ya want this? I won it, but there ain't nothing to the games. You can have it, Dolly!"

Dolly glanced at the large bear before slowly standing and taking it, mumbling a few words that even Nolan could barely hear. "Might make it easier to hide my supplies from dad..."

Nolan slowly moved forwards as he sensed a stronger presence, soon seeing what it was. Freaking bloodsucker... He growled lightly but the creature merely moved further from him as it continued towards the pair, cloaked in shadows, a large group of gremlins gathering as well, almost 60 of the small demons. Sh*t...

Sam smiles. He cracks his back and looks around once more. He doesn't show it, but he is bothered by the fact there are no parents around. "So-uh....how did you get here? Where are your parents?
What ya doing here?" He rolls his shoulders a bit. "Let's at least walk around and see what we can find, eh?"

"Parent." Dolly scoffs slightly, bear under one arm, rubbing the hellhound pup under the chin.

Soon, a noise is heard, almost like a ghostly hissing, a figure slowly being revealed from within the shadows, its skin pure white, eyes an ominous red, crimson lines marking a roadmap across its body. Two long fangs, reaching just past its chin, glint in the light of the full moon as it slowly opens its mouth, nearing the pair, ready to strike.

Sh*t, sh*t, sh*t, sh*t! Nolan quickly ran up to his sister, ignoring the demons who backed away slightly at his approach. "You know not to run off, little demon..." He barely spares a glance at the man as he pushes away the young hellhound, glaring at it slightly. "Shoo."

With a small whimper, it ran off.

Nolan looks at his sister again, still ignoring the man. I've told you before. You can't have a hellhound for a pet."

Dolly pouts, arms crossed, and turns away from her brother, only to suddenly spin to face him again, shouting. "No fair! You get to be a king and I get nothing!"

"Not true." He pokes the baby infernos with a finger before standing, turning to face the bloodsucker. "Go."

The gremlins flee but the high-level demon moves forward just slightly.

"Of course you're one of the starved ones..." Nolan sighed, grimacing.

Sam just sort of watches this go on, hands in the pockets of his jacket. He nods slowly, taking in the conversation as awkwardly as he could. When the new young man finishes Sam clears his throat.
"Hey there, pal! She was just standing around so I was checking on her. You her brother or something? You really need to keep a better eye on her,
a lot of these old parts could come loose and really hurt her." He looks at the girl. "This is someone you know, right?"

He freezes. It took him a moment, but he just noticed the beast only a few feet from the group. He goes to grab his wooden pole, but realizes he left it with his bag at the entrance.
"Uh-guys...we should go. Now."

Nolan finally looked over at the man. "I'm surprised she hasn't scared you off..."

Dolly continued to pout, glaring at her brother.

Upon noticing the man's movements, Nolan started to speak only for the man to do so first. The demon quickly responded. "The dumb mosquito wouldn't be this close to me if he'd eaten in the last week." Nolan glanced at the creature, glaring at it, eyes glowing just slightly.

While the bloodsucker's forward movements slowed to barely a crawl, it did not stop nor did it back away.

Nolan sighed and rolled his eyes slightly, looking back at the man for a moment. "You should go."

Sam, yes, a bit nervously, walked past the young man and the girl and stood between them and the beast. He straightens out, trying to seem taller, bigger than he is, and then takes a few deep breaths.

He looks over his shoulder at the duo and gives them a thumbs and a wink. "Don't you two worry about a thing! I'll keep us all, just you watch me!" He looks back to the beast, readying himself against whatever this thing would do.

Nolan sighed. "That thing wants food.
That means you or Dolly. If it was just hunting you, I'd be fine with letting it do so. But one as starved as this needs a lot of blood." Nolan moved to push the man out of his way as he shifted forms, a slight hiss of enjoyment leaving his lips as he felt the pain.

The bloodsucker backed up just slightly before continuing forwards, getting closer and closer to the carnival guy.

Sam didn't budge as the stranger tried to push him aside, though he did take a step back as the man transformed. "That is one fancy trick you got there!" Sam chucked, a bit nervously.
He cracked his knuckles. "Alright, it's a two on one fight this should be easy." He looks back to the monster, ready to go, though, as usual, he'd wait for the beast to attack first.

Nolan rolled his eyes at the man's words, body slowly being covered in flickering flames. "Not a trick." Idiot... The king launched himself at the demon, knocking it to the ground with a growl, eyes glowing, fangs bared, crouching atop the creature, fingers digging into its shoulders, tail slowly moving from side to side on the ground. "It would be all too easy to drain you if your essence right now..." Nolan inhaled sharply, a smirk on his face at the scent of burning blood. "But I haven't had fun in forever..." He hissed slightly as the creature faded into the shadows only for the bloodsucker to reappear several feet away, its usually glowing crimson eyes slightly dull, the only sign of fear in such a creature.

The whole time, Dolly was shouting for her brother to fry its twisted soul.
