Holy Wall breakers, it's a demon...child
Kool-Aid was out on patrol another night, he had no specifics to hunt down tonight. He'd gotten no extra intelligence to tell him of crimes in progress or about to happen, so like other people called heroes even though he didn't call himself that. Kool-Aid was out there doing his own patrol, running across roof tops and looking around for something to happen. It was a quiet night for the young sharply dressed young man, he even had to stifle a yawn as he wondered about.
He got to a break in the buildings and stopped, sitting on the edge of the building and looked around. Knowing he'd have to get down or make a running jump to get across to the other side, but right now he really didn't feel up to doing it. Since he didn't really need to he figured he'd sit and wait here for a while, nothing much else for him to do at the current time.

Re: Holy Wall breakers, it's a demon...child
Dolly Darner, with Flare on her shoulder, was leaning against the wall of one of the older stores in the city, currently waiting for her brother to exit when she happened to glance up and spot a brightly dressed man. I wonder... She smirked and glanced over at Flare.
The demon seemed to give her a curious look only for it to growl, a shriek hinted at, as Dolly grabbed it by its upper tuft and, spinning it, flung the poor Infernos at the man.

Re: Holy Wall breakers, it's a demon...child
Kool-Aid was getting bored waiting around and slipped off his seat on the building, though he didn't see anything he felt a slight disturbance in the air as he feel off. Landing on the ground in a slightly heroic looking pose, he looked up and spotted a young girl across the street by herself.
He went to the side walk, looked both ways on the road though given the time it wasn't likely to have much traffic. Still he did so and crossed the road "So what brings a young girl such as yourself, out here in this rather unfortunate suburb at night" asked Kool-Aid in his charming tone of voice wondering why she was there and if her parents or guardian was somewhere nearby.

Re: Holy Wall breakers, it's a demon...child
Dolly growled when she saw that her plan did not work but soon found herself looking right at the man. Gesturing towards the grocer's entrance, the girl spoke. "Brother. Store. What else?" Her tone was sharp and annoyed, growing even more so as, in a burst of weak flame, the Infernos reappeared on her shoulder. That, in turn, caused her to sigh and glare at it. "What the h*ll can I do to get rid of you?"

Re: Holy Wall breakers, it's a demon...child
The girl wasn't all that friendly it seemed and very sharp in her language, which was sad given the age Kool-Aid guessed her to be. Speaking about her brother being in the store and then about getting rid of him, he sighed a little as the girl really needed some lessons in being nice to people.
"No need to be harsh, I'm simply worried about a girl alone on the street. I don't want anything to happen to you, I'm sure that would worry your brother" informed Kool-Aid trying to not show his slight irritation at the girl's verbose attitude.

Re: Holy Wall breakers, it's a demon...child
Dolly glanced at the... man..? before replying, a slight growl in her tone."You're not the only orange thing here." And the other's quite annoying... She sighed and fell to the ground, arms crossed, and growled again as Flare jumped onto the top of her head, accidentally sparking though, thankfully, not really catching anything but the nearby dumpster on fire.
Just a few moments later, Nolan finally exited the store to find his sister and a brightly dressed man next to a smoking dumpster. Wonder what's going on now... With a sigh, he quickly moved towards the pair and, paying no attention to the smoked trash, spoke, a hint of malice in his voice. "Hello..."

Re: Holy Wall breakers, it's a demon...child
The girl clearly had issues of some kind, whether they were personal or some other kind he didn't know. But as she slumped on the ground, the dumpster nearby caught a light. He could guess there was some connection between her and the fire but he wasn't certain.
Luckily he already had some pre made Kool-Aid in his jacket pocket, something he always made sure to have not just the crystal and powdered kind. With a flick of his wrist in opening the container, he let the liquid out and into the trash hand put out the fire.
Just as the brother came out, he seemed just old enough to be taking care of her which was good. But the tone in his voice seemed a little venomous, he smiled and looked at him "Saw the girl by herself and was just making sure she's okay. Glad to see she is, not safe on these streets by ones self" he commented to the ashen skinned boy.

Re: Holy Wall breakers, it's a demon...child
Nolan nodded slightly before glancing down at his sister, expression and tone slightly sharp. "I told you to keep the stupid creature under control."
Arms crossed, Dolly stared directly into her brother's eyes, a feat most couldn't do for more than a moment thanks to the look held within. "Not my fault it flares randomly." The girl plucked it off of her head and threw it up into the air as she stood, the demon soon on her shoulder again.

Re: Holy Wall breakers, it's a demon...child
It seemed from the guy's words that he was right about the girl, or at least some creature she had on her person that he couldn't quite see. But he did feel something earlier and that same feeling was around the girl somewhere. Her actions noted it's movements ever so slightly but that didn't matter except that it wasn't well trained.
"If you're going to take whatever this creature is for walks, probably best to train it in some way. To avoid such problems in the future, don't want people thinking the girl's a fire bug" coined Kool-Aid in a simple tone.

Re: Holy Wall breakers, it's a demon...child
Nolan glanced at the person, finally deciding to pay some attention to him. "And who might you be?"
Before the man could reply, Dolly spoke as well.
"It's not like I want it following me. But it's extremely clingy."
Flare growled in response to Dolly's words.

Re: Holy Wall breakers, it's a demon...child
The man asked whom he was, he figured it best to just give him work name right now. Not that he hide who he was in anyway, but he was on the job technically. "I'm known as Kool-Aid, I was on patrol when I sure your younger sister alone. I merely meant to check on her welfare" replied Kool-Aid to the guy not knowing his demonic affinity.
He raised an eyebrow at the girls' words but didn't reply to them because they were simply childish prattle. Arguing with a child was pointless, especially one with this kind of attitude. "Simply doing my civic duty" he added.

Re: Holy Wall breakers, it's a demon...child
Nolan turned as the man finished speaking. "I see." Then glanced down at his sister. "Come on. I'm going out tonight and I don't want dad on my tail because you ran off again."
As he reached to grab her arm, Dolly stuck her tongue out and managed to duck behind the dumpster, barely avoiding her brother's hand. "I'm going with you tonight!"
"Actually, you aren't. I can't have you getting hurt."

Re: Holy Wall breakers, it's a demon...child
It seemed the sibling pair had things to do, the girl on the other hand wanted to go with her brother. He didn't know what he was doing but that didn't matter, young children shouldn't be out with older people in a lot of circumstances.
"Should probably listen to your brother, I'm sure whatever he's doing isn't for kids such as yourself" he commented to the girl as she tried to hide behind the dumpster.

Dolly growled at what the man said. "But it's not fair! I'm plain jane and he's a ki-" Her words were cut off as Nolan glared at her.
"You need to be quiet and come with me before dad starts to worry. Now."
Rolling her eyes, Dolly did not budge.

Re: Holy Wall breakers, it's a demon...child
Kool-Aid couldn't guess what she was going to say, but it didn't matter because frankly a young girl didn't need to be in whatever it was that was going on. "I'm sure you'll be able to do things when you're older but for now it's best to go with your brother and do as he asks" he commented.
And from the guys words it seemed their father might get worried as well, which was good that they had a father that wasn't a complete nutjob like his own. "I'll leave you to it, I doubt she's going to listen much to me" added Kool-Aid as he turned on his heel.
