Often Maisie appears to have an uninterested disposition, calm and quiet she lets others do the talking. When she does talk, it tends to be straight to the point, as she has little interest to dragging on about the topic. She considers herself a hero, but has little care for the law because she thinks it often hinders the individual. The people who make the laws often protect the wrong people, because of their corruption. Hence, she refuses to ally herself with any law-enforcement agency. At least, not in an official capacity.

Because she had to live as an experiment, from her own father no less, she is rather sore when it comes to talking about it. If asked, she'll give very vague answers and only shares fully with people she trusts. Maisie tends to have a rather low opinion on people, but still protects them mainly out of defiance of her supervillain father.


Margaret "Maisie" Kane was born in Cheshire, England as the daughter of known supervillain Bishop Kane. He was a master assassin, crime leader, and scientist, who wanted someone who would loyally serve him. She never met her own mother, as she ran away and Bishop would never speak of her. As a man who wanted to test the powers of humanity, Bishop Kane was known for leaving notes behind from his crimes, which was often murder and/or robbery, usually clues, for others to read. It only seemed natural then that Maisie would Kane's top experiment. He had a secret lab in his countryside mansion that he used to experiment with Maisie's blood, altering her DNA extensively to ensure she would be a living weapon. Maisie gained the ability to manipulate paper, which was a complete accident but one Bishop was happy with.

However, Maisie hated what her father would do, and refused to be his weapon. When Bishop threatened to have her killed, Maisie fought back. She escaped from his clutches, and began stopping his crimes. Both him and his organization. She became known as the Papercut, or The Origami Outlaw, for acting completely on her own with a desire to end her father's crimes. When she learned that Bishop escaped justice numerous times due to his ability to control the law, she vowed never to rely on them to stop him. Papercut now acts on her own, traveling the world and hoping to redeem the sins of the father.

She may not view humans in general as being good, but there are bright spots that make it worth while. Maisie does feel a degree of paranoia, knowing her father is after her, and fears what would happen if he caught her.

Paper Manipulation:
She has the ability to control and use paper.. She can use them as sharpened and hardened projectiles, flight, holding people place, and as protection. Her control over paper allows her to make them as strong as steel, and she can move them as fast as 100 miles per hour. Given her being very agile, it works well in making her a mobile threat who can engage at a distance.



Water:
Water can shut down her paper fast, rendering it useless.

Concentration:
Manipulating paper isn't effortless, it requires energy and mental stamina. In a prolonged battle, she can start to feel fatigued after a
while.


Paper:
She can control paper, so naturally she keeps small slips of paper underneath her jacket.


Papercut has natural abilities that aid her. Mainly, she's an olympic level gymnast as a result of being trained by her father, and a skilled hand-to-hand fighter. These things are useful, and go very well with her primary ability.


Paranoia is like a papercut. It hurts and no one can see it. This was a phrase she came up with regarding her current position in life. As a traveler, who had to worry about the men her father would send after her, and a hero with no support from any government, she had a lot to be afraid of. Known as The Origami Outlaw, or Papercut, she helped people across the world, but it was often thankless. Now here she is, wandering with little goals for the future.

Right now, Maisie was in Prague, moving through the city posing as a tourist. With her paper mask off, no one could tell who she was. Just another black-haired girl, and tourists were hardly remarkable. It was doubtful that her father's men would after her here, as Maisie never spoke of traveling to Prague, and it would be like trying to find a needle in a haystack. She sat at a Starbucks, having some coffee while thinking of further plans. She was able to stay afloat by doing various tasks, as there was a use for people like her, but nothing could stick. She took a sip, and pondered what she could do. Prague won't keep me safe for long, I'll have to pack up and go again. Maybe it's time I head to America. There are more people like me there, further from where Dad is.
