A New Friend? Or a New Foe? (Closes after one person)

“New York, a city of the upmost beauty at night. What’s weird about it is that at times like this it seems very peaceful. Almost as if there’s no hint of evil, that it was purified to the fullest extent. But I know the truth, and I’m sure a handful of others do aswell. From what I know the city is still recovering from the last big incident, approximately 86% was fully recovered. But there’s no way of telling when the next big incident would be. I’ll do whatever I can to end this issue once and for all.” Murmuring to himself.

A the sound of quick wisp sliced through the air as a single being had itself perched on the edge of the highest building in New York city. Now in a couching position he sunk low and rested his elbows upon his knees. The large lenses on his mask replicating everything he saw. “There’s no telling when something mi-“
His lenses on his mask displayed his shocked as he felt a small vibration in his back pocket, reaching back to pull out his tiny phone given to him by Professor Matheus when they escaped the “Facility”. On the screen it held that the phone call was transmitting from a block number. But when he answered he could already tell by the voice who it was.

“Yeah?”

“Ah Keshawn, it’s a pleasure to see you still hold the phone I gave you.”

“Yeah, had a feeling we would be in touch again. So I figured it would be better to just hang onto it. What’s up? Same situation as last time.”

“You sure are quick to the point. As always, predictable heh. I’ll be filling you in on everything as always, there’s been reports on the sightings of a creature lurking near the park. Apparently people are reporting it as a cat- woman.”

“Hmm, a cat woman this time. When I  “Detain” her do you just want me to leave her at the usual spot for you to pick up?”

“No this time, I want you to actual wait there with her. Both of you will be coming with me. It’s time we get down to actual business. As you know I’m punctual, so you will have approximately 30 seconds past the set time to bring her to the meeting area. If it gets too heavy just abandon and we can form a new plan. Plenty of other specimen out there.”  Keshawn could hear the tapping going on the other end of the phone, it was obvious that Doctor Matheus was busy at work.

“Don’t doubt me. I’ll be there, and I can do it. Just give me  the address.”

“Yeah, give me a sec- here we go.  I’m hacking into the surveillance camera’s that they usually keep stationed on stoplights anddd..” Professor Matheus’s eyes were scanning across the screen. “I don’t really see anything.” Turning, he went to another computer which was giving off a quiet alarm. “Wait, It seems I’ve found something. There’s an alarm going off on 214 Elms street, an old jewelry store. I was able to cut off the alarm before it reached the police. But only for a few moments before the back up security system kicks in. I suggest you get down there and get it finished before the cops get there. Would defiantly led to more controversy, and we don’t want the government getting a narrowing down on our location.”

“I got it professor I know the deal I’ll be careful. Anything else?”

“Yes, by chance if it is the “cat woman” I would suggest water heh. Cats hate water.”

Keshawn sighed. “Nice one professor, I’ll get to it then.” Hanging up the phone, he took one more long gaze towards the city before pushing himself up on one hand. Style points, slowly tilting over he began to drop off the building now in free fall.

“More and more beings with powers keep appearing over and over the city.” While free falling his body began to twist before kicking off the building going forward. Right hand raising to shoot a web at the closest building, a tight tug shooting him upward onto another roof top. “One by one, we will aim to get rid of all of them.” Sprinting across the roof tops he kicked off once more, running across a wall while people walked calmly on the sidewalks. Not even noticing the being above. He shot another web causing him to sling across the skies. Landing on a wall across the street from the jewelry store, now he was lurking. On the prowl, now crawling across the surface. “We’re here. So now where’s this cat woman.”

The second alarm that Dr. Matheus began to warn about began to kick in, and from what he was told he had around five minutes before the cops were alerted and on their way. No time to waste.

Smiling with the upmost satisfaction as she began grabbing one gem after another into the bag. For those who looked around they would notice claw marks slicing into the security system and places on the wall. It was as if she was looking for something.


“Heh, this really is a breeze. No one working and there’s plenty of time before the cops sho-“ She stopped suddenly as she lightly began to sniff the air. Someone was here, from their fragrance they didn’t hold the scent that most officers had. “How the heck did someone find out so soon, I still have five minutes!” She thought to herself, gritting her teeth. “Someone must have squealed.”

Reaching to grab one more gem before tying the bag, she went over to luck in the shadows. Her animal eye sight allowed her to notice even the tiniest of movements in the dark. The blue flames flickering off his skin made it easier though. Her hand grabbed for the nearest gem, while lurking in the shadows she crawled across the ground behind a desk, throwing the tiniest of gems on the ground across the room to serve the purpose as a distraction.

On the outside Keshawn was using this time to properly prepare just in case things didn’t go as planned.  Large forms of webbing blocked the streets by stretching from one building to another, aiming to not allowing people to enter from the streets. It would take the police quite some time to pass hopefully. He was now crouching on the top of a lamp post, gazing towards the jewelry store. “Let’s go ahead and get this over with.”

He jumped across and landed on the roof, walking over towards the edge and crawling down to the point where he could peek a bit of his eyes through the window. There was someone else there, a being with two swords and bluish flames flickering off his skin. He wasn’t sure how exactly that work, or would it cause for the place to burn. Was the cat woman not here? Was this his doing in robing this little store?

"This has nothing to do with me then.” He murmured to himself, eyes trailing over to look at the red of the stores layouts. There he saw it, a tiny figure lurking in the shadows, she was quite well hidden even for him to see. But Keshawn always his own “personal advantages” when it came to working in the dark.

Waiting, he wanted to see how things would play out, but time really wasn’t on his side. There was no telling how things would of operated.
