Rating
Sexual Content 2: Sexual content is permitted. References and writing about genitalia and sex acts are permitted, but explicit detail is not. Fade to black, or use the dotdotdot rule. (Let's keep it PG-13.)
Violence 2: Graphic violence is permitted. Explicit description or in-game narration violence is allowed.
Despite these ratings, keep in mind that there is a limit, and you should not cross it just to garner attention. Also, resorting to curse words is also like adding senseless fluff to your posts.

The Personality
Alan is a rather kind, soft-spoken individual with a strong dedication to his work. However, he is not one to rush things either, opting to enjoy the simpler things in life when he can, such as beautiful views, good food, friends, and the occasional anime marathon. He has a strong moral code that refuses to permit cruelty of any kind and will put the well-being of people over stopping the villain any day. Perhaps where he falters is in his relationship with authority figures as although he will obey the law, to an extent, he is not above questioning or even going against orders that conflict with his own moral code. This coupled with his somewhat lax form of discipline and his refusal to adhere to strict black and white views of the world can sometimes make it difficult to get along with those who are use to a chain of command.
The Story
Alan's story is not exactly what one would call the happiest, but nor is it downright tragic. The correct term to use might be...complicated. You see, as a child, his father left him and his mother, forcing her to raise their son on her own. Alan never truly understood why they separated and whenever he asked, his mother would simply smile and pat him on the head while saying something along the lines of "we're just working through a few problems, dear. Don't worry, everything will be ok."
However, Alan wasn't dumb. He could tell at a glance that his mother was just trying to make him feel better. As such, he did all he could to make her happy. He worked hard in school and even took up washing dishes and sweeping the floor, among other things, to help when she came home from work, exhausted. However, even with a decent number of friends in school, and his mother's love, he sometimes felt a tinge of envy in his heart at seeing kids being raised by two parents instead of just one.
Regardless, he grew up and completed his schooling, even earning a scholarship to a local college, much to the joy of his Mom and her side of the family. Alan wanted to pursue a career in journalism, see the world and all it had to offer, and his Mom supported him all the way, even after he moved out on his own. However, it seems the powers that be had other plans for the young man.
One night, while out in the hills around town, and watching a meteor shower, one of the "stars" fell not far from his location. When he went to inspect it, the "star" turned out to be a crashed escape pod and inside was what could only be described as an unconscious alien.
Having seen enough sci-fi movies to know if he left the creature here, it would be taken away to be experimented on, Alan whisked her away to his home and spent the next couple of days nursing the alien back to health. Eventually, the Alien trusted him enough to reveal her identity Eventually, the entity trusted him enough to reveal her identity as Aurora, a type of alien life form most referred to as a "Space Siren" and had been captured by a group of space pirates that would now be looking for her since she had
managed to escape, wanting to use her DNA to create more of her kind to sell on the alien black market as weapons and for profit due to her kind's potent psychic abilities.
Not wanting to be the father who abandoned him, Alan agreed to let her stay until they found a way for her to safely leave. However, their peace was short-lived as one evening not long after, Aurora was forced to use her powers to save Alan from a group of hoodlums...which acted as a beacon to the space pirates and got them to come after Aurora. She tried to turn herself over willingly to save Alan...but they took him too as "insurance".
Once aboard the pirate's shuttle, the pirates took the DNA they needed and prepared to execute Aurora with a lethal virus...only for Alan to defend her and be fatally wounded himself. Outraged at this, Aurora's powers went crazy and she trapped all the pirates' minds in endless nightmares. Realizing there wasn't much time left, Aurora took Alan's body and managed to transfer his brain over to the clone body of herself.
When he awoke back in his apartment, it took a while for Alan to adjust to all that had happened to him...but still, he was grateful to have been saved and given a second chance. It was from then on, the two decided to both literally and figuratively work as one hero to ensure more events like what happened to them didn't happen to anyone else.
The Priority
1. Agility 2
2. Endurance 4
3. Reaction 1
4. Strength 3
The Powers
Telepathy- The Siren has a high level of power over the mind and can use this to influence feelings. Psychokinesis- Another power the Siren has a great deal of talent in. They are capable of lifting many more small objects than one person could ever carry or a small number of very large objects. Even tossing around cars or trucks is doable. They are also capable of using it to fly through the air at incredible speeds.
Sound Manipulation- Siren is able to channel their voice to unleash a powerful blast of sound from her mouth in the form of a scream which can fluctuate in power from knocking people off their feet to blasting a hole through several tons of solid concrete.
Enhanced Strength- Do not let the Siren's seemingly fragile state fool you. They are much stronger than they look, being able to reduce a mundane human to a pile of broken bones with one kick and can rip metal doors off their hinges, and with enough effort, can even hold off other high-tier metahumans in physical combat for quite a while.
Enhanced Mobility-Is able to sprint, duck, swerve and pull off various other parkour-style moves with little effort. Not enough to dodge bullets but definitely enough to outmaneuver a punch as long they focus.
Enhanced Durability- Although not indestructible, the Siren is durable enough to shrug off most forms of small-caliber gunfire and withstand intense blunt force trauma, such as drops from the tops of buildings without a scratch and surviving being pounded into the ground enough to leave a crater with only minor injuries.
Regeneration- The Siren has fairly potent self-healing capabilities that allow it to slowly recover from almost any form of injury, be it simply bruises or sprained limbs, up to more severe injuries like stab wounds or having to reattach a severed limb.
Metamorphosis- As if the Siren's bag of tricks wasn't big enough already, they also have the ability to alter the shape of their body into a variety of other appearances that are limited mainly by the imagination. They can also form parts of their body into weapons like blades, maces, whips, and so on.
Fusion-Have the ability to combine with other members of their species to further augment their abilities.
Upgrade 1:
- Spoiler:
Character Advancement Name: Absorption
Basically, the evolved form of Fusion and gained from combining with the rest of their species. This gives them the power to absorb almost anything they desire, such as various forms of energy, metals, plant material, and in some cases living organisms and then use that to augment their own selves, which is usually done through simple contact and intense focus.
This means they can absorb an electric attack and gain temporary electrokinesis which can be applied to their weapons, or absorb fire and then use it as a type of pyrokinesis. Assimilating metals can give them a more durable exterior that augments physical attacks and durability. Also, absorbing living organisms gives them the target's skills, traits and knowledge.
Item/Character Advancement Price: 5 XP

The Weaknesses
-Overuse of psychic abilities can be detrimental to Siren's condition, ranging from simple fatigue and headaches up to more serious problems like bloody noses, pains in the chest and difficulty breathing.-Another weakness is that enemies that are cybernetic, or even full-on robotic in nature, in fact, most otherworldly creatures such as energy beings, seem to have an inherent immunity or high resistance to their psychic abilities.
-Their ability to influence feelings works both ways, so it is possible for them to end up experiencing any mental pain or anxieties their target is undergoing, thus further throwing off their ability to concentrate and form plans of attack.
-The Siren, being of an cosmic origin, has not had much time to adapt to the idea of magic and is thus more vulnerable to it than other forms of attack. Even healing magic can cause them pain.
-Siren's reaction skills are sub-par, at best, and thus it is possible to catch them off guard, especially if they are focusing on something else.
-Siren maybe durable, but that durability seems to stretch to mainly blunt force trauma, meaning it is still possible to injure her normally using things like bladed weapons, fire, electricity, and other such indirect means.
-Although Siren has power over sound, she cannot use her sonic scream for long periods not only because of how draining it is but because of how sensitive their ears are to the noise, especially if they are in an area with a lot of noise pollution like a major metropolis.
-Siren's accelerated healing requires them to be outside of combat for it to take affect.
-The faster Siren flies, the more likely they are to experience turbulence and motion sickness over time, which usually occurs somewhere around 300 mph.
-The weapons Siren forges are powerful but are only as durable as their real-world counterparts, meaning once one of them breaks, it is unusable until Siren can regenerate it.
-Although their changes can be quite convincing, maintaining a full-body change can be exhausting in the long run and a couple of solid blows is enough to knock them back into their normal state and expose them.
-The two sometimes have conflicting opinions on what the best course of action is, which can lead to them dropping their guard or being overwhelmed by their opponent.
- Spoiler:
Although powerful and flexible, Absorption does have a number of weaknesses. For one thing, they cannot absorb PC's that are alive and even when dead requires special permission (from the owners) to do so.
Also, the absorbed powers, regardless of where they come from, are NOT permanent, and will gradually fade over time. Said powers also do not transfer from one thread to another. Also, each power comes with two additional weaknesses such as being dowsed in water makes it nearly impossible to use pyrokinesis, becoming metal limits mobility so an inability to fly, etc.
They can also only retain one copied power at a time and acquiring a new one "overwrites" the current ability.
On top of that, they are NOT immune or anymore resistant to the enemy's powers and can still be harmed like normal.
Finally, they have a minor allergy of sorts when exposed to extremely cold temperatures which causes them to break out into itchy hives.
The Items
The Minions
The Fluff
-Alan and Aurora spend most of their time as The Siren for convenience sake, though they will sometimes separate so the former can have a bit of time with his/her own thoughts.
-They also have a strong love of sweets and can sometimes be found delivering them to local shelters and what not.
The RP Sample
- Spoiler:
Lunch time had always been one of Alan's favorite moments during the day. A chance to sit back, have a bit to eat, let your mind wander and, as a bonus, take in the scenery. Even after all that had happened to him, meeting Aurora, being abducted by space pirates, nearly dying and having his brain moved over into an alien body, and so on, this was one thing that hadn't changed.
Alan sighed as he sat on the roof of a cruise ship, which was in the middle of leaving a harbour. He glanced down at his reflection in the water, the face staring back reminding him that the current body he occupied...wasn't really his own, but a clone of his friend's. The only major differences being a tint of dark blue in the air and the ear piece being on the opposite side of the head.
He knew he should've been upset, even angry at having his human life being taken away from him. Instead however, he had more or less accepted it. Sure, it wasn't all fun and games but being a hero was something he had grown up, wanting to be. The kind of person who would never abandon those in need...like his father had.
"Alaaaaannnnn!!!" The person in question looked up in time to be tackle-hugged by his partner, Aurora. Both sirens tumbled over, laughing together, "Sorry to keep you waiting! You're not mad, are you?"
"How can I ever be mad at you, partner?" Alan chuckled as he patted Aurora's head with a smile before scooting over so she could sit with him. He opened up a fast-food bag next to him and levitated out a fish burger for his friend whom took it while thanking him before tearing into it, "So, how did it go?"
Aurora swallowed before using her telekinesis on a napkin to wipe her face, "Let's just say that those womanizing pricks who put graffiti on that poor lady's car won't be going anywhere anytime soon..." To highlight her point, she made several gestures to showcase she had dumped paint on them then strung them up on a light pole by their underwear.
"Up high, partner," Alan high-fived her as they both sat together on the ship, eating their food and just admiring the view together. "It's moments like these that remind me just how beautiful a place the Earth can be."
"Same here," The former human nodded as he swallowed a slurp from his milkshake, "...You know, this kinda reminds me of something my Mom and I did when I was a kid," Aurora, still munching her burger, looked over to listen, "On days she wasn't working, and I didn't have school, we'd pack a lunch and go up in the hills, maybe sometimes to the park, and we'd just sit, talk, laugh, take in the scenery and the sounds...I always enjoyed those times."
"Certainly sounds like those were good times..." The siren smiled though it looked slightly forced as her eyes wandered up to the sky and a somewhat wishful look in her eyes could be seen.
This didn't go unnoticed by Alan, "You'll see them again..." He patted her on the shoulder, "I promise."
She looked over to him and nodded in gratitude, "Thanks, Alan," She finished her burger and got started on her drink, "...If I were to somehow find a way back to my clan...I'd be honored to have you come with me." At seeing the slightly surprised look on his face, she shook her head, "I'm not asking for an answer anytime soon. I just felt you should know...there's so many beautiful places to show you out there, and so much we could teach you...just think on it, is all I'm asking."
"Aurora..." Alan began as he downed the rest of his shake, "...Yeah, I'll think about it."
"That's all I can ask," His friend smiled before standing up and offering a hand, "What you say we go get an up close look at those pretty stars up there?"
"Thought you'd never ask," Alan smiled in turn before the two proceeded to waltz together, and in the midst of their dance, the two became glowing bodies of energy that fused together into their hero identity, The Siren. With a running start, the figure leaped up and flew off towards the evening sky...

- Aurora:
Name - Aurora
Age - Unknown
Species - Nerille, otherwise known as "Space Sirens".
Alignment- Chaotic Good
Gender - Aurora typically refers to themselves as Female.
Appearance - [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Personality - Fun-loving, joyful, and always eager for adventure are adequate terms to use for Aurora. The somewhat feisty Space Siren seems to enjoy living unbound and unshackled, free to go where she pleases and do as she desires and in some ways, has an even more lax form of discipline than Alan. All that said, she is much more intelligent than she lets on, being able to decipher a person's real personality without much effort, and seems to be a bit of a whiz at video games.
Also, she greatly values her friends and will gladly put her life on the line for them. However, she is not above speaking her mind when she feels someone is going too far and behaving selfishly.
History - Aurora grew up among her fellow Space Sirens. Learning their ways and customs but more often than not went off by herself to explore and learn. She loved to use her abilities to sneak around and pull off small pranks and snatch bits of food when people weren't looking. Her life was a good one...but it didn't last.
One time, a space pirate's frigate came upon her clan and she stayed behind to buy the others time to escape, only to end up being captured as a result. Upon realizing what her captors planned to do with her, she panicked and used her powers to escape, fleeing in an escape pod to the world where Alan was.
Although initially distrustful of him, he eventually won her trust and she informed him of the situation, and ended up both shocked yet grateful at his willingness to keep her safe even if it put himself at risk, which is perhaps part of the reason she turned herself over willingly when the pirates returned for her.
When Alan once more put himself in harm's way for her she again tapped into the more dangerous side of her people's abilities and trapped most of the pirates' minds in eternal nightmares. Feeling guilt over her part in causing Alan harm, she transferred his brain into her cloned self thus saving him.
From then on, she's remained by his/her side though a part of her does long to one day meet back up with her clan...
Space Siren:
A race of humanoid creatures with an almost androgynous appearance. Not too much is known about them, but what is known is that they are a bit of a reclusive race, preferring to avoid conflict, travel the stars and catalogue what they discover and in the process have gained a great deal of knowledge about the workings of the universe which they have channeled into various forms of art and music. They are also said to be rather friendly, even willing to use their voices as guides to those lost during a voyage...as long you yourself mean them no harm.
They also have potent psychic and physical abilities thanks to control over their mind and body, being able to move and lift objects with their minds, project thoughts and feelings, control the pitch of their voice to be able to shatter even concrete, and a number of other abilities that makes them dangerous to any they deem a threat. They also seem to have the ability to combine with other members of their species to form a more powerful self.
Of course, the sad truth is that even one Siren would fetch a high price on the black market...giving most of them even more reason to stay clear of the public eye...
