Looking for interesting characters and talented writers

Well as the title suggests I'm looking for people with more experience in the RP world. Let's discuss making a role play and each others characters. I'd prefer more sci fi characters but I'm really open to anyone, just as long as you dont stretch the fantasy aspect. So I'll post my Character up (only one at the moment) and let's bounce around a few ideas.

Well, talented writers and those with roleplay experience are two different categories. I can claim to be an amazing roleplayer but if my writing ability is sub par then my ideas will suffer and be rendered useless. As for characters, I would personally like to see one that has few solutions and more weaknesses. The harder the adversity the more a character will struggle and thus a more entertaining story. Setting and personal details are all secondary really.

Fascinating points and of course we can discuss them at some point. However I take it you get the point of what I'm trying to do here, so if you'd like to discuss ideas about a role play then I'm all ears but if you want to talk about the merits of writers vs role players then... might have to wait till I make another topic.

If you wanna discuss roleplay ideas then I suggest a murder mystery or a drama.
Conflict roleplays as common as dirt on these forums, every other roleplay is merely some characters flexing their muscles and going home. What I think needs to come around is more thought provoking plots where a single punch isn't thrown but the deep story of a character is monopolized. Imagine two hero's or a hero and villain that meet and don't actually start trying to kill each other but instead have to use their minds and personality to discovered why a space station is haunted or how they can co-exist. I'm not saying you have to end their rivalry/friendship or resolve their plot but simply adding a deeper connection between two characters will give a better ending than "we shall meet again!".

Well although I agree combat is very common I'm not one for murder mystery or drama in and of itself (spent a lot of my youth watching Crime dramas and murder mystery shows with parents). I think there's a balance to be struck depending on the nature of ones character. I watch a lot of Doctor who and suffice to say there is a complicated fascinating hero that almost never resorts to combat so I get it. I've seen a few shows and read a few books with Heroes or rather protagonists who avoid combat. I like to see characters bring out that human element of rational thinking and conversation.

At the same time it can become the most mind numbing boring aspect of a character. dragging out a scene with a conversation virtually going nowhere for the purpose of trying to be subtle an intelligent can go as wrong as a poorly thought out and executed fight. What is happening in a scene is not nearly as important as the people behind the character. When I put my character Cebra in a fight I try and make sure it's not so neat and clean. I want to show the stress, pain and brutality having powers would introduce to a fight. The psychological effect after a battle of having your body go through all the strain, remembering the horrible things you've done in a fight and that were done to you.

Well, I got quite a bit of experience at RP, and I think I'm a good writer. I use proper capitals and punctuation anyway. So hello!

Would be interested in doing something, and I would say Sewer is toward a science fiction end of the scale. Scientist horribly changed by his own research, now a big furry reptile scraping by and hiding from people, trying to find enough food to keep himself sane. Waiting for character approval right now.

Yeah I guess I should have worded this differently but essentially just looking for anyone who has the capability of immersing other players in the RP with their devotion to a sense of real human experience and emotion. I'm not very exclusive though, I just dont do a lot of light heart stuff

Many a kid from a bad family treats him horribly and so he would train in ninjitsu and would kill them and blame it on others and hide objects that would lead away from him doing the murder and he doesn't know that he is not going to be successful in getting away with it because of little details leading back to him and maby I could be the detective and whoever wants a part we can assign one to them
