Personality: He's a quiet individual but believes he has a strong sense of right and wrong. His overconfidence in his abilities to absorb damage sometimes incapacitates him in battles. He is still trying to adapt to his abilities, and learn that retreat is as valuable of a tactic than standing ones ground in some scenarios. A very gentle being for having a powerful physique.

History: Alan Lombardi was born of humble origins, as most heroes. He had a unique mutant power he was born with, but it required a lot of concentration and he had never discovered it, until a lot later on in his life.

He signed up to the U.S. Navy straight out of high school, and was sent on numerous missions, though most weren't very hostile. A lot of them, however, were missions combating aggressive non-humans or mutants who were using their great power for villainous reasons. Alan and his crew were sent on a mission to escort a cargo freighter carrying Sulfuric Acid. It was intended to be sent to a biological warfare research center.

The route to their mission seemed to be a success until about halfway point, where they were intercepted by a powerful Villan named "Hurricane". He apparently was informed of the shipment, since the weaponry would probably be used against him, he decided to stall the military's efforts. Hurricane began his attack on the ship by increasing the winds to high velocities, which started to create a whirlpool in the ocean, threatening to sink the carrier and battleship.

The ships tried to evade, and the battleship fired at Hurricane, but they were trapped, and the motion of the whirlpool made any accuracy at shooting Hurricane impossible. The two ships sunk further into the whirlpool until they scraped against each other with a collision, causing them both to ignite on fire.

Alan gathered among his crew on the deck, where they faced either a fiery death on a burning ship, or to jump overboard and probably drown to their deaths in the enormous whirlpool that would suck them underneath the surface. One brave sailor dove off the ship into oblivion, and Alan followed, jumping into a free fall.

Alan landed in the bottom of the whirlpool with a splash and was immediately sucked down underneath the water, unable to swim to the surface, his crew among with him. From under the sea, he saw an explosion above. The carrier that had the Sulfuric Acid dumped all its cargo into the whirlpool, and the acid corroded the flesh off all his crew instantly.

In a panic, Alan's mutant power kicked in, which was the ability to absorb the chemical composition of an element. The Sulfuric Acid entered into his blood stream and he felt like his skin was on fire. His veins started to bulge from his body denying the substance, yet his mutant abilities were accepting it. The mutant ability had won the battle, and he had taken the physical attributes of Sulfur.

His body washed up ashore, but when he looked at his reflection in the water. His skin had become blackened like a bad venom bite, and he had lost all his hair. But the most noticeable of all, was the contrast of his saturated yellow eyes, that seemed to glow in contrast with his dark skin. His mutant ability.... had become permanent.

Powers:

Because Sul-Fury had taken the chemical composition of Sulfur, his skin is hard as rock. It can stop bullets and knives, a lot of physical damage blows. Sulfur is combustible, flammable, and he is impregnable to fire damage. In fact, he would be a great accomplice with a Fire-starter Hero or Villan. Launching a fire attack at him would set his whole body completely in flames, and make his attacks that much more dangerous.

Though his skin is hard and can absorb external damage easily, he is more susceptible to internal damage, such as Electricity or Plasma damage. Though the strength of the internal attack would still have to be substantial to make an effect.

Description: Sul-Fury has the ability to self-combust into flames creating a large explosion. The effect is very temporary and leaves Sul-Fury in a weakened state. He can't move until the explosion is over, and he remains at 4 Strength and 4 Speed until he is either out of combat or incapacitated. The ability can only be used once per topic.

No, no. They make you a powergrid, though they're being more lenient, and letting you make it yourself.

Well, I just posted the stats in written form. Doesn't matter really.

Hmm.. Starting to have concerns about my character. A lot of the Villans and Heroes I see here look a lot more... tough... than I am. Having either limited weaknesses or powerful attacks. When I saw "No more Symbiotes, Angels, or Demons" I thought maybe there was one or two, and a few tried to copy, so the mods said no. Come up with your own idea....

But there is a crapload of them here. Some characters have Nuclear bomb abilities? I don't think my character would survive against one of those. And I didn't actually think I'd have to fight Angels and Demons but it appears that I'll probably have no choice since there is so many of them.

And to go further, a lot of characters have limited weaknesses. Like I saw one that his weakness was Fire. Great! One Villain I could actually fight, maybe. But my character couldn't create fire, how would he know that his weakness is fire? It would have to be spontaneous combustion from getting my arse kicked with a giant plant. In roleplaying terms, I don't think my character is very viable in this universe.

I realize, my character isn't supposed to be the strongest. And I kind of created him that way. Heck, he's supposed to be a "Tank", but I said even bullets can hurt him after a while. Anything will wear him down after a while, and he's even weaker to some forms of attacks like Plasma/Energy/Electricity. The only ones he's really actually capable of resisting are physical damage.

In comparison to a lot of characters here, I think he'll just be a meatshield for someone else, and won't last a hot second against a demon. I don't think I'll be able to do anything in actual combat... I'm envisioning a flying Demon hovering out of my reach blasting my Hero with Shadow clouds or whatever the damage comes from in the Underworld, and I'll just have to sit there or look for something to throw at him or her.

Lol yeah I checked out yours, since you seem to have replied like 6 times before an admin has, granted, I've only been waiting a day or so. I'll probably have to eventually get some sort of 'gadget' or something later on down the road from the "Quest" area? That can set me on fire whenever I want to, instead of looking for something to set me on fire. **Rubs flint rocks together.**Spark** "AHA!" >.>

I was going to have my character control fire and start it too, but I thought it too powerful and decided not to. The ability to be invincible to fire and remain in flames during a fight was enough, IMO. I could picture myself shouting to a fire-starter Hero to Ignite me before I fight, and that would be nifty.
