Personality:
Growing up in a patriarchal family is difficult if you're a woman. Even more so if you have powers. Ever a child of circumstance, Jade has developed a headstrong personality and will confront whatever is bothering her. This has been the source of several arguments between her and her parents and the ultimate cause for her running away from home. Despite her awful home life however, she has her own sets of morals that she tries to adhere to. She tries to be the better person/best person that she could be in any situation. Though she is aware that she is only human and may stray from her path.

History:

Jade doesn't like to speak much about her family. Her parents are unemployed and her ten siblings don't speak to each other much. Her six sisters either married young to hide the shame of an early pregnancy or to escape from the patriarchal clutches of their parents. Of her four brothers, two were in prison for committing a hate crime, one is working on getting there, and her youngest brother is quickly on the road no where. Thus she took the most logical path and ran away from home.

She had always known that she was different from the rest of her family for she started to notice things that no one else noticed. The window would shake a little as she walked by and computers would occasionally break when she passed by. At the age of thirteen Jade caused a window to shatter without ever touching it and realized that she may be one of the powered people who always showed up on tv. Ever since then she has worked on developing her powers. Her home life did not make this easy however, as her short tempered mother and unfaithful father made every day a stressful one.

After seeing the indifference, bordering on acceptance, of her eldest brother's hate crimes, Jade finally decided that she would be better off on her own. She packed what little she had and was off on her own at the age of sixteen. Life on the streets was difficult but Jade's developing powers helped her stay out of trouble by allowing her to steal cash from ATMs or fight off would be muggers.

Through all of this, Jade tries to fight crime where ever the opportunity presents itself. For she has vowed to balance out her misdeeds (stealing) and to never be the person that her family tried to make her become.

The Powers and Weaknesses

Powers

Silicone Psychokinesis: Jade can acutely manipulate silicon to the point of being able to lift glass shards with her mind and use them to help her fly off of the ground. She can also manipulate any item that has silicon within, such as various crystals and stones. However the lower the amount of the element in an item the less control she'll have over said item. Her ability ranges from things to stopping clocks to creating walls of glass.

Jade has micro control of silicon within a 100 feet radius. Examples of micro control involve: crafting objects out of silicon, objects respond quicker in her radius (make sharper turns etc.),

Macro control in a 300 ft radius. Examples of this includes: Shattering glass, causing silicon chips to go haywire, general uncontrolled destruction of a piece of silicon.

Silicon Detection: Jade is faintly aware of everything with silicon around her. However her power subconsciously ignores this sense unless she focuses on trying to detect a specific item. Even then there is just so much silicon in the world that this ability is not useful in trying to locate an item. Instead it is utilized for searching for sources of silicon for which Jade can use her power. Radius of 2 miles.

Weakness(es)

Hear me sing:
When a specific frequency is played at a specific pitch the glass that Shard primarily uses will shatter and become unresponsive to her psychokinetic commands.

Fleshy meaty things:
Shard's powers will not work on living things. Thus she cannot manipulate the silicone in a living organism's bone or body nor can she form silicon blocks in another person's body.

I break when I fall down:
Jade is only human and as such is very prone to being hurt by hurtful things (emotionally and physically).

My brains!:
As her powers are primarily telekinetic, anything that interrupts her normal brain functions will stop her powers from working.

Everything checks out, tho' I want you to spend 1 Ability on the Crystalline Sensory. It's like a sixth sense that not all people have. And, for her suit, you should either create an item application, or etc.

Unless, the suit helps full in her grid.

That's fine. With the Crystalline Sensory at 2 Ability, I'd be fine with the range of the minerals being found a lot farther than just immediate area. (:
