The cozy interior of the bookshop was welcoming as always as Sig made his way down stairs into it, one of the young carpenters he had working for him next door had come in and set up for the day as a favor to him as he had been up late the night before working on a damascus steel knife that had silver and gold woven into the layers of the blade, it was a rare collectors piece he was doing on commission, mainly because it was challenging.

As he put the rare books into the locked cabinets he idly sent the young carpenter through next door. "I'll be in later, you've progressed well, next week, we make your journeyman piece." He said, with a smile, he always liked it when his apprentices performed so well. He slipped the last book into the case and locked it, taking off the velvet gloves he used for handling them - with some you had to be very careful due to their age. One he had done he turned on the hot water tank he used to the little cafe side of things and set about making a cup of tea, looking up as the old fashioned hanging door bell - a journeyman piece of one of his old smithing apprentices some years ago, a delicate and lovely piece in silver - rang out with a crisp note, wondering who would be in the shop so early.
