The Day a Star Fell from the Sky.. Empty The Day a Star Fell from the Sky..

Post by Stargirl December 7th 2015, 3:03 pm

Somewhere in Nevada…

It was a calm and cool night in the middle of the Mojave Desert, in an area devoid of civilization or cities.  It was all quiet aside from the blowing of the wind and the dust being flown because of it.  A few cacti bended and moved in the cool night breeze, and all seemed peaceful.  There being no signs of artificial light in all directions allowed the brightly lit starry sky to be perfectly clear.  Billions of stars twinkled and the milky way shone brighter than the moon.  All was quiet and peaceful in the desert.

That is, until one of the stars in the sky began to get closer to the planet than what’s comfortable.  The silence broke with the booming sound of a fireball shooting down from the sky at great speeds.  A long tail of smoke following the plummeting ball of flames as it quickly streaks across the sky, illuminating the darkness as it goes.

Then came a massive banging sound, like that of a grand explosion, as the fireball struck the Earth, shaking the planet for thousands of miles in every directions, throwing up dust and dabris into the atmosphere to create a cloud of pulverized rock that would cover the sky for a good few weeks before settling.

What remained of the explosion was a massive, fiery crater in the Earth, completely shrouded by the massive clouds of dust that lingered in the air.  Whatever happened, whatever struck the planet, was no small event.  Surely the people of Earth would remember this day as something of a Historical day.

The Day a Star Fell from the Sky.. Empty Re: The Day a Star Fell from the Sky..

Post by Chase Blackburn December 7th 2015, 3:35 pm

Gulp, gulp, gulp. "Hey, give me another shot, will ya?" Chase asks the bartender, waving a small glass in his hand. He was in a bar that sold to teenagers. He went with a couple of his friends, but they left a long time ago.

"No. You've had too much, I'm cutting you off. Just be happy I even let you in here." The bartender responded, preparing someone else a drink.

I'll show you who to cut off, Chase things to himself, getting ready to transform when he heard the TV beep loudly.

Important News! the TV said with a woman on the camera. "An unidentified object just landed in the Mojave Desert. The impact caused severe amounts of damage, and we urge that anyone nearby evacuates the vicinity immediately..." There was more, but Chase stopped listening. He stumbled out of the building and, when he thought nobody was paying attention, he turned into sound, experiencing that sudden weightlessness he could never quite get used to. He ran in this form in the direction he thought was the way to the Mojave Desert, but once his buzz disappeared due to time slowing down for him in this state, he looked around and realized that a large cloud of dust have formed in the opposite direction that he was running.

After backtracking and arriving at the site, he ran through the dust that had begun to settle. He ran into a large crater and saw something that looked vaguely human in it. Running down the crater as sound and turning back into matter when he was close to the object in the middle, he realized it was a person.

"Hey, are you alright?"

The Day a Star Fell from the Sky.. Empty Re: The Day a Star Fell from the Sky..

The person Chase saw in the crater looked to me a young woman with long blonde hair and the body that looked like it should belong to a super model. More importantly, the girl was completely and utterly devoid of clothing, lying in the crater in her birthday suit. The woman slowly sat up and rubbed the back of her head with a groan, looking around herself with one eye open.

“Bukka durna…” She said in some outlandish language that doesn’t sound like it belongs to any civilization on the planet. The girl began to float upwards from the crater and looked down at the man who stared at her, tilting her head curiously. “Oooo..Nani kara?” She asked in an untranslated language again, probably unable to speak English at all.

On a side note, despite the massive impact that her body caused, there was absolutely no sign of damage on her body itself. She appeared to be completely unscathed by the damage all around her.

The Day a Star Fell from the Sky.. Empty Re: The Day a Star Fell from the Sky..

Post by Chase Blackburn December 7th 2015, 4:19 pm

Chase got closer to the girl. Once the dust settled a bit more and she sat up, he noticed she wasn't wearing anything. He averted his gaze and kept her in his peripheral vision. She started speaking in an odd, foreign tongue, unlike anything he had ever heard before. Along with her beginning to float, he returned his full gaze to her.

As she began to float up, Chase grabbed her arm and tried to hold her down but it didn't do anything. It was like she was too heavy for him to pull down. Her floating up in front of him, he got a closer look at her body and noticed there were no scratches, no wounds, not even a bruise. Maybe she's some sort of meta-human who just discovered her powers... Chase let go of her, realizing it was fruitless to try to get her back on the ground.

When she said something that sounded as if she were asking him something, he looked up to her in the eyes. "Um, sorry, but I don't understand what you're saying." Chase replied.

This could be bad. Here we have a powerful meta-human who I can't communicate with.
