Monster on the loose (Done)
Demetrius, wearing a full cloak around to avert immediate gaze, looks around while pushing through the thick crowd, sniffing at the intoxicating aroma of the mixed feeling radiating from the people around him. The smell of all that anger, sadness, greed, the aroma is just wonderful, disregarding the scent from the few that are actually happy. Wait for it. If you can scare the masses as a whole, it'll be more to eat, He thinks to himself in response to his ever growing hunger.
A woman bumps into him, saying "Sorr-", but cutting herself short that the sight of his face, just enough light to reveal a smile too large for any regular human and eyes glowing red. Just because I'm not eating a feast doesn't mean I can't have an appetizer, he thinks to himself as he observes the look of pure terror on her face. He leans in real close to her face, the fear coming off of her growing intensely, and then he "eats". Gray streams of light poor from her mouth, eyes and ears into his mouth in an action that looks as if he's inhaling. The woman's legs fumble until she collapses into his arms, and he quickly tosses her into an alley. The scent of fear arises from passerby's, but they've have yet to see anything.
A semi-truck passes by. The word Perfect rings through his head as he punches the truck passing by, the truck toppling over onto other cars, inevitably crushing them. The crowd around him runs mad in confusion and fear. "It's feeding time!" Demetrius yells as he begins to eat, inhaling rapidly as gray light streams from dozens upon dozens of people around him. After 30 seconds, mostly everyone has collapsed, and the ones that haven't are barely standing. Full, Demetrius deals with the backlash from eating all the fear. He doubles over, the fear of everyone combined weighing on him. Overcome it! Turn this fear into rage! Images of the most enraging memories from his past flashes in his mind, even though he doesn't fully understand where they're coming from. "RAAAAAGGGGHHHH!" he yells, shaking the air around him. He punches the ground with all his might and the sidewalk and the street crack all around him. He aimlessly roams around the streets of New York, disregarding the bodies he's stepping over as he sniffs around for anymore fear from the people beneath him, gray streams of light dashing towards his mouth occasionally.

Re: Monster on the loose (Done)
A small shape was flying high above it all. An almost invisible tennisball-sized globe fitted with numerous sensors. It had flown lazily over the city streets until it had caught a glimpse of some fellow turning over a truck as if it was nothing, before proceeding to suck some sort of energy from their eyes, mouth, nostrils, ears, all of the face-holes, really. Being a machine, the little globe could not personally care about any of the horrific events unfolding below it, but the person who watched through it rejoiced. This was exactly the sort of thing he had been waiting for!
----nearby, on a rooftop------
Caleb rejoieced! This was exactly the sort of thing he had been waiting for! the screen on his forearm computer showed just the sort of mayhem he had expected to witness after deciding to patroll new york for a few days. After all, the city had seen its fair share of superhuman-related catastrophies. Like that time, that robot-skeleton called Doctor Necrodium had decided to invade with his army of superpowered monsters. Or that kerfuffle in central park between some sort of tech-savvy evildoer, two witches a hero called forcewave and some huge, primitive ape-beast. With a few keystrokes cable sent more of his drones to the area, they had instructions to keep away from the monster, but to assist him should he require it.
He activated his anti-grav-engine as well as the small jets that allowed him to steer. From what he had seen the perpetrator was human, or at least humanoid, a bit bigger than average and buff as hell. He had some degree of superhuman strength, and with that there usually came a side-order of durability. Plus whatever ability that allowed it to suck that weird grayish light out of people. Maybe it was some sort of moisture, or maybe it was something else entirely. The point was, that getting close enough to it to let it do that was a bad idea.
But getting close to it was the last thing he wanted to do. He was going to play keep-away pelting the perp from afar until it gave up, badabing-badaboom, job done. . . . He hoped. Underneath his melmet cable grinned an unsightly grin. No matter what happened this would most definately be fun! he could already feel his heart racing in anticipation, and the adrenaline had put all his senses on edge, even though eh had not even seen it yet. As he flew he relayed all of the bots visual stream to his helmet, allowing him to get a good view of the situation from all angles.
As Caleb arrives at the scene he stops above it floating in the air. Apparantly he arrived just in time to see the monster slam the ground, causing the surrounding infrastructure to crack in a menacing fashion. Maybe he had been better off looking for something a little less. . . well, dangerous. The perpetrator looks a whole lot more dangerous in person than he did on Calebs screen. However, as Caesar once said: "the die has been cast". This was his first appearance on the superhero-scene, and he would be damned if it was to be an instant retreat. After all, flying above the scene probably makes him alot safer than if he was down there.
He quickly takes aim at the oversized perp and fires a concussive energy-blast at his knee from his wrist-shooter. He has no idea how tough this fellow is, and he doesn't want to kill him if he doesn't have to, especially since his energy-blasts are easily capable of punching a hole through the chest of a fully armoured swat-member at this setting. Even if the man lacks superhuman durability he should be alive, minus one leg. well, provided he doesnt bleed out or something. But that was not Caleb's problem

Re: Monster on the loose (Done)
Demetrius was suddenly snapped out of his satisfied state of mind as searing pain ran through his leg. He looks around, enraged that someone attacked him! Not that he didn't expect it, he just wasn't prepared like he thought he'd be. No one was standing up around him and no one looked like they had moved. In fact, he couldn't even smell any of the repulsive scents of bravery or something of the sorts. His head suddenly shoots up as he suspects that the reason for this pain is on the rooftop. He sees Caleb flying around off in the distance, and he assumes that it was him that did it. He yells at the top of his lungs as he sprints at high speeds toward the flying person, crushing countless amounts of people underneath his feet. When the distance feels right, he jumps up with great force, cracking the street underneath his feet as his feet leave the ground. He's now hurtling towards Caleb, sticking his hand out to grab him when he gets close enough.

Re: Monster on the loose (Done)
Caleb grinned smugly beneath his helmet as his blast connected. Even though it did not have the effect he had hoped for, it did have an effect. This turn of events meant that Caleb could hurt this fellow. Perhaps he could not do it with just one of his regular blasts, but he had plenty more where that came from. He couldn't help but to feel the urge to say something witty and scathing just to pour some metaphorical salt into the (hopefully) literall wound.
"Hey, asshat! How'd ya like that?!" he shouted, the voice-modulator in his helmet turning his rather wimpy-sounding voice and turning into something that could best be described by comparing it to Darth Vader's voice, only far more badass and intimidating. As he heard the voice, he considered changing the settings for the next time. His voice was unrecognizable which was the main point, sure, and there was no doubt that it was intimidating, but it might be a bit too over the top. After all, he wouldn't want to be remembered as a try-hard or anything.
all thoughts of his voice-modulator and it's various settings were banished as soon as he saw the perp run towards him, trampling people underfoot, as if they were nothing but blades of grass under the feet of a stampeding buffalo-herd. He was beginning to feel rather nervous now, but quickly fortified his wavering resolve to fight this creature. He could fly, and the monster seemingly could not, and that was a major point to his advantage, he definitely had aerial superiority, and even though the monster had him outpowered three ways from Sunday, he had it outgunned. After all, he had filled his suit of armor with more gizmos than a whole box of Swiss army knives.
The monster leaped into the air a lot quicker than he had anticipated, and now that he saw it a little better, he realized that there was no better word for this thing than "monster". It was wearing tattered clothes and a hood wich concealed most of its features, but the little he could see were truly terrifying a lipless mouth with exposed teeth, forever locked in a rictus-grin as well as a pair of oversized eyes that glowed like the eyes of a jack-o-lantern at night. Caleb could feel his heart missing a beat as he looked into the eyes of the beast.
However, despite being temporarily distracted for a few mikro-seconds Caleb quickly recovered and spun around in the air, causing the monster to narrowly miss its attempt at grappling him. When he was safe, he quickly raised his right arm again, and rapidly fired off another barrage of energy-beams after the creature, as well as shooting a pellet ull of sticky-foam at it.
He was rather pleased to see the pellet grow into a roughly three cubic-feet blob of sticky goo as it flew towards the monster. at first it was just like sticky rubber, but within seconds it would harden to something aproximately as hard as concrete. Hopefully it would be enough to keep the monster down but caleb had his doubt. He flied a bit higher, making sure to keep his distance from buildings in case the monster would try to bounce off them to get to him.

Re: Monster on the loose (Done)
Demetrius landed on a car and it was instantly smashed beyond repair. He had just begun to turn around and step out of the heap of metal he was standing in a multitude of energy beams hit him. He turned his gaze towards Caleb with fury and saw a rubbery substance flying at him. He stuck his left arm to catch it and throw it back at him, but instead it enveloped his arm and a large part of his torso in the goo, almost instantaneously turning into a concrete-like substance.
Just when Demetrius was about to flex his arm and snap the concrete in half, his mind cleared a little as his hunger began to increase, but only ever-so-slightly. Throw pieces of it at him. He grabbed the substance on his left hand with his right hand, cracking the substance into medium-sized rocks. He quickly finished doing this for the rest of the stone on him. Once again, he turned his attention to the flying pest and started to throw a barrage of stones at him, approximately 5 per second, all spread out in case he attempted to dodge them like he had dodged Demetrius.

Re: Monster on the loose (Done)
"Gotcha!" Caleb cheered as the monster got hit by the barrage as well as the sticky-foam. Hopefully that would hold him down for long enough for the police to arrive and take this thing over, and then he would have won, the city would be saved, bob would be your uncle and all that. But he had his doubts about it, considering that even though it was very useful in trying to hold down regular people, the sticky-foam had not actually been tested against superpowered humans although to call the thing he was fighting "human" was probably not appropriate. Considering what that fellow did to that van earlier Caleb had severe doubts about whether his awesome invention could endure the might of the villain-of-the-week down there
And he was right to have doubts, as the monster tore free of the capture-foam pretty much instantaneously. Caleb was not all that surprised by this turn of events. After all, it had been a gamble trying to pin him down with the sticky-foam from the beginning. Ah, well, you live and learn and all that. At least the Laser-barrage had hit its mark. with any luck he could stay up here and take pot-shots at the monster until it fell over. He was not too keen on using the "death by a thousand cuts"-method but he had to admit that it was the safest option open to him at the present time. He had been right in that the monster could do little against him whilst he was flying around in the air. No matter how tough the monster was he had the advantage in the air. The monster might be able to leap twenty stories, but he would see him coming and move out of his reach if he tried that again.
However, the monster seemed to have learned from its earlier mistake and instead of leaping at him, it started throwing pieces of his own hardened sticky-foam at him quickly and seemingly randomly to increase the unlikelihood of Caleb dodging. Fortunately, Cable was good at this sort of thing. His absolute motor-control as well as his laser would be instrumental here. Our hero dodged and weaved between the projectiles, occasionally blasting one of them to pieces with his gun, however, just as he was starting to get arrogant about his success in trouncing the monster, he felt a sharp, hot pain just a few inches above his right eye as one of the projectiles hit him. Fortunately his helmet took the brunt of the blast, was dented in the process, Caleb started spinning out of control, yelping out of panic as he did, but the panic only lasted for only a second before finding his balance. His head hurt, and he was pretty sure he was bleeding a bit, but he did not feel woozy or anything of the sort, so he was probably not seriously injured
Caleb glared down at the monster, feeling furious at it for hitting him like that. He opened his wrist-computer and quickly typed a line of code before once again closing the lid. he had just taken precautions from that happening to him again
"You were lucky, and I was careless, freakface. That cheap trick will never work on me again." he announced boldly, his cracked teenage-voice transformed into the over-the-top awesomely Darth Vader-esque voice that he knew and loved. Only hearing his own voice like that was enough to strengthen his resolve and bolster his courage, but his conviction was strengthened further by the fact that he had decided to play his first ace from his sleeve. . . .

Re: Monster on the loose (Done)
Demetrius watched the flying man moments after he let go of the final piece of the hard substance. He was getting continuously frustrated by the fact that he seemed to be dodging every single one of the projectiles. Just when he thought his efforts were for nothing, he saw one hit the flying man in the head. His already large grin grew impossibly wider as he rejoiced with joy stemming from pure sadism.
Seeing as the flying man was starting to fly out of control, Demetrius turns around in search for some new people to feed off of. His hunger had begun to grow again, and that brief moment of clarity disappeared as his more primal instincts began telling him to begin to search for food. With his back turned to the flying man, he begin to walk away from him when he hears him yell at him. While he couldn't understand what he was saying, he could definitely hear anger in his voice. Demetrius' attention is turned back to the flying man as he spins around towards him, staring him down from afar.

Re: Monster on the loose (Done)
Caleb felt the righteous fury within him spurring him into action, but he would not act recklessly, he was far more fragile than his opponent, and despite his armour, his monstrous opponent could probably tear him limb from limb with the same minimal effort that a regular man spends opening an envelope. Even more upsetting was the fact that instead of bills or a Christmas-card from aunt helga, there would be blood and guts pouring out of him once he was disemboweled. No, he would not let his temper get the better of him.
“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.” he muttered to himself. It may be ridiculous, but the quote from Dune did actually managed to calm him down, even though it specifically dealt with fear rather than with anger. Well, that's dune for you, cures what ail's ya!
He looke down at the monster and despite the distance their Gazes locked, and he was taken aback by how empty the monsters wicked grin was. There was no joy in it, barely even any blood-lust, it simply looked animalistic, although he was fairly certain that there where metaphorical cogs spinning inside that deformed head of his, no doubt planning his next move in a malicious manner. However, whatever it was that the monster was thinking about he would not let it finish the thoughts. He had prepared a battle-plan already. It was a simple three-step proceedure, not many moving parts, meaning that if one part of the plan failed the others could be attempted regardless. Hopefully this would work.
The first step was the easiest He pressed a button on his right gauntlet and a "thunk" could be heard from his shoulder as a small ball popped out and sped through the air, landed on the ground in front of the monster and exploeded into bright light. It was not designed to harm, but to temporarily blind, step two was easier. Turning a small dial on his gauntlet overclocked his laser-glove, giving it enough power to punch through an armoured bunker without any trouble. It would do hell on his power-supply, but he could not afford to be frugal. After firing his shot, he sped up towards greater heights to get a birds-eye view of the situation.
(one "power-point" wasted)

Re: Monster on the loose (Done)
For what seemed like several minutes but in reality it was only a couple seconds, they stared at each other, their gazes meeting. The look on his face was precious, his anger building, and Demetrius knew that all he had to do was get close to him again to end this, even if he didn't get to grab him.
The thought of tearing into the flying man and ripping him to shreds flashed through Demetrius' mind, and for half a second, he showed sinister joy with the thought. Half a second after revealing a genuinely sadistic smile, a ball flew at him and in front of his feet, finally breaking the eye contact between the two as blinding light flashed through his eyes.
For a second, the light revealed a hideous sight. The light illuminated the several holes and tears in the cloak he was wearing, barely revealing gray flesh. Even worse, the light illuminated Demetrius' face, which showed a mouth that nearly went from ear to ear, all his deformed teeth shown when his mouth opened, yelling in rage, his eyes still irradiated orange throughout all of his eye, and his face looked sickly gray, though none of his other features seemed to suggest any normal illnesses.
Backing up with his hands over his eyes, his roar continues. After a moment of this, he stops yelling and removes his hands. Even though his eyesight is still obscured by the bright light that flashed through his eyes, he rips through his cloak, only leaving the hood over his head.
Just as he was barely able to make out the shape of a car in front of him, his chest is slammed by a the gauntlet the flying man was wearing, sending him flying as he grasps at the object. It hit with such force that it actually broke through the skin on his chest, stopping at his bones, leaving them visible to anyone who looks at him. He yanks the gauntlet out of his chest and screams in agonizing pain. With it out, the wound is already visibly healing.
Demetrius, with his vision nearly normal again, looks at the flying man again. This ends now! He sprints towards him, faster than before but taking more of a tole on him than earlier. He jumps, but not towards the flying man. Instead, he jumps on top of a building, followed by a mighty jump off the building now towards the man, most of the building collapsing underneath his feet. All he needs is to get close to him and he can end this, regaining the necessary strength he requires for himself and harming, if not, ending the fight between him and the flying man.

Re: Monster on the loose (Done)
Even though he was not the squeamish short, caleb could help but to vince as the monsters face was revealed in full by the light. all he had seen thus far had been the jack-o-lantern eyes and the rictus-grin of a mouth filled with exposed teeth and gums, but what he saw now was far worse than that. The light illuminated the creature in all of its horrible glory, and Caleb could not help but to feel somewhat sickened with what he saw. The creature had sickly, gray skin that looked almost dried up. It seemed to lack lips and cheeks and a nose entirely and even though it was obviously blinded, he could still see the eerie glow of it's orange lights. Some would say that the lack of features would give the monster a skull-like visage akin to that of a half-rotted corpse, but Caleb disagreed. To him, it looked almost insectoid. its big eyes and broad mouth made it feel as though he was looking int othe face of a humanoid, demonic praying mantis.
Caleb hovered in the air as the monster reeled from his attack. Unfortuantely he didn ot have all that many of those in him before this was all over. Hopefully this would be enough to slow the bastard down a bit. He held up unleashing the third and final step of his plan just to see how badly, if at all he was from the hit. He knew that now would be the ideal time to strike, but for the first time since he had engaged the monster in battle he hesitated. the little nagging voice in the back of his head told him to escape, to flee whilst he still lived. He was a skinny, geeky brat who had barely turned fifteen. He was not athletic, he had never been in a proper fight until a few weeks ago, and even then he had his friend therre to help him, and despit that advantage it had been far from a from a success-story. He was just a kid, and there would be no shame in running. Plenty of people had seen him take on the monsters, and he could hear the sirens in the distance. He could say that he did what he did to keep the creature from attacking more civilians, and they would most like believe him. . .
. . . But screw that! caleb grinned benath his helmet, and even though his face was completely concealed he radiated excitement and confidence. He wa s a flying gadgeteer in a bad-ass armour and he was taking on some sort of demonic super-villain and holding his own! He was awesome and everyone knew it! no doubt it was only a question of time before some enterprising chap would make an action-figure in his likeness! Down below the monster rampaged on, rushing forwards and leaping into the sky, the force of its ascent shattering the concrete beneath it. Caleb quickly calculated that it was not aiming for him, but for one of the buildings. Fortunately he had been aware of this risk since the last time the monster demonstrated his uncanny leaping capability and thus hovered away from the building in question. Rocks and gravel exploded from the building as the monster used it as a spring-board to leap towards him.
He easily sped far beyond the monsters grap and with a swift click on a button he sent out the order wich he had prepared after he had gotten dinged in the noggin with a part of his own hardened capture-foam.
The order to attack.
Suddenly his myriad of little robotic spies, that had previously kept their distance, observing the goings-on from a safe distance opened fire on the monster, each of them packing an energy-gun, similarly to that wich was built into his right gauntlet. Perhaps a single barrage was not enough to down the monster, but a multitude of them raining down from the sky might do the job. And just like their master the droids knew that the key to victory was keeping their distance, speeding around as far from the monster as they could muster whilst shooting blasts rapid-fire at him.

Re: Monster on the loose (Done)
The air was rushing through his face as he hurtled towards the flying man. Maybe if he had the power to push a little bit harder, he would've made it. Best case scenario, Demetrius reached the flying man, grabbed him by the neck, feeding off the mix of fear and anger he was feeling while dragging him down with him, smashing his head into the concrete when they reached the ground. At the very least, he was hoping that he would be a couple feet away from him, just close enough to where he could still feed, regain his strength and possibly try to attack again or flee.
Neither of those happened as he hurtled past him. For a brief moment, he sniffed the air. Anger laced with fear. The thought rung around in his mind, and his mouth had begun to water at the smell. The brief moment ended and he continued plummeting back down, his trajectory would have him collide with a building. As much as he should've been angry with himself, his hunger trumped his anger.
The hole in his chest barely finished healing before he smacked into a building, hitting the fourth story of the six story building, breaking the wall but not breaking into it. He fell down onto the street, a place barely away from the people who were in a comatose state because of his actions. The line where he fed on the people in his range and those who ran away in terror was obvious. He fell down and hit the sidewalk, the sidewalk cracking in the spot where it fell.
He stands up, obviously warn out. His hunger once again outweighing his anger towards the flying man, he begins to run down the streets of New York, hopefully finding some people or a crowd. Before he could get very far, he gets hit with a laser like earlier. It hurts like hell, barely leaving a mark on his skin that is soon to be healed, but he keeps running. Then, the blasts start to rain down upon him, too much for him to handle, the lasers too strong for his weakened state. He spins around to see the lasers coming from little drones, all of which are smaller than the palm of his hand. "I just want to eat..." Demetrius says weakly, falling to his knees, unable to bear the pain enough to stand any longer. A multitude of shots hit the front of his chest and his head, and he's knocked over, a mix of pain and hunger taking away his consciousness.

Re: Monster on the loose (Done)
After missing his attempt to attack him the monster falls down to the ground, creating a miniature crater for itself as it lands. It slowly gets up and starts running down the street. It had seemingly gotten enough of fighting for now, and instead trying to escape. Caleb immediately noticed the sluggishness with which the monster moved. It seemed alot less alert than it had done when he arrived. Perhaps his super-charged laser-attack had hit it far harder than he had initially thought, or maybe all this jumping, regenerating and rampaging took a lot out of it for some reason. Whatever the reason Caleb was not going to let this chance slip out of his hands. After all, the monster was a healer, the wounds closed only seconds after they had been caused, and thus there was no telling how long it would take the monster to recover from this seemingly drowsy state. Perhaps this sudden retreat was nothing but an attempt to stall for time. Time that would be nefariously used to recover from the damage he had incurred so far
Well, if that was the case, Caleb was not letting it happen. Not on his watch. He had already given the Drones their orders and the swarm of angry tennis-ball unleashed their volleys upon the monstrosity. Hopefully this would be enough to put him down for the count. He tapped another button on his left-top and activated his radio to listen in to what the boys in blue where up to. The police would be here in less than two minutes, three tops. and if the monster was on the ground when they arrived it was their headache. The drones zoomed around, firing their laser-guns at the monster. for a while Caleb almost felt sorry for the stupid, ugly thing. It must be like being trapped in a swarm of angry wasps after kicking their nest, only in this case the wasps did not sting you, they shot at you with laser-weapons.
He crossed his arms over his chest as his robotic minions ceaselessly bombarded the monster who soon collapses to the ground, whimpering his (hopefully) last conscious words for tonight. He just wants to eat? Caleb snorts derisively in the air as the monster stops moving. With a clickity-clack on his left-top the drones cease their attack and a few of them destroys any evidence he may or may not have left behind at the scene. He did not want to get his identity revealed, as that would lead to no end of trouble. However the majority of his little helpers fly around in the air, keeping their 'eyes' on the monster, ready to unleash another salvo on him if he starts to move again
"Don't worry, I'm sure they'll feed you in prison." Caleb says smugly as he observes the police-cars speeding to the scene. Hopefully they would be equipped to deal with this monstrosity, and his part in this would be over.

Re: Monster on the loose (Done)
It took several minutes after the drones ceased fire for Demetrius' final wounds to heal. If the barrage of lasers had lasted any longer, his body may not have had the necessary power to heal.
A moment after his wounds had finally healed, several cop cars arrived on the scene, followed shortly by ambulances and a couple SWAT cars in case the monster they had arrived to deal with proved too much for regular police officers. They found the monstrous looking creature on the sidewalk. They (barely) handcuffed him, threw him in the back of one of the police cars and drove him off to jail.
The ambulances that had followed were immediately busy with all the bodies. There were so many people there, not all of which alive, some in critical condition, some of them better off. It took them several hours to sift through them all, distinguishing the alive from the many dead.
All the News Channels of New York reported the event that night, and several all across the country acknowledged the event. Like vultures surrounding and devouring a body, they all flocked to the event for views. One channel had some footage of the event from the cameras at the catastrophe, the few that weren't destroyed. The camera showed in full detail the monstrous creature and several of his actions, but when the pole it was attached to fell over from the damage the city sustained, the last image it showed was the flying hero that fought with the monster.
When Demetrius arrived in prison, he was thrown in a reinforced jail cell especially made to keep things like him in. For a couple days, they just observed him sitting in the corner of the cell, eyes open and glowing, withering away. They delivered him food everyday, but he never ate any of it, and his body showed the effects of it by becoming skinnier and skinnier. Finally, a guard went in there, and Demetrius jumped on the opportunity. The cop was angered by the beast and simultaneously scared of it, and Demetrius fed off of it, his first meal in days. This immediately resulted in several guards attacking him. He was able to feed off of a couple of them, but the door slid closed before be could get out, and he didn't have the strength to break out. To his luck, though, the guard that went in there was trapped with him, and Demetrius knew better than to bite the hand that feeds, or in this case, kill the man that fears.

Re: Monster on the loose (Done)
It was fortunate for our geeky hero that his badass helmet hid his face, because underneath it Caleb Cromwell was grinning like an idiot. People pointed and looked up at him in awe as the police carted that monstrous fellow away without much pomp and circumstance. The various media-people down there crowded them like vultures along with various private citizen eager to snap a picture of the defeated, unconscious monstrosity. Oh yes, people had taken notice of him now. For a moment he was about to announce his name, but he decided against it. "Whiz-kid" sounded too much like some dork taking a pee-break. Same thing with the Tinkerer. Sounded quite a bit too much like "the tinkler" said in an offensively stereotypical japanes accent. No, He'd sit this one out and see if the press would give him an awesome nickname. God knows he couldn't settle for one on his own.
The robots were already gathering around him as he was about to head out of there, he decided to do a quick aerial somersault before flying back home. After all, he had to get home before his parents woke up. Fortunately the night was relatively young and if he got moving now he would most likely make it in roughly four hours, given the current weather-patterns. With any luck he might even be able to catch a view of himself on the morning news!
