Divinity [Data] Empty Divinity [Data]

Post by Samael Christensen May 31st 2015, 11:54 pm

A political marriage had never been something that Idol had ever wanted as far as something he did within his life, yet here he was going through one. Not to say that his betrothed wasn’t a pleasant person, but he could easily tell they did not want this. He however, was not really for it one way or the other, as he knew eventually it would have been expected of a prince of all things. Still, this world was so different from the one that he had come from, humans were different and lacked the vibrancy they had as if a shadow had fallen over them. People were lonely, without faith in anything and that more than anything made the sickness worse.

For now he had decided to dress up much like the humans did, with a muscle shirt and a small over shirt covering that one unbuttoned and a pair of camo pants that he thought just fit him. The strength that was now flowing through him, well now that was something he was enjoying more than anything. That feeling of fading had left him, leaving only even an iota of his former strength flowing through him like a flood. If things went well from here, perhaps he could lift that darkness that had lingered over this world, to fill it with the same light that had garnished his world. Just thinking about it was enough to make his chest flow with happiness, to imagine that something could happen, and be brought with his own hands. His father had said he was destined for great things, so it was the only natural conclusion.

Still, getting the people to break free of their disillusioned ways was something he would need to get to first. No one was willing to believe in the gods, save for this god that they could not even see. They said it was part of this beings plan, but that felt more like a cop out than anything else. Maybe they worshipped a being that did not even exist, and if that were the case then idol wanted to free them from that falsehood. Running his fingers over the amulet around his neck, Idol could feel that it was nothing more than an empty vessel now, all of the power it once held had been spent to win the followers of the god Yamm. While he had not won them all, it was nice to know their budding faith could sustain him for a small while.

However, where would he even start? Winning more followers within the city might have been good, though how he would do so was the question. Maybe helping the downtrodden might have been a good start, as he had learned that there were apparently people that could just die in the streets, even if that was not always the case. Still, the idea that someone could die like that was more than enough reason for him to want to fix that. Fingering the bracelet around his right wrist, he could feel the energy within it that would allow it to become his main weapon, a marvelous blade that had been fabled to have been forged of rays of moonlight. His brain would run over and over again with the possible ways he could go about this, eventually maybe he could emulate those other powered individuals within this world.

Idol personally called them blessed ones, but many just called them meta-humans. Perhaps the lack of will to believe in blessings was why they would never approve of these gifts, or maybe they truly feared such power. Not that he couldn’t understand, because here humans were relatively fragile compared to the ones that he knew of.  That being until he saw someone motioning for him to follow, a young looking woman dressed much like any other human but he could see a strange light within them. Idol squinted as if unsure what he was seeing before following this person into one of the cramped alleyways that formed when large buildings are built so close together. ”You’re different than the others.” Idol would say with half interest.

“I could say the same of you. I’ve been following that energy you’re putting off, it’s like nothing I’ve ever felt within this world. What are you?” She would ask, her own eyes glowing a soft blue as his began to glow an even brighter gold.

”I am a god.” He said without a hint of arrogance.

Divinity [Data] Empty Re: Divinity [Data]

Post by Data June 1st 2015, 1:27 am

It was odd, he never thought he would end up staying in LA for so long, especelly not after all that had happened to him in the city. But of course, he never thought he would end up doing a lot of things, so he supposed he should just expect the unexpected by now. In truth he liked the place more then New York, but the Empire City was his home, so he would return eventually. He didn't know what he was really doing with his life, sure he had saved some people and did a bunch of heroic stuff, but was he really a hero? Maybe he was just a freak who got his parents killed. But it wasn't healthy to have such doubts, no, he had to think positive at the very least. After all, he didn't want to go back to drinking, that never really ended well. He thought about seeing someone about it, but he was 17 without a real legal guardian, that would only cause problems for him. Instead he would just try to use his force of will, he would try to stop himself from dropping into that depression pit he always seemed to be on the ledge of, but would he succeed?

Even with his sense of loneliness, there was some good in it all. He felt free, he could go wherever, do whatever, it was a nice feeling. So there he was, standing on top of the golden gate bridge, seriously. Unnatural looking green eyes looking out into the sun that was slowly making its way from the city for the rest of the night. He dangled his feet, not even paying attention to the long fall beneath him. He let the fresh air flow through his lungs, listening to his favorite music while trying to block out the worlds shit. He had become pretty skilled in the use of his powers at this point, not necessarily a master yet, but at least he didn't randomly get video feed from some rather questionable sites every few minutes. People below were starting to gather at the sight of him casually sitting there, and the fire department and cops also showed up. They should have assumed that if he could get up there, he could get down. What a waste of everyone's time.

"Son, we need ya to come down, alright. We're sending some units up to get you, just stay calm and don't do anything rash." A man with one of those speaker things said, which received a chuckled response.

"I'm not a suicide you idiots. Can't you let a guy be?" Jake said with an amused look on his face as he stood up, which caused the crowd to let out worried yells. In the next moment, Jake jumped. He fell through the air, flipping a few times much to the officers horror. But before he hit anything, he dematerialized right before their eyes, which turned their looks of horror to looks of shock and awe. He had turned into pure living data, allowing him to travel through the air much like a song does on the way to your radio. Where he would go next, well, that wasn't really known even to him. Maybe he would jump off the Eiffel Tower next.

After a lengthy flight, he stopped on top of some random building, a smirk still wide across his face. He didn't know why, but he felt what he just did was hilarious. He was about to leave, but as was common in his time being here something caught his eye. Two people in the alleyway below him, both with rather luminous looking eyes, having a pretty odd conversation from what he could hear. Now he had a choice to make, give into his curiosity once again and go down there, or just leave. Well, curiosity ended up winning that bout. The kid calling himself a god was kinda the tip of the ice berg.

"There's a lot of people with god complexes in this world, i just didn't realize they started so young." Jake said just as he appeared rather abruptly in the alley. He had a smile on his face, but he was kinda irritated anyone would have the gull to call themselves a god.

Divinity [Data] Empty Re: Divinity [Data]

Post by Samael Christensen June 1st 2015, 2:47 am

Idol was unsure what was up with this woman, she was obviously not your average human but the energy running through them was a strange one. Perhaps she was a mage, even though he was used to a different energy that what she held. “A god? Now that is an interesting claim.” She said more amused than anything else, but he did expect something like that. Humans were always like that, unwilling to believe something even if it were true. That scoff she then let out was more than enough to annoy him, causing a scowl to form upon his lips for a second. He knew this was how it was, in fact most people reacted to him like this and some even outright called him a heretic. Those implications alone were hurtful, but they lived within their delusions, so that was the reaction he should have expected.

Add in a second unknown human with their mocking tones, and this became nothing more than slightly annoying. Something had been said about a god complex, but he did not quite grasp that concept, that he had a complex about being a god rather than actually being one. Despite the smile upon their face, he could tell that they were not by any means happy with the truth, or perhaps he did not want to believe it. He would look from the woman to the slightly younger male, furrowing his eyebrows for a second. ”It’s not a claim, it’s a fact.” He said, letting the glowing golden eyes meet with the womans almost intensly.

“Sure it is, well whatever you are. I can tell you aren’t of this world, and that’s more than enough of a concern of mine. I’m also curious as to who you are.” She would then add, turning towards Jake with a raised brow.

"Me? I'm just a curious kid. I heard you two talking and decided i would just jump in, ya know?" Jake said pulling his black hoodie down to reveal his dark and shaggy hair. He then took a slight step forward, coming further out of the shadows. His luminous green eyes getting hit by the light as he did so. Now that he thought about it, they all seemed to have some pretty cool colored eyes. He guessed that was a thing with people like him.

"But the real question is, who are you two? We got a guy calling himself a god over here and a girl talking about things not of this world, i smell trouble. Though your lucky in that i don't feel like stopping you or anything , I'm sure if you guys end up trying to takeover the world or something some other guy will take care of it. I'm just incredibly bored, and incredibly curious." Jake said. It was true, he didn't really care about what they were doing. He just wanted to know what made the kid so special, and why the female was acting so odd toward him. Of course, he could call that one Daniels guy if there really was a threat. If he remembered correctly he took care of things like that.

“Curious kids have ended up dead before.” The woman stated with a casual dismissive gesture, as if there was some knowledge within her words. While Idol could agree with that much, he still did not like the feel of this woman that had so casually beckoned him towards her. Add in the fact that this guy had a strange color of green eyes, and that meant the three of them were more than they appeared. Perhaps he was one of these blessed, meta-humans as many had come to call them or he was perhaps some manner of supernatural being. He would ask who they were, not quite likely to believe who he was.

”Take over the world? Why would I want to do that?” He would ask genuinely confused. He had no need to rule a world, only help those in need, doing anymore would have been pointless in his mind. Attempting to break up through cracks within the concrete around Idol were small flowers, vibrant with life even within an urban jungle like this.

“You must be one of those misguided heroic types. I have no interest in ruling this world, only protecting it from extradimensional threats.” So she was one who defended this world from things beyond, he had a few of those within his own world but mostly his father had been the one that did so. “This supposed god is not from this world.” Why she was telling him all of this was unknown, but perhaps she could sense something within him that was not too normal.

”I’m not from this world I’ll admit, but I have no intentions of harming it.” Now he was defending his reasons from this unknown woman, making his time within the world more annoying than anything else. ”However, it seems this world is in need of healing. It’s terribly broken.” He said this with compassion more than anything, not arrogance but true belief in what he said.

Divinity [Data] Empty Re: Divinity [Data]

Jake laughed a little when the woman called him a hero, it seemed he came off as more of one then he thought. It was never his intention to be a hero really, but when your a good person and you have power, you tend to fall into that category. So these two were pretty hardcore, one was a protector of the world, and one claimed to be a god, Interesting. Jake could admit the world was pretty messed up right now, but that didn't mean it needed a savior. Been there done that with people who thought they could just rise up and rule the world for a 'greater good'. Jake was starting to wonder where this little encounter would go, they were talking about questionable things sure, but they hadn't done anything, even if Jake had the power to bring them in he wouldn't have.

"I suppose you think you're the answer to it being broken? You think you can fix it or something? I'm sorry to tell you, even a god can't fix this place, not without taking everyone's free will away. And at that point, its not much of a world. If you really are from beyond, move along, this place will resist you more then you know if you go around claiming to be a god." Jake said, getting a little more interested in the two. He would stick around for awhile, after all talking to two beings of this nature was more fun then going to bed.

Divinity [Data] Empty Re: Divinity [Data]

Post by Samael Christensen June 4th 2015, 9:34 pm

Did he think he was the answer to the worlds problems? Not in the sense that he was born to fix them, but he would not let things continue as he had seen them, something about it just hurt him more than anything else. A world so broken and destitute needed to be saved, even if the people did not want it. This males cynicism was more than enough of an example, even how he mistook his speech for wanting to fix this world. Healing, that was what he offered this world and if people could believe in a god who's presence could not even be seen within this world, then one who was actively working was someone that they would have loved to know. It was all logic that worked considering how his mind worked, but it may have not been the most sound logic.

”I may not be the answer, but i'm willing to try.” Of course the continued to say that he claimed to be a god, even though he could not lie even if he wanted to. It was sort of something that came with being what he was, and the fact that Idol never found a use within lying. ”People always resist change though, it doesn't mean the efforts aren't worth anything. I'm not here to fix things, I mean to heal the world. Whether you believe what I am or not, well that's irrelevant.” He seemed to ignore the woman now to seemingly debate with the meta-human, concentrating those strange golden eyes upon him. He wondered why not many people felt his presence, but it might have been because this world had corrupted this poor human.

“You sound really naive for a god” The woman would chime in, drawing a small amount of ire from idol, though it was imperceptible upon his face.

”Of course, how can you expect to inspire hope if you aren't hopeful yourself?” He said with absolute certainty.

“You're really sickening, you know that?”

”I don't know what you mean.” Idol said cocking his head to the side before turning to Jake. ”I can see your soul, it's clouded with something. A darkness.” His eyes seemed to glow brighter upon making this statement.

Divinity [Data] Empty Re: Divinity [Data]

Post by Data June 8th 2015, 1:24 am

It seemed this guy was pretty stuck on being a god of earth, oh well, there were lots of those kinds of people and they never turned out to be to much trouble. Still though, something about him made Jake interested. Whether it was his boldness, or perhaps some kind of power, he didn't know. Either way, Jake was just about to high tail it out of there, but then the male said something..... He said Jake had a darkness? What the hell did that mean? Sure he was a little screwed up, but...a darkness?

"You know, my parents told me that all the time because of my rather gothic taste. Just a little less dramatically." Jake said, an amused look on his face. All jokes aside though, what could this guy be talking about?

"But seriously, what do you mean by that?" Jake asked brushing a few stray strands of black hair from his view. Either this kid was full of crap, or he truly did sense some form of darkness in Jake's soul. But it wasn't like he had killed anyone, or did anything truly wrong. Maybe he was mistaking grief for darkness.

Divinity [Data] Empty Re: Divinity [Data]

Post by Samael Christensen June 11th 2015, 1:33 am

Idol didn't quite understand the need for witticisms but it may have just been how he dealt with this darkness about him. The woman he could not quite understand, something about her did not seem right to him. Usually darkness meant something about them, either evil or a something clouding them. It could have been grief, anger, hatred and so many other things that existed within humans really. While a god, he was not a psychic unfortunately, otherwise this would have much easier on him. Sadly, mortals always expected the two to be synonymous, which was just rude.

It was like him asking them to prove they were mortal by dying, a total stupid argument. ”I don't know that much. I'm a god, not a psychic. All I can tell is something is dark in there, that's all.” He said rather plainly. ”Well, not normally. Oh the problems that would save.” he started off before sort of muttering to himself, stroking his chin and looking up. ”Well a lot of things would make this easier, but I think i'm getting off topic.”

Well that was bullshit. Why tell someone they have a darkness in them if you can't explain further then that? Maybe he just fancied confusing people, or maybe he was just a fraud. The boy was likely a meta human that decided he was a god one night, some people.

"So, where do you come from? If you really are a god, well, I'd like to know a few things, i think anyone would." Jake said pulling a cigarette from his pocket and lighting it up. He took a long drag from it, then continued.

"Come on, drop some knowledge on me, I'm curious. Where do we go when we die? How were we really created? Surely as a god you'd know the answers to these long debated questions." Jake said. He was pretty much ignoring the other one, between a potential god and some lady that thought she was a universal protector, the god was more interesting. Jake was pretty much testing the boy now, he wanted to put pressure on him to see if he could come up with an answer to these sensitive questions. Up until now, the male seemed to have an answer for everything, so this would be interesting.

Divinity [Data] Empty Re: Divinity [Data]

Post by Samael Christensen June 24th 2015, 2:16 pm

If there was one thing he could gain from the males tone, it was they did not believe him within the slightest and a part of him wanted to show he was not some metahuman with a god complex. As that seemed to have been the assumption, even though he was not quite sure what the saying even meant. ”Not from around here. It's a place far more….magical I suppose would be the phrase. Full of dragons, gods and…..alot less cynical. ” He explained simply as he looked to the woman who was more than anything just silently listening now as if curious what he would say next.

However this kid wanted answers, about where people went after they died and why they were created. However that was getting into domains that he had no idea about. ”Well when people die they tend to go into a hole.” Idol answered now answering sarcasm with sarcasm, even if his face was the usual naive expression. You could surmise he didn't have a mean bone in his body just by looking at his face. ”As for why you were created, I can't tell you that. You make your own purpose for living, a god can't tell humans how they should live. ” Still, he felt like showing Data that his claims were not unfounded.

”However, I may have a way to show i'm not….full of shit as people say around here.” Raising a single hand, he concentrated and thought of what he would want.  Energy rippled around him in a golden aura, rising upwards as the very air seemed to do the same and for a moment it was as if reality itself were folding. Within an instant something formed before Idol, taking humanoid shape but standing shorter than him at around 4'0. Within a few seconds the shape would take on human features, clothing forming over them and medium length brown hair forming atop their heads with simple brown eyes looking around them. ”So it looks like I can still do that.” Idol said with a smirk and a nod, patting the newly created human child on the head.

Even the woman was surprised now, mouth gaping as she glared at him. “What did you just do?” She would ask awestruck.

”I...created a human. I thought it would be obvious.”

Did he just get called cynical? It seemed he did. Jake couldn't really argue that point though, the boy was quite distrusting. But was that really a bad trait? Not really, especelly given the nature of the world at this point. People were crazy, that much he knew for sure.

As expected, the male avoided Jake's questions with sarcasm and bullshit. Jake had pretty much decided the kid was full of crap, that is, before he did something insane. Light and energy whirled around for a moment, before settling into a human shape. In a few moments, a person stood before them.

Jake gasped, his eyes widened. He didn't even know how to understand what he just saw. Sure he had had his fair share of impossible, but this.......this was creating life. Jake waved his hand in front of the being, as if to make sure it was real. The beings eyes responded as any other humans would, and they made eye contact; this was no trick.

"W-what? ......No, that's......that isn't possible." Jake said, shocked. He didn't know what to think, he didn't know what to say. His face went pale as if he had seen a ghost, and he said nothing more.

Divinity [Data] Empty Re: Divinity [Data]

Post by Samael Christensen July 5th 2015, 4:13 pm

The human that Idol had created was real, it reacted to stimuli, was warm and all of the other human things. Sure, it was only a young human but then again creating a soul was not as easy as one would assume. It required more power than just creating a body, and in some cases a lot of luck as even humans had created things with souls before. Maybe that wasn’t something that happened too often in this world, but Idol had bore witness to such events before, and it was something he always found to be amazing. ”How can't it be possible? I just did it right now?” idol asked simply, a little baffled by the males continuing questioning of everything that was happening before him.

Perhaps they just did not want to believe, even if he did something that was worthy of it right before him. The fact was enough to cause a small amount of hurt within him, but that was something that Idol could hide easily enough with a small smile.

“Well this has been informative.” The woman would note before seeming to take off.

”Well then...anyway if you don't want to believe there's always more I can do.” Idol added with a shrug.

Divinity [Data] Empty Re: Divinity [Data]

What this person had done was amazing, yet with all his power he seemed to be incredibly naive; maybe not stupid, just...like he was from another planet. He didn't realize what Jake said had nothing to do with what he did believe, it was just a way to express his shock. Perhaps this boy hadn't been around humans enough to get that sort of thing. He offered to do something else, but that really wasn't needed. Jake sort of believed him, maybe he wasn't THE god, but he certainly had a godly power. The female just walked off, saying this was 'informative'. What the hell? That's all you say when you see that? Jesus lady.

"I.....guess i believe you. But, why exactly are you here? Aren't you supposed to be in the sky somewhere listening to only a select few prayers?" Data asked, still eyeballing the created human. He didn't really no what to say or how to react, he didn't exactly have experience dealing with things of this nature.
