Questions without answers (Streak)

Jake had been doing nothing but driving the last few days, and besides his run in with those people at the gas station nothing eventful had happened. He had did what he needed to do, he left the state of New York hopefully for good. He didn't care that his parents might be worried about him, at this point they were dead to him. How could someone do that to their own kid? Jake had so much trouble trying to wrap his mind around it, after raising someone you just throw them under the bus like a dog? It didn't matter anymore, he was on his own now.

He used the money he stole earlier to buy a hotel room and stock up on food. He had no idea what he would do from here, but he had a way to get cash so he would be fine. He decided to get out of the hotel room to get a cup of coffee down the street at a little coffee house. He had a sort of addiction to caffeine, and this crappy hotel coffee just wouldn't do. He walked down to the shack, got his coffee and left, no problems. Except when he got outside, a rather shady character was walking right for him. He picked up the pace a little, trying to see if this guy was indeed following him.

When the male went faster as well, Jake charged into an all out run. He was now running though crowds of people as this guy chased after him, pushing people aside trying to lose him. He ended up making a mistake, running into an alleyway that was a dead end. He turned to face his pursuer with his back against the wall.

"What do you want!" He yelled as he threw his cup of coffee at the unknown man. The guy moved slightly to the side, the cup flying past him.

"You'll find out soon enough kid, come with me." He responded in a harsh tone.

Jake sighed, realizing he was screwed unless he used the powers he hated so much.

So this was Chicago? It seemed so different then his hometown in New Orleans. Then again, Tyler never really left Lousiana often. That was where his job was. This time however, he decided to get out of his comfort zone. He hadn't been here long. In fact, Tyler had just got off the train a few hours ago, wearing his hero outfit underneath his traditional civilian clothes. Blue jeans with a light blue long sleeved shirt. With a black hooded jacket over it.

Tyler had been walking near the coffee shop when he saw a figure talking to a boy who didn't seem much younger than he was. It quickly turned south when he saw the boy break into a run with the man running after him. Guess crime does happen eveywhere. Bare thought to himself. Tyler broke into a run after them. To everyone else it looked like a sprint, but Tyler was actually jogging.

Tyler saw them go into the alleyway. He followed them until he ended up behind the man. "What do you think your doing?" Tyler asked, demanding an answer.

The man slowly approached Jake, removing a pair of high tech looking hand cuffs from his jacket. Right as he was about to place them around Jake's wrists though another man appeared behind him. Jake was relieved he had shown up, maybe he could get out of this without doing his.....thing. The man slipped the cuffs back into his jacket and spun on his heels to respond to the new guys question.

"Move along sir, this boy is a runaway and violent meta human wanted for multiple crimes. This is not your business." The man said in response. He had an obvious government vibe about him, like an FBI or CIA agent. That and the suit pretty much sealed the deal. Jake cringed when he said he was a 'violent metahuman'. He hadn't hurt anyone, all he wanted was to be left alone. This guy scared the crap out of Jake, he didn't know who he was or where he would take him. He had to get away, but showing his powers in front of these people would only serve to inflame their chase.

He decided to do it anyway, with some concentration he disappeared from view. He was traveling on wifi and phone signals, attempting to flee. As soon as Jake did this though, the agent removed a small device from his pocket. Upon pressing the button all wireless signals in the area were jammed, causing Jake to have nothing to travel on. He reappeared about ten feet off the ground, falling onto the concrete on his back. He grunted in pain and tried to get up, but was quickly held down by the cop agenty guy.

"Jake Cameron, your under arrest for the murder of Phil and Mary Cameron. As well as multiple counts of grand theft and resisting arrest.  You have the right to remain silent. Anyt...." He said as he hand cuffed Jake roughly. He continued reading Jake his miranda rights as he pulled him to his feet. Jake heard only one thing though, the man had said he was under arrest for the murder of his parents..

"Whha..my..No i didn't kill anyone! My parents aren't dead!" He screamed in confusion as he was pulled out of the ally. Jake didn't know what was happening, was he set up? Did..did he kill them? NO, he couldn't have. No meta human power could have made him do that. This whole thing was a nightmare, all he wanted was to go back to being normal now. And his parents....were they actually dead? There were so many questions he didn't have answers for, all he could do now was submit to being drug to wherever this dude was taking him. The cuffs somehow shut off his powers, he could feel them leave. It was a bitter sweet feeling, on one hand he was glad to have gotten a break from them, but on the other it made him completely helpless.

This whole arrest was a show for the man that had just shown up. The 'cop' worked for an organization called the Agency and Jake was being captured. His name was Agent Micheal Daniels, and he had prepared for detaining Jake weeks before. He hoped the male would just move along and not get to suspicious, for his own sake.

Streak was horrified. He didn't know what was going on, or if he should get involved. He had to do something. This boy was a metahuman? Intetesting. Streak was about to do something stupid. He felt likr it was the right thing. The speedster went at the man at mach 1, hitting him in the head. The official fell to the floot unconscious. Streak walked toward the boy, and knelt down a bit.

"Hey, you can call me Streak. Are uou ok?" He asked. He didn't know what he was getting into, but this boy needed help. The past was the past, now this metahuman was the victim. Tyler was determined to help him. At least until he figured out what the hell was going on.

Daniels wasn't expecting a speedster, the attack took him completely off guard. He was hit on the side of the head by a super sonic punch, knocking him to the ground. However, it wouldn't produce the speedsters desired effect. Agent Daniels was equipped with a high tech shielding system that protected him, the punch did no damage at all. He played like he was knocked out and waited for an opening, he knew now that he was dealing with a very fast individual.

The man who called himself streak approached Jake and knelt down next to him, introducing himself and asking if the boy was alright. Jake said nothing, he just stared at streak in shock. Water filled his eyes, he had a mixture of anger and despair filling him. All he could do was be still, he had never experienced something like this. After a long pause and blank stare he finally pulled himself to his feet, letting out a few incoherent sounds. He then snapped himself back to reality, responding to streak after what must have been a very awkward silence.

"...I'm...not hurt, at least not physically. I..don't know what to do." He mouthed looking to the slightly older male in front of him. Seeing this as an opening, Daniels slid two very small discs along the ground which landed underneath the pair. The discs then shot a controlled bolt of electricity at there targets meant to incapacitate them. Jake was hit, his body shook wildly as he was electrocuted before he fell to the ground. Daniels then rolled backwards, getting to his feet with a gun pointed right at streak in case he somehow managed to evade his discs. He was a terrific marksman with wicked fast reaction time, hitting even someone as fast as streak wouldn't be a problem.

Well this was awkward. Streak stared at the boy for a while before hearing him respond. Streak decided give a reassuring comment to him. After all, he was all shaken up. He felt bad for him. "Don't worry. Your going to be all-" Streak was then cut off by a sudden shock. The electricity rushing through him. He too shook violent and hit the ground. Impossible. He still conscious? He had hit him with a mach one punch. How didn't know how he did it. He laid there, observing this strange man. What was he up to...

Agent Daniels was surprised to see his discs took the speedster down, that wasn't actually expected. He figured he would evade, maybe even disarm him. This was almost too easy, and for a moment Daniels thought it might be a trick but quickly shook the thought as he approached the two downed metas. He raised his gun and fired a beam of an insanely cold substance that froze on contact at the speedsters legs. He hoped it would immobilize him, but if it didn't he already had about 30 back up plans. If the speedster was indeed neutralized he would report back using his communicator.

"Subject Proxy is detained, as well as an unknown meta human with superspeed. I'm coming back to headquarters." He reported touching an earpiece he was wearing. He would then touch both meta humans on the shoulder preparing to teleport to his nearby evacuation vehicle. It would take a few seconds to charge, but it seemed this mission was accomplished.

Streak was a bit dazed. He was seeing double as the man froze his legs. He was touched on the shoulder as he was about to teleported. He couldn't let this happen. He wasnt going anywhere, and neither wss the boy. His vision began to clear. He vibrated his molecules through the eyes as well as the hand of the agent. He would then, moving at incredible speeds, tried to punch the agent in the face, trying to get him to teleport without them.

Daniels was taken off guard by the males punch, which caused his shield to react shielding him from damage but not the knock back. He was thrown a good 10 feet from the two, and his teleporter activated. He disappeared unintentionally and in an instant was at his evacuation helicopter.

"Damn it!" He shouted to himself as he waved to the pilot, signaling for him to take off after them. He couldn't port back as his teleporter needed to charge, so he would have to chase them the old fashioned way.

Jake was dazed, but managed to finally come to his senses. He looked over at the man next to him who looked just as beaten as he, possibly more so. He still had the cuffs on, and Daniels held the key. Maybe this guys phasing would work. He then saw that the chopper was headed their way, it flew at its top speed to their location. He needed his powers back RIGHT NOW.

"Hey, uh, thanks. But, i gotta get these cuffs off or we are both done for. You think you could phase them off or something?" He said to streak.  Many thoughts were moving through his head, questions. Yet he mostly blocked them out, he had to or else this guy was gonna take them in. It was now clear to him this guy wasn't your average beat cop.

It wasn't long before Streak heard the helicopter. "You got to be kidding me." Streak said. He looked over to the boy, who had asked him to remove the handcuffs. He nodded as he was infront of him in a flash. He vibrated the handcuffs off of the boy's. Now was probably the worst time for questions but hey what the heck. "What did you do?" Streak asked. He began to get a little nervous as the copter flew a closer. Streak could probably outrun it, but what about the boy?

The helicopter was now very close, almost in weapons range. In no more then 20 seconds it would fire upon them, probably with non lethal rounds though. Jake felt his powers come back to him, that was a very weird experience. He had to make a choice now, he could take down the copper.....and probably kill everyone in it, or he could disrupt it and only buy them little time. His morals eventually won over the urge to pull it out of the sky, with a thought he took control of the copter. He turned it around, slowly landing it on a building far enough away to give them time to get out of dodge. He then disabled the engine so it couldn't pursue them further. He was sort of proud of himself for not killing the people in the helicopter, but that seemed like a very odd thing to be proud of.

It did have an impact on Daniels though, he realized he wasn't dealing with a killer. All he could do was laugh, he was beaten fair and square by two kids. He had to respect that though, and he would definitely look further into the boys parents case. Daniels watched them from the building unable to do anything as they talked.

"Thanks for your help...uh, Streak. I suppose you probably have questions, but unfortunately i have the same ones as you. I....have to see if my parents are ok, i'll keep in contact." Jake said to streak before disappearing in a wake of digital energy. He then traveled as far as he could, reappearing back in his car around the block. It was true he would keep in contact with Streak, the guy saved his ass. He would find him if he needed to, but right now he had to find out just what the hell was going on.
