Kirin is not like many of her Arcadian counterparts. During her development thousands of souls vied for control of the being that would become the speed demon, but while all these souls, all these voices waged war against one another, a quite soul snuck through, only seeking to find refuge and peace among the chaos. This tiny soul was Kirin.

Kirin is a very soft spoken and timid creature still trying to make heads or tails of her existence. She’s very inquisitive and curious and likes to learn all that she can. Kirin is not a very outgoing being and tends to tense or freeze up when confronted with social interaction. Kirin is also easily startled and when scared she will rapidly vibrate her body to trigger her secondary ability to turn invisible as a defense mechanism.



In the very depths of Arcadia many souls feed of the residual energy of the chaotic realm. These inklings of life are composed of malice, anger, and bad intentions. Occasionally kind and gentle souls appear here as well. Each of these souls clamors for any sort of semblance to ease their angry minds. This leads the wandering souls to lash out and attack their kin and then consume their fallen prey. As this vicious cycle of battle and feeding continues, the souls eventually mature into the lowest form of Arcadian life, pygmy demons. While these pygmy’s may be the lowest class of demon in Arcadia, they are still quite formidable in their own right.

When a congregation of souls takes on the form of a pygmy they continue on their path of carnage. The only way to grow in the hellish realm of Arcadia is to fight and win. Pygmy’s will continue to consume their own kind until reaching the second stage of their evolution. Once in this second stage, the demons begin to show some form of personality though this often changes as each of the souls forming the being all compete for control. It isn’t until one of these souls can wrestle control from the others, that the transition to a full fledged demon happens.

In Kirin’s case, a timid and very quiet soul managed to resist being assimilated through sheer will power alone. As the souls all fought one another for control, Kirin quietly slipped past. It didn’t seek to gain control or become whole, no, it only sought peace and quite and in doing so, the other souls were absorbed and gave Kirin full control. The first thing Kirin remembers was being surrounded by a group of scary looking demons, they meant the female demon no harm, but she didn’t know this. All she could think about was how scary they were and how badly she wanted to get away from them. Without thinking, Kirin tried to run which resulted in her running through Arcadia to earth through a portal she involuntarily opened.

The only thing that stopped the young demon from running was the fact that she ran into a person a few seconds after exiting the portal. The force knocked her and the human to the ground and when she opened her eyes she found herself surrounded by another group of strange beings, these were less scary than the demons, but the looks they were giving her did not seem so inviting. A sizable group had formed around the demon almost instantly. Some people took pictures of the strange looking girl, and others shot her confused and even disgusted glares. Surrounded on all sides, Kirin began to panic and started to shake uncontrollably which made her disappear.

The speed demon’s sudden disappearance drew several gasps from the crowd. Then a very commanding voice rang out over the crowd. Kirin couldn’t tell why, but she knew this voice. The voice ordered the group to disperse and they did, as if she was their leader. As the voices from the crowd began to die down and fade away, only the commanding voice remained, only know it had become more soft and kind. The voice called out to Kirin and told her not to be afraid. When she ceased her shaking, Kirin opened her eyes and came face to face with her queen, the ruler of Arcadia, and once worshiped goddess of war Madeline. She extended her metal hand and offered it to Kirin, and she helped the young demon up.

Madeline was intrigued by the phenomenon that was Kirin and after spending some time with the young demon and teaching her all about who and what she was, Madeline decided to allow Kirin to stay on earth. Madeline set the female demon up with a place to stay and educated her on her version of how things worked on earth, giving her free reign to do as she pleased. Kirin spends her days trying to fit in, but mostly she tries to stay out of sight and avoid any conflict, while trying to discover her purpose, her true calling.

Power 1: Arcadia’s Haste- Kirin through her evolution and creation was gifted with the ability of super speed. By subconsciously harnessing the Arcadian energy flowing through her body, the young demon is capable of moving at high speeds. At current, the female demon is capable of maxing out at around mach 5. Kirin’s mind is hardwired to be able to perceive and react to the world around her while moving at such high speeds. This also means Kirin is able to react to danger with lightning fast reflexes.  

Power 2: Demonic Durability- Like many of her kind, Kirin’s body is fortified by the energy from Arcadia that rests within her very being. Kirin’s tissues and bones are strengthened to a very high degree that allows the young fiend to withstand a variety of harmful effects to her such as be able to withstand heavy physical trauma from high speed impacts and clashes with hard hitting individuals. Kirin’s body is also highly resistant to heat.

Power 3: Cloak and Dagger- Kirin through her growth and creation has developed a unique side power as a result of her timid nature and desire to hide from her fears rather than face them. This power has manifested itself as the ability for the young demon to turn completely invisible when moving at high speeds, primarily when she’s using her speed to move around. Kirin also uses this ability as a defense mechanism to hide from her problems by rapidly vibrating her body at high speeds to trigger this power and turn invisible.

Power 4: Arcadia’s Protection- Another power shared by almost every Arcadian demon is the ability to heal from near fatal wounds. The realm of Arcadia seeks to preserve and safeguard all of it’s creatures by bestowing upon them the ability to heal from bodily harm. Kirin’s heal goes one step further thanks to her super speed. The young demon girl is able to heal any damage that gets through her durability. The speed at which these wounds heal is entirely dependent on the extent of the damage, and is even able to regrow limbs and repair internal organs given the opportunity.

Power 5: The Dark is My Ally- Kirin is capable of calling upon the energy of Arcadia and using it to create attacks of pure darkness or rather hard shadow constructs. Kirin hasn’t had much practice in this area of her powers as she tries to avoid conflict at all costs but her current knowledge allows her to create projectiles in the form of small spikes that can punch through steel. Kirin can also form makeshift clothes using this darkness as well.



Weakness 1: Have you ever tried running on ice?- Ice is a big counter to Kirin and her impressive speed. Just dropping the temperature in a given area can actually limit her speed greatly, preventing her from ever reaching her top speed while in a freezing environment. Entering a frigid environment makes it impossible for Kirin to activate her super speed at all and prevents her from triggering her invisibility since she doesn’t have access to her speed.

Weakness 2: Can’t hide forever!- Even with Kirin’s ability to become completely invisible to the naked eye while moving at super speeds, she can still be seen by other means such as thermal and infrared goggles. Kirin can also be seen by people with heightened senses and if someone has a means of viewing ultraviolet radiation they can see her as well. Another drawback to Kirin’s invisibility is that any little sound she makes can be heard, which could be used to determine her location.

Weakness 3: Please stop this assault on my ears!- Kirin’s ears are extremely sensitive and when exposed to high pitched frequencies it will cause her to lock up. So long as the noise continues, Kirin will be unable to move and will even experience a bit of pain.

Weakness 4: Please just go away!- Kirin is a very timid and quiet being, she does not like to be around to many people and has had a hard time adjusting to her newly formed life. It takes almost nothing to scare the young demon, even the slightest change in expression can illicit a response from her. Despite her impressive strength, the young demon tends to think she is too weak for a given situation and will take threats quite hard, causing her to try and hide from the problem rather than face it head on.

Weakness 5: SUNLIGHT!!!- Kirin’s mastery over her darkness projection is shady at best to begin with and sunlight to the mix and the constructs themselves become very brittle almost like glass, making them break on contact with hard surfaces.

Weakness 6: I don't like what I see!- While Kirin's mind may be hard to invade or control, she is easily fooled by illusions. Her timid nature and her tendency to overreact to things she sees and perceives means that those who can create illusions can easily use them to fool the young creature. (Illusions do not require permission to work on Kirin.)

Immortal- Like all other Arcadian demons before and after her, Kirin possesses immortality. Upon death the energy that holds her very being together with pool together to reform her body and bring her back to life. This holds especially true for Kirin as Madeline has taken a shining to the timid creature and wants to see how she grows over time.

Super Metabolism- Because Kirin is quite literally a speed demon, her metabolism blows through calories at a very accelerated pace. This means that the little demon is almost always hungry and in search of food.
