The Apex Predator (Closed)

Nothing good ever came from a visit by the Valtiari. Their name became more and more well known as they picked up more jobs. With their repeated success their clientele blew larger and their revenue dramatically increased. The money was just being saved for a larger project in the future, the siblings were not very materialistic people but the money did come in handy when needing to get them out of any trouble with the law. Where threats and displays of power failed money always prevailed as the most effective 'power'. Their latest target though proved to be an interesting one. The employer, per usual, wished to remain anonymous but provided explicit detail on the target which in turn lowered their price. The more information that they would have to gather on their target, the more expensive the hit would become. This time their work would bring them to the beautiful mountains in Malibu, California.

They were walking along the Pacific Coast Highway very casually, following an odd device that their employer had given them. This thing would apparently help them locate their target. The dot was moving every so often, but nothing too dramatic. The three of them stayed close together and kept themselves as in sync as possible as to not alert the individual of their presence. They have had encounters with sensory type metahumans in the past which quickly gave away their location and numbers. With staying synced together, it would hopefully create the illusion that there is only one of them. Soon they moved from the ocean side of the road closer to the mountains and eventually entered the more complicated terrain.
Unfortunately this device failed to show a differentiation in height, just a general location. For this, Giovanni took high into the sky and began to scan below while Valentina and Yvvone stayed on the ground level. It took quite a while before they could triangulate a location. For a short moment they had thought their target discovered them as the dot began to move very quickly in very random patterns. It did eventually slow, but then remained in a single position. The siblings assumed that their target had in fact discovered he was being tracked. There were no civilians that could be seen and there were no restrictions that had been put on this assassination, so they were going to start off fast and loud.

Valentina stayed hidden as well as she could for the time being. Yvvone began to erect a barrier around their target who was sitting on a cliff apparently just looking off into the distance. None of the three could blame him, for it was a fantastic view. The barrier was a translucent blue color that enclosed their target on all sides, simultaneously Giovanni came into view from above and created three large bird constructs. Releasing them, they quickly honed in on their target and would move at impressive speeds. If their assignment still remained inside the barrier, Yvvone would open up a small gap in the barrier on the top, left, and right sides in order to let in the explosive birds and then close them off as soon as they entered to keep the detonation concentrated. In the event that this individual managed to avoid the barrier, the three birds would still seek after him while Yvvone kept a close eye on his movements. Giovanni would not wait until the birds made contact with their target, but instead would place thems within the blast radius and detonate them as close as he could get them hopefully catching the opponent off guard. He would also only detonate one at a time, in the event that one went off but failed to cause significant damage. The other two would be standing by in order to try and finish the job. If need be, Yvvone would create a small hovering platform in order to keep an eye on the prize so to speak, and Valentina would do what she could to watch as well while also staying hidden. Their target was Sean Michael Atterrius. And if he was half as powerful as their employer described him, then The Valtiari siblings would have to pull out all the stops in order to make this a successful mission.

It was a direct hit. Yvonne's shield held its shape but had cracked at some points around it. This was obviously only the beginning, as their target recovered from the blast quite easily. Yvvone fixed the barrier up, keeping him contained, but also began to shrink it pulling into a cube form that remained hovering over some of the mountains. Inside of the barrier, smaller cubes began to emerge from the walls. These were adored with spikes which began to launch themselves towards Sean. Seeing that he had been able to withstand a head on blast from Giovanni, it would take some time to tear him down.These spiked cubes would fly around in random patters trying to scrape up this man even just a little. There were only about five or six of them at a time, and once he saw the progress he was making (or lack there of) he introduced a new trick. After they zipped past Sean, the spikes would fire themselves from the cubes just as an added offensive tactic in order to make them that much more difficult to dodge. Yvvone and Giovanni had noticed the sword that he had revealed, it was clearly not an ordinary sword and definitely not something they wanted to do close combat with. That was Valentina's department. She was still hiding away keeping an eye on the progression of the battle waiting for her time to strike. The two brothers did have him in a good position for the time being.

And now even still, Yvvone wished to increase the difficulty against their target. This time required his brother's abilities. Giovanni released a blanket of his energy that slowly dropped itself over the cube Sean was presently confined in. At first, the purple pearlescent energy blocked their view inside of the cube but the two energies began to mesh and the blanket became more translucent. With this now inplace, Yvvone and Giovanni worked in sync to increase the lethality of the spiked cubes. Now when a cube was created it was coated with Giovanni's explosive energy. If they came into contact with Sean, they would detonate instantly. And if he dodged the spikes would still fire out, also exploding on contact. The two of them hovered on creations of their own energy on either side of the prison. It was still a decent size, at a few hundred square feet but Yvvone would continue to shrink it periodically to give him less room to dodge. If this trio wanted to come out victorious against this opponent they would need to keep up with the full power assaults, because the moment they let up it could spell disaster.

Giovanni and Yvvone's tactics were working by keeping him occupied, but they were not causing enough damage. This was an excellent assessment of this man's agility, he seemed to surpass Valentina's level in skill though with three opponents it should all even out and the Valtiari should end up on top. Their target soon went to make an escape form their impromptu prison. Valentina was standing at the ready and as Sean sliced through the barrier, she had launched herself towards the man aiming to connect a kick with his stomach. Aiming more so to catch him off guard rather than to damage him.
If she managed to make contact, she would use his body as a spring board to send herself back dow to the ground as Giovanni would be launching an explosive bird towards him. If Valentina did not hit her target, she would continue past him onto a platform that Yvvone would create at a safe distance. The barrier that had been sliced through would dissipate, while the two brothers coordinated another attack. Yvvone began to materialize another barrier around Sean. It took a little bit of time to get together, but they were expecting their target to take advantage of this and try to maneuver out of the closing walls. Yvvone made it so that five of the walls of the cube appeared first that way the remaining open side would encourage him to exit that way. Hopefully just by reaction that way less thought went into his actions. Giovanni had concentrated a heavy amount of his explosive energy and fired it in a solid beam towards Sean. With Valentina now part of the battle The Valtiari Trio will be able to fight with the full force of their combined powers.
