Live Long Enough to Become the Hero
The sun was rising over the expansive villa nestled into the rural hills of Italy. Warm rays peeked through vibrant green leaves sending incandescent beams cascading over the lush viridian. Affable winds rushed over the green fields, forcing the blades of grass to bow and wave as if they were dancing. As the twilight turned to dawn, and dawn to a beautiful morning light, a woman stood transfixed on a balcony overlooking the grounds.
The pleasant zephyrs enveloped her face, sending the sheer curtains billowing. A few papers upon a lone, sturdy maple desk would fly off onto the floor of the large study. A plush rug was centered in the middle of the room, two chairs facing the desk. A fireplace was tucked between two floor to ceiling book shelves, a ladder on a roller system gave access to the books at the peak of the shelves.
A large mirror was above the fireplace, offering an inviting reflection of the woman as she stood upon the balcony. Her hair would whip gently, tossing around behind of her. She wore a silk evening gown, despite it being early morning. The teal fabric hugged her form, the skirt of the gown also falling prey to the southern Italian winds.
Knocking at the door echoed throughout the room. Without turning her head, she simply commanded them to enter.
"Come in."
Her voice was commanding, yet demure all at the same time. The heavy oak door would open with a soft whine. Clicking foot steps across the black marble floor introduced the person on the other side of the door. They were a small woman, standing at just five feet and five inches. Long, ivory hair would frame pale features, two orange fox like ears positioned on her head. A set of emerald irises would glimmer and soft peach lips would offer a smile as she stepped forward.
"He's here. Shall I let him find his way or escort him?" a British accented voice would ask as she folded her hands just above the small of her back. Just below her hands a fluffy orange fox tail with a white tip would sway with excitement.
"You did make sure to inform him that it was urgent... correct?" she asked, turning now to face Anna Daniels, the half fox demon who had served by Chelle's side for nearly eight hundred years.
"Of course, madame. I can hear him running up the stairs now." Moving across the room, Anna would sit herself down at the desk, producing a scroll. As she unrolled it, big calligraphy letters spelling 'Will and Testament' were most prominent.
"Good." she said, turning back to the sun.
It felt good on her face.

Re: Live Long Enough to Become the Hero
"How many fucking stairs are in this place?" Michael said aloud as he reached the top of yet another set of stairs, before taking off in a sprint down the hall towards his sisters office.
He hadn't known this family long, his family, but he had learned one important thing in that time. When someone said something was urgent, it usually means someone is dead, dying, or getting married. Which in this family, could either be good or bad, depending on context.
Standing outside of the oak doors, he took a moment to compose himself. Straightening his hair, smoothing the wrinkles in the black blazer he wore, and taking just a moment to readjust his jeans. He may have been meeting with his older sister, but she was also the CEO of the company he worked for, and she was less than vague in the reason for the required visit.
Pushing open the oak doors, throwing aside the formality of knocking, he brushed past the kitsune, giving the girl a small smile as he did.
"So.." He wondered aloud, his boots clicking against the black marble floor. "What do you need from me, Sis?"
He adjusted the strap of the blue silk wrap on his back, inside of which was his sword, the phoenix blade. He stuck his hands in his pockets as he looked around the room, trying to discern some clues. There was no banner or anything saying congratulations, so.. not a fantastic sign.
"Is this about Uzma and I getting back together? I know it's a good situation, but.. I don't think it requires a face to face. A phone call, maybe. Skype? Sure. But.. not.. this.."

Re: Live Long Enough to Become the Hero
Anna had stood up when she heard Michael's foot steps reaching the door. She would move back around to the front of the desk to greet him, offering him a bow of respect.
Her ears would fold back a bit as she stood back up, looking after Michael as he approached Chelle from behind.
"It's not about your fiance, no. But congratulations on making the wise decision to get back together with her. I like her." keeping her back to him, she would just close her eyes and soak in the sun.
The warmth felt so amazing on her skin as she just let out a soft sigh.
Turning finally, she would look to her youngest brother with sorrow behind of her auburn eyes. They seemed a bit more dull than normal, and her face looked thinner than normal as well.
"It's much more important than an engagement." she said, moving herself to sit down into the plush, high backed chair at the head of the desk. She would look down to the will, picking up a pen and uncapping it. She laid it down and then selected a bottle of ink from a drawer on the left side of the desk.
"Nathaniel, stop smoking already..." even in her weakened state, she could smell the clove cigarette outside of the doorway.
It was only a few minutes more that Nathaniel had made his way up the stairs. Instead of walking like Michael had, he used his wings, making the trip much shorter.
The large black appendages littered with white feathers would fold behind of his back. Standing at six feet and five inches, Nathaniel's short heeled boots offered him a grand entrance as he took a large puff from his clove cigarette.
"Sorry, Chelle-belle. You know I can't live with out 'em." he offered a fangy smile, but his cerulean eyes caught her face and he scowled.
"It looks like this isn't a social meeting." grabbing Michael by the shoulder, Nathaniel would guide his younger brother to have him sit down in one of the two chairs facing Chelle's desk.
Clearing her throat, Chelle would take the lid off of the ink bottle and prepare her pen.
"No, my dear sweet brothers... I have grave news." she would begin writing, her eyes cast down at the scroll.
"I am dying."

Re: Live Long Enough to Become the Hero
"Wait.. you're.. what?!" Michael sat there, motionless, his mouth agape, as he stared at his sister. "You're.. dying? But.. that's not.. that's not possible!"
He quickly stood from his chair, roughly placing his hands on the desk, leaning towards her. The chair slid, far, before falling over, sending a clattering noise ringing through the large officer. His eyes were drawn in a scowl, but not an angry one. His cerulean eyes held confusion in them, sadness. He swallowed hard at the saliva that was gathering in his mouth, biting his lower lip as he thought. Hard.
"We're.. you and I.. all of us.. we're immortal! Right?" He looked to Nathaniel, hoping his older brother would back him up here, confirm what he was saying. "That's one of the perks of our sharing that shit stains blood, isn't it? Immortality?"
He frantically searched around, looking for a sign, any sign, that this was some joke. Some sick twisted prank that Nathaniel and Chelle were playing on him. Hazing little brother. That had to be it, right?
"Even if you're sick.. we have money, a lot of it. Can't we just hire someone to make you better? I.. I can call Jeisen, he's smart. He can make you better!" He frantically searched through the pockets of his blazer, fumbling for his phone, his haste causing the device to slam to the ground, shattering in the process. "I.. I just got you. All of you. I.. I can't lose you Chelle. Not like.. not like Father Krieger.."
As he spoke his words were rapidly becoming choked up, saliva gathering at the back of his throat, small tears gathering at the corner of his eyes.

Re: Live Long Enough to Become the Hero
If she had been lying, she would have gladly laughed and told him so. She would have pulled him into a hug and gave him a very messy noogie, her knuckles digging into the edge of his noggin.
But, no. She wasn't kidding. This was real, and she was fighting back tears. She had to stay strong for her siblings. She was the eldest, after all. It was her duty to make sure she stayed strong for them.
"How did I know..." Nathaniel would mutter, a solemn look crossing over his face. He would just shake his head when Michael gave him a look, sighing deeply. Nathaniel would light up another clove cigarette, disregarding his sister's wishes entirely.
"I..." taking a sharp breath through her nose, she laid down the pen and stood up from the desk. She looked thinner than normal, her figure usually quite full, despite being the perfect size for her height.
She would cross around the side of the desk and embrace Michael. She pulled him into her, making sure to wrap him into her arms. Keeping him safe. The emotions she gave him were pure. Surreal, but pure. She held onto her baby brother and just gave his temple a soft kiss.
"I've tried everything I can think of, baby brother. There's... not much else I can do but accept fate and make sure everything is in order before I meet Death." She felt Nathaniel's arms wrap around herself and Michael as well.
Soft sobs came from Anna as she fled from the room, the door shutting behind of her as she left the room. Anna had been in the dark as well, and that was something that pained Chelle day and night. Anna had been by her side for hundreds of years... so not telling her companion about this sooner was eating away at the little half fox demon's heart.
"Look. I called you both here for business. Tyuki should be here soon as well, Bliss Fukuyama accompanying her, too. This is something that has been weighing on my shoulders for almost a year, and I know my time is coming soon. It could be months, maybe even another full year, but I can feel it eating away at me. I know it is my own fault, so I must accept it." she said, nuzzling her face against Michael's and then Nathaniel's before leaving the embrace.
Wiping at her eyes with a silken handkerchief, she cleared her throat and sank back into her chair.
"Now, before we all burst into tears again, let's get back to business." Smiling, Chelle's wings would spread behind of her. Strapped to her left wing was her blade, Xian the God Sword. Unstrapping the sheath, she laid the weapon out onto the table and picked up the pen again.
"Pick up your chair, and both of you have a seat, please." Nathaniel would comply, the clove he had lit earlier still hanging from his lips, the cherry dull as he just held a blank expression on his face. He had no idea what to do. He wasn't the bright one. She was. Chelle was. She always was. He had no idea what he could do in this situation. So, he listened and put out the clove cigarette, but kept it in his mouth to keep the flavor on the edge of his tongue... to help him cope.

Re: Live Long Enough to Become the Hero
"This is impossible!" Michael said, gritting his teeth as he rubbed his temples. "There's no way we've tried everything. We're immortal Chelle! We're the children of what is essentially a god, how can you be dying from some sickness? I haven't even had a cold since my demon blood woke!"
He didn't sit, instead pacing back and forth in a small pattern, his brain working a thousand miles a minute, formulating every plan his simple mind could. He eventually stopped, biting how lower lip, before letting out a sigh. He recovering his chair from it's discarded position and setting it back next to Nate. He didn't sit however, he was too restless.
His arms crossed across his mid section, one hand moving to his mouth, biting the space between the knuckles on his pointer finger in thought. He closed his eyes, letting out a deep, cleansing sigh before looking to Chelle.
"Fine, let's pretend you're dying." He said finally, placing his hands in the pockets of his jeans. "What do we do now then? You have an entire dimension of demons that will go berserk with you not around. Not to mention the family company. On top of that there's Anna, and the rest of your staff. What are Nate and I to do about them?"
He paused for a second, thinking over the words that Chelle had said. One part had bugged him, and it had taken him a moment to process what she had fully said.
"Wait.. who is this.. Bliss? Was that her name? Why are you bringing an outside into a family meeting?" He squinted his eyes at his sister in a confused manner, before looking to Nate. "Do you know anything about this?"

Re: Live Long Enough to Become the Hero
"Bliss! Stop straggling! Let's get a move on!" clapping her hands together, Tyuki would encourage her friend who had a bit too much to drink on the flight over here to get her butt in gear!
Tyuki was wearing her normal attire, a pair of stone washed skinny jeans, comfortable colorful sneakers, a graphic t shirt, and a loose mid-waist jean jacket over that. She had her hair up today, it pulled back into a ponytail. Her bangs were brushed off to the side, and she had freshly dyed the tips. She had been without proper hair care for almost a year, so getting some treatment done made her feel better. The blue tips weren't exactly edgy, but she liked them.
Grabbing all three of their bags, Tyuki would also grab Bliss and take off faster than Bliss was going. Tyuki would pack Bliss into the seat in a golf cart, their plane having landed them on the strip at the Thrones' Manor. The driver was a man for their little golf cart, but Tyuki had no intention of getting to know him. Stacking the bags in the back seat, Tyuki would then place herself next to the bags, leaning up to hold Bliss' hair.
"Step on it!" she ordered the driver, making sure Bliss wouldn't vomit on him, or herself.
"If you vomit, make sure you do it that way," she said, motioning toward the ground.
"We're almost thereeee!" She said, grinning excitedly. "You need to sober up, by the way. This isn't good. The letter said urgent, not take your time. I haven't seen my Aunt in like a year! Let's goooo." Annoyed with how long it was taking to get from the lower grounds to the main grounds, Tyuki scooped Bliss up as her wings unfurled from behind of her.
It ruined her shirt and jacket, but she wanted to get there faster.
"Miss!" the driver called out, but she was gone.
--
"We'll get to that, I promise." she said, writing down a few more things and then ending it in a sharp period.
"Bliss is more than just family. She's been by my side for many, many years. And more to come. You see, before I was foolish and bit off more than I could chew with Lucius Alba, I decided it was best to save my friend from certain death. Thus, I turned Bliss." shrugging slightly, she dipped her pen again and started to write down a few more things. Her penmanship was superb, definitely looking as if it were written by a master calligrapher. She had been writing for centuries, so it made sense that she was skilled with a pen.
Nathaniel would quirk an eyebrow in response to Michael's glance.
"This is news to me, brother. I've known of Bliss, but I had no idea Chelle had turned her." Sucking on the end of the clove cigarette, Nathaniel let a sigh escape his nose.
"And it's none of your business. I save who I must, and kill those who deserve to die. I bring balance to this world. And it seems to further balance it, I must go as well." Finishing her sentence both on paper and aloud, she placed her pen back into the inkwell.
"Michael, stand still." she commanded simply and stood herself up. As she did, the billowing layers of her gown hugged her midsection, showing that despite her frail state, she was a bit rounder around of her abdomen. It was subtle, maybe it could have been the fabric bunching up.
Lifting the sword, she unsheathed it and then slid the blade across her palm, drawing blood.
"Upon my death, this blade will become yours. I bestow Xian, the God Blade to you, Michael Krieger, my flesh and blood." The hilt of the blade would glow a brilliant crimson as the blood being drawn by Chelle would absorb into the blade.
She then motioned for Michael to do the same as she had, offering him the blade with both hands, the sheath being left on the desk.
Nathaniel kicked back and watched, a smirk on his face now. He had never seen his sister give away anything of her's. Nothing. And now, here she was, giving away her favorite sword. Of course, it wouldn't become Michael's until Chelle died, but that could happen any day now, right?

Re: Live Long Enough to Become the Hero
The life of Bliss came with many different trials and tribulations. Two nights ago, Bliss saved a bus full of kids from a radioactive traffic light, lauding her with praise from media outlets. The next day she needed a quick rescue from a mad scientist trying to turn the color red into green so he could unleash calamity upon busy intersections, thus leaving the great cities of America open for devastation. It did take Ashley busting up his lab, but his nefarious plans fell by the wayside like so many other poorly planned and constructed dealings.
And now, Bliss was morning drinking on a plane. While the drink came paid for by whatever means Tyuki paid for things with, Bliss soon found out air travel would do a number on her stomach. "Tooki. I'm gonna suck your blood." Bliss tried to stab Tyuki in the arm a few times with a straw, before befalling friendly fire to her own eye.
Bliss stepped off the plane in a blue plaid shirt with loose fitting jeans. Taking all the bags probably made Tyuki feel important, so Bliss felt fine with allowing her to fulfill her life's desire and accomplish her dreams. Her little, dumb dreams.
Just as Bliss pushed a pair of sunglasses over her eyes to block out the stupid sun, Tyuki grabbed Bliss like a bag. "Hey! I'm not luggage!" Tyuki then began to lecture Bliss without any sass. Just boring Tyuki trying to please everyone. "You haven't seen your aunt in a year because you disappeared for some reason or another. Did you tell your aunt where you were? Did Chelle what was so urgent I needed to be airlifted to- oh, oh here it comes."
Bliss pushed her bangs out of her face as she began to send a volley of vomit towards the ground.
On the grounds of the manor, one shadow slipped into another and before long, the shadows could form a more personal silhouette. With claws like razors, a smile with all the sincerity of a concealed knife, and a tangibility with the shifting properties of a shadow, Misaki Mae stepped towards the sound of crying coming from a familiar smell. It seemed Chelle kept Kitsune within her midst. Maybe not the most prudent, but a spirit none the less.
This girl would do her a great number of favors in hiding her true nature. "Hello little fox." Misaki stepped out from the shadows, launching shadows to subdue her prey. "This manor is far too small for the two of us, so I will need you to disappear for a moment. I hope you do not mind."

Re: Live Long Enough to Become the Hero
For a moment, Michael just stared at the blade, his eyes a mixture of confusion and anger, his brows furrowing slight, causing a crease to from between them. His mouth was agape as he struggled to find the words, before he finally let out a a small laugh. It wasn't out of humor or anything of that, more out of annoyance, confusion, and anger.
"Your blade? You think that is going to make up for having my only sister taken from me? We're just getting to know each other and now.."
He paused, gritting his teeth, as he slammed his fist downward, a jet of blue fire shooting up behind him before quickly dying down. His eyes were closed, deep slow breaths escaping from his nose. After a few moments, he bit his lower lip in thought before continuing.
"How did this happen? How much time do we have? If you're dying we need to prepare and.. and.. I.." He let out another deep sigh, falling back into his chair, rubbing his temples. "What do you want me to say here Chelle? Do you want me to be happy that you're giving me your sword? I mean, sure, it'll be nice to have a reminder of you. But I would rather have my older sister."
With a breath of finality, he stepped towards his sister, rising slowly from his chair. His hand clasped tightly around her sword, gripping with all of his strength. The metal of the blade bit into him, causing a deep cut to form on the palm of his hand, sending a stream of blood from it. The deep crimson liquid was quickly sucked up by the blade, followed by a flash of blue light as he pulled his undamaged hand from it's sharp surface.
"There, it's done. I think I need a drink.. or six.."

Re: Live Long Enough to Become the Hero
***
Anna would weep gently, her red kitsune ears bowing down to lay flat against her snow kissed hair. She stood down one of the servant corridors, her face buried into her arm as she leaned into the wall. She was too filled with sorrow to notice the ever linger monster coming nearer and nearer. It wasn't until the shadows enveloped her that she realized it was too late.
Darkness had won.
***
Chelle felt a pain in her chest for a brief second, but paid it no mind. It was normal these days, at least. However, had she been in a healthier state, that pain would have been a sign that someone she was linked to was in danger.
Batting her lashes, she smiled and clapped her hands together once.
"Good. Good, good. Now my mind will be at ease that this blade will go to someone worthy." Clapping her hands again, another servant girl appeared with a tray filled with all kinds of alcohol. It was a miniature bar, but it seemed to be endless. Magic was an amazing thing, after all.
"I believe we all need a drink. A deep red wine will be fine." Chelle said, her voice as smooth as silk. The girl would bow and produce a deep goblet, carrying it gracefully across the room to place it into Chelle's hands.
Grasping the cup, she would swirl the liquid around before taking a deep sip. Smacking her lips, she would wipe at the corner of her mouth. The wine, turns out, was actually warmed O negative. Carrying herself back to her seat, she would sit down and lift back up her pen, dipping it into the inkwell. Xian would hum as Chelle placed the goblet near to the blade. Sighing, she would take the cup and pour a bit of the blood onto the sword. As she did, the blade would absorb what was spilled onto it. A golden light would glide down the edge of the blade, Xian being sated for now.
"I think... I hear our niece." Chelle would comment, her melting amber eyes looking up from her parchment to see as flustered Tyuki carrying a semi-sober Bliss.
"I'm glad you two could make it." she said, offering a gentle smile.
"Now, where the HELL have you been?" anger became the Queen as she looked at Tyuki, a scowl across her face.
--
Tyuki rushed up the stairs, taking them two at a time. Sprinting down the hallway, her wings would pump every now and then, sending her forward quicker. Each pump was five feet added to her distance traveled. The hallways were large here at the manor, sure, but Tyuki's wingspan was not small enough to let her glide around the halls.
Skidding to a halt, she found herself in Chelle's office. A wide smile erupted over Tyuki's face as she let out a breath of exasperation.
"Hey! I made it!" She said, looking at her family members. She smiled at Nathaniel, Michael, and Chelle. However, as her eyes fell on Chelle, she felt the corners of her lips tug down into a frown. Clearing her throat, Tyuki sat Bliss down on a chair and shoved a trash can into her hands.
"I... uhm. I was finding myself. You of all people should understand what that means." Scoffing, Tyuki kicked at the Persian rug on the floor. A sigh rolled from her chest as she slumped her shoulders and just gave her Aunt a look of defeat.
"It's not like I was actually dead. You didn't think that, did you?" she asked, chuckling awkwardly.
Little did Tyuki know, there was something much, much worse going on with her small family. As she looked at everyone, her laughter died down. She realized how serious everyone's face was. Nathaniel was usually smoking a clove cigarette, and Michael always had something witty to say. But not this time... something was wrong.
"I may not... be the smartest... but... something's not right." Furrowing her brows, she walked over to her Aunt and held out her hands.
"What's going on?" she asked, not evening noticing the Will and Testament laid out on the large cherry desk.
Who was going to break the news to Tyuki?

"I can walk! I can walk! Tyuki! I'm going to actually suck your blood if you don't put. Me. Down!" Bliss tried to bite Tyuki so hard it would shatter the timespace continuum and send Tyuki's pretty face to Hell. It did not work, but Bliss showed real spunk in trying to bite Tyuki. Dumb Tyuki.
Tyuki took little time in shoving Bliss in a chair before giving her a trashcan. A very exquisite trashcan that most likely only held the most expensive trash available to mankind. Or, Bliss' vomit. "Yeah, she did just kinda lolbyebitch everyone for about a year to do some weird soul searching. I'm actually more disappointed than you are. I had to deal with Uzma being jealous of me for not failing as much as she does. Literally the worst." Bliss tossed the baller AF trashcan on the ground as she grabbed a goblet of grape crunk juice, preparing to become more crunk.
Bliss pseudo leaned over to Tyuki. "I mean something terrible could be happening." Bliss began downing more of the wine before lowering the goblet. "But, look at the guys she's with. I don't know what their happy faces look like, but I'm assuming it's like a degree away from what their faces look like now. Oh, and I know Iook like I'm trying to be discreet about this, but I know you two can hear me, and don't really give a fuck, because I have this. Done!" Bliss slammed the goblet, sitting back and rubbing her belly.
"Last time I got called in to this room was for some world threatening Dominus thing or something, so I assume something world threatening is happening again. Space demon? Asteroid? Climate Change?" Bliss looked over to Tyuki who looked like she was trying to put together three different puzzles into one super puzzle. "I'm guessing Tyuki wasn't sent just to make sure I got here safe, so whatever you're saying to me probably has some bearing on- oh that wine did not agree with me.

Re: Live Long Enough to Become the Hero
"Wait.." Michael said, furrowing his brows as he looked between his niece and sister, "She was missing? Well, glad to see this family hasn't lost it's ability to communicate. I would hate to think we don't talk anymore. And you, Miss Tyuki, somber mood or not there is no excuse for not hugging your uncles."
With a sigh, he ran a hand through his mess of black hair, before scratching at the back of his head. Crossing over to the bar, he pulled several cubes of ice out, before dropping them into a glass, listening to the slow clunking as they shifted into place. His fingers danced along the bottles in front of him, until he came across an aged scotch that fit his taste, and began to pour the liquid, before repeating the process for Nathaniel.
"As for what's going on, my dear niece, that would be best for your aunt to tell you I think. After all, she seems to be in the mood for dropping bombshells today." Handing a glass to his eldest brother, and taking a sip of his own, he continued. "All in the name of balancing the planet though, so don't worry, it's not for some silly goal that any of the numerous nameless peons running around in their stupid tights could accomplish. No, our dear Chelle must make the ultimate sacrifice, because only that, Tyuki, will balance everything."
The young cambion scoffed, shaking his head, his eyes not leaving the amber liquid in his glass. His eyes slowly moved after a moment, from Chelle, to Tyuki, to Nathaniel, and finally to the stranger in the room. To him, at least.
"But, apologies. I'm acting out of place in front of our guest. I suppose you have a lot to lose here to, what with my sister turning you and all. Now, my vampire blood is weak.. possibly non existent, never was quite sure whom she got those traits from. So, tell me, what happens to the one turned, when the person who turned them passes on? I can't imagine it's good."
Michael just kept shaking his head, doing his best to keep calm. Sarcasm, sass, jokes, this was how he dealt with things that were beyond him. And this situation, everything about it, was far beyond what he was ready to deal with. Tears still fell from his eyes, staining his cheeks wet, though the stream had slowed significantly.
"Just.. tell me what the fuck I'm suppose to do Chelle. I.. I'm so god damn lost right now."

Re: Live Long Enough to Become the Hero
Bliss' teeth would have shattered if she had tried to bite Tyuki any harder. It was like a baby trying to gum a rock. Using her foot, Tyuki would swipe the trashcan before it crashed into the ground, picking it up and then setting it down more gently.
"Can you, like, not?" grumbling under her breath, Tyuki felt as if she was babysitting a toddler. Maybe Lil' Bliss would be easier to take care of than this Bliss.
Blinking, she looked over to the door.
The cart of alcohol was not a good sign, and Tyuki made it her goal to swap out Bliss' drink for something else. Luckily for her, there was no grape crunk juice, but instead a purple colored alcohol that was like a stronger version of absinthe. Swapping it out for the water that was also present on the cart, Tyuki made sure Bliss did not pump more alcohol into her system.
The swap was just fast enough to confuse Bliss into thinking it was her idea, but smooth enough to make her actually drink the water. It was also cold, so it likely felt good going down in comparison to the burning of the stronger alcohol Bliss had been slugging back on their flight here. Stealing a whole case of the mini alcohol bottles was not easy, but Bliss was very crafty and capable of many, many things.
Once she was certain Bliss was finally sated with her goblet of water, Tyuki moved over to grab Michael and give him a big squeeze, being sure to lift him up off the ground as she did.
"Yeah, I was dealing with a few things, but I'm doing better now. Nothing like getting your wings crushed to really give you a wake up call on life." offering Michael a smile, she pecked his cheek and then felt Nathaniel's arms.
Her oldest 'uncle,' which was really her great-times-five grandfather, was the tallest out of all of them. He towered at six feet and five inches! Swooping Tyuki up, he flipped her around and gave her a big bear hug before letting her plop back down, trading his niece for a nice glass of scotch.
All five feet and five inches of Tyuki stood with a big smile on her face until she let her eyes fall back onto her Aunt Chelle.
Her smile faded and was replaced with a solemn scowl. Michael had just said a few things that did not sound very good.
---
Chelle would sit quietly, her eyes watching thoughtfully as Tyuki made sure to take care of Bliss, carefully giving her friend a glass of water instead of more alcohol. A soft smile would tug at her lips as Bliss insisted on downing the glass in one hefty gulp.
"Well, no. It is not an asteroid, or climate change, or anything world threatening. At least, I do not believe it to be so." she would say, her voice trailing off as she looked over toward Michael who had seemed to calm down just a bit.
"Tyuki, Bliss..." Chelle would say, her voice commanding, yet endearing.
"Yeah? I mean, yes?" the young girl would stammer, trying her best to remember how to use manners.
"I am dying." she said, offering a small smile in hopes to ease the situation. There was no way to sugar coat it at this point.
Tyuki looked as if she had seen a ghost. The girl would gasp, a hand flying to cover her mouth before she shook her head.
"No! That's... you're kidding?" Tyuki said, immediately rushing toward her Aunt.
As Tyuki moved forward, a pair of beautiful ivory wings would spread out behind of her and her inky black hair would bleed away becoming a matching porcelain. The emerald green hues of her eyes would soon match her sclera, the milky white glowing a bright iridescent golden hue.
Tyuki's hand would manifest with the same iridescent energy, her hands moving to wrap around of her Aunt's face, holding onto her gently.
"I will not let you die." determination welled up inside of Tyuki at this very moment.
It was as if the world was crashing around of her, and all she wanted to do was try her best. The room would begin to fill with love, and happiness. It was infectious, the love pouring out of Tyuki and into her beloved family member. It was as if all the energy she tried to pour into Chelle would be blocked from entering her.
Chelle would feel a warmth against her skin, but at her core, she felt colder than usual.
"My darling niece... I wish it were that simple," she said, moving a hand to rest against one of Tyuki's own.
"But it is not... I have tried it all." pulling away from the healing hands of her niece, Chelle would kiss both palms gently before easing them down to Tyuki's sides.
As she did, Tyuki's eyes would fade back to normal, tears streaming down her face as her lips curled into a heavy frown.

Re: Live Long Enough to Become the Hero
Bliss tossed her goblet to Tyuki. It almost felt like downing water it went down so smoothly. But that is what it means to be crunk. And Bliss felt invincible. Almost as invincible as Chelle.
Then, that dumb ho dropped a truth bomb. Right to the heart of crunk.
Tyuki began crying, then getting angry at a circumstance, then crying more. Bliss kept starring at the wall while everyone else at the symposium on Chelle's certain demise offered up condolences.
Bliss burst out into laughter. Falling back in her chair, unable to keep her head up. She put her finger up, trying to get a word in, but Bliss failed to muster up enough air from her cackling in order to say what she needed. "Okay, okay, hold on." Bliss continued to laugh. "So, first off...this is the complete opposite response than what...I...uh, intend to give. So, let's try it again."
With her fist against her chest, Bliss tried breathing away the laughter. It made her laugh more. "So, Chelle is dying, and this is sad laughter. Okay?" Bliss started to cough from the raw traction against her trachea. "Yeah, yeah, I'm super sad right now. Like, really sad."
Bliss stood up under her own weight and tried to keep her back straight. "Hey, I guess Chelle isn't the only woman dying in this room right now! Right Tyuki? Want to help a bitch out, slut?"
