Just kidding. Dante van der Bliksem is a man of many masks. Naturally, he is quick to anger, and puts up with no “shenanigans”. However, this part of himself is often hidden behind his professional countenance of infinite patience (only broken when it serves a purpose to do so) and serenity. Even while torturing a hapless detainee, his composure will not break, giving the impression that he takes a sadistic joy in it. Unfortunately, this is not the case; he finds little happiness now, and would have stopped living long ago were it not for the passionate drive that fuels him-the urge to purge society of its impurities, big and small.

History:

For several generations, the Medici were the ruling family in Florence, either economically, politically, or, for some time, both. Four Medici even rose to claim the political and religious title of Holy Roman Pope. The Medici are, undoubtedly, one of the most influential families in European history. In the year 1961, Marcia Angeline Di Natale, a descendant of the House of Medici, was born in Tuscany, Italy.

The House of Bourbon and House of Orange-Nassau are two of the largest and most influential royal houses in European history. A marriage between the two was bound to happen eventually, though not for political gain, as would be expected. A Duke of Orange-Nassau and the second cousin to the heiress of the House of Bourbon wed, and produced four children, only one of whom survived to adulthood. In the year 1959, Frederick Wilhelm van der Bliksem was born in Utrecht, Netherlands.

The two grew up separately, never interacting, never knowing the other existed. Marcia was a rather successful actress, starring in several Italian films, and playing the supporting role in two American dramas. Frederick amassed quite a fortune for himself, owning and operating the fourth largest shipping empire in the world during his time, and dealing in oil, real estate and film production.

While filming a documentary in Holland, Marcia was introduced to the already married Frederick. He soon adopted her as his mistress, and within a few months, his wife. A child was conceived, and born in the year 1984, Christened Dante Harald van der Bliksem.

The child grew up happy and content until the age of four, at which point his formal education and training began. His father sought someone to take over the “Empire”, and as such raised Dante to be the epitome of a Renaissance man. From the time he could talk it was apparent the child was a genius, showing great promise in the artistic fields, and quickly grasping any subject put before him. At the age of six he began taking various forms of martial arts, excelling at these as well.

By fifteen, Dante had already graduated from Yale, with degrees in political science and molecular, cellular and developmental biology. The next two years he spent performing independent studies throughout the world, and it was during this time that he wrote the first of many books to come, The Tenth Ring.

When this two year period ended, van der Bliksem obtained a (highly recommended) enrollment at the U.S. Naval Academy. At twenty-one he graduated, moving quickly through the military ranks, aided by his physical and mental gifts, as well as his father’s influence with certain members of the United States Government. Making exceptions for Dante’s obvious skill at leading others and for military strategy, he was promoted to the rank of Captain at the extremely young age (for such a position) of thirty.

For four years he served his nation proudly, until the day his father was slain by an escaped Metahuman convict. His mother was not physically harmed, but suffered severe emotional trauma from the encounter, and so, as the only legally competent beneficiary, Dante inherited his entire family fortune, totaling just short of one trillion dollars, making him one of the richest men alive. By the end of the year, he had taken an early retirement, and, placing his mother in the “Nicest” mental health facility in the world, set about on his path to become one of the world’s most foremost anti-Metahuman (individual) units.

The Powers

Power 1:Perfect human-Dante has the perfect body, and mind, at least for a human. His strength matches, or slightly exceeds, that of Olympians of the highest prowess. When running he can reach a top speed of roughly forty miles an hour, keeping pace with a running horse, though at this speed he can run for but a few minutes, before having to slow down. Dante’s body can go for approximately forty eight hours without food, and sixteen without water, before it begins to feel the strain, and he can go for longer, though it would be discomforting. His skin and muscles are rock-hard (figuratively), and can take severe damage (by human standards) before he must stop.

Dante is, by definition, a genius, his mind far surpasses that of a plebeian, even that of a patrician (((reeeeeally bad history joke there))).He can perform astronomical (as an figurative adjective) calculations within seconds, and thought processes that would give a normal man an aneurysm are all that he knows. Well learned as well, van der Bliksem is knowledgeable in everything from ancient battle tactics, to classic Sumerian literature, to theoretical physics and beyond. When it comes to languages, he speaks numerous, including English, he also speaks Spanish, French, Russian, Japanese, Urdu, Vietnamese, Swahili, Portuguese and three Chinese dialects fluently, as well as a smattering in several other languages, and can read/write in a half dozen more.

His Reflexes far surpass those of the normal person, though still not quite well enough to be considered superhuman. After years of rigorous training (near daily since the age of five), he has mastered a plethora of martial arts forms, and combined them all to make his own fighting style that he calls Fomu Wengi. These include Muay Thai, Sanshou, Wing Chun, Bokator, Bartitsu, Bakom, Dambe and Okichitaw. (4 DUR, 4 STR, 4 SPD, 4 INT, 8 FS)
