SPP (Super Powered People) Empty SPP (Super Powered People)

Post by Tinkerer October 30th 2013, 12:03 am

Okay, superheroes are awesome.  This we can agree on.  As a youth I had a much greater fervor for superheroes and a deeper sense as to why there are no superheroes in real life.  My conclusion was that there ARE superheroes in real life... and thus my universe was born.

I: HISTORY

Superheroes are not that old.  In fact, superheroes have only been around for roughly 2400-3000 years.  Two "Beings" known only as Arrish and Krayak began a chess-like game where the battleground was the universe.  These "Beings", for want of a better term, were "Creators" and created the first SPPs with crystals they spread to different planets in the universe.

The crystals were called pemalyte and rolyte.  Pemalyte was an extremely rare light blue crystal created by Arrish while rolyte was a more common bright red crystal created by Krayak.  At first, things seemed to work out.  The first few SPPs created by touching the crystals kept their powers on the down low, or never made any attempt to be overly blatant with their powers...

That is, until the Titans.

The Titans were so overt with their power that it was noted and their story was passed through the ages.  The Titans generally presided in what is known as ancient Greece.  Even for SPPs, the Titans were known to have powers well beyond those who opposed them.  At this point, almost all the SPPs who lived in Europe were hunted down and wiped out by the Titans who claimed Earth for their own.

And so they lived...

Until the Olympians, children of Cronus (Leader of the Titans) overthrew them.  Like their parents, the Olympians held immense power and used it.  Though they did not suppress the people like the Titans, they demanded worship and lorded over the people like gods.  This is the way they were seen for thousands of years, gods, instead of as super powered people.  They lived through the era of ancient Greece until Rome took over.  The Olympians were overthrown by the multitude of SPPs moving east with the Roman army.  And so they too were defeated.

But their children spread.  Now, history is filled with mythology of such heroes and god-like beings.  But whereas they were perceived as gods or demigods, they were simply SPPs with a plethora of different powers.  So what happened?  SPPs didn't disappear from existence after a few centuries, right?  Shouldn't there still be SPPs around?  Correct, and there are.  Except, by LAW, they must try to remain hidden from us humans.

After the Olympians were defeated, Arrish and Krayak came to a mutual agreement that Earth was a special location, a planet to be excluded from their chess match.  To ensure this, they set a stone inscribed with set laws regarding SPP-kind, Earth, and the general presence of the greater universe.  By breaking the laws willingly and thoroughly, the stone would strike the SPP with the full power of Arrish and Krayak, killing them instantly and wiping their existence from the face of the universe.  To further ensure the Earthly laws were followed, an SPP council of Earth was set up and made to preside.

All this occurred on Earth.  However, such things were not necessary on a lot of other planets with SPPs, though they were not excluded from the laws set by Arrish and Krayak.  Alien SPPs exist and they too have been to Earth, however they also have to keep themselves on the down low.

To help SPPs do this, the Creators granted SPPs the power to be "overlooked" by mankind.  Simply, if SPPs don't want to be seen, they won't be.  But they have to put in a conscious effort to reveal themselves to humans.  This "reveal" is also a super power, so they cannot blatantly just appear/disappear in front of humans without breaking the law as well.

(So ends the description of the ancient past... If there are any questions, any obvious holes in the story, feel free to post.  I dunno what I should write about my universe next... maybe the fact that even though I keep referring to it as a universe, everyone lives only within a half-universe.  scratch)

SPP (Super Powered People) Empty My first SPPs (pokemon and tekken references included!)

II: Entrance of the Master Teacher

SPPs have been kept hidden from this world for centuries, millennia.  It was simply luck that I happened to be the only human gifted with the abilities to see.

Though this version of the universe was created by me, I believed with all my heart and soul that it was true.  As such, there needed to be some reason that acknowledged the fact that I could see and hear SPPs while the rest of the human populace remained ignorant of their existence.  The answer was simple.  An SPP had accidentally revealed his true form to me and I, I saw.

At the time I first learned of SPP existence, a rolyte-user by the name of Eddie Gordo (yes, yes, I know.  I was young and couldn't come up with good cool names on my own, sue me) was on the verge of amassing enough SPP thugs and minions in order to leave the Earth and establish himself on a planet of his own choosing.  At the time, this was catastrophic.  His army totaled a force in the thousands (an unheard-of total when it came to SPP armies, seeing as SPPs would rather fight solo or in small teams rather than be bunched into a greater whole).  As such, a pemalyte-powered group of heroes known as GlobEZ made it their personal duty to stop Eddie Gordo and his plan.  The group chased him all over earth, stopping recruitments, destroying hideouts, and busting his plans time after time.  That said, some of these plans were not easy to stop, and once, the entire team had to use their full power to stop Eddie Gordo.

This was when I saw them.  The five members of GlobEZ.  Volcanotree the palm tree SPP with a fiery personality.  Rockmonstercrack a stone-man the size of shaq whose attack puts cracks in golems' backs.  Three-Pedibirds a three headed bird who runs faster than his spoken word (okay, I admit it, three-pedibirds was a complete rip-off of dodrio from pokemon).  Dipum Doctor a sphere whose healing care fixes mortal wounds without flare.  Nobody the SPP whose mighty icy strike freezes those strong and weak alike.  The five members who unintentionally revealed themselves to a human child (I was four at the time) and could not take back their action.

The five were not punished.  In fact, no one realized that I was aware of SPP existence.  However, things greatly changed for me.  Now, as I looked out the window, I could see SPP combat.  I could even influence it!  I would take great pleasure in walking in the midst of brawling SPPs and watch as they attempted to avoid hitting me with their blows.  Again, they may have been invisible to the populace of earth, but they could still be affected with blows and other SPP moves such as earthquakes and floods.  In fact, it wasn't until at least half a year later that I was noticed...

(ah, it feels good to write and let my old story out!  I will end it off here, even though there is still a ways to go before I get to the "Master Teacher" part.  Hope you like it so far and again, any questions or comments, feel free to reply!  As for the first chapter, I know it looks rushed and poorly written, but I just wanted to get the basic stuff down.  It was more a preface than anything and simply gave a basic understanding of who Arrish and Krayak are, where pemalyte and rolyte came from, and why there aren't superheroes running rampant in real life.  As it is, I believe it gives a decent enough explanation of such things.)

SPP (Super Powered People) Empty PURE TERROR!!!

Post by Tinkerer December 12th 2013, 1:15 am

(Stupid finals... Ah, well might as well kill some time and write some more more of this story! Yay procrastination!)

II: Entrance of the Master Teacher (cont.)

It's been millennia since Arrish and Krayak made the laws dictating the "special condition" of Earth.  As it is, it made Earth a somewhat less popular planet as well as prevented the more "kill-happy" SPPs from residing here.  However, Krayak quickly grew impatient as he realized that Earth was a safe-haven for many of Arrish's "pawns".  It also became increasingly difficult for him to establish his own SPPs on Earth.  So Krayak put his queen into play.

From the burning desires of his heart, the creator began shaping a being that transcended SPPs.  Born from darknesse, Krayak created this being to be his ultimate champion, an avatar of himself.  This being he gave the title "Harakaka" a word that roughly translates to pure, unfettered terror.

...Then he sent the being into the universe...

Now, though Krayak is known as a being of evil, that is not truly accurate.  He is actually a being of emotion and hidden desire unleashed.  That said, it is unfortunate but most people, even those on other planets and even less intelligent life forms, have the desire to become more powerful.  A small part of oneself doesn't even mind gaining this power at the expense of others.  That small part of the human mind, the human soul, is what Krayak embodies.  He is a being who is driven by that unquenchable lust for power.

Harakaka is a lesser version of Krayak himself.  Like its master, Harakaka is commonly associated with evil.  Unlike its master, this is actually very accurate.  Krayak make Harakaka embody all negative emotion with a small portion of the positive emotion of love.  This was actually very clever on Krayak's part because the love emotion spreads thinly over all the other aspects he infused into Harakaka meaning it is not truly evil and cannot be naturally converted to "good".  Harakaka, like Krayak, is also invincible, indestructible, and (until Arrish and Krayak finish their game) immortal.

However, Harakaka is not a truly living being.  Harakaka is not male nor female. It does not have any bodily needs (including rest, food, and drink which even SPPs need).  It does not utilize any kind of energy that exists within this universe (meaning that its body is "internally powered" of some kind of energy that must have come from the creators' realm).  Interestingly, Harakaka is not exactly an SPP either since it doesn't appear to have power on its own.  So what is Harakaka?

The simplest way to describe Harakaka would be that it is a robot, built exclusively to do Krayak's bidding.  However, this too does not describe it fully.  Harakaka has thoughts and it definitely has emotions, but because of its love for Krayak, it does not really wish to do anything if it wasn't backed by Krayak's orders.  Occasionally, Harakaka would go off and destroy a solar system (or ten) without order, but those times are few and far between.  Hence, Harakaka is just Krayak's "living" weapon of mass destruction.

This killing machine Krayak built for the exclusive purpose of destroying planets he finds...troublesome.  This brings us back to Earth, where Krayak's lack of influence and the plethora of Arrish's SPPs made it a viable target for Harakaka.  And so he sent Harakaka to Earth.

Now, Harakaka is technically unbeatable and his "power" to produce and control a mysterious plant called darkness oak (which saps SPPs of their power) meant that it could never be directly opposed by SPPs.  Also the energy inside Harakaka's body is such that if it presses its finger into a planet, the force of it will destroy the planet.  As such, Harakaka never needed to rush whenever it was told to do something since it would eventually get done.

So Harakaka appears on Earth.........right outside my house.

GlobEZ attempted to stop it... and failed.  Going outside, I was not entirely sure what I was doing, but I managed to touch Harakaka and touch my forehead.  There was pain, my eyes rolled in their sockets as my head felt like it burst open, all I could remember was darkness, and terror.  I gaped, trying to breathe, but I couldn't.  My skull felt like it was being drilled and dark tendrils swarming into it.  The black terror changed to red as the pain peaked... then everything stopped.

I saw nothing.  I was on the ground.  I opened my eyes and a lovely blue filled my vision.  It was beautiful.  It was lovely.  It was--

"Hello?"

A voice in my head?

And thus, I, the Master Teacher, was born.

(I hope this part wasn't too tedious.  The next part will go into detail about what this voice was and what exactly I am.  As always, if there are any questions feel free to ask! I can't promise I'll get to it quickly, but I try to answer it.  Oh, one last thing.  I know I said this whole thing I came up with as a child, but it is actually an evolving story, as I answer my own questions, it ties the universe together more and more!)

SPP (Super Powered People) Empty Guess who's back?!

Post by Tinkerer November 3rd 2014, 1:34 am

(Wow, tis been WAY too long since I last came to this website!  However, now that I'm here, I guess I could kill some time and write more since I'm in that mood)

III: Grade "A" hero

"My name is Br- Oceanus" the voice told me.

As my vision began to clear, in my mind's eye, I saw a distinct image of a young man, strikingly majestic and dangerous at the same time.  He was a predator, carrying himself with an heir of confidence and power.  And yet... as I saw him I saw... emptiness, a hollowness in his strength that showed his full and complete potential.

I had gained the power of the Creators, Arrish and Krayak.

Harakaka, as I've stated before, is basically Krayak's embodiment within the universe.  Though indestructible and unbeatable, it needed limitations, otherwise it could be a threat to the Creators themselves.  As such, Krayak gave Harakaka a weakness.  Though unable to be beaten, Harakaka has the ability to be contained.  The consciousness of Harakaka could be sealed within a living, sentient being... at a cost.  The cost of sealing Harakaka away is that, unless one's mind is strong enough to hold back Harakaka's consciousness, it could take over and possess the body of the container.  The body would gain Harakaka's abilities, but also Harakaka's complete mind.  In that state, it is nearly impossible to fight back.

As a human, all I would be able to do would be contain Harakaka for a couple minutes before he took me over and continue Krayak's work through me... that is, unless an SPP willingly surrendered their consciousness into me in order to keep a check on Harakaka and ensure complete containment.

This is where, ah, "Ocean" came in.

As I was recovering from the near-possession, Ocean explained this to me and that because I was able to see SPPs and have a mentality to be able to contain Harakaka, I must have an extraordinary amount of potential.  He, as an SPP, would help contain Harakaka and lend me his abilities.  In exchange, he wanted to keep himself in my head so we could both learn and grow from each other.

Finally, I spoke back to him, "thinking" words aloud so that he would hear.  "Your name isn't 'Ocean', is it?" I asked.

Surprise flitted across his face.  As his mind was in my mind, in order for us to work together to contain Harakaka, we'd had to meld consciousnesses (albeit briefly) in order to gain the control necessary to shut it down.  That said, I could read his thoughts fairly easily.  "No, I am not." he finally replied.  "My name is Breeze, and I.. I am a coward." he said, his glamor fading a bit in my head.

"Coward?"

"I am a low ranked SPP.  I came to Earth in order to find someone to help me, hide me, or help me become stronger.  Someone, someone is hunting me."

As he stated this, the picture of Breeze blurred a little, and in his place stood an older, grander man whose face reminded one of an old, battle-scarred lion.  This older man stared at my mind's eye and I felt a shiver run down my back when Breeze looked at me through the eyes of the golden man.  Their eyes were exactly the same and understanding flooded me.

"Your...dad?  You are afraid of.. your dad?" I asked, and as I said it, the image of Breeze's father faded and Breeze broke eye contact with me again.

"Strange, huh?  However, in my household it is kill or be killed.  I saw my father kill my grandfather, say something about a curse, and tell him that I would die next.  I only managed to escape with my life, though it was completely accidental.  I was five."

A humming silence.  Being young myself, I could not comprehend the scope and magnitude of what he was saying, but he had helped me and would continue to help me with Harakaka.  I decided to trust him and I opened my mind to his full access and he did the same to me.  We bonded as one unit and became something new, something that neither of us would have experienced or achieved on our own.

(gosh, I'm tired.  Diving back into this at midnight is probably not the best idea.  Maybe I'll post the rest of this later? As always, if there is anything you want to know in particular, make a comment and I'll prioritize that before jumping back into the story!)
