A Dip in the OCEAN (Sai/OCEAN only)

Rumors of an international smuggling ring based in South America had been circulating for a few months and Zoom had taken it upon himself to come and investigate. They were apparently a group of criminals who smuggled illegal weaponry to whoever had the highest cheque and had no loyalties. They had been responsible for numerous attacks and conflicts and as such Zoom had taken it upon himself to come and investigate. He hadn't however, anticipated the heat of the area, having grown up in the wild and unpredictable climate of Melbourne he wasn't used to the tropical atmosphere of the Amazon. It didn't exactly help that his primary power involved running at speeds of 550mph.

He was sweating profusely under his costume and wishing that he had some kind of tropical variant, he'd have to work on that later. But at that very moment he was moving with incredible speeds through the heavily forested area towards what he'd worked out was the base of the smugglers. He'd heard that they actually had some Metahuman assistance so he was going to approach with caution...or charge in head first and simply hope they didn't have anything that could blow him up. He could heal pretty much anything. But his limit was when part or all of his body was totally destroyed. Who could restore themselves from something like that?

Suddenly stopping Zoom would skid for a few seconds before coming to a halt barely hidden behind a layer of cover and stare. Two ethnic men holding assault rifles were positioned out the front of what seemed to be some kind of temple. It was evidently their base of operations as not many tourists came dressed in camoflague while carrying military grade weaponry. Or came this deep into the jungle at all. Crouching down Zoom would suddenly dart to the side of himself before circling around and then suddenly charging the unsuspecting guards from their right. He would sprint past them in a flash and they would suddenly find themselves without ay kind of weapons at all which would cause them to stare down at their hands dumbly. After this Zoom would charge back and knock out the one closest to him with a powerful punch before delivering a kick to the other one's stomach and a chop to the back of his neck.

Zoom knew he was screwed when THIRTY men came out with fully automated weapons in hand. He could probably handle them, but he'd come out with more then a few bullet wounds and he wasn't really willing to test the limits of his Metahuman healing abilities. With a sigh he would brace himself for one hell of a fight when suddenly a blast of what seemed to be...plasma? Hit one of the men square on dissolving his flesh and causing him to fall to the ground with a scream, now nothing more than a charred body with only a few flecks of blackened skin hanging on his otherwise totally red body. Sickening, but effective. More blasts would follow and Zoom would look towards exactly where the blasts originated from, only to see a figure leap out of the trees.

The elegance they fought with was unparalleled and Zoom could've stood there all day watching them cleave through the opposition with their blade, blood spurting into the air. Suddenly the figure was standing with him, armed smugglers all around them. It was at this point he realized that the figure was in fact, a woman. Smirking at her introduction Zoom would look around at the men still remaining with a more optimistic view. However he still had virtually no idea as to who this woman was or what she was aiming to do. Was she a hero or a villain or perhaps some kind of vigilante seeking justice? It was difficult to tell and Zoom didn't want to work it out. "Maybe I can find it in my heart to forgive you for just saving me. Maybe." Zoom would jokingly say as he stared down the men.

"Just try not to slow me down." He would say with a slight chuckle before sprinting towards the man opposite him at speeds that could not be achieved by any normal human or many methaumans. The blow delivered to the man's face would undoubtably dislocate his jaw and send him flying. Then, using the momentum of his right hook Zoom would pivot on his foot and deliver a powerful kick to the jaw of the other man's face thus sending him flying backwards unconscious. Standing up straight Zoom would decide to go for deadly force in response to the woman's liberal attitude to death and grab the next man by the neck before promptly breaking said bone.

Zoom watched as the woman effortlessly mowed down more guards without a second thought, running her blade through them. It was almost like an elegant dance. With a smirk and a feeling of slight adrenaline Zoom would decide to up his game. "Heh, well you did just intrude on me. But I suppose it would be impolite not to thank you." Zoom would respond with a tip of a non existent hat. As he looked up once more he noticed a small group of militia running off in a desperate attempt to flee into the woods "I've got it." Zoom said as he sprinted towards them two men and one woman before jumping up into the air and delivering a powerful kick to the back of the head of the one in the middle.

Before the two could even hope to move Zoom would straighten up and smash their skills together resulting in an audible crack before they both fell to the ground with faces damaged beyond repair and blood streaming down their faces. They were clearly dead and ere was no hope of them even being remotely alive. Sprinting forward once more he would return to where he had been standing just in time to break the neck of the one remaining guard. They fell to the ground and Zoom looked down at him before feeling a hand on his shoulder and he knew it was his knew found companion. "I heard rumors that an international weapon smuggling ring were stationed here and decided to investigate. Turns out the rumors were true. Locals know more than people give them credit for." Zoom said casually as he ignored the countless dead bodies around him. "I also heard rumors of Metahuman involvement an decided to come and investigate. And possibly beat the living daylight out of this mystery Metahuman." Zoom explained. "And yourself?"

"Weapons, they sell them to anyone with the money."Zoom would explain before raising an eyebrow at the suggestion that his newfound companion could actually be the Metahuman he was searching for, it was possible although from what he'd heard they'd been heavily involved in the smuggling operation. However his main sources were primitive villagers so it was possible they'd misinterpreted the situation, unless she'd suddenly gone rogue and attacked the entirety of the people working for her. Unlikely, but not unheard of. Just as he was about to respond he heard her add on the last part and suddenly the whole thing became much more complicated. Did she enjoy pain, was that why she had done this? It was difficult to tell so Zoom went into what he normally did, treat the whole thing as a joke.

[color=#3366ff]["Oh no, I wouldn't dream of beating the living day lights out of you, I'm not np entirely sure that I could!"/color] Zoom said with a slight laugh before his face would settle into a more serious expression. "Unless you're involved in all of this. I will not abide a villain running freely as long as there is breath in my body. The normal humans may have their faults but they deserve better than tyrants." Zoom said before a broad grin appeared on his face. "But that shouldn't be a problem now should it?"

Zoom smirked and turned his head gradually towards the mysterious woman. "Heh, I'm fine with you taking the weapons. Just as long as you use them for good. If you used them to intentionally hurt innocents or anyone without provocation I'd need to hunt you down. But they don't belong to anyone in particular, they're essentially the middle man of the weapon transactions. But they've sold weapons to people who've done horrendous things." Zoom would explain in response to the woman's remark. He would then smirk once more. "It'll be fun to beat the living day lights out of you. Or be completely decimated. We'll have to see." Zoom explained.

"Yeah, it's generally bad for business to brutally murder those who work under you." Zoom replied as she circled him. While this was happening he would cross his arms and wait for her to finish her rotation. "Well if you"43 done checking me out then I guess we can continue." Zoom would say jokingly. Had it been a subtle joke about some kind of romantic feelings. Or merely a coincidence. Zoom gave no hint. "We could do to sharpen our skills. But I really don't want to end up like those sorry losers over there." Zoom said as he motioned to the horrifically multilated corpses that remained of the militia. "Speaking of which, where can I get me one of those guns. They look pretty useful." Zoom would say with a slightly maddened glint in his eyes. This woman was like no one he had ever met. She was more sadistic, she enjoyed the thrill of the hunt. For the first time Zoom began to feel a kinship towards another Metahuman. It was difficult to explain but Zoom recognized it. He was eager to see how the encounter would pan out.

"Heh, yes they do say that don't they. I suppose it's just part of human nature to be paranoid. If something's a danger keep an eye on it and then kill it the first chance you get. Basic survival instinct." Zoom said chuckling. Before raising an eyebrow at her next statement. "Once again, basic survival instinct. Know what you're dealing with." Zoom explained with an almost jovial tone to his voice. After she suggested that they should follow the fleeing soldiers Zoom nodded and began a painstakingly slow walk. To any normal person it would have been a brisk pace but for Zoom he might as well have been standing still. But for someone who could act a super speeds and run at incredible speeds it was torture. Waiting was the super weakness of those with super speed. They couldn't stand it, or at least Zoom couldn't, everyone was so frustratingly slow. He knew he could s everything quicker but he was too polite to point it out.

After what seemed like an eternity the two of them reached the makeshift stronghold and Zoom crossed his arms. He was ready to knock some heads after his tortuous walk. Cracking his neck he would look down at the area trying to work out how to get in. He knew he could break his way through the wall with no issue but he wasn't entirely sure what type of artillery they had control of. Suddenly however a broad grin would spread across his face. "Heh, I think I've found our way inside." Zoom said with what was almost glee. "They essentially built one giant fire hazard. And if their houses and base being burnt to a cinder doesn't lead them out, nothing will." Zoom explained to his apparent partner. "And, we're isolated enough that if any weapons are detonated it won't harm any innocents. He would finish, quite content with his plan. "All we need now is a means to light the fire."

"That works." Zoom said before promptly shrugging and looking down as the flames travelled, all too quickly, towards the walls before suddenly the defense of the fort became its greatest liability. Some perceptive individual would notice the flames and shout out but it was far too late. By the time people began to emerge from their houses and attempt to do something about it things had already progressed too far. Flames ate at the village and began to travel around and soon nearly half the village would be aflame. It was almost beautiful in its own morbid, twisted way. Zoom would suddenly announce, "Let's get down there shall we?" to the woman before a grin would suddenly spread across his face. "Race ya." he would say before suddenly sprinting off leaving nothing but a faint speed trail behind him.

It was childish he knew, but he needed an outlet for his frustrations at being slowed down for such a period. That being said he wasn't travelling at full speed, nowhere near it. He wanted to give the woman at least a chance. He didn't know her abilities in terms of speed or any real physical abilities and as such wanted to test them. He was sitting at a solid 100mph and heading down the hill quickly. He didn't want to reach the village too quickly as he was hoping for some kind of resistance among the utter carnage.

"Right you are." Zoom would say with a slight chuckle before sprinting down the hill. His speed was easily his strongest attribute and both a blessing and a curse. He had never asked for it, yet he had received it. It was merely a coincidence that he'd taken those supplements. That they'd transformed him into a Metahuman. But all that was irrelevant now. All that mattered was finishing what he'd started not very long ago. Totally destroying this smuggling ring. By the time he'd reached the entrance the flames had well and truly hit their stride and the heat was sweltering. It truly hit Zoom as he stood at the gate somehow entranced by the sheer heat and morbid beauty of the burning village. As he stood there marveling at the sight he barely managed to notice a group of soldiers running towards him, foreign weapons in hand.

Unsure of what they did Zoom decided to get out of the way, a sudden dash to the side and he was standing near the edge of the path leading towards the village. It was definitely a good move. If he hadn't moved the beam of pure plasma that was shot from the weapon would have hit him square on. He was unsure of the consequences but he reasoned that they would probably do something along the lines of the weapons the woman used. Zoom had what he considered to be quite a powerful healing factor but he didn't really want to test whether he could heal totally charred flesh. It looked pretty painful and fatal. By this point his newfound partner had nearly reached the entrance and a cocky grin would cross Zoom's face. They were ready to kick ass and take names. But mainly the former.

Suddenly Zoom would take off from the spot he had been standing in and strike the guard in the centre, a man with a bulky build square in the face sending him flying before charging to the side and pushing the guard on the left of him, a relatively short woman directly to the ground face first resulting in an audible crack before he would suddenly straighten his legs and sprint away just in time to evade various blasts of plasma. "Your move." he announced as he sprinted a few metres behind the woman with the mysterious weaponry.
