32 flavors of chaos

Salone arched an eyebrow at Artemis walking into the house naked as a jaybird and snatching Hanna from her. She didn’t mind the snatching of the small human (as Artemis had developed an unhealthy snuggling the baby human complex that couldn’t be helped) but rather the fact she was naked and she had dragged a strange being into her home. The kid looked to be about 17 and he looked faintly alarmed at he was in a strange house.
“Artemis?” Salone questioned, turning to look at her friend, “Why-“

"Oh someone might of followed me home, he was hungry and we have plenty of meat so I offered."

“Well, that we do have,” Salone agreed, moving over and taking Hanna from Artemis. “But in this house there is a rule that THOU SHALT WEAR CLOTHING. As for feeding him, I was just about to make dinner. “ The Time Collector sighed and then turned to the teenager. He seemed friendly enough but the dragon side of her seemed to not like him very much. If there was an invisible dragon that was the size of the dogs, she would be pacing back and forth snarling, baring fangs, and debating on a point of attack. However, this dragon was weaker than her human and time collector mentality so instead she smiled.

“You are welcome to stay, just make sure you don’t let Artemis bully you too much.” Salone returned the six month old to her swing before walking back over to the kitchen part of the front room. It was evenly split between front room and kitchen, which was rather nice so Salone could keep an eye on the bouncing baby.

“So what is your name kid?” Salone asked, pulling a hunk of deer from her fridge. She had cut off all the gnawed on bits by Artemis, so it was nice and clean cut. After covering it in a array of spices, put it in a pot and stuck it in the oven. Then Salone offered the teenager a cupcake.

Once Hanna was plucked from her arms Artemis walked to her room defeated. "I don't need clothes to go hunting!" yelled Artemis from her room. She threw on some animal skins before shuffling out of the room, followed by two jumping dogs. She noticed Penny wasn't here, which was strange for this time of night.

"Where is Penny?" asked Artemis. She snagged a cupcake from the collection while Salone was distracted with what's his face. He never did tell her his name. Artemis stared sadly at the hunk of meat in the oven, she still didn't get why they had to freeze it, now they had to wait for it. But to be fair when it is cooked it is really good. She finished up her cupcake and returned to playing with Hanna, taking her out of the swing and onto the ground. She turned into her wolf form and lied around Hanna, who was now pulling and teething on her ears.

Michael looked around, a woman took note of him and then turned to Artemis, acting as if this were something that she did often. She made note that she was making dinner, and it seemed that Michael was more than welcome to it, which made the male smile somewhat; considering that he could go for something to eat. One thing that he would not have to worry about was being bullied, considering that usually he was the one that bullied, no the other way around. Sure Silus would have loved to do some bullying, but then again he would need more power than he had to do so, considering that he had none. ”I’ll keep that in mind.” He said chuckling a little, and then turning his attention on the nude woman that was fawning over the mewling babe.

Unlike ethereal children, he expected that the little girl would take years to age, considering that his father had to deal with that once. Taking the cupcake, Michael prepared to answer the question, considering that someone had finally asked it. ”My name’s Michael.” He said with a small smirk, biting into the cupcake and chewing gingerly. It was good, he had to give it that much, considering that he was not much of an expert on cupcakes. Artemis asked where a woman named Penny was, though he didn’t consider her location important to him, silver pools falling upon the young child. Something about her seemed familiar, the girl radiating an energy much like…..Jordan?

“Penny got called in late, one of the other doctors got sick.” Salone notified Artemis, watching her play with her child. Hanna tugged on her ears and attempted to eat her nose. Salone wasn’t to concerned however. She had become distracted by Michael and his strange eyes now watching her daughter. The eyes were familiar. It would take her a while to remember where she had seen them.

“Do you have any family members that live in town?” Salone asked, turning back to the fridge and pulling out a carton of apple juice while Hanna gurgled and squirmed in the wolf’s grip. The child would need a nap soon but for now Salone had a new mystery to unravel as to who exactly this Michael character was and if he was dangerous. “What do you want to drink Artemis?”

Artemis nodded in wolf form to show Salone she understood what she said. Hanna was crawl over her and Artemis just yawn, unphased about the pup that was climbing on her. She made note of the the boy's name. Michael... it sound strange and Artemis turned the name around in her head. She shifted back into her human form, now carrying Hanna. Walked the kitchen where everyone was she just shrugged. "Surprise me, as long as it isn't that disgusting black stuff Penny drink in the morning. I don't care what she puts in it, it's gross." Artemis looked at Michael, She felt sorry for him, Salone was now going to bombard him with questions.

"Come on Salone, Meecal doesn't have to tell us anything if he doesn't want to. I was just trying to be nice." said Artemis, completely failing at saying Michael's name right.

He noted that the woman was nice enough, but something told him to be wary of her. It was perhaps the way that he felt around her, but something screamed that he could not fully trust her, or the shapeshifter either. Still, he made sure to smirk a lot and silently nibble on the cupcake that she gave him. ”Family in town? No, can’t say that I have any, most of my family lives…out of the country.” he said with a light smirk, hoping that this woman was not aiming for something.

Salone laughed at Artemis, she couldn’t help it. Not just her distaste of coffee but at the fact she had totally debotchered the kid’s name. Taking a few moments to collect herself she finally turned back to Michael. “You sure? You have a pretty familiar face. I’m pretty sure I’ve never met you before…”

Salone trailed off as she tried to remember where she had seen those eyes before. This was going to bother her for most of the day, however she was distracted by the baby Artemis was holding. Salone gently took her and Hanna yawned, her blue eyed face scrunched up.

“I need to feed her and put her down for a nap. Can you make sure that you don’t try to make a mess of anything, I just got this house put back together after that Ourobos guy tore it apart practically.”

That entire fiasco had happened three months ago. Moving out of the kitchen and into her room, Salone shut the door. After laying Hanna down, Salone fingered her medallion that Jake had given her when they had first met. That’s when it hit her. Sean. She had seen those exact same eyes on Sean.

Walking out of the room, her face was stony.
“Artemis,” She said in an ice cold voice. “Step away from him.”

Hanna was taken from Artemis, much to her displeasure. But hey Salone seemed to know best, or at least she always acted like she did. Artemis head to the fridge and pulled out a can with the name "Coke-a-Cola" what ever that meant. It belonged to Penny and she had about 11 more in the fridge. She had watched Penny open the cans before and she knew how they opened but Penny was always uptight about the cans. She kept going on when Salone took one that "It was the one thing in this crazy house keeping her sane. However Artemis just opened the can and took of sip of it. Her noise crinkled as the carbonated bubbles felt like they where going up her nose. Artemis just placed the soda to the side. Unlike the other black drink Penny drank this one was cold and didn't taste to bad, but the bubbles bugged her.

Artemis opened her mouth to question the boy more. However the only words that came out her mouth where "So Meecal" before Salone walked back into her room and told her to get away from him with a cold face. Artemis shifted into her wolf form and worked her way around Michael and next to Salone, looking at Michael intently, waiting for Salone's explanation, ready to chase after the boy or corner him if needed.

”Familiar face? I guess you know someone that looks like me.” He said with a shrug. All seemed to be going well with this encounter, Michael chowing on a cupcake as the woman spoke. It wasn’t until she mentioned Ouroboros that he felt himself choke on the cupcake, food catching within his throat slightly. While the woman walked away, Michael thought over why his father was even here. Nothing right came to mind however, just a large pool of confusion, one that increased when she returned and told Artemis to step away from him. He wasn’t planning to kill anyone, so that seemed a little unwarranted within his mind. ”Whats up?” He questioned, eyes glowing an opalescent silver against his will.

Salone glanced away for two moments to make sure Artemis was safely by her. Then she turned back to look at Michael, who now had glowing opalescent silver eyes. An impression of golden scales flickered across Salone’s skin before sinking back and showing nothing out of the ordinary, besides an amber-ish glow in her eyes.

“Sean. That’s what’s up. Now tell me, do you plan to run everyone in this house through and stab us in the lung?” A low growl echoed through the house and the medallion pulsed wildly. The dogs looked up from their napping positions in front of the heater and growled softly in response. Salone struggled to reign in the dragon’s temper, a wild, fiery, hot thing. The dragon however longed to snap her jaws closed around Michael’s neck. It would be so easy… so quick…
“Are you genuinely lost, kid? Or do you have an ulterior motive?”

Artemis honestly had no idea what was going on. Apparently this boy was involved with Sean somehow. Artemis remember when Salone told her what happen. She still felt bad about what happened. She still couldn't help thinking that if she had stayed she could of done something. But regardless Salone was though this boy was involved with Micheal some how. Artemis felt her blood boil a bit, not much but it was enough to make her jump on top of Micheal to knock him over and pin him down. Artemis jaws hovered only centimeters above his throat. Her breath could be felt against his throat. If this didn't get his to talk Artemis didn't know what else would.

Things went from bad to worse, the woman mentioning his father and then mentioning something about running them through. Either people instantly thought he worst of him, or something bad was happening. It was however that quickly that he found himself on his back, a pain permeating through the back of his skull, and the urge to kill running through his mind. This went from a simple night to him being threatened, teeth only inches from ripping his throat out, something that would not end up well for him. ” I don’t know at this point, considering that you’re the one threatening to kill me now it seems.” In an instant he dissolved into mist, reforming a good few feet away from Artemis, ready to run if that was what he needed to do.

”I don’t know who you are, but you seem to know my parents well enough.” Michael noted rubbing his sore shoulders and glaring at the woman in question, lips curling into a slightly annoyed snarl. ”Now that I think about it though, Jordan does have something against him; something about killing his dragon father or something.” He said rubbing his chin, mostly mumbling to himself. ”So what do you have against my old man?” He asked raising an eyebrow, but more than ready to lash out if the woman would give him a reason to.

Salone stiffened when Artemis pounced; she frowned slightly in a disapproving manner. One does not pounce on another unless you have every intent of ripping their throat out… A look flashed across Salone’s face at Michael mentioning Jake/Yam so casually. She quickly squashed the reaction however.

“Your brother and I have something in common then, his father.” Salone stated a stone mask dropping into place. She stored the fact Jake had another kid in the back of her mind for later. “I was there when he died. I watched as Sean stabbed him through the lung and as he fell. Sean made many enemies that day based on his thirst for revenge.”

The woman whistled to Artemis and held out a hand. Another habit she had developed. Itching her friend behind the ears while thinking. “I am not going to hold you for what your father did. But you do anything that suggests otherwise…” Her voice trailed off as the timer on the stove went off. “Get that out of the oven, I am going to go check Hanna.”
She hadn't realized how much time had passed.

The boy had turned into mist and reformed across the room. Salone then whistled to her and Artemis trotted over her and was scratched behind the ears. Before she lived with Salone she never did know the simple pleasure of being scratched behind the ears. Salone just said to get the food out of the oven while she checked on Hanna. Artemis shifted in to her human form and walked into the kitchen. She had a feeling Salone was talking to Micheal but Artemis wanted to prove that she could take the food out of the oven. She never done it before but how hard could it be. She walked over to the oven opened it up and reached in. Artemis' hand flew back and She sucked on her now burnt fingers. "Ow..."

”I’ve heard of what my father did.” Michael said simply, arms crossing over his chest as he felt his heart rate pick up slightly. It seemed that he was dealing with two people that wanted his father dead,, which made him uncomfortable. Before he could ask what she knew of his father,, the woman ran towards the stove to check whatever that sound was, and Michael was left alone with Artemis who followed shortly afterwards. Somehow his father was here,, and that meant these women were people that required the attention of the Ethereal King himself, and that was unsettling. Michael watched Artemis try to fetch the food from the oven, and scoffed when she burned herself. ”Need help?” Creating a limb of dark ethereal energy, Michael grabbed the food and placed it where it needed to go.

Artemis glared at Michael. He picked up the food with some weird energy limb and placed it where Salone asked. Artemis sat at the counter and sucked on her brunt fingers. "Show off." said Artemis annoyed. She began to think of way to get back at him. One idea however stuck in her head. She remembered the reactions of Shi, Salone and Jake when they where alive when i did it to them. With one quick moment Artemis jumped over counter and pinned Michael against the wall and kissed him. She stayed there for a few seconds before moving away unsatisfied. "Seesh, no one is as good as dragon boy." she mumbled as she walked away.
