The Looks

Light brown skin, light brown eyes, Black short (6 inch) slightly curly hair. She wears heavy plated armor over her entire body with the red Templar's cross upon her chest, except from her forearms to her hands. a dark wool scarf covers her head and neck and drapes down her back asymmetrically, the only parts of flesh showing (her forearms, hands and face though the scarf) are clad with deep scars. her ancient armor is also riddled with scratches and dent marks.

History:
Nera Holtz was born 1153 in Jerusalem during the Crusades. Her father a young crusader at the time, killed her parents in their own home only to find a infant child in the other room, he could no bring himself to kill or abandon the child, feeling remorse for what he had just done. So he took the girl and raised her in the Knights of the Templar order. When she was young she was looked down upon being of Arab decent and being a female, she quickly became isolated, it was in that isolation that she extensively studied the Qur'an, Old testament and New testament. She began templar training in her late teens against her fathers strong wishes, everyone soon realized she was special. She easily bested her peers who scapegoated her as a child and within a few weeks was defeating the instructors in sparing matches; She progressed quickly in the templar order. Nera's first battle was where she found "The Light of God" as she calls it, in a fight against an enemy general almost defeated, she threw her hand forward in rage as final gesture and a vicious light was brought forth and struck and killed him. She had numerous other battles each on granting her more renown for her ability and steely demeanor. During a raid on an Arab camp she fought another metahuman she identified as demon and banished her to a lesser realm where her mind was subject to corruption. She remained there until 2017 when the us government heard of a great warrior with extraordinary powers from the past and figured it was a metahuman they could use for research. They used another Metahuman to bring her back from the lesser realm but she was not the same, and neither was the world she found herself in, almost 900 years had passed. The government kept her in a holding cell until they could figure out how to study her it was then the New York assault happened and she saw the world we lived in, she deemed us all sinners and profligates and vowed to cleanse this world of us.
