New home (OPEN TO OCEAN MEMBERS)
Sabrina was walking through the halls of Ocean HQ. She had been here for a few days, but had mostly kept to herself in the suite Sai had provided for her. Which was nicer then Any apartment she stayed in before. But now she was done unpacking and was finished absorbing the strange experience that had been the past few days. She wore the same newsboy hat over her head, hiding her ears. The tail she had kinda gotten used to and it bothered her when she had it wrapped up. But she still wasn't used to the ears. So she kept them hidden under the her hat despite the world becoming muffled when she did. Either she was just getting a feel of the place. It was huge and it probably wasn't her best idea to be holed up in her room for the first few days she was here.
"Hmmm.... I wonder where I should check out first." she spoke quietly to herself.

Re: New home (OPEN TO OCEAN MEMBERS)
Shi wandered through the halls of his own little 'home'. He wandered aimlessly, trying to forget the events that had transpired recently. He had to swollow his own pride and admit that he lost several times due to his ignorance of the world around him. It was shocking, and traumatic to need to lower himself to asking for tutoring in the area of the Occult. It was a slow process, but one he felt would be worth it one day.
On this particular day he wandered past a younger looking 'woman' who wore a hat that would have been better suited on a paperboy. Shi was both curious and humored by this new little thing. So much so that he actually took the time to stop.
"Hello. I assume you are the newest addition to our dysfunctional family?" Shi asked with a little chuckle.

Re: New home (OPEN TO OCEAN MEMBERS)
Sabrina was lost in thought as she walked. Trying to debate where to go. She didn't really notice the guy she passed until he spoke up. She spun around. Her ears had perked up slightly but not enough to lift the hat up. However they did make a slight indent in her hat until she dropped back down. "Yup!" said Sabrina Happily. "Although I spent the first few days holed up into my room so I decided to finally venture out. This place is huge... I don't know where to start." She turned back around and held her hands up. "Just look at this place it's a technological wonder!" Sabrina's tail was clearly visible with her back towards zell but not for long cause she spun back around, hand extended for a hand shake. "My name is Sabrina by the way."

Re: New home (OPEN TO OCEAN MEMBERS)
She was a rather chipper little thing. She was also probably pretty shy or overly stimulated due to the confession of keeping herself held up in her new room. It was indeed a huge place to adapt to. Especially for one like Shi who had very little to no knowledge on technology when he first entered the realm. She didn't know where to star searching either.
"A pleasure to meet you Sabrina. I am Shi Ryurou." Shi introduced himself formally and then tipped his straw hat. "Well whatever you need there is a place to get it here. Are you hungry, or do you just need to strewtch your legs?" shi asked. Hopfully he would be able to help this newcomer.

Re: New home (OPEN TO OCEAN MEMBERS)
"I was really just walking around Shi." said Sabrina with a smile. "I'm still getting used to this body, I didn't think my own serum would change me this much but it did. I am still embarrassed about parts of it. So in a way I am just stretching my legs. But I wouldn't mind getting something to eat. Cause I don't know where the food court is here. Food has just been delivered to my room the pass few days." Sabrina walked next to Shi, wrapped her arms around one of his and rested her head on his shoulder. "So lets get something to eat" she said with a smile, her tail lifting up into the air.

Re: New home (OPEN TO OCEAN MEMBERS)
"Very well. Come this way please." Shi said, leading the woman through a maze of hallways and to an elevator. The Elevator shot diagonally down and when it arrived Shi stepped out, and revealed the large exquisit food court. There was just about anything one could imagine here, but judging form her appearance she wanted some form of sushi or salmon. Shi was secretly hoping that it wasn't "racist" to assume cat-people liked fish. Shi showed her a Japanease sushi area and an italian one, so she could take her pick from the two most popular fish-dishes. "Take your pick. My homeland has good sushi, but if it's not exactly your thing then you my want to try the Itallian smoked Salmon....the salmon wasn't italian mind you...but the wya it's prepared and such."

Re: New home (OPEN TO OCEAN MEMBERS)
Apparently she was closer to the food court then she thought. Because with in a matter of minutes she was in the food court. Sabrina released herself from Shi's arm and looked around. It was huge. All different types of food, anything you can think of. However Shi showed her to a sushi area. "Hmmm... I was never big on seafood but after the past few days I have been craving it more and more..." said Sabrina, Looking at the japanese sushi place. She walked over and piled her plate high before finding a seat.
"I'm surprised." said Sabrina, eating some sushi. "I would though you would ask about the cat-tail. Considering it isn't exactly human... hold on a moment." She reached up and removed her hat. Her ears perked up once the were free and Sabrina let out a sigh. "God that feels good, having them stuck under a hat gets annoying, and everything sounds so much clearer. So... you seemed to of been here for a while. What did you do to get here."

Re: New home (OPEN TO OCEAN MEMBERS)
((OOC: I agree))
Eager fingers drummed out a complicated rhythm on a steel surface as a blond haired teenager leaned back in a chair, relaxed in posture but entrenched it seemed, still, in some sort of chore. Several Holographic images floated in the air in front of the young man and every few seconds he'd reach out with a single hand and manipulate the images, enlarging, shrinking, separating, altering, adding, and subtracting from them on seemingly a whim. Primarily the images took the shape of separate DNA structures, in the classic double helix pattern and also in a scattered constellation like array of some sort linked by intersecting lines.
The boy was, however, not so engrossed in his experimentation that he didn't notice two more people enter the hall. One large masculine figure wearing a straw hat and a woman with feline grace accentuated by a rather cat-like tail and a hat that just made the teen think of the 1920's. He had never met either of them but immediately knew they were other operatives. The man carried himself too well to be considered otherwise and the other was obviously a metahuman or other supernatural creature of some sort. Both prime candidates for the baseline description of the agents Saileyra had told him about.
He couldn't decide if he wanted to get up and introduce himself to them or wait for them to take the initiative. If he approached first it made him look outgoing which had both positive and negative ramifications. The entire reason he was even in the food court was because he was brainstorming, a feat that burned an excessive number of calories for someone whose brain worked like his. It was easier to be close to the food for several hours than it was to tote copious amounts back to his room. On top of that he had been hoping not to be too bothered whilst he constructed a genetic code around the meta-gene using a turtle for the basic structure. Though if he didn't say hello at least, they'd find him unapproachable or perhaps anti-social.
He decided upon a happy medium that would put the ball in their court as it were. Exaggerating his movements a little, more so that he'd be more noticeable in the sparsely populated room, he hoped to draw their attention his direction briefly and then he made a solid nod towards them. A simple and universal acknowledgement of their presence.

Re: New home (OPEN TO OCEAN MEMBERS)
Shi was not one to dismiss an acknowledgement, and so out courtesy he tipped his straw hat and sat close enough that conversation could start, but far enough away to keep the young man comfortable. Shi had a bit of a reputation for being a cold man, but he liked to think of himself as "unnecessarily rational.". If the other person didn't like it, then that wasn't exactly HIS problem now was it?
"Evening." Shi said. He suddenly realized that he was surrounded by people he was expected to eat with. The problem being that he was still wearing his mask. People have literally died trying to get a look under the mask, but in the end Shi still wore it. He looked at what Sabrina had chosen and nodded at her with a pleased humming. Her selection was good. Shi felt a rather comforting vibe and he relaxed. Not even needing to turn his head he looked around to see if anyone was watching him. He waited...as long as it took for the young man and Sabrina to both look away, even if for a split second. Shi used his power to augment his reflexes and speed, and ate the entire meal before him and have his mask back on in a matter of five seconds. He wanted to see the expression on their faces, it was normally humorous when someone looked away for a second to look back at a man with an empty plate.
Both of these new bloods must have joined recently, they certainly weren't here when he joined. Knowing whom is in his new family may very well could save lives one day. If addressed he would speak, if not he would respect the youth's privacy

Re: New home (OPEN TO OCEAN MEMBERS)
"You know... about less then a week ago I could of sworn I hated Sushi, but not it's like one of the best things I have ever tasted." said Sabrina happily. She was enjoying the food so much that she didn't notice the other new guy until Shi greeted him. Half a piece of sushi in her mouth her ears went back, feeling bad she didn't notice the guy. Eating the rest of the sushi she decided to say hi. "Hi!" said Sabrina happily, her ears perking back up. "I'm Sabrina, I'm new here." The holographic images behind the boy caught her attention and she move slightly to look at them better. "So whatca working on? Are you a scientist? I'm a scientist to." Sabrina looked back at Shi and a surprised look appeared on her face. His plate was just full but now it wasn't... weird.

Re: New home (OPEN TO OCEAN MEMBERS)
The Black Angel had, had a rough week so far, that much was perhaps an understatement. Her return to Chicago to finish closing out her affairs there had taken a disastrous turn, and the Black Angel wasn't even quite sure why. She'd taken on a whole protest site of anti-meta demonstrators in Downtown Chicago, and wasn't about to lie that she'd always been tempted to do what she had. However there was always something holding her back, it always had in the past, that's what kept her on the right side of the line that separated good from bad. Something broke in her however when she passed those demonstrators.... It was unusual because the Black Angel had always had the ability to hide in plain sight, their was truly nothing that separated her from another twenty something year old professional living in Downtown Chicago, but nevertheless their shouted insults cut something deep within her. It was something from her dark past, something primeval.... She didn't know what it was, know if it would snap again, or if she'd simply become the villain she knew she had within her.... Somewhere under the surface...
Whatever the case she knew she wouldn't be able to go to Chicago for awhile, which would complicate things with Zambrano, not to mention throw her operations against the Triad in Chicago out the window for the foreseeable future. She hadn't killed anyone that day, but a hundred or so cases of assault in front of the cameras was certainly enough to scare the shit out of anyone who wasn't Meta. So much power in one "Person" was certainly scaring the shit out of the authority already, and now the masses were getting acquainted with that same fear. Ultimately it was a difficult position for the Black Angel to be in, she certainly supported Meta's right to exist in peace, but also firmly believed in stopping those who would abuse their powers. Now however she was likely to be a poster child for those looking to strip Meta's of their rights.... It was an unfortunate situation.
The Black Angel hadn't been in O.C.E.A.N very long, and already she felt as if she was going to be cast as the "Troublemaker" of the group. Everywhere I fucking go... she thought to herself as she walked into the mess hall. She'd mostly eaten alone since coming to O.C.E.A.N, but she'd run out of food shortly coming back from Chicago, and now she faced the awkward prospect of running into her fellow operatives for the first time since the incident. She hoped beyond hope she was alone in the mess hall, she knew word had likely spread about what had happened, and she wasn't looking forward to talking about it. She'd gone about a day without food though, and she knew she'd have to both eat and face her fellow operatives at some point.
The Black Angel rounded the turn that led to the mess hall. She was wearing a lose fitting white, athletic tank top, with a designer emblem on the side, sticking out from it was a pair of dog tags which simply read "Jade 3", tight, black leather pants, custom Italian leather boots, with her long black hair pushed up by her sunglasses, which she wore on the top of her head. As she neared the mess hall she could hear other operatives talk, "Great.... All I fucking need... More people to think I'm crazy..." she thought to herself. It was a theme she was starting to believe after Chicago, but still it was better when she didn't have a bunch of people around to think it for her.
The Black Angel silently slipped into the mess hall silently, went straight to cooler and grabbed a few beers, then went over to what looked like grilled bourbon chicken, with some sort of spicy rice. She helped herself to a plate of it, then grabbed a small salad, and made her way to an empty table, cracking open a beer as she sat down, and digging into her food. It wasn't that she was unfriendly, it was just that she'd been judged by enough people this week. Eventually she'd have to talk about what had happened, but the Black Angel was a tough nut to crack.

Re: New home (OPEN TO OCEAN MEMBERS)
Finding his efforts to have been successful when the masculine figure sat nearby and spoke, Adam was decidedly pleased with his first interaction. It had been concise and just outgoing enough to seem somewhat approachable. It was about as much as he could ask for.
"Good evening," the blond teen replied returning his attention to the project set before him.
Absently, he picked up a set of chopsticks well within reach and used them to pluck several french fries from a half eaten plate of the shoestring potatoes. As he started to munch, however, he found himself interrupted once more as the neko woman began poking around next to him. Sabrina was apparently her name and she referred to herself as a scientist, probably a biologist or geneticist of some sort since it seemed she had just recently transformed herself into a feline spliced human. It was a rather simple deduction from the way she carried herself like she was new to her preternatural grace, not to mention her new found enjoyment of raw fish. It was like an excitable kitten had discovered him as she saw his holographic displays.
"Yes. I suppose you could refer to me as a scientist. I also suppose you don't subscribe to many scientific magazines either. Just a word of advice, you should start," the boy advised as he sat up straighter in his chair.
His advice was more rooted in the fact that it was a good idea to keep current on the most recent discoveries if one was going to pursue the endeavors of science than it was out of some sense of 'pride' as it were. The honest truth was that his face had been on the cover of a significant majority of the magazines he'd referenced over the last several months. It had been quite a bit of time since any scientist had failed to recognize him so it was odd for a second.
"Anyhow to actually answer your question, I'm creating a turtle with a metagene specifically inclined towards telekinetic capabilities and an enhanced intellect allowing it to decisively use said ability while still able to function normally in a natural environment. It isn't exactly difficult to accomplish though I'm starting with a metagene that grants the ability to vomit flames and some small degree of enhanced strength so the difficulty lies in manipulating the gene itself to specifically decide the ability granted as well as bonding it to reptilian DNA since the gene came from a human," Adam continued, noticing that the straw hatted individual had cleaned his plate already and reapplied his mask. Interesting, the man must've wanted to keep his true appearance hidden, even from his allies. What an odd practice amongst a group that needed to trust each other in order to avoid death or injury. His motives must be strongly motivated either out of some degree of embarrassment or safety. Perhaps over time he would feel more relaxed about it? If that was the case though, Adam felt as if he should feel outraged. Here he sat with his full identity exposed and he couldn't expect the same courtesy from his allies. Suppressing his first inclination to confront the man, the genius resolved to discuss it later during the Consultation meeting.
To aid him in biting back harsh words, he practically shoved several more fries into his mouth.

Re: New home (OPEN TO OCEAN MEMBERS)
Shi could feel the dicomfort in the area. The younger man was obviously unfomcortable with the fact that Shi decided to keep his face from the team. Shi looked at him through the mask and chuckled slightly. He was unsure of half of what the young boy had said. He followed the concept well enough, but it was the entire application and scientific rational that had him confused. This is why he just protected them and tuned them out mostly while on missions. Bless their hearts they woud explain things as they were doing therm and it drove him mad. countless times he would wish to be able to just tell them he had no clue what they were saying. Alas Shi was too patienty and would endure all physical hardships and mental hardships that befell his family.
The odd vibe this child was giving off was odd however. Was he offended that Shi was able to eat faster than him? no certainly someone with such 'intellectual' superiority would not have minded something so trivial. Perhaps it was, as it frequantly was, the concept of a hidden identity. O.C.E.A.N was a family, there were no real 'secrets' from one and other... Shi growled a little bit to himself upon realizing that this man being so smart likkely needed his little devices. Much like a certain Bionic Bitch he had the displeasure of being haunted by. It would be in both parties best interest if Shi diffused the situation now.
"My name is Shi Ryurou. I do not mean offence by my current attire, however my eyes require...special avoidance from the eyes of others. Those who look into my eyes...never quite see things in the same light." Shi said, trying to be as polite as he could. He was now higly uncomfortable, and his left middle finger began tapping off of the table in response. He quickly caught himself before it became too much of a tell. He noticed anothyer operative in the mess hall, one he had the great pleasur of meeting and working with before. It was Black Angel, Shi tipped his straw hat at her, attempting to wish her a good day.
Shi suddenly forze up and thought of soemthing. If this child were so smart as to be multi-lingual then he would surly know the significance of the name Shi Ryurou. In that case the whole concept of keeping his eyes hidden was for very little purpose other than the prevention of giving the teen a heart attack. Shi silently hoped he did not speak Japanese as well as he handled chopsticks.

Re: New home (OPEN TO OCEAN MEMBERS)
Sabrina looked over the holograms with great interest. "Not really, I kept to myself trying to complete my life's work. It's actually pretty close to what you are working on right now, but in reverse. I would give you the equation I used in my work, I figured out to place multiple traits of multiple animals safely into a human host. But sadly all my work was stolen, although I managed to steal one of the formula's back, but sadly it wasn't my chimera formula and just the prototype. It only contained the DNA of a household cat." said Sabrina with a sigh. "It's a shame if it were the chimera formula I would of been able to track the people who stole my work." Sabrina sat down on the bench, bummed. Her ears went back and she had unintentionally made herself sad. She picked up a piece of sushi and grumpily threw it in her mouth, chewing on it. "But something good came out of it, Sai found me and offered me a job here. And I must say, living here is the nicest place I ever lived. All my money went into my project so I lived in a run down apartment." She looked back at the hologram and pointed at one part of the turtle gene. "I do remember I manipulated this part of the gene to fit human DNA. You have to make it more dominate then the natural DNA, so to speak. That way when it's introduced it will take over the corresponding strand of DNA. Which is quite painful, I speak from experience."
Out of the corner of her eye she saw someone new. Another woman, which was nice, but she isolated herself from the others. This peaked her curiosity, so she picked up her tray of food and walked over to the woman, sitting across from here. "Hi! I'm Sabrina!" she said, her ears perking up. "Why are you sitting all the way over here? We are all suppose to be family here right?"

Re: New home (OPEN TO OCEAN MEMBERS)
The Black Angel took a refreshing sip of her Coors Light, exhaling deeply as the cold beer went down her throat. In a couple hours, and after about twenty more Coors Lights she'd be ready for bed, but not after putting the finishing touches on her new utility belt, which she was hoping to debut in combat quite soon. She figured if it worked well enough with her, she'd make a few more, perhaps even making it standard O.C.E.A.N equipment. Of course she'd have to test it in the field first, but she figured it would go off without a hitch. It wasn't nano technology, but it could get an operative out of a sticky situation, and better yet was light weight, and truly functional. That was perhaps the Black Angel in a nutshell, she didn't wear some outlandish costume, nor did she use space age weaponry, and she'd beat a handful of Meta's who did. Mostly she'd found herself fighting the wars of humanity, but every now and then she'd come across a Meta, especially as of late, and she'd proved just as effective fighting her own kind.
She turned to look at Shi, who seemed to talking to a teenage operative, and the newest female addition. Shi tipped his straw hat, and the Black Angel raised her beer. It was the sort of silent acknowledgement that was common among seasoned warriors. The Black Angel liked Shi, though she'd had very little time to work with him. However, when it came to boy Shi was talking to, the Black Angel still didn't quite understand why Saileyra was letting teenagers into the organization, as they lacked the physical and mental development of their adult peers, but perhaps this one was different? All the same, this wasn't high school... And people died in this business, making the Black Angel doubt very much a teenager could take a life, or deal with the aftermath of taking a life. "Who knows.... You did it well enough...." the Black Angel thought to herself, before remembering she'd been trained for it since she was ten. She doubted very much this boy had been, which would pose a problem if he had to take life.
Then their was the new operative, it was nice to see another female in the organization, she seemed bubbly, a bit awkward, but perhaps she'd be a good addition to the team? Saileyra seemed to think so, and that was good enough for the Black Angel.... She'd learned to trust Saileyra with her life, a distinction not many people had ever earned with the Black Angel. So even though this operative seemed, overly chipper..... She had the Black Angels respect, and she was coming her way....
The Black Angel looked up in something resembling horror as the newest O.C.E.A.N operative came bounding over to her table, tray in hand, smile of face. When she reached the Black Angels table she quickly sat down, excitedly saying "Hi! I'm Sabrina!". In a normal situation the Black Angel would make a rude remark "I'm sitting alone for a reason...", or "Good for you..", or some other insult. But being a friend of Saileyra, the Black Angel decided to give her a chance. The Black Angel said "Hi Sabrina... I'm the Black Angel... You can call me Angel, doesn't matter.". When Sabrina said "Why are you sitting all the way over here? We are all suppose to be family here right?", the Black Angel laughed, saying "Well their is one in every family... Right?". After taking another sip of her beer, the Black Angel asked "So Sabrina.... What brings you to O.C.E.A.N? You're some sort of scientist right?".
The Black Angel wasn't much of a people person, but Sabrina seemed genuinely nice, and that was rare in this day and age. The Black Angel only hoped O.C.E.A.N didn't take her sunny outlook and seeming innocence, as getting ensnared in such an organization had an ugly habit of doing that to the type of people like Sabrina.
