Personality:

Maria is a very kind and generous person. She rather take care of other rather then herself and will often work herself down just trying to please everyone. She has a high respect for the law and little respect or tolerance for those who break it. But even then she treats everyone as equals and tries to talk it out before fighting. She has a impulse to help everyone she can. If someone dies infront of her she blames herself for not being able to protect them. She acts very motherly.

History:

Maria was born in 1921 as the 11th child to Norman and Jenna Hawthorne. She was the baby of the family but wasn't treated any differently then she was with her other brothers and sisters. However the thing that set her apart was her powers, she could make her or anyone she touched stronger or smarter and heal wounds. Her parents tolerated her powers, but forbid her from using them outside there farm. Maria however had different plans. She would go out in her free time and find hurt or wounded animals and heal them up. One day when she was 14 she came across a man, lying on the floor, bleeding and still alive, however he was weak and close to death. She rushed over and began to heal him but in the end she was to late. The man died while she was trying to heal him and her sister, who was with her at the time, went to go get their parents. They reported the body to the police, saying it was like this when they got there, but the truth hurt Maria. She blamed herself for his death and vowed that she would dedicate her life to helping others, in hope of never having someone die in her hands again.

So at age 16 she ran away, to the city of Atlanta, in hopes of helping people as a hero, like in her brothers comic books. Starting off was hard, but after awhile she ran into other heroes, Crash, Barrage, and Vixen. all with similar goals and together the formed the group Safeguard, dedicated to helping others. And that was her life for the next 7 years. But one day when she was 23, in the middle of battle with a flame villain named Hellhound, she collapsed. Next thing she new she was in a hospital bed, with her teammates surround her. They smiled and excitedly call the doctor into the room. After the doctor got in the room they explained that she had been out for 2 months, a strange unknown and unnamed disease. There was no cure and even with her healing ability the disease would kill her slowly and painfully with in a few months. He then explained that they had been working on a machine that will amplify her healing abilities enough to put her body in stasis until they found a cure, which they assured her would only take a few years at most.

With that information she agreed to be put into the machine, which they dubbed a stasis pod. She entered stasis almost instantly. After that the years past with no cure and her friends died in battle over the years, none of them making over the age of 37. They group Safeguard went down as a heroic team who gave there lives to stop a major threat from a villain who could create new plagues with a thought. Even though records of her in the group early on showed her under her hero name of Haven, later records, like the ones after the battle with the plauge villian, did not. Meanwhile after about 5 years the hospital she was staying at was closed down and she was placed under government care. However since the pod was self reliant, they put her in a secret government holding facility and was ultimately forgotten. Or she was until Knightwatch reveiwed the files...

The Powers

Power 1: Healing (5): Scales through AB, each level in ab for healing is equal to that level of regeneration. She must make psychical contact if healing another person

Power 2: Power boosting (8): Maria can boost her own strength, speed, durability, fight skills, intelligence and ability or another persons stats. To boost another persons stats she has to make physical contact with them. Even though she can boost her own stats for an unlimited amount of time if she boosts someone else's stats it lasts 5 posts. She can not boost herself and another person at the same time.
