Personality: Marco is an intelligent man, dedicated to finding and destroying all links to the coven of vampires that destroyed his childhood and took his friends life. Marco lives with the guilt of having pulled the trigger on the girl he loved when he was 12. This guilt has caused him to think heavily each time before he fires his 44. Magnum at someone. Marco is a borderline alcoholic, and can often be found at a bar alone, drinking and researching his next link in a case, or looking for reports of missing children to find a connection and exact his revenge. Marco will analyze any situation by every square inch. He never misses a detail, and he has damned the prospect of meeting someone new in his life, at least until he gets revenge for the fallen.

History: Marco Belerant grew up in a rich neighborhood in Los Angeles, California. He personally knew nothing about struggling or not being able to have something he wanted. He had a nice family, nobody abused him, he rarely got fussed at, he saw them both nearly everyday. Marco did a lot of research into the metahumans when he was young, these studies led him to researching the supernatural things that existed in the world as well. He became infatuated with getting to meet someone special like that, and as a 12 year old boy who could blame him? Marco Belerant, age 12, and his best friend Adrianna Pulaski went walking through one of the darker parts of town, yelling out "help, please somebody help."
They didn't know what to expect. But what happened was far worse than their worst expectation.

Both of them saw the group of people walking toward them, eyes gleaming a bright yellow. Neither of them could run, they were locked in eye contact. When the first man grabbed Marco, he told him one thing.
"You are never going to forget this, kid."
And he knocked Marco unconscious. When Marco woke up he saw nothing but concrete floors and blood. Adrianna lay unconscious in the middle of the room, blood covered her neck.

"Adrianna! Are you ok? Please wake up!" Marco said, fearful for his, and his friends life.

A note was folded and in his pants pocket. He pulled it out and started to read

"Marco Belerant. Your friend lying in the center of this room will have no idea who she is when she wakes. She will in fact be one of us. Though, there is a severe difference. A vampire who is not taught by her master how to live and behave properly is simply a feral beast. She will have the taste for blood within minutes of waking up. She will try to convince you that she is just a friend and that nothing is wrong, but as soon as you let your guard down, she will take you. There is a 44. Magnum on the floor over by the door-way. The key is in Adrianna's back pocket. Good luck."

Marco slumped his head and slid down the side of the wall to the ground. He couldn't kill her. He was not a killer.

She started to sit up. Marco ran quickly to the magnum and pulled the pin back. He pointed it in her direction and stared at her, shaking. She brushed off her pants and looked at him in terror

"Marco....why are you...what are you doing? Don't point that at me!"
"Adrianna...just please stay over there. Reach into your back pocket there is a key. We can leave now, but I can't trust you for the time being." Marco shook back a tear.

Adrianna slid the key across the floor. Marco bent down to pick it up, and that's when she tried to make the move to get Marco to drop the gun. Marco pulled the trigger. He wishes his aim was better, because he hit her in the chest. Not the head. She started to cry and ask him why he did it, why he tried to kill her. He could only stare into her eyes at that point he wiped the blood from her neck only to see that there were no bite marks. She was completely fine.
Marco felt the tears as they rushed off of his face. He bent down and kissed his friend and told her.
"So long as I live, I will never forget you Adrianna, I will work day in and day out to find the people who did this, and all of there families, and I will destroy them all."

Adrianna looked at Marco with a small smile and said "Marco. I have always loved you, and I always will." And just like that. She died.

Marco used the key on the door and left, to follow the path of becoming a detective and working day in and day out to track down the destroyers of his childhood, and the murderers of his friend.
