Power 1: Negative Psychokinesis (8) Roman's bizarre physiology allows him to generate and manipulate a mysterious force known as Negative Energy. Negative Energy is type of energized Dark Matter capable of distorting atoms and allowing for Telekinetic processes. The ability to manipulate this energy has been identified by the Center for Metahuman Studies as ‘Negative Psychokinesis’. Similar in function to standard Telekinesis, the user is capable of moving, agitating, vibrating, and breaking matter on a macro and even micro level. However, unlike Telekinesis, which manipulates matter through psychic ability, Negative Psychokinesis uses Negative Energy to perform similar feats. By saturating the environment in Negative Energy, the user is able to distort the physical space around objects in order to produce Telekinetic effects without the need for psychic ability. While Telekinesis and Negative Psychokinesis are normally unrecognizable from one another, there are several important distinctions. The first is that Negative Energy often causes disruptions in electrical signals. Thus, the use of Negative Psychokinetic abilities in the vicinity of Electronics and other machines can cause them to malfunction or be drained of electrical energy. The severity of this effect is heavily dependent on the amount of Negative Energy that is being expended upon any given area. The second major difference is that, because the user does not perform Telekinetic feats with their mind, the need for mental concentration is not necessary. Where severe head trauma can be a severe weakness in most Telekinetic individuals, Negative Psychokinetics do not suffer from such drawbacks.
