Relations Délicieux De La Mort
And so it has begun. The destruction of the race that this world knows as the Metahumans. A proud day for the Dominus organization as it ignites the flame of genocide across the country. Across the world. The public leader, Adam, was to address the American people in a press conference today. If Vexus knew the man then his words should echo throughout history, he was intelligent for allowing her to intervene when she did as none of this would be possible without her. Elena's was running her computers at their maximum output, tapping into every devices that she could on the planet. There would not be a single inch of this Earth that someone could hide. Vexus was everywhere. Figuratively and literally as well. Because of her most recent upgrade, she does not have as strong of a connection to her quantum computer as she used to. In order to sustain an proper hold over everything she has placed her clones at strategic points across the globe in order to bounce and strengthen the signal to wherever she may go. Her destination this time around was France.
It was an early morning as the two set off towards the airport. It was quite the royal precession; armored vehicles, police escort, security guards, secret service, everything. Vexus was in the last car of the procession with one of each of her clones in a new black slit dress which she had purchased for the occasion. Accompanied by red stilettos and black gloves extending above her elbows she was dressed to meet with the French Ambassador for the United Nations, Jean-Marc D'evareau. Elena understood how boring some of the meeting could get and she always figured things would go much more smoothly if the gentlemen in the room had a little bit of something to keep them somewhat occupied. In the car in front of Vexus was a Dominus agent that she had recruited earlier in the year. He went by the name of Doppelgänger and was absolutely crucial to this mission. As it will be explained in more detail during the briefing, he is to take the place of the Ambassador in order to sway the vote more in Dominus' favor. He knows of what he will be doing and has been given information on the man he will be taking shape of. His predicted eating habits, his speech patters, current views and beliefs, friends, family, detailed all the way down to his general posture. Even Vexus wouldn't want to be in this man's position. The whole word's a stage.
They entered into a open stretch of paved land and off in the distance the private jet they were taking could be seen. Vexus had not spoken a word to Doppelganger yet. A few days prior was the last contact that she had with him, she had appeared on a television screen and gave him instructions to retrieve the information about the Ambassador so that he may start learning everything that he could. She had included surveillance tapes of some of his actions, scripts of conversation, etc. There was really nothing that she could not have obtained about this man, but it was always safe to leave a margin of error for human tendencies. Acting was a delicate task, one Vexus would never be able to handle again due to her robotic form. She would be taking the more subtle route this time around. After a few minutes of driving they finally arrived at the plane. Vexus' driver opened the door on either side, first letting out the robotic clones of Vexus, and then Vexus herself. The clones grabbed her luggage and headed up onto the plane. Elena glanced over for a moment to see her associate getting out of the car, just to make sure he was still on board for this. There was a moment of eye contact before Vexus continued up the stairs into the small aircraft.
Taking a seat she awaited for Doppelganger to sit so that she may begin further explaining the mission. In the meantime she pulled out a folder and began flipping through some papers to double check everything was in order. Once he did take a seat, she did not even acknowledge him until they were up in the air at cruising altitude. There were a couple televisions in the walls before the cockpit that flashed to life, it was displaying the broadcast as Adam Paxton gave his speech. The two of them sat in silence as they watched the address, Vexus almost laughed at parts keeping her emotion subdued to a weak grin. Some of the words spoken were just laced with lies, but those weak human minds listening to the garbage were just eating it up. The world was looking for a savior like this, someone to step fourth and conquer the problems that everyone faces. Vexus thought herself above all of this, all of the humans, all of the Metahumans, all of Dominus and their petty goals. It disgusted her that she had been part of that filth at one point in her life, but finally she had reached true perfection. A point so much higher than any being bound to this rock. Elena Vexus had transcended through her humanity unto perfection and now treads amongst the gods.
"Ladies and gentlemen, help us, help you..."
"Doppelganger, that is our cue."
Her eyes moved coldly over to the shapeshifter with a grin of true malice staining her face. She turned her chair to face him with her arms and legs crossed.
"The whole nation just witnessed that. Every Metahuman on our list has more than likely declared their own personal war against us. But know that there is nothing they can do to stop us. This world will plummet into chaos of the likes that no one could ever imagine. Heroes and Villains working side by side just to stay alive... My friend, your life expectancy has been cut in half by mere words. The only way out now is Death's sweet kiss. I offer you now a choice of this romance, or to continue through with the work of the Devil himself. Do choose wisely as neither shall be pleasant, I guarantee it..."

Re: Relations Délicieux De La Mort
During the entire trip on the private jet, a man in close-cropped hair and a well-pressed suit watched video feeds repeatedly for hours. They were the same videos, accompanied by detailed reports, that he had been watching for the last few days. Every once in a while he would repeat back something the videos said or practice gestures that were displayed to him. His accent began to match so perfectly that one would swear he was a native Frenchman, despite his current American appearance. Every once in a while he would switch the videos and reports over to another man or woman who the ambassador associated with and begin having one-sided conversations with them.
The American was not who he appeared to be. And he would soon appear to be the man in the video. Doppelgänger was constantly changing, but his act almost never faltered between roles. Leaving nothing to chance, he would assume the role of the French ambassador to perfection. Not even his own mother would know the difference, since Doppelgänger had studied her in precise detail. If she couldn't tell the difference, the rest of the world would be none the wiser.
To his slight annoyance though, he still needed to go over mission details with the well-dressed woman in the plane with him. He continued practicing his acting while she went over things with him, only taking small breaks for brief responses to anything she said. He hardly even allowed Adam Paxton's speech to register in his thoughts. The mission itself did not interest Doppelgänger nearly as much as the acting opportunity. Being French and an ambassador were two entirely new things to him. Of course he would still proceed with the mission, but only out of necessity rather than self-interest.
What did interest him was Vexus's choice of words once the speech finished playing out. He looked up from his video feeds and detailed lists long enough to meet the woman's eyes.
"Do not rank me among the heroes, villains, or even the metahumans. I may mimic their lives, but I am not one of them, in body or in soul. And neither are you, for that matter. We are out of the reach of Death's embrace. Allow me to continue my work that I alone can finish. The Devil be damned if he ruins this delicate operation."
Of course part of that was a lie. Doppelgänger acted like he was above fear and even death. But the truth was that he was a superb actor. He never showed the dread that filled him unless it was appropriate to the moment. And it certainly was not right now.

Re: Relations Délicieux De La Mort
"My, my. You surely are good at what you do. I am so glad that we decided to pick you up. You were well worth the search."
He seemed to understand the severity of the situation. This was one of, if not the, most important mission of this whole operation. If something were to backfire, or go wrong in the slightest everything would fall apart. Hopefully, if anything does slip slightly Vexus will be able to catch if before it grows out of proportion. She was not planning on sticking around with this organization for much longer, but for right now they at least needed a little bit of a push to help the onto their feet. She got what she wanted. She only needed them for the money, and she had her money. As a matter of fact, she was wearing it. Elena's new body with all the technology she had crammed into it was not cheap, but it was all worth it. Now she could devour whole countries in a matter of hours, such power of course at least needed to be taken for a test drive before being properly executed. She glanced over to Doppelgänger and saw him buried in his work, it was an excellent thing that Vexus had upgraded from her primitive human mind because such urges to kill would get the best of her. Brutally murdering someone simply is not professional. Vexus tilted her head back letting it rest on the chair she was sitting in and closed her eyes. It may have appeared as if she was sleeping though she was focusing more on everything that was happening. Tracking the French Ambassador's flight, watching the riots break out in the streets from the Metahuman revolts. The Dominus armies were mobilizing. Vexus was sure that cute little gangs of Metahumas would start to spark up once this whole thing gathers momentum. Marshall law ensued in every city, before anyone would realize it Dominus would have turned the whole world into a dictatorship. A small grinned crept across Vexus' face as she thought of just who might have the power to rule the world. With her mental capacity she could establish more computers around the planet, have a view of every last inch of this rock, illuminate every dark corner. No one would be able to escape her power then. Oh the things that could come from this Purge, poor little Adam had absolutely no clue. At that instant something came across Vexus' mind. Elena Marie... She had been behind a tear in the dimensions so she surely would put up a fight against the Dominus Agents, hell, she would obliterate some of them. Ms. Marie would have to wait until after this French ordeal however, though she seemed like a project worth Vexus' personal time.
A few hours of surveillance and flight later, Vexus opened her eyes again and saw her comrade still working. If he had taken a nap she wouldn't have known. Normally she monitors the heart rate and head levels of the people around her, but in such a situation her guard had been down. She did not even know if he had left his chair or moved about the cabin. This could not happen again and she needed to be much more careful next time around, such weakness can result in death in such stressful times.
"Doppelgänger, we will be beginning our decent. I do hope you are ready."
Upon arrival they would move through security as any normal people would. May take a little longer considering Adam's speech with the possibility of tightened security, however there was nothing that could or will go wrong in this stage. The two of them shall be escorted to their hotel suite where Vexus would lay down the plan in its entirety.

Re: Relations Délicieux De La Mort
"I am but a humble servant," he responded in turn before she seemed to drift off. Perhaps Doppelgänger had come across too strongly before. He didn't want people to think too highly of him. For even among people who thought they knew the real him, he had to keep up the act that hid the secrets that only he still knew. On the other hand, his first reaction may have been needed. He'd been studying Vexus on the side while memorizing the French ambassador's role. She didn't seem to have a complete grasp on her sanity, if at all. A strong word like he'd given was needed to make some of his importance known.
By now Doppelganger had the ambassador's part solidified in his mind to the point that nothing short of braindeath would remove the details. So he was really only looking busy and acting that part as perfectly as he ever did. He shifted his actual attention to Vexus and took note of her every facial movement and minuscule twitch. Since Doppelgänger was so good at mimicking others, he knew what every tiny movement meant and how to reproduce the same meaning in his own act. He did not plan to copy Vexus, but rather memorize her instead. He knew that she was not faking her nap, so he was able to draw that much more of his attention her way.
Now Doppelgängar had many mixed feelings about Dominus. But he was sure of his feelings of Vexus. He did not like her for two reasons. Firstly she was unstable and unpredictable. Secondly, she knew too much and was capable of tracking and finding people in the world. And although Doppelgänger had learned to not rely on technology at all, and even avoid it, he also knew that technology was dominating more and more of the world. If there was anyone he needed to worry about, it was this woman. He could count on her being his downfall. Dominus's intentions was a coin toss; one that he was able to manipulate to help his own chances.
When Vexus awoke, Doppelgänger was still hard at work as always. Such a loyal little dog he was. Or at least he appeared so. Still, the French voice in the UN was awaiting him. He could hardly pass up that chance. He was ready now, and he would pull through for Dominus in this mission. "I am always perfectly prepared," he lied with absolute perfection in his voice and facial movements. For he knew that one was never completely ready. Even with his flawless acting abilities, there was room for error that he had to be ready for on the spot. That could not be prepared for in advance.
When the plane touched down, Doppelgänger cleared his research from the computer so no one would see evidence of his memorization. He was not good with computers like Vexus was, so there was much room for error in his use of them. But he still made it a point to be throrough and leave no footprints behind, Dominus computer or not. As he left the jet with Vexus, he took on the role of her security escort like the man he was mimicking would have been. She did not really need the escort, but appearances were everything. Especially in politics. So it was not until they were in the privacy of their own room and he gave her a chance to ensure their security that he broke character again.
"Where will I be making my entrance?"

Re: Relations Délicieux De La Mort
]"We shall be using the power of coincidence to our advantage this time around. The Ambassador is holding a ball for his return home, a sort of celebration before all of the work commences. With Dominus being in full swing, the world authorities will be quite busy for a while. Everyone will be on high alert so this is the only window of opportunity that we have."
From Vexus' luggage she pulled out a tube containing blueprints of the property where the gathering will be held. She spread it out on a glass table that was in their hotel room.
"To be completely honest. There is absolutely no point in having this blueprint. We will be entering the party as a couple, we're on the list and everything. Ah, which reminds me. You'll be going as Guillaume Versailles. Here's an image of him.."
Vexus handed Doppelganger a picture of the man he was to be taking the form of. It was an old subject of Elena's. Gutted and destroyed, quite literally. His body and all information relating to him is completely gone. The information was simply deleted, the body is a much, much different story.
"You can have a break on this one though, don't worry. You get to be my 'date' for the night and you can play it however you please. This time I get to play along. Fun, right?" She said in a pathetic attempt to add a 'fun' twist into their diabolical plans.
"For the majority of the mission, all you need to do is just blend in. Be part of the party. Enjoy the sites, eat, drink, be merry. All that. I'll be taking care of the ambassador. He's a bit of a flirt, to say the least, so I'll just be aiming to get him alone. That should be the easy part. If we're lucky this can all take place after the festivities and removing the body will be a breeze. If not, a couple of my guards have been integrated into our plan to extract the corpse need be. And voilà. You're the French Ambassador. "
The plan was extremely simple. Extremely straight forward. It may have seemed almost too easy. Vexus couldn't think of anything unaccounted for, and she had thought of literally anything. Everything was falling into place and her little charade for Dominus will soon come to a close, as any good performance does...
"Guillame's exit is up to you. You're an actor I'm sure you'll think of something. I will signal you at the proper time as to when you should be on your way out. As for the reentry, the easiest option I suggest is just to walk back in as if you forgot something. I'll put the cameras on an elaborate loop so that there's no evidence of your return, however if something happens I trust you can improvise to get back inside. And I hope that you trust in me that once you are in power, nothing shall go wrong..."
Vexus began to roll back up the blueprints and place then in the tube, then there was knock at the door. She got up and opened it to a couple of her Android Clones who picked up her bags and left on their way to her room.
"I do like my privacy, I'm sure you understand. But anyways, do you have any questions before I retire to my suite?" Elena said sitting back down on the couch in the living room of sorts.
She could feel that she was getting close to maximum operating capacity. Monitoring literally everyone in the world was a heavy task, even for a mind as mighty as Elena Vexus. The sooner she severs herself from this organization this better.
From Vexus' luggage she pulled out a tube containing blueprints of the property where the gathering will be held. She spread it out on a glass table that was in their hotel room.

Re: Relations Délicieux De La Mort
Doppelgänger looked down at the picture. Back up. Back down again. He blinked twice before sighing and shaking his head. "I can't copy a picture. I haven't studied him even if I could. I cannot be Guillaume Versailles unless you give me something more." He dropped the picture in front of Vexus and held the bridge of his nose between two fingers. Had she really come up with this plan for him? She really didn't know the first thing about him, and she claimed to know all. So she was no god after all. So much for those claims.
"Find me someone else that I can touch. Someone that can be displaced so that I can take his place. Someone still here... not some relic of the past." No, no. This wasn't going to work. Doppelgänger had never taken orders like this from someone for a reason. Directing his individual actions was his job and no one else's. "If you want this mission to happen, you need to start doing things my way. In fact, I will find my own way in. I am the master of blending in, after all."
Doppelgänger waved dismissively at her. "So you have your little fun. Just get the ambassador where I can have him alone. I will take care of my end personally. That is the only way this is going to work. Do I make myself clear?" He waited with his eyes leveled on her for a while, even though they were nothing more than borrowed eyes from his current mark. It really did not matter too much what she said, since he was done here. She'd get her alone time in her private suite. He needed to get working anyways.
In fact, he would not be sleeping tonight. The first clue he'd had that he was not human was his lack of need for sleep. Sure he faked it to perfection when he needed to, but he never actually got anything out of it like humans did. So Doppelgänger was going to start working now, since a proper guise could not be attained for him without his input. "You have yourself a good night then. I am going out..." So whatever she said while he was on his way out, he just turned his back and left. He hoped she was going to pick up the slack on her side of the job, because she had already slipped on her intel... for her own team at that. But no matter. He never was a team player.

Re: Relations Délicieux De La Mort
Vexus couple not believe her audio receptors.. What was this man even saying, did he understand just exactly what had dripped from his disgusting human mouth? One of the most powerful females on the planet and he had just talked back to her. In fact he had told her what to do. No, just no. That was not something that she could stand for. Impossible. Simply impossible. "Do I make myself clear" Those words kept echoing in her head. Put in her place by a lowly metahuman. This kid had some guts, she would give him that. Her hands began sparking with a black electrical current, she was ready to obliterate this boy. Kill him in the most diabolical way possible, bring him back and think of a new, more painful method of taking his life each and every time he was resurrected by her dark methods of science.
After he finished his bold rant of instructions he claimed that he would be going out.
"You will not take another step if you know what's good for you... Heh, well you clearly do not since you just decided to speak to your superior in such a manor as that. Know this. You are lucky, and nothing more. I said that I would get this job done, and plastering your brains on the wall of his hotel would not do much good for my reputation. Heed my words, human, you will regret this day for the rest of your life. Your pathetic habit of taking other people's shape will not save you from me. I will find you, and I will kill you..."
She said nothing more and allowed him to go out as he pleased. Vexus was fuming, her systems were programmed to exhibit forms of synthetic emotions, but this was much deeper than mechanics. Something burned within her, this primal lust to kill. There was nothing left of her that was human so such instincts should not be surfacing. In a fit of pure rage Vexus let out a large burst of lightning that tore apart the room that she had been in. The television set was destroyed, the fabrics were on fire in a black flame, the body guards that she had in the room had been damaged slightly but nothing major.
"Find us another hotel immediately. This man has caused an issue. Locate that slime give him a room key. As much as I want him dead right now we still need him for this mission.. This is why I absolutely despise working with people. They always get this crazy idea that they can just.... Uugghh. I need to blow some steam off. Leave me be at once..."
The two droids that accompanied her exited the room, and she waited for them to leave the building. As the two turned the corner to search for Doppelgänger an explosion echoed out from the floor Vexus has been staying on.
Once the drones found him they handed him the new address and the room key.
"The previous location unfortunately.. Could not comply with Ms. Elena's request so we relocated... Do return as soon as possible."
When he would arrive at the new hotel Vexus would not be there, however a note would be left with a man tied up looking exactly like the picture she had handed to him earlier. The note was as follows.
My dearest Doppelgänger, I must apologize for my actions earlier this evening. I should have done more research on who I was working with. You have control of the operation here-fourth and I will follow whatever plan you wish to execute. This is a delicate matter and I am confident that you shall succeed in scathed. Sincerely, Elena Vexus
Absolute bull shit.
