Sexual Content 2: Sexual content is permitted. References and writing about genitalia and sex acts are permitted, but explicit detail is not. Fade to black, or use the dotdotdot rule. (Let's keep it PG-13.)
Violence 2: Graphic violence is permitted. Explicit description or in-game narration violence is allowed.
Despite these ratings, keep in mind that there is a limit, and you should not cross it just to garner attention. Also, resorting to curse words is also like adding senseless fluff to your posts.

The Legacy |
Personality: "No, go on. I'm super interested. Really." Calling Paige "sarcastic" would be putting it lightly. She's extremely stoic, cynical, and most of what she says is as snarky as you can get. Nobody is exempt from her cold, apathetic, sometimes irritable attitude (save for a select few), whether they're a renowned hero or fearsome villain. To those she respects, Paige tends to tone down her rudeness, if only out of respect. Arguably though, she doesn't truly "like" anyone outside of her family. You could say that she's just afraid to open up to people, and she would reply with a deadpan remark about your infinite wisdom, then say that she just doesn't like anyone. Really. On a sidenote, Paige smiling is a rare sight, much like a jackalope. "It'll be hard to dislike you if you're dead, let's leave it at that." Paige is capable of having "acquaintances", maybe even friends, she's not anti-social as far as going out and talking is concerned. She's just the 'tough love' type. She won't hug you tight and tell you it'll all be fine, she'll tell you to face your problems head-on, and that you can only rely on others so much. She's definitely not heartless, contrary to what most might think, not the drill sergeant type either. When she has troubles, Paige is an embodiment of the previous philosophy to an almost absurd extreme. She'll stubbornly refuse assistance out of an embedded desire to be self-reliant. If you help her anyway, don't expect anything but an off-handed remark that she could have "handled it". "Hating people isn't worth the time or energy. But in your case, I'll make an exception." Paige dislikes a great many things, and it's easy for her to dislike someone if they fit any criteria for "Stuff Paige Doesn't Like". Hating someone specific is a whole other ballgame. With someone who treats most like they're not worth showing emotion to, garnering her full, unbridled dislike for your very being is something of a monumental task. She can handle being on the losing end of a fist-fight, or being cursed and called every distasteful name in the book, and even hurting the people she knows won't get her furious (though she will not in any way treat you seriously anymore for trying to use others to get to her). But if you, say, did something to hurt someone she cared about, you'll find that Paige has a very volatile side, and that she has a way of holding personal grudges. "Congratulations, you were competent for once." Paige isn't all sardonic comments and monotone snark. She enjoys life and all its attractions, even if she doesn't like to broadcast those feelings to anyone. She has grown to like certain people, and will continue to do so. However, she isn't a friend that will blindly ignore your faults. Do something stupid or morally questionable (by her standards at least), you can bet Paige is gonna call you out on it. Compliments come rarely, and often have a bit of a double edge to them, which can be a little jarring to those who expect ubiquitous praise for their exploits. Respect, something many take for granted, is earned. Paige wants reasons to respect her friends so that returning favors doesn't feel like a waste of time. Even if she's not on good terms with someone, she can have their back if they've proven loyal (helping out during tough times, for example). "I'm not a genius, I can't fly into space, and I can't throw buildings like baseballs. But I can pay attention, notice things that plenty of 'geniuses' overlook." Paige is an observant person. She can notice certain things that most people wouldn't realize, such as a logical fallacy, a falsehood in a story, or the implications behind a puzzling motivation. From this, she tends to quietly contemplate the information gathered until a reasonable hypothesis can be formed. Paige doesn't consider her logical thinking and memory skills a sign of cleverness, just common sense. History: |
The Powers |
Power 1: Papermancy - Paige has been blessed(?) with telepathic mastery over all things paper. This can range from napkins, toilet paper, ANYTHING that comes from a tree, basically. With a thought, she can bend paper to her will to do a multitude of things, such as increase its density so that it's as tough as granite, will a cluster of it into the shape of primitive weapons such as swords or lances, and in extreme circumstances, use a large cluster of it to cushion what would be a lethal fall. Her effective range is limited only by how much she can see her target, so if she can keep her eye on it, she can move it. Her skills extend to her hands as well; she can make the best paper airplane you'll ever see, and she has knowledge of every origami folding technique known to man (could be good for secret messages). A helpful side effect of being the master of her craft; it is extremely difficult for a telekinetic to override her control over whatever paper she's manipulating. Defensively, Paige's skills are somewhat limited. With adequate resources, it's very possible for her to make a human sized shield of paper thick enough to take one or MAYBE two hits depending on the ferocity of the attacker. The quality of the shield depends on the type of paper used, toilet paper won't do much, plain old notebook paper is average, and printing paper is the most desirable. The shield can, in some cases, be used as a platform to help her descent and avoid falls that would otherwise kill her. Offensively, Paige's options begin to open up. The "paper weapons" she can create are not as effective as their steel counterparts, but they can still pack a decent -- if not as sharp -- punch that is, again, determined largely by the quality of its construction. The trade-off, however, is their ridiculously low durability, with heavy winds or a single blow scattering the weapon into individual sheets of paper. For more low profile attacks, a single piece of paper, with enough velocity, can cause a severe paper cut.. Alternatively, she can simply make it stick to your body which is handy for quick distractions. Unfortunately, Papermancy has several glaring weaknesses. Though Paige can make paper tougher, it's still easily burned or soaked with liquid. Creating paper is impossible, unlike most "mancers", Paige can only manipulate her element. This manipulation is purely sight based as well, she cannot move what she cannot see, making blindfolds or other sight altering techniques a crippling weakness. As previously stated, the quality of the paper affects the effectiveness of Paige's attacks. Higher quality paper will serve her better than a lowly restaraunt napkin or toilet paper from a public restroom. Concentration is another issue. Paige needs to maintain a line of sight with the paper she's controlling as well as focus on keeping it under her control. While making sheets of paper move isn't terribly exhausting, any attack can easily break her attempts to focus.
