Down in Los Angeles, California which was as of now was the most populated city in the country, John Capore was just hanging out at the moment with really nothing to do after having taken care of all his important business as soon as he could. He was finding his new found habit of hectic managing of things to actually be working out well for him. He had gotten everything in place and was feeling better than he had been before. Now John was trying to get a signal from his phone but was having little to no luck. The service provider must not have good reception here. He wanted to make a call to his friend back in Albany, New York but it seems like this would not be the case. This hotel room was not picking up much of anything so he decided to head out to the balcony. He walked over to the balcony door and gently opened it all while constantly looking at his cell phone to see if it was gaining any bars. John stepped outside onto the balcony and as he did so a pretty heavy wind caught him and pushed him a bit. John recovered his composure from that strong gust and tried to see if he was gaining any reception. There was no such luck and the heights from which he was standing were bothering him so he walked back inside.
With nothing working for him in his attempt and feeling a bit hungry he headed out of the hotel room and down the stairs to the lobby to head over to a nearby diner in order to get something to eat. At the diner he ordered himself a pretty small and cheap meal since he was not all that hungry and did not want to spend too much at the moment. He slowly and quietly ate his meal all while routinely looking out the window on the ongoing events outside. For whatever reason he felt as if something interesting were going on nearby but could not figure out what it was and did not know why he felt that way. Whatever it was that was causing this feeling was just another thing to think about.

Re: Helping is what heroes do.(Switched)
Flashfire streaked through the air at high speeds, the plane coming closer and closer. He reached his hand out to catch the tail, hoping to save it from imminent disaster. Just before he reached it though, the nose smashed into the tree, completely wrecking it. Flashfire landed on the ground, his flames starting to crackle with increasing randomness. He could feel the irritation. He couldn't even save a toy plane from hitting a tree! He had all the power in the world, but no knowledge of how to use those powers to save people. Jade just left him hanging after she talked him into doing this hero thing!
Just as Flashfire's flames began tinting blue with his anger, a scream rent through the small park he was in. Flashfire blasted off with exuberance, the wrecked plane forgotten. Flashfire arrived at the scene of a corner diner. A man was walking in and had drawn a shotgun. The man had fired a round toward the ceiling to prove he meant business. After that, the woman screamed and now the gunmen was getting jumpy. Flashfire walked toward the door as the gunman was pointing the gun at the waitress behind the counter, demanding money. Stepping in, Flashfire withdrew his flames and announced, "I came for a hamburger, but apparently I'm being robbed of that chance. Why don't you put the gun down and come quietly?"
Immediately, the gunman twisted around, grabbing the nearest patron, an old man with a cane, and used him as a human shield. The gunman announced, "I want the money in the bag, and I want out of here safely. After those conditions are met, Grandpa might be let go unharmed. If anyone makes a move without my permission though, my nervous hand might just slip."

Re: Helping is what heroes do.(Switched)
John sat there eating in that peaceful diner until he eventually finished eating and the waitress shortly afterwards came over and grabbed his plate and cup and told him she would be back shortly with the bill. In between those events the peaceful diner stopped being peaceful at all. A man walked in and had somehow sneaked a shotgun around town without anybody noticing and had pulled it out in order to rob the diner. Why a small diner instead of something like a bank or even a bigger diner or restaurant at least was a curious thing to wonder but still it was being robbed. This man really wanted to rob the place as he fired the shotgun at the ceiling to let everyone know that they should surrender and let him take all the money or else he would hurt somebody. John was a few tables away from where the gunman was located and looking for the best angle to try and disarm him with his power when another person entered the building.
A young man came in through the door all hot and bothered. And by that he mean't wielding flames and looking angry. He instantly challenged the gunman in a fashion most well known as one used by some superheroes. John was not one of those that did so though. He usually disarmed them before offering them the chance to surrender. The gunman would take action against this and attempt a hostage situation. He grabbed a nearby old man to use against the fire wielding newcomer. With so many people distracted it made things easier for him to take action himself. John was stealthy in his approach and was able to fired a blast that was near invisible to anyone that was not straining to see such a thing and used it to knock the shotgun directly out of the robber's hands. The robber was sure to be shocked by this event and would surely surrender to the would be hero it seems now that he was disarmed.

Re: Helping is what heroes do.(Switched)
As the shotgun was knocked out the robbers hands, he immediately panicked. He dropped the old man and stuck his hands up in surrender. Flashfire, quickly covering a slip of surprise. extinguished his flames and stepped forward. Grabbing the man, Flashfire sat the would-be robber at a nearby table. He looked about, looking directly at John for a few moments with a look of knowing. He took a moment to make sure a group of people were keeping guard over the robber, and than walked to John. "Was that you that did that? I only do flames and something knocked that gun away. You're about the only person that wasn't freaking out. Thanks for the assistance if it was, but I had that one under control," Flashfire said to the man.

Re: Helping is what heroes do.(Switched)
He had successfully managed to disarm the robber, leaving his unarmed and far less of a threat to anyone in this diner. Now things would be easier for this fellow who was apparently a superhero to put a complete stop to the robber's efforts without any risk of somebody getting seriously hurt. The robber was in absolute shock over getting disarmed and immediately surrendered. The flame wielder took advantage of this new to occur scenario and forced the robber to take a seat and the nearest table and letting a few employees and patrons to watch over him while he came over and addressed John himself about it. He came to him asking if it had been John who had disarmed.
"Uh, do what exactly?" he responded aghast and confounded at this accusation. How could he have done such a thing? It just made no sense at all. Well, that would be something he would be able to think if it were actually the case. Okay yeah. He was trying to convince himself as he prepared to state a lie to this guy but he had good reason for it. Several in fact and those reasons took priority over being honest to this complete stranger. His reaction was completely nonplussed as he wondered why he was being asked such a thing.

Flashfire shrugged off the confused reply and said, "I guess I'm mistaken. It was definitely nice to see a civilian that doesn't panic than. Have a good day sir, and I'm sorry to have bothered you." Flashfire than moved back to the criminal, asking one of the waitresses if the group had the man. After verifying, Flashfire walked outside to the sidewalk and listened for anymore heroics that were needed.

Re: Helping is what heroes do.(Switched)
John's attempt to lie his way out of the accusation of having done something paranormal had worked. The young man had bought what he said and left. He just left after seeing that the group was keeping the robber in check so the police could come get him. Due to how circumstances like this worked he was stuck in there for a while longer until they arrived and allowed for the patrons to leave.
It was not long afterwards but still some time had passed. John was now walking down the road just checking around the neighborhood. That one guy with the fire manipulating powers was on his mind. That was not the first fire manipulator he had met. Thinking back he could remember 5 off the top of his head. Well 3 he was sure were fire. One was something a bit different but he did not know what it was. John was not sure why he was walking around but felt as if he should be.
