Brawl in the hills. Empty Brawl in the hills.

Post by Rex March 5th 2013, 10:41 pm

Rex walked into the open field terrain of Canada, the land was a flat expanse of deep green grass with large boulders and rocks and a mountain landscape ten miles away going west. The sky overhead was sky blue and open with not a cloud in the sky, the wind was blowing strong enough to keep most birds of prey in their nests. The open plains allowed the wind to blow much stronger than normal, since the flatlands caused high wind velocity. The young man that walked onto the battlefield after parking a 2010 Harley davidson with a modified muffler and jet engine was a strong warrior. He wore a black button up shirt with a leather jacket and black pants with white lines, and cowboy boots. He wore a ring on his middle right finger that had P.P. Engraved on the front. The man was a up and coming here who was known simply as "Rex" for he didn't bother hiding his true idenity.

Dropping the jacket to reveal his strong muscled arms and powerful chest, the button up shirt hugging his form to stay out of the way during a fight. His black leather belt carried a silver belt buckle with a fist on the front. His boots tapped the green grass as he walked deeper into the battlefield that once held peace and now would hold a battle. Popping his neck he rolled his shoulders feeling the power in them and his arms that circulated to his core. Rex always wondered how Super strength and endurance worked but he was never to question a gift. Rex turned his head looking around as he waited for his opponent to arrive. For now the terrain and view itself was beautiful for just looking at it. The battle that was about to take place would change this landscape for years to come but now it was beautiful. Rex felt a little put off that such beauty was going to be interupted but it needed to be done.

"Holy...shit."

Rex would hear the actress turned superhero as she appeared off to the side. Bethany had been delivered via chopper to the location just a little ways off...and she was still struck dumb by the beauty of this place. It almost seemed a bit ridiculous that this was going to be part of a crazy charity event. But it was for a good cause...hopefully they don't mess this place up too bad. Already the robotic cameramen were encircling them above, getting the best shots they possibly can for the public. Glancing up at the skittering things, Bethany would give a little thumbs up and a wink to the audience. Then, stretching a bit, she would turn towards her opponent. The man seemed well trained and able to enjoy the scenery just as much as she did.

Adjusting the form fitting bodysuit ( she had no say, her agency had signed a list of sponsors who wanted their logos on her uniform ), Bethany made her way over to Rex. The man seemed to be in quiet contemplation so she didn't feel too threatened to move closer. After all he seemed to be a man of honor. And the fight hadn't officially started yet.

"Heya. Wild place to have a fight, huh? I almost want to say we shouldn't mess up the landscape too badly. I mean look at it. It's beautiful."

(Not the tournament but will call it our charity event)

Rex looked over at the woman and gave a brief smile before looking back at the landscape, he breathed deeply tasting the cool clean air that spoke of wilderness and non-human contamination. The plains were normally alert with life for signs of grazing could be seen, however the sound of a Chopper and a Harley had scared the poor animals into their homes where they would be safe from the ensuing confrontation. Turning he nodded respectfully to the woman. "I apologize for not answering sooner, I was getting my sense of clarity. Yes this is a beautiful place where human hands has yet to rest their nature destroying touch on." His voice was warm and gentle since he didn't see her as a real opponent.

The young warrior had agreed to this for charity and funds to go towards the rebuilding of New York City, a place dear to him since it had been his home. Now it was a wasteland of destruction but hopefully with this they could start working on rebuilding his city. He turned to the woman and offered his hand. "I'm Rex, it's nice to meet you m'am." His eyes were soft but held a steady gaze as he sized her up. Personally he wouldn't have gone with a skin tight suit for even his dress pants were widened to allow full movement. After the possible initial handshake his fingers would move to his shirt where he would begin to unbutton it than twirled it around his arm to lay it folded on his muscular forearm. Turning, Rex wrapped his shirt up in his jacket than threw it. His strength sent the jacket and shirt next to his bike. His full upper torso was free of anything that could hold back or slow down a strike at a critical point. His skin was light bronze from training in the sun and heavily built. Eight pack stomach, thick shoulders, pecks, triceps, all were peak super physical making him look like some ancient gladiator stepping out of time onto the battlefield. His soft eyes had turned hard as he readied himself for combat.

( I'll edit the first post! )

Bethany took his hand and gave it a firm gripped shake. She enjoyed people with no ego. This man seemed to be all about the art in the martial, which was a refreshing sign.
"Bethany Klein. They call me the Wrecking Ball." Before he could get away, Bethany bro-fists him. Because hell yeah. "Let's make some money for a good cause, yeah?" She turned to get into her position, but turned around again and came back over. She whispered hurriedly in his ear. "Oh hey so, since this is for charity and the more we entertain the more people donate...don't be afraid to...you know...ham it up a bit. People love that stuff, ya know?" With a wink, she jogged a bit of ways away and cracked her knuckles, pointing at the camera encircling them above. The finger then came back down towards Rex.

"You're going down, buddy!"

And with that, the New York Charity Brawl had begun!
Bethany's body crouched down towards the earth; each part of her body began to tense as stone grey eyes narrowed upon her opponent. Her powerful legs would flex and she would explode forward from that spot, leaving a small gash in the earth where she once stood. Rex would get a straight on look at one of her powers...super speed. In fact super speed might have been putting it lightly. This girl was FAST. Bullet train fast. Though she may out speed the man, Bethany was anything but overconfident. Altering her course at the last instant before she ran into him, she dashed to the side and ricocheted off a nearby rock to come at Rex from the side instead. Like a soaring jet flying at top speeds she'd launch herself at Rex, curving her leg in mid air in a Muay Thai flying knee!

Rex smiled wamrly as she -bro-fisted- him and returned the gesture. "Defientely." He was about to get into position when she returned and spoke about making it a bit showy for the people at home, it made logical sense that people would pay more money the longer and showier it was. He nodded accepting the idea and watched her walk away. His own position took a different stance, his body balanced perfectly as he set his right leg back slightly and his left leg bent forward. His hands came up one hand (The Left) took on a Knife edge look while his right hand came back in a fist. His senses alert he readied himself for the coming brawl.

Than he lost sight of her as she sped around him and came at the side, the move so unexpeced the knee collided with his side and sent him rolling on the ground, he turned the roll into a stand, the moment his feet touched the ground he slammed his fist together causing a title shockwave that echoed 360 degrees. The shockwave ripped up the ground as it spread out in a ten foot area in case she had used the chance to come at him again. The blow had been a tickle it was more her velocity and the unexpected side attack that cost him his balance. Already his side was clear of the possible pain or bruise. Healing was his third power and punches, broken bones, lacerations hell it was all healable. After the shockwave he readied himself again for the next attack.

Bethany was indeed right on top of him as the man recovered, but was routed by the sudden shockwave in the ground. So instead she was forced to take several flips backwards to avoid losing her footing. Smart. As the dust settled, she took stock of the damage she did with the knee. Not so much. It looked like this man was either incredibly durable or he had some kind of healing ability. Which meant more work for Bethany. Which meant this was going to take awhile. If this were a real fight to the death, she may have been worried. However due to the nature of this fight, it only meant more excitement for those watching...so this was very much a good thing! In character, Bethany, in character. She did her best to hide her smile.

"Some fancy healing isn't going to protect you from me, got that? I'll just have to knock you out in one go!"

With a sharp grunt of effort, Bethany dug her foot into the hillside and threw the large rock she had ricocheted off of into the air and, in one fluid motion, sent the large boulder flying towards Rex. With the large rock blocking his view, she'd sprint behind it masking her view from the other martial artist. If he were to either try to dodge the rock or punch through it, he'd find Bethany on the other side, ready with lightning quick headshots with fists and elbows. She knew he was strong. Possibly stronger than her and definitely able to recover from wounds. So her plan now was to bring on the pain as fast as she could while doing her best to avoid counter strikes with pure speed.

And the plus side? It all looked awesome. You could hear the cheering from here.

Rex smiled watching her as she spoke, he kept his silence instead letting his mind work through scenario after scenario of what could be done next and what could be done without breaking her bones. This was a match for charity not for the real win. He had no intention of permanetly damaging a fellow hero over a charity event. As the boulder came out him he smirked and stepped forward. His hand came out and with the palm of his hand he didn't shatter the rock he sent it back which if she was right behind it the boulder would smash into her doing twice as much damage from the volley return of a objects velocity being reversed suddenly.

If the rock missed or she shattered it, the woman would find a massive fist coming at her. He knew he couldn't keep up with her speed, but his healing factor would allow him to get up over and over. His durability would keep him from taking any real type of harm so knocking him out was out of the question. Rex however wasn't going to eliminate the notion of her being a danger for she was very dangerous. He would fight her to the point of really harming her at that point he would accept the defeat.

Bethany gave a light speed blink of surprise as the rock was sent flying back at her. Oh well. Plan B. Using her momentum she would tackle the boulder in front of her forwards, using it more like a battering ram to collide into Rex. His punch would find itself embedded within the rock itself if he threw it. The Wrecking Ball would continue to speed along until they collided with a nearby hill, at which time she'd speed backwards to further access the situation. Something like this would probably have little to no effect on the man. And he was too good of a martial artist for Bethany to just walk up and start swinging. Too strong as well.

She'd hover close to where the rock shenanigans occurred, ready and quick on her feet to respond to whatever counter attack Rex would throw at her.

The longer they could keep this fight going, the more New York makes in relief funds!

Rex ran backwards under the push of the boulder from the other side, rather turning it into a dangerous push and pull match he let the woman take the lead. His steps ended at the base of a large hill where he set his leg against the rock wall and refused to budge another inch. The pressure on the other side vanished and the boulder that had become a interest in the battle was tossed aside losing its importance. He stared across the field of battle at Bethany and smiled a approving smile. His hand slid easily into the rock wall a idea in his mind.

His hand sunk easily through stone like ones hand would sink into water, the stone around his arm now had a purpose in this fight. With a shot from his left hand the stone sharpened and splintered. His right arm in the stone pushed out and dragged the shrapnel stone bullets. With a final pull the stone around his arm exploded out and sent thousands of toothpick sized shrapnel stone at the woman, the amount of the small but sharp stones spread out forming a blanket of shrapnel that spread out as wide as half a football field.

Rex rushed behind it, he knew he didn't have her speed but if he got close enough he could really bring this fight around with his skills in the martial arts. His steps were lumbering but backed by considerable power and destructive force.

"Aw crap--"

As the bullet storm of debris shot her way like an enormous shotgun, Bethany would do her best to speed about the shattered pieces, knocking ones out of the air the best she could. While she was durable, there was no point in just standing there and taking the brunt of that attack. A few stray shots of sharpened stone would sting against her skin, annoying but unable to break said skin. As the last of the shards began to fly by, Bethany felt the ground shake beneath Rex's powerful advance. It's true she has the speed in spades, but being hit by Rex was seriously not on her to do list today. She'd take extra precaution to keep outspeeding him.

"Here goes nothin'."

As the man neared, Bethany would run directly at him full speed and, before making contact, she'd draw her legs up to slide along the grass below him, aiming her powerful legs along with the velocity behind them square into Rex's chest! If it hits, hopefully it'd knock the stronger man into the air to give Bethany a few seconds to come up with another game plan to win this fight other than 'hit man and hope does gud'.

Rex continued his charge behind the barage, he watched with a smirk of admiration as she worked her way through his earth barrage. Her movements and actions were flowing from one way to another it was admirable. He came to a stop as the barrage ended and bethany charged at him her speed kicking in, he had expected this again. His body set into a stance where his strength and weight were set to be unable to be moved. The slide came as a slight surprise but as the legs slammed into him his stance kept him in the same spot.

His head looked down at the woman laying on the ground and her legs planted on his chest, his hands reached down in the attempt to grab her legs and lock his iron grip around them. From there if connected he would yank her up and slam her into the ground four or five times before throwing two right hooks for her jaw. All of this rested on the point of him grabbing her legs that were still planted on his chest.

"...Well this is awkward."

Bethany would flash a cheesy smile before the man grabbed hold of her legs before she could scramble away. And then the part where he did that cleaning-out-the-dirty-rug move on her wasn't so much fun either. Something along the lines of "OW. OW. OW--" would probably be heard. On the fourth time she was lifted up, Bethany would have had enough of these shenanigans.

A literal flurry of hard Muay Thai elbows would rain down into Rex's face as Bethany curled towards him on the way up, each striking pressure points against the temples and eyes. She knew at this point he was super tough and a regeneration nut, so she assumed he'd be fine. It was just an opportunity for her to get away. After the harsh combo of elbows to the delicate parts of the face, she'd try to stomp against his collarbones to try and spring free from his grip!

Rex stumbled under the pressure of the blows to his temple and eyes than the collision with his collar bone pushed him down to one knee but he kept his hand locked around her leg. He swung her leg to bring her body around aiming to collide his fist with the center mass of her face using her own momentum of the swing to add power and extra strength behind the blow. If connected he would release his hold on impact to send her soaring away from him and a good three hundred yards to a landing whether it was on her back or her feet he wouldn't tell.

The blows that rained on his body stung but already his wounds were healing for while they hurt they were minor wounds that soon the pain was completely gone. He stood up his eyes shining with the love of the fight and this woman was giving it as good as she got. He was impressed with her skills and her talent for combat. He gave a slight nod of his head in her direction as a show of respect for her combat skills and her gifts that she utilizied so well.

Well that didn't work out as she had hoped. Bethany couldn't get away, but she was still fast enough to see the punch coming. Her arms would interlock in front of her face and block the brunt of the strike, launching her body in an arc over the field. Fortunately that radioactive accident that granted her these physical powers also granted her something else. Using her Momentum Sense, Bethany would expertly twist her body in mid air and land ( albeit skidding ) on her feet against the dirt. Hissing slightly and shaking her forearms, Bethany took a little breath before sizing up her opponent. All right. So definitely don't get hit. Bruised body parts aren't fun.

"...All right. Enough of this street brawling shit."

In an instant, Bethany would be in front of Rex again. This time in a proper martial arts stance. The power of the Muay Thai stance stems from the ability to knee or elbow from a multitude of angles and positions and she worked this expertly into her mixed martial arts style. The full frontal, wild swinging assault having failed, she was going into professional fighter mode. Her unearthly fast strikes were going to be pin point accurate due to her special Momentum Sense ability; speed was not going to be suffering from a lack of power today. Blazing grey eyes would swallow Rex's form, watching for any move as if in slow motion. To start out, Bethany advanced and moved in stuttered and lighting fast twitches, being in one spot then the next. For every punch Rex could throw from this distance, Bethany could throw four to five. To start out, she wanted to break his stance. Any martial artist knows one's stance relies not in the power of the legs, but in the breathing. Fists and elbows that could barely be seen would be thrown at Rex's diaphragm. Even if he could regenerate, the blows would temporarily take the wind out of his stance!

Rex blinked only to find the woman standing in front of him in her own Muay Thai stance, a smile formed on his lips as the first blow to his body came but already his style had changed. The impacts collided with his flesh found more than durable resistance but trained resistance to high powered damage. The Martial style was known as Iron Body and designed to take precise point damage to his entire frame. To say it didn't hurt was a lie but it allowed the body to shut out those things and focus on the now. Bethany was every place at once her muay Thai style giving her excellent advanatge from her positions and Rex couldn't help but admire this about her.

His own style of Wushu mixed with Iron Body allowed him to manuever with the blows for while he didn't have her speed he had much more training. His body angled with the blows that came minimizing the damage and on occasion even catching knees and elbows against his super hard flesh that coming full speed and impact would most likely bruise her body and do more damage to herself than to him. He watched her pattern as the blows continued until he stepped past a raised knee and threw his own elbow aiming center mass for the chest between her woman qualities and just to the left of the heart. If the blow landed it would send the woman soaring away with a heavily bruised chest that would cause temporary damage to the lungs much like being struck with a bat in the abodomen.
