EverSteed
Name: EverSteed
Abilities: The EverSteed has many magical properties, but its body is physically weak compared to other horses.
Unearthly Form
Despite its unearthly form, it can run at incredible speeds, even while carrying one or two riders. It does not have much physical power, however. Its kicks would be even weaker than that of a normal horse. It doesn't have much fighting ability either. It can do little more than panic and flail when left to defend itself. Generally, it will flee rather than fight. It will however, listen to its master's commands and charge into battle if it is called upon to do so. It cannot speak, but despite not having a throat it can let out a deathly eerie shriek, like a banshee's wail. Asides from being soul shatteringly frightening to those with weak resolve, this wail doesn't have any special properties.
Unnatural Vitality EP 4
EverSteed can restore its body after receiving injury. It can heal minor wounds in seconds, and small wounds with in a few minutes, though it must concentrate on this and cannot recover if its still taking ongoing damage. It can regenerate limbs in a matter of days, but it'd be impossible to do this in the midst of battle.
Planes Strider EP 2
EverSteed has a limited ability to shift through the plains of existence. It can shift into this plain of existence, but it can only appear besides its master. Its master being the one it made a contract with. Other than that, it can only shift back to its own plain of existence, a dimension of emptiness and death. Its ability to perform these shifts is also limited to itself. It cannot take other creatures with it between planes either.
Ever Bond EP 1
EverSteed has a limited form of telepathy with only one other entity, its master. It can 'sense' its master's will no matter where he is or what the distance is between them is. This bond extends even beyond dimensions. However, EverSteed is not intelligent enough to speak or to comprehend complex language. It is however intelligent enough to understand basic concepts on the level of a trained animal. It has the ability to change its master, by severing the bond between it and its current master and creating a new contract. Although it would need great reason to do so, on the level of its former master betraying it or simply dying.
Appearance: EverAfter is a large intimidating figure. It is a ghostly figure, its flesh and skin is made of a dark shadowy energy. These shadows mimic the shape of the muscles and flesh that a horse should have, and allow it to be touched and ridden like a normal horse, but also wounded like one. However, the shadowy energy is always swirling and smouldering. It is partially transparent, revealing its bones beneath it. Its skeleton is solid bone, and its structure is that of a normal horses' skeleton with one extra bone, a large sharp horn on its head. Its mane and tail appear to be made of an eerier blue flames, though they do not actually generate any heat.
History: EverSteed was never truly alive, though it has come have life through the formation of its contract. Originally it was an ephemeral spirit that existed in a plane of existence beyond what mortal beings can comprehend as existence. The nature of its existence was very volatile and fleeting, until a great power reached across the dimensions and gave it new form. The power of this great witch twisted the energies of its very soul for her own purposes. She turned this innocent spirit into a contract beast. She gave it a suitable form for the purposes she had intended for it, and had it and another form a contract. According to this contract, in exchange for heeding the call of its master and obeying him, it would gain the chance to walk amongst the living world, where it could experience a new form of existence. Its new form craved this experience, and so began its new life of servitude.
Its master was an empty shell of a man, known as The Pale. Serving as this man's steed was not unpleasant, but it true bond between them could not exist for the man's mind was not his own. He was simply a puppet of the witch who created them both. Their were weapons for her dark agendas, but that all came to an end when the man's mind slowly began to return to him and he was banished from the witch's side. EverSteed was contracted to The Pale, not the witch, and it had no reason to return to The Witch who had forced it into this inescapable cycle of strife and struggle called 'life'. And so, it has decided to continue to honor the contract, despite this dynamic shift in the relationship between the witch, The Pale, and itself.
