The Long Hunt Empty The Long Hunt

Post by Spartan999 October 12th 2012, 9:04 pm

Isaiah Shaw strode through the crowded Rome airport, large dufflebags slung over each shoulder. Each was filled to bursting with various equipment he would be using in the coming days. Back at the New York airport, he had used a baffler to sneak the items through security. He regretted the deception, but it was necessary; he had been hunting a dangerous metahuman for some time now. His target was a very elusive sociopath, who sometimes waited years between murdering, stealing, and various other, more unpleasant types of crimes. Even with his considerable intelligence and access to the US crime database, he hadn't been able to discover who was behind the gruesome atrocities until a few more bodies had turned up south of Pittsburgh. Needless to say, he didn't often leave the Pittsburgh tri-state area to hunt down people, let alone the United States. However, he knew that if he didn't stop this metahuman, many more innocents would die.

A cab pulled up in front of him. The trunk popped open, allowing him to slid his duffle's inside. He closed it, then bent as he sat in the backseat.

"I would like to go to the Boscolo Exedra Hotel, please." Isaiah said to the driver in perfect Italian before he could say anything. The man nodded, then turned the wheel, maneuvering the car out and into the street.

Isaiah glanced out of the window, his thoughts racing even quicker than usual as he considered what was to come.

The Long Hunt Empty Re: The Long Hunt

Post by Chellizard October 13th 2012, 1:26 pm

"Madam! What are you doing!?" came a worried shriek from a petite woman.

"What does it look like I'm doing, daaaahrling?" a much richer voice replied, still a feminine set of vocals.

"You're going to spoil your appetite for your lunch meeting at the Boscolo Exedra!" repeated that melodic feminine voice, a 'hmph' following after.

"You know I enjoy a nice helping of my guilty pleasure with my in-flight meal!" the woman replied, laughing with a hand holding her shuddering stomach.

A slender hand was laced around of a crystal wine glass. Intricate gold leaf patterns crawled up and around the glass, bleeding into the lip of the glass. Her form was leaned back, relaxing in the singular cabin of her private jet. She was tucked into one of six lavish seats nestled around a small table decorated with a few treat trays and a fresh plate of hot towels. The glass, beautifully clear, was filled to the brim with slowly warmed O negative. She tipped the glass and finished the rest, her eye color changing from a deep red to a glowing honey auburn. She blushed lightly when she caught a glimpse of herself on the flat screen television that was currently off. "Shall I have another glass prepared my mistress?" cooed that soft, melodic feminine timbre. "No, my sweet Anna.. Let's go over the necessary things for today's meeting."

The flight to Italy was comfortable, and filled with boring jibber jabber of the one reason this little jet had to be in Rome before one o'clock in the afternoon. Talks of becoming a very large part of a rising company that would feature Chelle as their top investor; that is, if the meeting goes well and she likes what she'll be offered. Chelle moved a bare hand and shifted a few of her relaxed curls from her face. The dark brown tendrils were mainly up in a messy bun, but a few whispering curls did manage to frame her face. Lips, a bit pouty, were painted a luscious crimson. Not from the drink she had, but from a lovely lip stick from Yves Saint Laurent. Her eyes, a bit wider almond shaped, were lined in black with lashes curled and precisely decorated to match her gorgeous gown. The dark teal material, depending on the lighting, would seem brighter, or almost black. The intricate folds and cascading layers of the skirt were surprisingly light in weight despite the amount of material. The open V shape that cut down the chest of the dress gave an individual covering for her bosom. Lace was cupping each supple mound, the silky teal material, of course, covering her breasts in all the right places.

The plane landed smoothly, Anna rising to escort her Mistress from the small cabin. "James will have your bags taken to your car," she said, smiling brightly. Anna was glowing, and her hair looked healthier than it ever had been. The white straight strands bouncing with the fox demon's every step. Chelle rose a slender brow and let that thought settle into the corners of her subconscious where it would likely stay. "Thank you my love. I assume the car is ready and waiting?" she asked, stepping down the shallow stairs to the concrete runway. The sun was mildly shrouded by clouds, keeping the atmosphere warm, but not too bright. Her form was the main attention now. Her shoulders, upper back, upper chest, and arms complete bare were being touched by the sun's soft, winking embrace. The clouds had parted just a bit, and it was almost ironic. Chelle was keeping her gaze on her small cellular device before she was a few steps from the plane. Once she could pull her attention from the device, she looked up and ahead of her; heads were turning. She pulled a pair of large sunglasses to cover her eyes, a few jaws dropping as each of her strides consisted of one click and a tap. The stilettos she wore clicking out a nice rhythmic pattern.

The airport was surprisingly vacant street side for pick ups today, which was good. James was placing her bags in the back of the escort black BMW when Anna opened Chelle's door. She glanced down the street and noticed a few individuals getting into their taxi's. A man, quite handsome, looked like he was definitely from out of town. She over looked that and climbed into the car and enjoyed the ride to Boscolo Exedra. Ironically, she stepped out of the car, and was staring at that same man that had got into the Taxi. Anna had noticed the same coincidence and looked at her Queen with a bit of worry. "Do you think it could be a Dominus agent..?" she asked in a hushed whisper, her form standing closer to Chelle's in a guard like fashion. Chelle moved herself around of Anna, protecting her instead. "I doubt it, let's see if we can find out a bit about him.." she chuckled and brushed passed Anna and casually bumped into the man. "Oh! Scuzi!" she said, lifting her sunglasses to look him in the eye.

She gave him a bright, romance movie smile and winked before whisking passed him and into the building. Maybe she would run into this stranger after her meeting. Anna was behind of her as Chelle made it to the conference room, the double doors being opened to her by a bell boy who announced her arrival. "Miss Takeiro has arrived," he chimed, stepping back and giving a very polite bow her way. She smiled and stepped into the room, taking her glasses off completely. "You're late," chimed an annoying catty tone. Her eyes cut daggers and sent them straight toward the blonde woman who spoke ill toward her. "When you're depending on me, and I'm late? It only means you were all early." Her comment rose a bit of laughter from everyone, save the blonde woman. Chelle seated herself, Anna perched next to her with a brief case.

The meeting passed by quickly, and was over before everyone had time to finish their lunch. Chelle rose from her chair was exiting the room, a large check written to her for her land that they would be using for the location of their weapons factory. Anna filed the check away and the two of them made it to the lobby. "I'm going to stop for a refreshment. Meet me by the car." Chelle said to Anna, whom of which complied and stepped out of the lobby to wait with James. Chelle carried herself to the bar, several married men twisting their heads around to keep their eyes on her luscious form. She placed herself in a comfortable chair at the bar, her legs crossing while she caught the bartenders attention. "Oh wow; what'll it be madame? Whatever it is, it's free." She chuckled and gave her order; a glass of their finest scotch. When it was served to her, she took a sip and closed her eyes and listened. Being who she was, or what she was, was so odd when she had to try and fit into a normal life. Sometimes she wished that she hadn't lived as long as she had. You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.. and right now? She was a hanging thread in the balance.

The Long Hunt Empty Re: The Long Hunt

Post by Spartan999 October 13th 2012, 2:17 pm

Upon reaching the hotel, Isaiah slid some money out of his back pocket and paid the cab driver, then retrieved his duffles from the trunk. He set one on the sidewalk, then donned a pair of sunglasses that had an advanced HUD built in. He glanced around briefly to set the display, then grabbed his other bag and started walking towards the front door, only to bump into an attractive woman while looking in the opposite direction.

"Oh! Scuzi!" The woman said. He recalled seeing the back of her head as she entered a BMW while he was loading his bags into the trunk of his taxi. Odd, that she had come here as well.

"Sorry, I didn't see you." He said, hoping she wasn't a tourist who only knew bits of Italian. His eyebrow lifted when she smiled brightly and winked before entering the building. Slightly bemused, he tentatively walked through the doors after the unknown woman. His eyes flitted over to the reception desk, which he walked to and started talking to the man behind the counter about his room.

***

Isaiah looked at himself in the mirror, eyes narrowed as he studied the charcoal-grey suit he was wearing. He lifted his left forearm and extended a concealed blade with a flick of his hand, then retracted it and reached inside his coat. A small silenced pistol was withdrawn from the concealed holster beneath his arm, the clip slid out to recheck the bullet count before replacing it again. With practiced ease, he flipped the tungsten shortsword out from the side belt holder and caught the handle after it extended. He whirled it a couple times, then spun and sheathed the collapsed version. It would take a trained eye to see the concealed pistol, while the blade and shortsword were essentially completely hidden unless one knew they existed beforehand.

The vigilante reached down to pickup a small briefcase containing a small, modified laptop and an automatic Glock, then turned and headed out the door. The bar downstairs seemed like a decent place to go. Upon arriving in the somewhat crowded room, he took a seat at a far table. He declined the waiter, giving the excuse that he was waiting for someone who would be arriving shortly.

Some time after arriving at the bar, he had long since hacked into the hotel's network and was currently sifting through the list of tenants while a subroutine checked security camera footage.

"At least the wi-fi's good here..." He muttered, eyes hopping from name to name, picture to picture when those were available. He blinked upon hearing conversation in the bar die down a few degrees. He surreptitiously looked up, and his eyes immediately fixed on the cause: the same woman he had bumped into earlier. His eyes narrowed as he thought rapidly.

Coincidence? Possibly. Was she targeting him? Possible as well, but what would someone have to gain by killing him, even if they knew he was the Faint Shadow? Maybe one of the crime lords he had toppled in Pittsburgh had had friends or family who wanted revenge. They would need impressive resources to track him all the way here, though. Or was she an ally of his target, and was attempting to kill him? Unlikely...

Hundreds of answers presented themselves to him in the time it took for her to walk in, take a seat, and order a scotch. He decided not to do anything about it for the moment, as he didn't want to cause a scene. And if it was just coincidence, he didn't want to perturb or frighten an innocent person because of several suspicions.

Isaiah kept searching for his target's information, but kept a wary eye on the unknown woman. One didn't survive in Pittsburgh by having absolute trust in strangers, after all.

The Long Hunt Empty Re: The Long Hunt

Post by Chellizard October 13th 2012, 2:48 pm

Her attention was mainly on her scotch, but she took advantage of the busy bar and glanced around. She had a feeling she would bump into that stranger again, and lo' and behold- there he was. She laughed to herself and then rose up from the chair and took long legged strides over to the man. To not cause a scene, she smiled and spoke a bit loudly, but only as if she were greeting a long time friend. "Ah, there you are. I was beginning to think you wouldn't make it," her rich Italian accent bleeding passed her lips before she leaned down and pecked both his cheeks. The motion was clearly so she could get a decent look at his laptop. Her hair cascaded her view, skewing it too much. She did not want to look like she was snooping, so instead, she sat down and looked at him with a complacent smile. "Are you following me?' she asked, her hands wrapping around of her glass of scotch, her bare shoulders shrugging gently while she got herself comfortable. Her legs crossed, left over right. The toe of her left stiletto was pointed directly toward his crotch, so if any sudden movements occurred, she would be ready to give him a somewhat fatal kick in the family jewels.

She licked her lips and let her right index finger run around the lip of her short yet wide glass, and then slip down the side to rub against the sweating glass. The scotch was on ice, of course, the condensation being drawn in with her fingertip. A few wet circles were now dressing the outside of the glass, and her attention was solely upon this man, a small smile playing her lips. She was wearing gorgeous jewelry, a hand tailored gown, and looked like she was worth more than some of the most priceless items known to man. The scar on her chest just above her heart was the only flaw that was noticeable, save for the bullet hole scars on her mid and lower back. Just a few of the scars were noticeable because the back of this gown was not as low as some of her others. "Don't be shy," she purred, a smirk lacing her lips now. "I don't bite... unless I'm provoked to." She had glanced down while she spoke, looking at the amber scotch. She then flicked her gaze back up to meet his; eyes smoldering.

The Long Hunt Empty Re: The Long Hunt

Post by Spartan999 October 13th 2012, 3:16 pm

Isaiah flipped down his laptop as the woman walked over, then tensed when she leaned in to kiss both cheeks. His left hand came up slightly, prepared to jab into her abdomen if she made a move. Fortunately, she merely sat opposite him and asked whether he was following her. So...she wasn't ignorant either. He bet she was some type of metahuman, and her alluringly confident pose spoke volumes about how she wasn't afraid of him.

He considered for a moment before replying. "No, I have not been following you. In fact, I was wondering whether or not you were tailing me." He barely noticed out of the corner of his eye a large bald man with a dark red tie enter the room. His face was scarred, and he walked with a slight limp in his right leg. The target...

Isaiah's face hardened perceptibly when the man took a seat at the bar and order a drink, then swiveled in his seat to scan the faces around. What really disturbed Isaiah was that his gaze focused on the back of the woman's head; she didn't see, obviously. A predatory grin spread across the man's face before he turned back to start drinking. All this he saw without breaking eye contact, somewhat helped by his sunglasses' HUD.

"Damn..." He muttered, bringing his briefcase up, then sliding the laptop inside. He kept it on his lap, with one hand on the pocket holding the Glock.

The Long Hunt Empty Re: The Long Hunt

Post by Chellizard October 13th 2012, 6:28 pm

Her brow rose again, a soft laugh passing her lips. "Well, that's kind of a relief.." she said, her Italian still not breaking, but it being softer than before. She lifted her glass and sipped the thick, yet smooth scotch and then furrowed her brows at her new companion. Well, he was for now. "Hmn, so.. We could get to know one another? I was here for business, but I wouldn't mind staying just a bit longer to share a drink or a plate of fries with you," she said, raising her hand to tail a waitress.

The woman quickly came to Chelle's aide, eager for a tip or any kind of business. "Yes? What shall I get for you?" the girl asked, her tan skin, green eyes, and dark hair screaming authentic Italian. Her accent and choice of word tense also proved her authenticity. Chelle, not authentic, could replicate this girls' accent and keep it sounding one hundred percent authentic. "A bottle of your finest, that is, if me and my friend are staying. If not, I'll take a bottle to carry home with me." She smiled and pulled her small clutch purse from only god knows where and pulled out the appropriate amount. The amount being a nice piece of plastic.

The waitress took the card and hurried back with it once the receipt was ready. Chelle signed, and kept her copy and then tucked away her credit card and receipt. Spending money was no issue for her. She was, after all, one of the richest women in Italy at this very moment.

The Long Hunt Empty Re: The Long Hunt

Post by Spartan999 October 13th 2012, 7:00 pm

"Listen to me: we cannot stay here." Isaiah muttered, his tone urgent. "If you truly value your life, follow me and do not look back at the bar. I will explain everything in my room." He paused right before saying something further. "Uh...that came out wrong..." He thought for a moment, then sighed. He withdrew his laptop, tapped a few keys, then slid it over for the woman to see. On the screen was the entire portfolio he had managed to obtain about his target; namely his picture, places he had gone, and various murders, rapes, and robberies, the crimes often having occurred subsequently to one another.

After a few moments, Isaiah spoke up again. "He is right behind you, and it looks like he's already singled you out as a good, ah, target." He paused to let his words sink in. "And trust me when I say that you do not want him coming after you, bodyguards or not." He attempted to keep his expression cheerful to give the impression the two were having a regular conversation instead of discussing how a psychopathic metahuman stalker might be attempting to kill one of them. To prove that he was right, he stared at an icon on his HUD and blinked twice, which linked the video feed from his sunglasses to the laptop. In the popup video, the woman was able to see the man clearly as the mini camera zoomed in on the scarred face.

During the entire exchange, the criminal had been sneaking sideways glances at their table, but obviously didn't want to make his initial move in a public area without planning a bit first. Isaiah cautiously popped open the pocket containing the Glock, but didn't draw it. Not yet. The armor piercing rounds would only irritate the tough metahuman anyway.

The Long Hunt Empty Re: The Long Hunt

Post by Chellizard October 13th 2012, 8:11 pm

"It did come out wrong.. but," she was cut off by him continuing to prove his point. She used her form hunching over the computer screen to cover what she was viewing, and then her heart sunk. Dominus. She had no idea if this man in front of her knew who Dominus was, but they were the ones that knocked on her door and were waiting for an ass whooping. She held up a slim finger and closed the laptop after she saw the live feed that was obviously from his glasses. "Impressive," she said, but continued, "Name a language you can speak that my stalker cannot and we'll converse in that," she said. She then picked up her phone and dialed Anna as quickly as possible, holding the phone to her ear. She spoke in Latin, one of the most dead languages to boot. "Dearest Anna, it seems trouble has found it's way to my door again. No, do not panic, my love. Go to the Mansion. I'll be home shortly. I'll let you know when I'm on my way and then you can draw me a bath." Anna was panicking on the other line, but the fox demon knew her mistress could handle herself.

"Let's head to your room then," she said, the perky waitress returning with the wine. "Ah, thank you." She accepted the bottle, warm, but would put it on ice once they were in Mister Technology's room. She gave a soft smile and stood herself up, her hand sliding to grab for her new 'savior' with a laptop. She sha-shayed her hips, walking alongside of him like they were either a couple, or long lost lovers. She struck up a laugh as she made it out of the bar hand in hand with him, keeping their cover until they were clear of the bar and lost in a sea of people in the lobby. "Elevator or stairs?" she asked him, a slender brow raising while a soft smirk played her lips. She enjoyed being a part of games like this, and the only reason being because she almost never lost. She would tie, but would never lose.

"Latin seems good." Isaiah replied conversationally, one hand holding his briefcase as he walked along with the woman. In keeping with the couple facade, he even put up a kind half-smile that was almost unseen in more recent years. At the question about whether to choose the stairs or elevator, he nodded over at the elevator. "Quicker, and he might be able to attack us in the stairwell. By the way, I never asked for your name. I'm Isaiah."

They stepped into a recently opened elevator. Luckily, no one else was around to enter it as well. Isaiah proceeded to push the floor seven button, then turned to bring Chelle into a passionate kiss as the doors slid shut. This was, of course, for the benefit of the metahuman stalker, who was leaning casually against a wall outside the bar and staring across at the elevator.

Isaiah broke the warm embrace a couple seconds after the doors closed, his expression stoically impassive. He drew the concealed pistol and put it into the briefcase, along with the hidden blade and shortsword. He then started undressing, only to reveal a black skinsuit under the expensive charcoal-grey suit. He gathered the clothes under one arm, then grabbed his briefcase and exited the elevator when they reached the seventh floor.

He reached up to tap the side of his glasses, which sent a signal to the modified door controls in his room. It opened, allowing the two access. He strode in, then tossed his clothing aside and set the briefcase at the foot of his bead. His hands grabbed a duffle bag and brought it on the bed, which he promptly unzipped. Inside was his nanoarmor, the surface seeming to blend with the interior of the bag.

The vigilante deftly pulled the undersuit over his body, which was quickly followed by the armor plating layer and helmet. He opened the other bag, which contained several weapons. He tossed a silenced magnum to Chelle along with some spare clips, then pulled out his railbow and slid it on his back, the shortsword sliding into the sheath on his waist a couple seconds after.

His senses pricked up when he heard the elevator open, along with the sounds of heavy footfalls on carpet approaching his room.

"Figlio di puttana." Isaiah muttered, drawing and extending the railbow in one smooth action.

The Long Hunt Empty Re: The Long Hunt

Post by Chellizard October 14th 2012, 12:43 pm

She was about to open her mouth and give her name, her eyes fluttering while she turned to talk to him. She was taken aback when their lips were molded into one another, and she honestly had no idea what to do. She closed her eyes, and made it look real. It, oddly, felt real. It made her heart hurt a little, and as soon as the elevator was closed, she pushed him back and stepped to the opposite side of the empty elevator. "Are you kidding me? Warn me next time.." she twitched her hand and flicked a bit of hair from her face, her hand searching her lipstick to do a bit of retouching. Not that she needed it, her lips were a gorgeous color without the lipstick.

Once they were inside of the room, she finally decided to mutter her name, but gave a code name for the sake of keeping her slightly 'famous' identity a secret. "Entity," she said, her hand taking the gun. She released the ammunition clip to check how many rounds were present, and then slid it back into place and cocked the gun, placing a bullet in the chamber and made sure the safety was off. She stuffed the two other clips into her cleavage and sat down on the bed. She took off her stilettos and glanced around for a knife and then decided what the hell. She ripped the skirts of her dress until the gown was lighter and easier to move in. Her nails were now long claws, but if Isaiah noticed, he might be wondering what kind of 'creature' she was behind of her feminine facade.

She licked her lips and then stood back up, her legs dressed in lacy panty hose. The scantily clad patterns crawled up the length of her long legs and was hidden by her now shortened dress. It looked as if it were tailored down to mid thigh; a new style. She picked back up the gun and before Isaiah opened the door, or the man arrived, her skin started to gray and her eyes became a deep crimson. Her voice became devilish as well. "Agreed," she said, hearing the foot steps grow ever closer.

Isaiah cautiously started walking over to the window, railbow aimed at the door. A popup on his HUD displayed footage from the security camera outside the room. The metahuman criminal was slowly walking around, eyes seemingly closed and nose held up high. Isaiah pulled a headset out of his duffle bag and tossed it to 'Entity'. When she had put it on, he started talking through the COM--with the sealed helmet, no sound escaped it as he spoke.

"It looks like he can smell us somehow." The vigilante muttered, eyes narrowing. He had noticed the woman's newly grown claws, but he didn't question it. "I...did not anticipate that." Through the camera feed, he saw the criminal step up to their door. His back was to the camera, but Isaiah bet he was grinning sadistically. The man knocked on the door, the sound seeming even louder due to the silence inside the room. He knocked again a few seconds later.

"Please let me in. I would hate to ruin this beautifully carved door frame." The metahuman said in a surprisingly soft voice, though it was audibly tinged with a hint of laughter and malevolence.

Isaiah responded by charging up his railbow for a few seconds, then firing. The bolt made a hole in the door, splintering the wood before slamming into the criminal. He staggered back from the impact, but it only looked like the railbow had bruised his chest. Growling, he kicked down the door, sending fragments everywhere.

He was met by an explosive bolt, the detonation tossing him out of the room and back into the hallway. The metahuman's apparently expensive custom tailored suit was on fire, but he patted it out without showing a hint of pain from the licking orange flames. The skin that could be seen through his shirt was charred, but it didn't look like it had drawn blood.

The vigilante jerked his head at the window. "Ladies first, 'Entity'."

The criminal rushed forward, only two powerful stride propelling him towards Isaiah. He vaulted over the superman punch, which smashed into the wall behind him, causing bits of drywall to scatter over the metahuman. When he angrily withdrew his fist, the entire right side of his torso was covered in white dust.

The Long Hunt Empty Re: The Long Hunt

Post by Chellizard October 14th 2012, 2:05 pm

She caught the ear piece instinctively and put it in it's appropriate place, her voice soft, but picked up by the device. "Might be me.. My smell is a little different than a humans." She muttered this very gently into the headset, her eyes glancing a fleeting look of mild panic toward Isaiah. She had no idea if that were his real name, but she was assuming it to be a code name for purposes unknown. She started to walk backward, her hair bouncing slightly with each precisely silent step. Her semi backless gown gave Isaiah a good view of a few bullet wound scars, showing a bit into her past. The reasons for the scars were unknown to him, but they did show a story that was honestly a decent one.

She readied the gun, remembering the height of the man, so she had the gun positioned at his head. She had a feeling it would not do too much damage; the gun of a low caliber and it certainly would only piss him off more. It was nice to have, but she would likely retort to her fists. Her fangs were a bit longer, her skin gray, and her eyes that lovely crimson color. She swallowed the moment the railbow was fired, sending a powerful bolt to shatter a hole into the door. The arrow only pissed off the man, and a few rounds from the hand gun she had were fired in a result of the arrow not doing much damage.

The bullets seemingly bounced off of the metahuman's skin, and fell to the ground with soft thuds on the carpet. When the explosive arrow was fired, her arm instinctively rose up to protect her face from any debris caused by the blast. "Ha! Not in this world," she said, commenting to his 'ladies first' offer. She did step toward the window, but was not about to leave Isaiah behind. She lifted the edge of her skirt and tucked the gun, safety on, into the edge of her panty hose. She then allowed her claws to extend a bit more. She watched Isaiah and let her eyes flit from him to the enemy. She chuckled darkly and bat her eye lashes. "I bet I know why you're here." she said, using the moments of the metahuman having his hand stuck in the way to her advantage.

She came forward with a raised fist, her form rushing to get into his range. She then slashed down and her nails, without flaw, cut straight through the mans flesh down to the bone on his shoulder. The small crimson spray was lovely, and would seemingly make her dark teal dress even darker in some spots from the blood that speckled the material and her gray flesh. She then allowed that same, bloody claws, hand to reach and attempt wrap around the man's throat. He was a bit faster than her and wrapped her wrist and strung her up like a set of Christmas lights. She kicked and flailed lightly, then hiked up her dress with a moment of panic and pressed the gun to his skull and squeezed the trigger.

The Long Hunt Empty Re: The Long Hunt

The metahuman grunted in pain as the claws scythed through his flesh, then reached over to grab Chelle with both hands, one wrapping around her wrist while the other started to throttle the demon-like woman. He put her in between himself an Isaiah as the armored man aimed his railbow. He was somewhat distracted by the vigilante, and so didn't stop Chelle from pulling out a magnum and shooting a round into his temple. His head jerked from the impact, but the slug dropped to the floor, crumpled from the impact with his tough skin.

Isaiah holstered his railbow and drew his shortsword, the black blade swinging out with a flourish. Using Chelle's distraction, he sprinted towards the criminal and slid to the floor, the edge of his sword slicing through the side of the metahuman's calf. The man stumbled forward, but regained his balance and swung Chelle bodily around to slam into a lunging Isaiah. He smashed through the wall and into the adjacent room, slightly dazed from the impact.

Meanwhile, the metahuman spun and bodily hurled Chelle out of the window. He turned back to face Isaiah, who was facing him in a crouched position. When the man blinked, he sprang, blade flashing. He slammed into his chest, sword stabbing at his ribcage before he had even opened his eyes again. The metahuman criminal staggered back, more from the pain of the blade than Isaiah's weight. With a growl of fury, he wrapped his arms around the vigilante, lifted him into the air, and threw him out of the window after Chelle, but not before Isaiah had gotten in a retaliatory slash at his right forearm.

Isaiah spun in the air for a second before using his hand anti-gravity boosters to stabilize the fall, and the leg boosters to slow the last two seconds of his fall. He rolled off the remaining momentum, then glanced around to search for Chelle before glancing back up at his room.

The Long Hunt Empty Re: The Long Hunt

Post by Chellizard October 14th 2012, 3:00 pm

She groaned in pain, not that it hurt so much, when she was handled like a ragdoll, a shrill hiss passing her lips. She was jarred in the motion and lost her grip on the hand gun, it scattering from her hand to land on the window sill. She allowed a growl if distaste to pass her lips, a very animal look crossing her features. Her fangs were barred and her jaw bowing to the point of dislocation.

Her toes rubbed against the posh rug that was scrunched up under this metahuman's weight, her form lowering when the man buckled. "Let me go!" she demanded, crying out before she was used as a baseball bat. She grunted and gasped in pain, the two clips for the gun popping out of her cleavage to fall and clatter on the hardwood floor that was exposed with the rug heaped in a pile near the window.

When she felt the man rear back to throw her, she braced herself, her arms coiling around of her. The moment she was hurled from the window, her wings sprung from her back instinctively. The sound of popping and cracking was made and then the wings were present, a small trickle of blood running from the slits in her skin. There was no pain from this transformation, but it did look and sound it. Her wings spread and she readjusted herself and flew up a bit higher. She landed on the lip of the building and caught her breath, her hands moving to adjust her strapless gown so it was hugging her body a bit better.

When she heard a grunt and then saw Isaiah tossed from the window, and the crowd on the street was eagerly paying attention, she decided to land next to him. She let her wings spread and she dropped from the building and swooped down, landing softly next to him. As if on queue, the clouds had thinned and the sun was shining behind of her, so her shadow was cast upon the ground beneath her. She landed next to him and gave him a curt nod, her gray skin, red eyes, wings and vampiric features being her 'disguise' for this time being. The few people around of them were terrified, but also in awe and a few were clapping. Others were confused, and then a few were running in fear.

She sighed and looked at him, her headset slightly hanging off of her ear, her hair tangled to keep it from being lost in that messy encounter. She adjusted it back on her ear and chuckled. "Nice moves.. you all right?" Her wings stretched and ruffled before folding behind of her one after the other. She was itching to tear into that metahuman, but the sound of sirens was lingering near and that meant they needed to get out of there as soon as possible.

The Long Hunt Empty Re: The Long Hunt

Post by Spartan999 October 14th 2012, 3:43 pm

"Oh yeah, it's not like being smashed through a wall and subsequently tossed out a window would injure anyone." Isaiah replied snarkily, not really surprised at Chelle's new appearance. "He's still very much alive and kicking, though." As if to accentuate the vigilante's point, a boom sounded as the metahuman criminal smashed through the wall and landed with a grunt on the sidewalk below. The concrete cracked beneath his shoes, shards of it scattering in the nearby area. He rose to his feet and glared at his two opponents, crimson staining his clothing, though unfortunately there wasn't much of it.

"You good at running?" The vigilante inquired, backing away from the massive man slowly. "I would prefer to get him away from here, with so many innocents around."

The onlookers nearby were backing away now, some wise few actually turning tail and fleeing. They started screaming when the metahuman charged, his stride only slightly affected by the cut on his leg. His footfalls gouged out large holes in the street, the pulverized fragments and dust spraying up behind him, oddly reminiscent of a dust cloud.

Isaiah sheathed his blade, drew a grenade and primed it, then dropped it to the ground behind him as he turned and sprinted away from the metahuman criminal. A second later, the grenade exploded, staggering the large man and giving the vigilante and Chelle--if she was going with him, of course--a better distance and speed advantage against the evildoer.
