Personality:
Loki's personality type at its very basic is contradictory. He's a pragmatic idealist, which is a confusion in itself. Loki's the type of character to plan ahead by ten to a hundred steps, but his methods of execution can tend to be problematic, as he chooses to make decisions that seem ridiculously complicated to everyone else involved. Always thinking at high levels, Loki finds the more complex plans to be those that he wishes to go about acting within. His words are to be watched closely, for while he may be telling a truth, it may have up to an infinite amount of falsified information as well as fine print, so to speak. He does have good qualities, though. He has a strong sense of family, which belies an intense type of loyalty for those who earn it from him. Loki's not trustworthy in the least, but he holds oaths in high regard, for so long as everyone is quick enough to close the holes in an agreement. He's polite, civil, and actually spares the time to avoid conflict where it's not necessary, and for the most part avoids outcomes where people die. He's the type to be mean and tricky with those he actually likes, but if you given no reason to pull his more dangerous tricks, he makes for a good ally and/or brother in arms. He's also ridiculously in need of affection, which, while not exactly a good trait, should be an indication of how lonely he feels, and how easily his insecurities can be handled if cards are played right. Loki forces himself to become aloof from others, even his own children. The only known exception is that of Vali, his youngest son, and the son that resembles him the most. It is unknown whether this is a pure love that comes from being the father, or whether it is a love that comes from the ego stroke involved in watching his seeming duplicate master and destroy every obstacle placed in his way, and thus proving that Loki is not only the master or teacher of a prodigy, but the father and creator of one - as well as one himself. When around others, as already mentioned, he may act polite, and even may string lies around them to make them feel loved, or important, but he does not hold his other sons in as high regard. Narfi, the other son that he created, with the goddess Sigyn, is the other that becomes unclear about Loki's real emotions. Much in unknown about Loki, and he holds a pretty illusive and mysterious shroud of half truths around him to guard where he is vulnerable.
History:
In Norse mythology, the evil trickster fire god, always mischievous, deceptive, and scheming, and one of the most well-known characters in Norse poetry and saga. As his name is derived from the Germanic root of flame, Loki is believed to have originally been a fire spirit. He was a trickster figure, and, as a shape-shifter, could become different animals at will. He was the father of two sons, Nari (or Narfi) and Vali, by his wife, the Asynjur goddess Sigyn (Siguna). But since he could also assume the shape of the opposite sex, he could give birth, and he had a number of other offspring in this way. In the surviving literature, Loki's name is mentioned more than that of any other god, and he is certainly one of the most inventive conceptions in folklore. He was a participant in many of the gods adventures, often accompanying the principal god Odin, or Odin's son the thunder god Thor, on their travels, though he was always stirring up trouble. Loki was able to charm everyone, despite his deep cunning, with his cleverness and good looks. In the 'Prose (or Younger) Edda', Loki is cited as one of the 12 Aesir gods. Strictly speaking, however, in the Norse pantheon Loki was not a god but a giant, since he was the son of the giant Farbauti (Dangerous Striker) and the giantess Laufey, or Nal. This is why he was sometimes referred to as Loki Laufeyiarson. He had brothers named Byleist and Helblindi. Although he was usually an antagonist to the gods, he sometimes lived in Asgard, the heavenly realm of the gods. The gods and the giants were usually enemies, but at some time in the distant past he had taken an oath with Odin that made them blood brothers, and because of these ties, the other gods enjoyed his company and tolerated his excesses and schemes until they got out of hand.
Loki was always thinking up new angles - sometimes these worked to the advantage of the gods, but often they led to disastrous consequences. When the gods burnt the giantess Angerbotha as a witch, Loki ate her heart and as a result became impregnated. He gave birth to three monstrous children who later threatened the world: the wolf Fenrir, the serpent Jormungand (the Midgard Serpent, or World Serpent), and the goddess Hel. Odin flung the serpent into the depths of the sea that surrounded the world and set Hel down in the underworld to be its queen. The Aesir were able to leash the huge Fenrir, but the god Tyr lost his right hand in the effort. According to the 'Prose Edda', it was Loki who thought of a plan to cheat the architect and builder of Asgard, a giant, out of his payment. Assuming the shape of a mare, Loki seduced the giant's stallion Svadilfæri. The horse was essential to completing the work on time, and the dalliance delayed the giant's task. In this case, the gods were grateful for Loki's intervention, for had the giant finished on time, they would have had to turn over the sun, the moon, and the beautiful goddess Freya to him. As a result of this episode, Loki, as a mare, gave birth to the swiftest horse in the world, the eight-legged Sleipnir. Loki had a hand in the disappearance of the goddess Idunn. He lured her outside Asgard so she could be kidnapped by the giant Thiassi. Since Idunn was the keeper of the golden apples of youth, which the gods needed to eat to keep from growing old, they were anxious to get her back, and they therefore forced Loki to use his trickery and magic to retrieve her from Jotunheim (Giantland). Loki aided Thor in deceiving the giant Thrym, who had stolen the thunder god's magic hammer, Mjolnir. Thrym wanted to exchange the hammer for Freya, and Thor himself went in her stead, impersonating the beautiful goddess. Loki accompanied him, disguised as Freya's handmaiden. Loki's quick answers to Thrym's questions about the bride kept the ruse from being discovered too soon.
Loki was a seasoned thief. He stole Freya's famous Brisingamen necklace and hid it in the sea. He fought the god Heimdall in a battle for it in which both of them assumed the shape of seals. The shining god Heimdall, watchman of the gods, was a particular adversary of Loki's. Their animosity was to culminate at Ragnarok, the battle at the end of the world, when the two gods would engage in mortal combat and kill each other.
In another story Loki cut off the beautiful blonde hair of Thor's wife, Sif. Thor was ready to kill him, and Loki, fearful but always scheming, promised to make Sif a better head of hair out of pure gold that would root and grow just like real hair. After calming Thor's rage with this promise, Loki went to the Sons of Ivald, dwarfs of the forge. He had them make not only the golden hair for Sif, but a magic ship, Skidbladnir, and a magic spear, Gungnir, which later belonged to Odin. But Loki loved to gamble, and he wagered with two other dwarf smiths, Brokk and Sindri, that they would be unable to forge objects comparable to those made by the Sons of Ivald. Brokk and Sindri then forged the magic ring Draupnir, a golden boar, and Mjolnir, the magic hammer that Thor was to use ever after. But as they worked, Loki, who had disguised himself as a fly, stung them continually to distract them so that he could win his bet. When the gods had seen all these marvelous objects, they declared that Brokk and Sindri had won. Loki vanished, but Thor caught him. Brokk wanted to decapitate the trickster god, but in the end Loki convinced him merely to sew up his lips so he could no longer fast-talk his way out of difficulties. But Loki painfully pulled the threads out of his wounds and was free to lie again, and the gods were the beneficiaries of the wonderful magic creations the dwarfs had made.
In some stories, Loki is merely too clever for his own good; in others, he performs terrible acts out of sheer maliciousness, jealousy, and spitefulness. A poem in the 'Poetic (or Elder) Edda', describes how Loki intruded on a banquet given by the sea god Aegir for all the gods and goddesses. He had not been invited, but since he was polite, they let him stay. Then he began to viciously insult each of them in turn, no matter how conciliatory they tried to be. Since Loki knew most of their secrets, he was able to genuinely embarrass them all. Finally Thor's wife, Sif, offered him a bowl of mead, and asked him to stop his insults. Loki drank it, but then revealed that he had once had a sexual encounter with Sif. Immediately Thor appeared, ready yet again to kill Loki, and Loki began insulting him as well. Finally, afraid that Thor would carry out his threat, Loki left, still in a foul mood, saying that the gods would never again have such a banquet and cursing the host, his home, and all his possessions with the statement that they would all be set aflame. This mention of destruction by fire was a foreshadowing of Loki's role as leader of the forces of evil at Ragnarok.
Loki's most terrible deed before the end of the world, however, was to cause, through trickery and sheer maliciousness, the death of Balder, Odin's beautiful and peaceful son, whom all the other gods loved dearly. Loki disguised himself as an old woman and tricked Balder's mother Frigg into revealing Balder's weakness, and then tricked Balder's blind brother, Hod, into killing the innocent god. After Balder's death, Loki, disguised as a giantess named Thokk (Thanks), was the only creature in the universe who refused to weep for Balder's death, and this meant that Balder would have to stay in Hel until the end of the world. This time Loki had gone too far, and the gods, in their grief and anger, had to punish him. Knowing that they would come after him, Loki fled Asgard and hid in a mountain. At its summit he built a house as a lookout from which he could see in all directions. But he often turned himself into a salmon and hid in a waterfall called Franang (or Franangr). Odin soon spied Loki's hideout from his lofty tower throne, Hlidskjalf, and the gods came after him with a fishnet. At first Loki was able to avoid it, but Thor, with his great strength, waded along the middle of the river until the net almost reached the sea. Finally Loki, as the salmon, had no alternative but to leap up over the top of the net, and as he did, Thor got hold of his tail. Once captured, Loki was taken to a deep cave. The gods took three stone slabs, set them on edge, and made a hole in each. They sent for Loki's sons Vali and Nari (or Narfi). The gods turned Vali into a wolf, and he immediately tore his brother to pieces. Then the gods took Nari's entrails and used them to bind Loki across the stones, with one stone under his shoulders, one under his loins, and one under the backs of his knees. Once bound, these cords turned into iron. The giantess Skadi brought a poisonous snake to the cave and set it above Loki's head so that its poison would drip onto his face. There they left him, and there he would stay until the time of Ragnarok, when he would break free of his bonds, summon up all the wretched souls in Hel, and lead the forces of evil in battle against the gods. But until then he would remain bound, with his faithful wife, Sigyn, holding a basin over him to catch the poison drops. When the basin filled she would go to empty it, letting the poison drip for a brief time onto Loki's face. At these times, Loki strainecd at his bonds and jerked so hard in his agony that he rattled the Earth. This was the Norse explanation for the phenomenon of earthquakes.
However, the rest was not captured in myths. While Loki watched the gods abuse his children, causing them to kill each other in a bloody attempt to prove that Loki was wrong and bad, he risked his own magical abilities to conjure the strongest magic he could possibly conjure, allowing the preservation of Narfi's soul, breaking the laws of what god owned what, seeing as he was not a god of either preservation, nor was he the god of creation. It was simply magic at extremely powerful levels. Because of this, he learned how to contort the souls of others, and bend them into shadow forms, or even full forms of their bodies, and transport them. From his position, he was able to move all of his son's souls into different realms, as images of his loved ones. After this was completed, he used the spell on himself, and went about bringing Radnarok unto Asgard, causing its downfall into the bronze age, so to speak. Now Loki has come to the human realm, where he plans to meet up with his most beloved and favorite son, Vali to discuss their next course of action.
Powers:
Master Of Runic Magic:
Loki is often regarded to as "the god of mischief and the master of magic." Both are true, and both are the same. He goes about making mischief, chaos, and trouble with his magical abilities. As a psuedo god, and not actually born of the Aesir blood, he has had to create his own identity with this magic, as well as earn himself the reputation that he has earned with his immense skills in the art of arcane arts. The magical nature of his skills comes out in the norse runes, powerful omens that each hold unique properties that, when used in the hands of an experienced magic user, such as Loki, are able to conjure numerous things, in many different forms. Because of this, Loki's magic is extremely versatile and takes many different forms, depending on whatever magic he uses.
When being used, Loki's magic takes a very standard form. Like seals that can crawl on and off of his body, he is able to bring forth the runes from his soul, having memorized them, and worked with them to the point that he actually became one with them. When Loki uses any given rune, a rune will fade to life in the form if a concentrated and precise light, varying in color depending on a lot of things. Each rune will appear somewhere on Loki's body, and he has control over where it appears, however each rune must appear upon being used. In fact, each rune will appear just before use, and this is a major downfall in terms of combat related issues, seeing as the opponent could not only see the glow, and know to avoid the spell that is upcoming, but memorize which rune leads to which spells, should they be able to see the runes at conjuration of the spell. Each spell has different abilities, and each has different levels of effectiveness. What is more, not every spell is instant, another downfall to make up for the huge variety that he has when using these spells. The more powerful the spell, the longer it takes to conjure. Some spells have their own side effects as well, depending on the nature of the spell. What is more, when using each spell, Loki must speak the rune's name, another indication of which spell is about to be used, and another time consuming down fall. Below are each of the runes that make up the Norse alphabet, and the abilities that lay with the given rune:
Fehu, the fire rune. In the Nordic alphabet this rune stands for the letter F. This rune is an offensive rune that Loki possesses, and one that, after the name is spoken, is rather instant. It is one of Loki's most directly offensive runes, and has the ability to spit flames and fire, not unlike a flame thrower from wherever the rune appears on his body. Because of this, Loki will often place the rune on his hands, and cause fire to spew from that point. This rune, being his most common method of attack and even defense earned Loki the esteemed name and title of a fire god. The flame generated from this rune is extremely hot, and more red than most fires, as if pigmented by the magic that generates it. This says nothing about its heat. The flame spews up to twelve feet ahead of his person. There is, however, another incantation that goes along with this rune, and that is the ability to manipulate already existing fire. After spoken, Loki will be able to extinguish, move, or increase the size of already existing flame in the area of his sight range.
Uruz, the alcohol rune. This rune is used as a prerequisite to other combative strategies. After conjuration, this rune takes three full seconds to muster before the glowing rune will sputter to life on Loki's tongue. After this happens, Loki will be able to spew a large amount of slick liquid onto the ground. Although this rune is the rune of alcohol, it is debatable whether the substance is actually alcohol, despite its clear and strong smell of such. This liquid is slick and slippery, however has another main property that goes along with it - it is highly flammable. Like napalm, this thick liquid is very hard to extinguish once it has been lit afire, and is thus nothing to be tampered with in combination with flame. Every use of this spell will allow Loki to spit large quantities of this liquid from his mouth, materializing from the rune that is often placed on his tongue.
Thurisaz, the thorn rune. This is a basic rune of defensive and terrain changing nature. This rune, after spoken and thus conjured takes a full ten seconds to bring forth. After this time, the rune will come to life, often upon Loki's hands. Once the run is created, whatever it touches will be effected by the spell. This spell causes large thorns to spike from the surface of something, as if the affected thing was originally built to have large protruding spikes coming from it's surface. In this way, once Loki touches something with this spell, large spikes, like thorns, will begin to grow along it's surface, quickly covering space, about ten feet per second. The thorns vary in size, depending on whatever Loki wishes, however they can only grow to be up to ten feet long/tall. These thorns cannot be placed on organic material, or living things, such as people, animals, or plants. However they can be placed on walls, ground, inanimate objects, clothes, and so on and so forth. What is more, although the thorns cover ten feet of meterial per second, they cannot cover more than there is to cover, obviously - the spell only infects the object that it directly touches. For example, if a pot on a potted plant was touched, the pot would be infected and grow the spikes. These spikes would not also be grown in the soil. Walls can only be infected together if they are connected, and thus all part of one mechanism. These thorns are very sharp, and pointed.
Ansuz, the calling rune. After the rune's name is spoken, it is semi slow to activate, taking about ten full seconds. This rune is one of Loki's favorite runes, seeing as it has the ability to mimic the appearance of another person entirely, and extremely well. With the activation of this rune, the glow of the rune will take over the body of Loki, and change it. Unlike illusions, this is an actual change similar to shape shifting. This is another rune that claimed Loki's fame in myths as a shape shifting god. There are downfalls to this rune, however. While this rune changes Loki's form completely, genetically, and at a cellular level to match someone else that he has seen, he is completely unable to use other runes while his form is changed. This leaves him completely unable to defend himself while he is in the form of another individual. What is more, despite the change being at a physical level, and being pretty much perfect, there is a main difference - Loki does not gain the physical attributes of the individual, such as strength, endurance, or anything to that effect. While his skin may feel thicker, should he turn into someone that has thicker skin, and thus a higher endurance, a bullet would still hit him just as hard as it would while he was in his natural form. What is more, while in another form, his voice changes as well, to match that of the other, copied individual. This can also permit changes into animal forms, where some physical changes may be used as weapons, such as claws, teeth, etc. This allows Loki to change into an animal that has the ability to fly (as paid for in the power grid). His flight speed varies, depending on what it is that he turns into. Should he wish to transform back into his normal self, the transformation back is instant, and takes no time at all.
Raidho, the riding rune. This is a basic rune that is used to bring forth a conjuration of a mount should it be needed. This spell can, in effect, summon an aspiration or familiar that is used to ride. The familiar is completely unable to attack or properly defend, seeing as it is only physical to the people(s) that is meant to be conjured for, feeling like a ghost to any and all others. This allows attacks to go straight through the familiar and straight to the ones riding. This familiar can take the form of a ghost like giant hawk, an ample horse, or a dolphin that is slightly over sized. After the rune's name is spoken, it takes a full second to conjure the familiar.
Kenaz, the kick rune. This is another basic rune that is often used as an instant offense or defensive rune should it be needed. After being spoken, the rune will come to life anywhere on the body that is needed, and expel an invisible force of energy like a sturdy kick. This kick is delivered at different powers, depending on how long it is "charged" before use. This charge works like this: should the kick be used instantly, its strength will only be that of 1, an average kick. When held for a half second, the kick is at 2 strength. When held for a full second, it is equal to 3 strength. When held for two seconds, it is equal to 4 strength. When held at four seconds, it is equal to 5 strength. Finally, when held for ten seconds, it is equal to 6 strength. This cannot exceed a six on the power grid in terms of strength. The charge can be held for longer, and it will only have the ultimate power of the six, no more. While this run is being charged, another rune cannot be used.
Gebo, the silence rune. This rune's functionality is extremely simple. After speaking it's name, the rune will instantly flicker to life somewhere on Loki's body, often on his hands. From there, whatever Loki touches will be unable to emit sounds at all, in any form. Should this spell be placed on a human, for instance, that human would be unable to generate sound in any way; should that human punch glass, stomp on the ground, or scream, no sound will be able to be emitted. However, when this rune is prescribed to something/someone, it will appear in the same dim glowing fashion somewhere visible on them so that it can always be seen. This is the basic application of this rune.
Wunjo, the warm rune. This is another rune that is simplistic in nature. However, this rune is a rune that takes time to prepare, seeing as, despite its simple nature, it is a rune that targets large areas, as well as specified and more confined areas. After the name is spoken, this run will take a full minute-hour to conjure, depending on the power wanted. This rune has the ability to cause a certain location to change temperatures, and raise it's heat level at extreme levels, and quickly. A full minute or charge will allow a single room to be effected, and a full hour will cause an entire large city to be effected. If time is taken up to 24 hours, an entire state can be effected. No other runes can be used during the charging time of this rune. Temperature fluctuation can be controlled, and raised at will after the rune is set. Temperatures can be raised up to 150 degrees F, making areas hardly livable. Loki is impervious to this heat, however he cannot make others impervious in the same way, making the rune tricky to use properly.
Hagalaz, the mist rune. This rune is very simple. After the rune's name is spoken, Loki will begin to perspiration a large amount of mist at a quick rate, able to look like a powerful smoke bomb went off. This is a simple, instant rune often used to escape. The mist is basic mist, made of water vapors, like other mist, however Loki has the option of coloring it for dramatic effect should he want to.
Nauthiz, the needing rune. This is another basic rune that, upon being spoken, takes three full seconds to take effect. After the rune is brought forth, Loki will be able to summon an aspiration that changes in terms of appearance that serves the function of a butler. It has no special fighting ability, and average human stats. It is purely used to help with menial tasks. This aspiration can talk, and Loki can control what it says. This aspiration can only be up to a single full mile away from Loki at all times.
Isa, the sleep rune. After the rune's name is spoken, it will flicker to life, normally on Loki's hand. This acts as a sedation, but can only be used on the willing. This can be used as a way to put someone to sleep, should they be restless against their will, or act as a pain killer to wounds of any spectrum. This does not heal in any way, but can provide relief in these basic ways. This cannot be used on someone against their will. when used, the rune will glow on them somewhere where it can be seen, and the duration of the rune is controlled by Loki.
Jera, the year rune. After the rune's name is spoken, Loki has to wait a full minute. After this minute is waited out, Loki will have the ability to change the aesthetics of the day in terms of what time. This does not give him any kind of time manipulation, but it gives the appearance of such. After the rune is used, Loki can make the day seem darker, lighter, earlier, later, based on changes that are made, often to the lighting in the sky. Many regard these as unforeseen eclipses, when he makes it night, and others just think that light is coming in strangely early when he brings light. This is the only function of this rune. This does not change temperature, weather, or anything like that. Just the lighting in the sky can be changed.
Eihwaz, the picking rune. This run also serves a very basic function. After the name is spoken, the rune will instantly appear on Loki's body, often on his palm. Should this rune come in contact with a lock that is locked, such as a door, chest's lock, or other basic locks, it will be able to unlock them. Locks made from gizmos, and specialized computer locks are not effected by this rune's effect, and will continue on being locked as if nothing happened. This only applies for locks in the everyday world.
Perthro, the poem rune. Once the name of this rune is spoken, it will instantly come to life, often on Loki's palm. Once Loki touches a substance, he can leave writing on it. That is all. This writing is completely permanent, and cannot be scrubbed, or wiped off at all. This writing can say whatever he wants it to say, and can be any size Loki wishes.
Algiz, the letter rune. This rune, like Perthro, manipulates written words. Once the rune is spoken, it takes three seconds to come forth, often on Loki's palm. Once any work of literature is touched by this rune, Loki can rearrange pre written words on it, and change them as he wishes. He has to be able to see the words though, and has to be able to see the changes that he is making.
Sowilo, the sun rune. After the name is spoken, Loki can create an orb of light that can be thrown or held onto. This light can shed large amounts of light onto fairly large areas. This light is not hard to look at, and it is not hard to look at. Looking at the actual orb itself for too long can prove to be painful to the eyes, but it is nothing blinding, although able to generate enough light to cover most areas, unless they are extremely expansive.
Tiwaz, the daily rune. This rune is similar to the Jera rune, only while the Jera rune manipulates natural lights in the sky, the Tiwaz can activate any working lights in a building, or indoors, to flicker on. This works even if light bulbs are missing, or light bulbs are dead. This rune takes three seconds to charge.
Berkano, the birch rune. After this rune's name is spoken, the rune will flicker to life instantly on Loki's palm. Loki will then touch the ground, and a large tree will spring forth from the ground. The tree, despite the rune's name, looks a lot more like a large oak tree. This rune has the ability to conjure a large tree, and have it grow at an accelerated rate to reach full development in about three second. This tree is thick, like an average healthy oak tree. This rune has no other abilities.
Ehwaz, the day's rune. This rune, after its name is spoken, will often appear on Loki's mouth, over his lips. After this rune us used, he can send his voice anywhere in the world, and have it resonate and sound from any desired location at any level of volume, the loudest possible option being loud enough for a large group of people to hear in a large city, full of sounds. The smallest sound that can be brought about is a whisper in someone's ear. However, if Loki does not know the exact location of someone, then he cannot pinpoint such accurate sounds. If he knows the person, and has spoken with them, or heard them speak, or vise versa, then he can pin point them no matter their location and commit the sound. This does not mean that Loki will know where they are, just that he will be able to communicate with them.
Mannaz, the mankind rune. Once this rune's name is spoken, Loki can use this rune's power to find someone's location. If he has met the person, seen them before, or knows their full name is speaks it, he can use the rune to find the individual no matter where it is that they are. This will give Loki an image of where they are, as well as an internal latitude and longitude, so to speak. This rune takes five full minutes to find someone that is not within the immediate vicinity. Should the person be within normal eye sight, this run will instantly find them, and Loki will know where they are exactly.
Laguz, the life rune. This is Loki's only medical rune, and it is used to heal injuries with provided time. Should Loki speak the rune's name, the run will appear anywhere on his body, normally on his palm. This rune is then used to touch the wound on either himself or another in need. When this rune make contact it will leave an imprint of itself on the wound and begin the healing process. Because of this, wounds will begin to heal and close up, sterilizing themselves, and accelerating the healing process greatly. This cannot give someone life, but can close cuts, and gashes, heal burnt skin, and even destroy most poisons and cure basic sicknesses. Cuts and wounds like gashes take about a minute to heal when they are basic, and take up to thirty minutes to heal when they are moderately heavy. Heavy wounds take up to an hour to heal, including dismemberment, or cuts on large arteries, provided the individual can last that long. This can be used to reconnect limbs, should it be fresh, however this takes up to two hours. This cannot reconnect anything like the head, neck, or other vital wounds. Fatal wounds cannot be healed by this if they kill before this can heal it normally.
Ingwaz, the singer rune. This rune, upon being spoken, will begin to screech with a powerful sound that is capable of shattering glass, and making ears bleed. When this sound is heard, it is very painful, and extremely loud, causing vibrations of a strong nature. Loki often does this screaming, or has the rune appear on his palm. Loki is impervious to the sound of this rune.
Dagaz, the dog rune. Once spoken, Loki will place the rune from his palm onto an object that someone has touched - someone that he wants to find. In the same way that a dog sniffs and can track people, this rune will follow the trail of the person by means of magic, and locate them indefinitely. This works similarly to other sensory runes used by Loki. It takes a full five minutes to find someone that is not within eyesight range. It finds the person instantly should they be in the range of eyesight.
Oathala, the oath rune. After the rune is spoken, it will often appear on Loki's palm. Once this rune is placed on another object, that object will have an imprint of the rune on it as well. Once this run is placed on the object, that object becomes near impossible to break. For example, should this run be placed on a wall, that wall would be near impossible to destroy under any circumstance. This rune can be overpowered by someone with six or seven strength, no lower. At six strength the rune does not break instantly, and takes some pounding. At seven the rune can be easily broken. This can be placed on inanimate objects, as well as plants.
