Duality

Recounting the series of events Bliss found herself in a few days ago made her dig deeper into the underground superhuman market New York hosted. One thing kept popping up for a number of disappearances and a direct link to the information she pulled from a leader of a local drug runner. These guys liked cute, young girls for the process. Any event within the city catering to a young demographic with almost no security and plenty of chances to isolate targets gave them what they wanted. After going through archive information on missing peoples reports she knew finding these places and hitting the street thugs by herself would turn ugly. Even if she managed to start hitting the thugs in the act the bosses would just send more men to more clubs and conventions; Bliss needed to find a central market for the trade of these 'mannequins.'

They hid past criminal activity fairly well, but Bliss made her way through the systems and started peeking around at things they would probably want to hide. Several prominent businessmen hosted an annual fashion show which catered to local agencies. It made sense as a perfect ploy. Investors in the market come to see this years model and take what they want. The recent surge in kidnappings made perfect sense as a last minute grab for some more commodities to sell to the market. Bliss reached the end of the document when she stumbled upon the most harrowing piece of information. One of the agencies sent a letter to Tyuki Gold to try and hire her as a model.

Once the limo arrived for Tyuki the trap would spring and four superhumans would make sure she got back to a special room in the back of the center where the acidic material they turned girls into mannequins awaited. Bliss shot up from her computer and flew out the door in jeans with a white sleeveless shirt and a tie loosely tied around her collar. She didn't know if she could get to Tyuki in time, but she made an attempt to get there in the New York traffic in her tiny BMW. Even if she failed to get there first, she could hit them at the second stop.

She just missed her. Fuck. Bliss pulled up just in time to watch the limo pull away with Tyuki inside, and no sign of how many people took her. Inconspicuously the limo pulled away from the house, giving Bliss room to follow that she turned down. She knew a quicker way of where she wanted to get to; it might even put her at the convention center before the limo could arrive. Instead of taking the main streets, Bliss cut through any margin of space narrow enough for her little car to squeeze through and squeeze through she did. Any time she gave these people with Tyuki in the limo wouldn't kill her, but what they moved into the convention center gave Bliss nothing but goosebumps.

Bliss shot out of a back alleyway and darted towards the busy intersection. Spinning the wheel and dropping the parking brake into place, Bliss spun her car around in a 180 to face the limo. She shot out of her car and began shooting ice from both arms to create a traffic divide forcing cars to move to around her, giving her a clear path of site to the limo. Spikes of ice broke forth from the ground and impaled the engine of the limo in the air. Doors on both sides opened and a cavalcade of well dressed men stepped out. "Give me the girl." Bliss shouted as she cracked her knuckles.

"We're afraid she's not here." A hissing sound rang from the man's cane as it slid into place. "Must've taken a wrong turn or something."

Bliss turned to see an identical limo move behind her on its way towards the fashion show. "Well then I need to go..."

"You're not going anywhere doll." Two other men made their approach with the slick tongued grease ball. Bliss raised an eyebrow as she rolled her eyes and sent the three men flying back when her ice blasts impacted against their chests.

"Dammit." Before the men could get back up, Bliss made her way towards her car and got back to her pursuit course against the limo. "They thought I was coming, and now they know that I'm coming." This time the situation would take a turn in Bliss's favor.

Blasting through traffic, Bliss made more of a name for herself than she would like to, but she needed to cut this limo off before it got to where it would drop Tyuki off. Emergency vehicles would no doubt make immediate response to the scene of the incident, but she hoped the police would give her enough room to work without worrying about collateral damage. It was bad enough she needed to save Tyuki before busting up this fashion show slave trade, but she didn't need to give the proprietors of the show break off the gala.

Just as the limo turned in to the back road of the convention center Bliss found her bearings on where she needed to make her way. She wanted to ram the limo and make her attack from there, but she couldn't risk it. With how public she made her first assault a second one would give the benefactors of the slave trade reason to leave the premise. Rapping her fingers on the steering wheel she pulled into an adjacent parking lot and got out of the car. She hoped to give the limo the assumption they lost her in traffic, but Bliss made her way for a nearby building over looking the back alley of the convention center.

Her ever so trusty power of ice created her stairs, giving her the view she needed and the position she desired to take. She came to the end of the building and looked over to see what activity looked like with the caravan of limos lining a backdoor before she made her move.

The escalation of her actions dealing with the previous limo didn't do her any favors with guards as she stopped over the ledge of roof of the three story building adjacent to the back alley. She knew this would take something of a leap of faith, but she took a deep breath and took off from the roof and headed down. In her free fall, ice formed around the sides of her forearms in the shape of curved blades while two pole-like structures grew out of the ground and met Bliss in flight. She locked the blades into position and continued her slide downward to initiate contact with the chest of one of the guards. Before he hit the ground, Bliss formed another two pillars to shoot up and throw the limos off of their axles and create a barricade of limos to deter the movement of more guards.

Failing to save Tyuki from an overflow of guards, she found a more elite form of guard facing her in the form of the super twins from before. A sideways limo flew towards Bliss with a ferocity as the blonde stepped forward to challenge Bliss. Knowing where there was smoke there was fire, Bliss put out a barb of ice to guard her back and felt the warm splash of blood fall against her back as the shadow jumping twin fell to Bliss's trap. Blood poured out and felt crushing, but the wound only looked bad. Freely creating spiked knives, Bliss threw a steady stream of barbs towards the charging twin. Her reflexes took her out of the way of the bull charge, but into the waiting arms of a four armed woman.

A thunderous roar came from the battle cry of the super strong woman as she flew towards the held Bliss, blood flowing from the cuts along her forearms from repelling her ice attacks. Ice began to consume Bliss's body, with the four armed woman still holding onto her. Meeting ice with knuckle, Bliss and her intertwined foe flew through the air and landed against the back wall of the building. "Get that girl inside and put her in the goo. We'll take care of this one." Over confident from her recent attack, the blonde woman overestimated her position over Bliss. As she charged Bliss noticed the woman holding her failed to expect this kind of dilemma and failed to keep her grasp tight. Pressing her fingers tightly against the half shell of ice protecting her chest, Bliss threw a powerful blast of ice out to shatter the shell with a sharp field of flak in tow.

Falling in the wake of the vicious attack, the two woman attempting to double team Bliss both grabbed at wounds caused from her explosive attack. "Put some ice on it." Bliss reached out her finger and fired a ray of ice at the three downed super humans to keep them passive in the ensuing fight she would take to save Tyuki. Hard ice encapsulated the three woman from foot to mouth, leaving only their noses exposed for breathing. Mimicking a gun, Bliss blew on her finger and looked upon the reckoning she unleashed; now to find and save Tyuki.

Just inside the doorway laid a wide open loading area diverging into a three long hallways. Before Bliss could take good bearings on any marks of struggle, she found herself engaged with one of her own from behind. A suit clad man garroted Bliss with a rag, forcing her to kick her feet against his thighs. Instead of kicking, she merely leveraged herself in a more arched form with her hands holding onto the rag. While her feint made him think she tried to pull the rag away from her throat, she really forced ice into the rag. Two men moved in from the hallway with smirks decorating their baseball wielding faces. As they came closer a shaft of ice broke from the rag and encompassed the man's face. Struggling to breathe, the man tried smashing the ice covering his nose and mouth against the wall to break a breathing path through.

Freed from the grip of her assailant, Bliss fired a line of ice against his bat while throwing her leg against the second man. Moving off of the first kick, she delivered her elbow to the soft part of his throat. Grimacing on the ground, Bliss maneuvered around him to deliver a kick into the breastbone of the guard whose failed to get his second hand on the bat in time to keep Bliss off of him. "Where is she?" Taking advantage of her split attention, the man with the frozen face attempted to sneak up behind her. With a quick sweeping kick, Bliss dropped him on top of the man grabbing his throat. "Now!"

"She's down the hall." Lying with a devious sincerity the grounded thug pointed Bliss towards the boss's office. Without seeing the smudges Tyuki left to help Bliss made her way down the hall. Bliss sprinted down the hallway and burst through the door. Before her sat the large man she briefly met when he suspended her over acid.

"Welcome. You're a hard woman to get a hold of." Smoke from a cigar clouded the man's plump face. Ice started to form around her fist, as the man pointed to a monitor. "I've seen what you can do, but unless you want to see what I can do to your friend, you should take a seat." Tyuki struggled in the small padded room with something behind her back, drawing attention from the spectators in the room. "Oh look she's being resourceful. I'll just have some men drop in to check on her."

After the scene of Tyuki shot on the monitor Bliss cowled a grimace across her face. She didn't want to say anything or let out too much of a display of anger over the Boss pulling one over on her, but as he laughed Bliss started to smirk. "What's so funny." A thick line of tar line the tops of his gritty yellow teeth.

"Oh look..." Bliss kicked the desk with a leg supported with ice. "She's being resourceful." The ice forced the Boss against the back of the wall and pinned him there. A smile crossed her face as ice began filling the room from the waist up; no way for the man to escape. "I'm going to break a rule I normally don't." The trapped man looked around at himself in shock. He feared for his life as the girl reached for something in her pocket. Eyes shut with fear and lips quivering with anticipation gave away his cowardly ways. "Hello, police..."

After meeting up with Tyuki and finishing up the fashion show by keeping all the guilty participants there, Bliss sat back to enjoy a New York dog. "I probably won't be around for a while. How about you take up the name Eclipse for a while?" Ketchup poured over the steaming sausage on the bun. "To be honest, I'm too old for this shit."

Tyuki moved with the quickness, and was outta there alongside of Bliss and was laughing her ass off. "I cannot believe we did it... Mmn, this is delicious," she said, leaning against Bliss' BMW and enjoying her New York hot dog with mustard and relish. She scarfed it down and looked at Bliss with wide eyes. "Seriously? Use your name? I'd put it to shame! But.. I guess I could.. maybe." She smiled and gave Bliss a very girlish hug and almost teared up. "I hope I see you again soon.. Keep in touch, okay?" She was blubbering now, and wanted to smack herself. She waved to Bliss and hopped up and down. Her small BMW then drove her off into the setting sung.

Tyuki pulled out her Talons communicator and looked at it sighing. She then dialed Andrew and wiped her crying eyes. "Hey bud? Yeah.. just got kidnapped and rescued all in the same day. Oh no, I'm fine. Come by my house tonight, okay?" She hung up and caught a cab back to her house where she'd just be lazy for a few days. She was really bummed that Bliss had to go. She really did hope she'd be back sooner or later.
