What happens, happens

That saturday morning was the one in which he decided to take care of some things that he needed to take care of.The night before he had used his team communicator to send a message to Phoenix to meet with him later on that morning to discuss some things of importance.Not like it would be hard exactly.New york city was no longer the metropolis it used to be.Hopefully things would go down without any trouble of any sort.

And so he headed out for this meeting.He was hoping that the guy would show up for it.This would be quite important after all.Also it was one that needed to occur.He wanted to handle this upfront and honestly.It was in a secluded area on the outskirts of town where he had asked to have this take place at 11am on the dot.He himself arrived at quarter till with his face covered simply because it was needed and there he waited hoping he'd show up soon.

Phoenix woke up and looked at his clock. 9:30 a.m. it read. He had received a message from Forcewave the night before about an important meeting. Andrew hopped in the shower and almost drifted off. He was tired from a late night.Getting out of the showerhe looked at a clock in his bathroom, 10:00. It was a warm summer mourning, and he didn't think anything intense was going to happen, so Andrew got dressed. Putting on khaki shorts and a red and black polo he grabbed his car keys and hopped into his mustang. He opened the glove compartment and took out his aviator sunglasses and put the car in reverse. Pulling out of his drive way he turned on his GPS.
Typing in the location where Force said he started heading for a coffee to wake him up a bit.

He pulled into the parking lot and got out of his car. Clicking a button on his keychain the doors locked. He walked through the doors of the coffee shop and got in line. A large gentlemen cut in front of him and turned to Phoenix with a grin. "You don't mind do ya'? Not that you could do anything about it."
Andrew made a fist, but then remembered he could crush this man like a fly. "No sir, go right ahead." Phoenix replied with a smile.
"That's what I thought." was the mans final remark.
Phoenix looked down at his phone to check the time. 10:30
He waited till the man in front of him was done and then ordered his drink and was off.
Back on route he turned on his radio and Skid Row began to play.

Phoenix arrived at the location at 5 minutes of 11. Force was already there.
"Hey man, how's it going?" Phoenix said with a smile sticking out his hand to shake Johns.
"So what's this meeting about man, something bothering you?"

Well then.At least he had showed up then.And a few minutes early too according to his watch which he had made sure was always set to the exact international time after all so he would always know what time it was just so long as he had it with him.It was better knowing than not knowing after all.

So just as he had decided earlier he came out and said it."I'm quitting the team.Sorry but it kind of has to happen.Things just aren't going to work out the way I had hoped so I figured I'd just leave now and be done with it."There he had told him.Now all he could do is wait and see how he would respond.John had gone through this conversation in his head several times trying to figure out how it would turn out.What outcome would be the result of this bit of information he had just dropped on him.Now to see what it would be."So."He continued."What do you think?Is that going to be okay with you?"

Phoenix was a bit stunned by the information Forcewave gave him. "What?" Phoenix asked with a puzzled look on his face. By the body language and face of Forcewave, Andrew knew he was serious. "Well, listen man. You're a good friend of mine. I just hope you continue using your gift for the best. You're a powerful kid Forcewave, you're have potential to be one of the best heros this world's ever seen. If you ever need anything. We're here for you." Phoenix said pointing to John's talon tags.

"If you don't mind me asking, what do you plan on doing? I'm just curious to what your future plans are." Phoenix asked with a smile. He was a bit sad that his buddy was gone, but a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. Just then to his left a mad man started shooting innocent people. Phoenix looked at Force quickly, then back at the man.
"One more for old time's sake?" Phoenix asked calmly.

And so he had told Phoenix exactly what he needed to tell him.His reaction was one that John had been hoping for.Things would be able to go by easy now.He could just relax.Well at least he would not have to worry about this anymore.That would one less thing to worry about.Now he had time to deal with all those other things if need be.After hearing everything that Phoenix had to say he responded as such."Hey thanks for understanding.I appreciate it, I truly do."

He was about to just simply leave when Phoenix asked him something.Something he did not want to answer.He had asked him what his plans were.He was trying to think of a response to this.How could've he have forgotten to have one prepared.Surely this question would've come up.He was spared the grief of having to answer though.Someone was causing trouble that needed to be tooken care of.Phoenix asked Forcewave if he'd be willing to deal with this alongside him."Sure.Let's do it."He then fired right at the madman's gun, knocking if right out of his hand.

"This is gunna be quick." Phoenix thought running full speed and the unarmed psycho. Barreling through the man, he dropped him to the ground. Looking at the flying gun, Andrew thought of all the awful things that could wrong if it went off. concentrating hard on the weapon, a fire started to form around it, and melted it to liquid. "Phew" Andrew thought in relief.

"Hands up!" a gang of armed men circled around Forcewave and Andrew. Each one of the thugs had some sort of heavy gun. From Shotguns to Ak-47's , it was right in front of him. Phoenix looked quickly to Force then back to the men. "Arms up huh? You Asked for it." as soon as Phoenix had his hands in the air, he spun in circles as fast as he could, creating a tornado of fire. Jumping out of the back of it he stood next to John. The gang stood in awe of the fire. The only thing between a group of angry, armed, gangsters was a tornado.

"Ok, Force, blast a wave through the tornado and knock them all over. Once their guns are dealt with, I should have no problem taking care of them. Of course, you're welcomed to join in on it." he said looking at his buddy with a grin. Phoenix set his right arm ablaze after rolling up his sleeve, fixed his sunglasses, and prepared for Forcewave's move.

Right after having managed to properly inform Phoenix of his future plans and learning that the guy was ok with what he had informed him of, something that had relieved him immensely, a sound of thunder could be heard nearby.Criminal activity was occuring even here of all places.They took action to stop this immediately.First Forcewave himself quickly disarmed the assailant of his weapon before he could fire again and then Phoenix took the guy down.

Just as it seemed that they had wrapped this situation up quickly something crazy happened.They were suddenly surrounded by a bunch of armed men that had their weapons pointed at the two of them with every intent to kill with the way they looked.Though it seemed that they wanted to capture them what with the way they were demanding that they surrender.This was definitely not a coincidence.They had been waiting for this opportunity.

Whatever plans they had for the two of them were put an end to quickly.Phoenix took action again.This time creating a wall of fire that surrounded the two of them.The assailants were now wary of taking any further course of action.While surrounded by the flames Phoenix informed Forcewave of an idea that he had to deal with these guys.It was one that he agreed with so it was executed instantaneously.He sent a wave of energy through the wall of fire that dispersed it and knocked all the gunmen to the ground.Immediately after doing so he continued by attempting to disarm all of them as soon as he possibly could.

Phoenix smiled as Forcewave followed the plan perfect. Stepping through the tornado of fire once more, now in front of the men, he smiled. "Ha. This was too easy." Phoenix laughed dashing at the thugs. Leaping into the air, he kicked the first thug in the head, following it up with a body kick. Landing, he did a back handspring and on his way out of it, kicked another man in the face. "2 down." Andrew thought to himself. One more thug dashed at him, ducking under the gun, Phoenix planed his attack. After the shot fired, Andrew rolled back and stood up. He quickly wound up, and punched the man in the face with power. Watching some teeth fall out of his face, the thugs were starting to run away.

The men were retreating, and Force and Andrew were doing it. The last few men stared at Andrew in fear. Creating a giant wave of fire, he stared into the eyes of the men and shouted one word. "Enough!" His nostrils seemed to flare with fire. His eye's almost burning. To the common criminal he was most certainly intimidating at this point. The thugs too off into the distance, but one stayed behind and took aim and Phoenix.

"You don't want to to that sir." Andrew said putting his hands up and stepping slowly towards the man.
"Get on the ground Phoenix!" the man shouted obviously in fear. Andrew's fire subsided and he took a step back.
"1..2..3" he thought to himself before dropping to the ground. Pulling his legs up to his stomach, and then pushing them back out, he created a wave of fire towards the man. Watching him drop the gun, the fore of the wave knocked the man out cold.
"We're going after them. They tried to kill us. I know I''m not your leader anymore, but I am your friend. I will do what I think is best for you. Right now that means going after some crooks."

After their quick display of teamwork proved successful in dispersing the circle of armed gunmen thereby leaving them now all scattered, some of which no longer even armed.It was now the two heroes who were on the offensive and having the advantage in this dreadful fight.These people had come out of nowhere to surround them following a solitairy gunmen's ploy.He was definitely a lure for them.No doubt about it.But for what reason?These guys seemed to know not only exactly who they were but were prepared for them to be here of all places.Forcewave was deeply concerned by such a fact.It's like they had been here waiting for them.But how could they have been?How would they know they would be here?

These thoughts were certainly distracting him.He could barely even focus on the threat itself while thinking about the reasoning behind it.Defeating these bad guys needed to be done with quickly.He had barely been fighting at all whilst thinking so hard.Now he was back to focusing.He was attempting to first disarm them of their weapons before actually attacking them.Summoning forth a wave of energy he sent it flying around striking first their weapons before the assailants themselves.Soon they found themselves beaten.It seems they had decided to retreat rather than continue with whatever they had been trying to do.

Indeed that was the case.Seeing themselves as simply no much for the two metahumans that they had tried to capture for whatever reason they had decided to retreat.John was conflicted on whether to let them just leave or not.On one hand he didn't want to be gone to long and chasing after these guys may take who knows how much time.On the other hand however he was curious as to how they know that they'd be in that specific location.Plus it was his job as a hero to stop criminals like those.Phoenix seemed to have already decided what he was going to do.

So they chased after them.Actually they more or less snuck behind them the entire way back.Due to their speed they had no problem keeping up.Actually managing to stay hidden from them the way back was the hard part.At one point instead of simply constantly having to quickly get behind something they decided to simply chase them from the rooftops and amongst wreckage.The crooks didn't even suspect that they were still following them from there.They just kept heading to whereever it was they were going.Eventually they reached some buildings that were somehow still standing amongst a wrecked area of the city from that huge attack on it not long ago.It was into one of these buildings that they entered.Forcewave and Phoenix were hiding amongst the wreckage of a destroyed building.Or buildings.It was hard to tell with all the damage that had been done to the area from that attack.

John looked over at Andrew to see if he was thinking the same thing.Indeed he was.He then looked back at the building to see if there was another way in besides the front door.From where he was standing he could not see any alternate route to take.They would need to get closer in order to see if there was any other way in at all.He started moving stealthily through the wreckage towards the building.From here he could tell that they would have to cross the street in order to get to the building.Doing so would put them right in the open to get spotted but there was no way to get to the place without doing so.Their best bet would be to head back to the end of the road then cross a good distance across then sneak along the buildings to the main one instead.He signaled over to Phoenix to have him follow him over there.Once there they quickly crossed the street and proceeded back down the road towards that building.Now there was only one building between them and the one that those attackers had entered in.

After making short work of the baddies, Force gave Andrew the look. Phoenix just smiled and followed behind Forcewave. Running across rooftops theycame to where they needed to be. Force dashed across the street and Phoenix followed behind him. Once there was only 1 building in between them Phoenix put his hand up against John's chest. "Before we go in there I think we need a plan. Whoever they were, they were packing heat. There's no doubt in my mind that that place has weapons in it as well. I say we go through the back." Andrew said looking at the building.

"Once we're in we don't know the layout of the place at all, or how many are in there. We could be dealing with those guys, or a whole pack of em'. Also, they knew where we were gunna be, and I don't like that. Somehow, they waited for us. Someone had to have tapped our phones or something. " Phoenix said starting to get a little angry that someone had the jump on him.

Phoenix was first to the back door and waited for Force. Putting up three fingers he nodded his head, and then put one down. Repeating this till he got to 1, he then kicked tried to open the back door. It turned out to be locked. "Shocker." Phoenix whispered to himself. Making a thin flame, he burnt through the key whole, and the doorknob split. "Boom." he thought to himself.

He stepped into the building no lights were on, and no one was in the room. He tuned back to Force and suddenly the lights flipped on. "You guys came right to us." a large bald man said to the two of them. "We know all about your team. To be honest, you have really pissed me off. Getting in the way of a man's business like this."
"What are you talking about?" Phoenix asked with a puzzled look on his face.
"Remember that bank you and that girl stopped from being robbed? That cost me 4 million dollars. Do you know how much money that is?" After the man finished his question 2 armed men stepped out from behind him. Phoenix turned to Force with the "get ready" look in his eye, and then prepared for the worst.

After having followed the assailants who had attempted to take them out at the place where the two of them had met back to their secret base of operations they found themselves wondering just how to get in.The two of them had snuck around the buildings and were only one away from the main one itself.The suggestion or looking for a back entrance and using that instead was tossed between.It seemed like a better idea so they went looking around back for another way in.

So the two heroes snuck quietly around to the back of the building to look for said other way in.They managed to find one.A door lay present at the back of the building.It was through that door that they decided to attempt to enter through.Hopefully they would be able to.Who knows what may lie on the other side of the entrance.What could be waiting for them at this very moment.Phoenix tried to simply open the door but to no avail."Of course it's locked."He thought.Why wouldn't it be?Who would leave a door unlocked in this city except somebody completely foolish enough to practically want people to come in at any time.

They had gotten through the door with some practical application and were now in the building itself.It was dark in there to say the least.There wasn't a single light on in the vicinity.This was a strange occurence for such a thing to be happening.Suddenly the lights came on and somebody was standing there in front of them.So this too was a trap.They even knew that they'd try to come in through the back door instead of the front.My they were pretty crafty one must admit.He certainly did.After all they had managed to trap them at a secluded meeting place of all things.

The man then addressed them and it seemed that he knew them for he talked like he did.In fact he most certainly did.They had somehow run aground of his operations beforehand without even knowing so and now he sought to get rid of them.Then 2 more gunmen came out with their weapons pointed at the two heroes ready to fire.But they would never even get the chance to.Before they really even had a chance to aim their weapons Forcewave had blasted the guns right out of their hands and them to the ground..But he didn't stop there.No most certainly he did not.He immediately erected a barrier of energy around himself and Phoenix believing that more lie in wait prepared to fire.This way those shots could be blocked."Watch out for others hiding."He said to Phoenix quietly enough so that only he would hear.

Surrounded by John's powerful shield, Phoenix felt comfortable. "When I fire, open up." he said over his shoulder.
The two armed guards looked in disbelief. Phoenix turned towards Forcewave and created a mask of fire for himself. "I wasn't prepared, this'll do." his face now both foggy from the heat, and hidden. The two guards dropped their weapons once John fired. Andrew's first attack wasn't long after. Blasting two streams of intense fire at the two thugs' guns. Watching them liquidate, a grin crept across Andrew's face.

The big, bald man had a look of shock on his face. Andrew created a large fireball, about the size of a basketball. He stared directly into the man's eyes and started to talk. "You're going to turn yourself in, drop to your knees right now, and end this..." Phoenix stopped and looked around the room a bit. "....Or I'll burn this entire place to the ground." He looked back at Force wave and gave him the "I'm not actually going to, play along" face.

The man called his bluff. "I know you heroes. I know you wouldn't put that many lives in danger."
"Fuck he didn't buy it." Phoenix thought to himself. Creating chain of fire, he shot it out of the shield and it wrapped around the boss's legs. Feeling the heat, the man began to scream. Phoenix gave a small tug on the chain and the man fell onto his back. Now letting the chain go, it vanished. The moon stood up, with a very angry look on his face. "Bad move kid." was all he had to say and then charged at the duo.

Now in the base of the very people who had ambushed Forcewave and Phoenix in the park they found themselves in a fight with its members.Of course this was to be expected.They had encountered a man who had told them why they were wanted dead by these gangsters.So far however their plans weren't working too well.The two gunmen that had come with him had been disarmed, tooken down and their weapons destroyed in a matter of seconds due to the combined efforts of the two heroes.

While Phoenix was trying to convince the man to surrender through a simple method of intimidation via his power Forcewave was looking around for any sign of others.Surely there were more people here.They had seen them enter this very building after all so this couldn't be all that was here.An ambush perhaps was awaiting them.It was such a thing that he had generated that barrier around them to begin with.Just so it couldn't take them out without them even noticing it.He couldn't seem to find anybody.Either they were well hidden or there were none around.He believed the former and not the latter.

The man wasn't interested in allowing himself to be defeated.He had called the bluff.This would require more effort.But they could handle it if it was just this one guy.Phoenix brought the man down with a chain of his own fire but still he wouldn't give up.After getting back to his feet he told them that he had just made a bad move for some reason.He then charged directly at them.What was he up to Forcewave wondered.Whatever it was he had no intent of allowing him to carry through with it.He sent forth a blast to knock the man back down to the ground as soon as he started running towards them.He then strengthened the barrier because he was expecting what he fearing would soon happen to take place at this very moment.

From seemingly nowhere, men started pouring from doors. The big boss had totally set them up, and now they were surrounded. Looking quickly to John he turned back to the small army of men in front of them. "Well there's only one way out of this Force." Andrew said over his shoulder. Creating as powerful of a wave of fire as he possibly could, he most certainly felt the heat. Still in the comfort of John's forcefield, Phoenix had a few moments to strategize.

There seemed to be about 40 men. All whom were well armed. The only problem was a giant firewall, and powerful field protecting the heroes. Smiling, Andrew's metaphoric lightbulb went off. "I got it." he thought to himself quickly. John was well trained and experienced to know to open holes where Andrew fired. Taking his first few blasts he watched as holes for his attacks were opened in the forcefield. Two large streams of fire wrapped around about 10 goons. Turning up the heat, Andrew watched as the men all passed out from the temperatures. This left 30 more men for the two heroes.

"Force, we gotta move, there's too many to fight right here." Andrew said looking down at the floor below them. Andrew jumped into the air a bit, then slammed down onto the wooden floor. The floor caved in like a igloo in July. Andrew and John both fell to the floor below them. Slamming the ground hard, he felt the impact. Pain traveled through Phoenix's body in a sudden jolt. Andrew turned back to John to see if he was alright. "Any ideas now man?"

Forcewave had been expecting for just this to happen since the moment that Phoenix and himself first entered this building in pursuit of the assailants who had attacked them earlier.He had been waiting and preparing for the ambush to occur.Where a bunch of thugs would come out, weapons ready to all attack the two heroes.Now it had finally happened.They were surrounded on all sides by about three dozen or so of them all armed and ready to fire.He knew that he and his friend would need to act quickly or their chances of survival would diminish quickly.

Acted quickly they did.They didn't have any choice in the matter so they had to.Forcewave not only maintained the force field he had generated earlier but increased its defensive capabilities for the onslaught that was about to take place.Phoenix had generated a wall of fire inside the barrier that made it impossible for the gunmen to see them.Forcewave used this to reposition himself inside the barrier as he prepared the next move.For some reason he already knew what it would be.Everytime Phoenix attacked Forcewave would create a passageway for the flames.

This wasn't working that well though.There were simply too many of them all firing down upon the two of them for them to continue onwards with this course of action.A better option was probably needed."Try and see if there's a basement.Go through the floor."He said to Phoenix who immediately smashed through the ground beneath them and into the building's basement.As they fell downwards Forcewave had the barrier get sent out in all directions to try and take out a few more of the gunmen.Unbeknownest to him he had managed to get a few.

Now down in the basement itself he started looking around for any and all entrances to it besides of course the hole they had just created.He saw one staircase that led to a door and an elevator shaft.Two places they could come from.Far less than what they had before.That would be easier to cover.He also saw a bunch of crates all around."Wonder what's in those?"He asked himself rather rhetorically.Forcewave already had a good idea as to what those crates contained.He didn't have time to ponder on it though."Phoenix you monitor that door up there.I'll watch the elevator.They could come from either one or probably both."Forcewave then took cover behind a crate monitering the elevator, prepared to attack if need be.
